Having my husbands meal replaced as barely warm we both were given free drinks on the house . There were only 3 members of staff who were rushed off their feet but still found time to be polite and helpful .Thankyou Zoe Toni and Michael .

The Lady Chatterley, a J D Wetherspoon pub, takes its name from D.H. Lawrence’s controversial novel, Lady Chatterley’s Lover. Lawrence borrowed the name from a local colliery agent, George Chatterley, who lived nearby. The pub’s history intertwines with Lawrence’s Eastwood roots, where he penned his early works, including The White Peacock. 🍻📚12 And speaking of pubs, have you ever stumbled upon a literary-themed watering hole that captured your imagination? Perhaps one where the walls whisper tales of famous authors and their muses?

Typical for a Spoons pub. They are good at what they do and are good value. This one was as I expected. Everything was good for a Spoons pub. I even gave the service a very good rating because ordering and paying for food on the app is easy, and the food was delivered quickly, and the server was helpful and polite.

Hit and miss how good the food is for breakfast, £4.99 for Hotdrink 2 bacon 1 egg , beans , hash brown toast and 2 sausages. you must specify if you want a soft egg at the time of ordering . If you like crispy bacon , lovely, or if you like it just done not so good . But staff very amicable, did offer to change the bacon for us and then came back with loads , refillable tea coffee chocolate latte etc . But good value for money , gets quite busy.

A typical small town Spoons, nothing exciting on the Cask Ale front but the usual prompt efficient service. Excellent, regular 10 minute daytime bus service here to Nottingham with a stop right outside the pub and a dot matrix informing the time of the next few departures.

Before DH Lawrence decided to write his early twentieth filth-fest, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, he was born. He didn’t write about the event, claimed he couldn’t remember. Apparently. And he popped out in Eastwood, Notts. Almost a century later, Wetherspoons opened a pub and named it after arguably his most famous strumpet. And that’s where we found ourselves, after a visit to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. The pub is comfortable enough and we soon found a table. There was a steady stream of custom without the pub getting too busy. We could hear ourselves think, always a good thing. Unless you’re Jeremy Clarkson. We ordered a curry, half a chicken and a steak. Plenty of opportunities for mistakes to be made in that little smorgasbord. And surprisingly few were made. My wife told me that her Tikka Masala was delicious, and it certainly looked it. The poppadom is always tricky to get right in a pub environment and aside from being a little greasy, it was fine. The chicken had been thoughtless enough to be far too small when it was no longer for this world. However, my daughter enjoyed what she had. No mean feat, believe me. My steak was very, very nice indeed considering the price. A lovely piece of meat cooked to my tastes very nicely indeed. All in all, we had no complaints and enjoyed the visit. Lady Chatterley would have loved it. So to speak...

I wanted to share our recent experience with yourselves on Mother’s Day this year. We arrived at around 10:30 and it was clear that it was a very busy day and time at the branch, there were few members of staff around and it was clear that there may have been a staffing issue or the volume of customers exceeded your expectations. The reason I am writing in isn’t because it took a while for our food, or Infact that the food wasn’t quite the temperature we expected, I’m writing in because you can understand this on such a busy day but what was a pleasant surprise was the way a certain member of your team went above and beyond to make everyone’s experience the best that she could make it. Whilst we were waiting for our food this lady was clearing plates and cleaning tables, she saw we were struggling to use the drinks machine as it was out of milk. She informed us that she doesn’t deal with the food/drinks but she will find out what to do an assist us, moments later she was back with milk in hand and worked her way through helping us, I understood how to fill the machine and offered to finish it myself so she can continue with what she was doing but she insisted that she helped us the best she could. In the next 5/10 minutes it was clear that there was a back log on orders and the bar/waiting staff were struggling, I watched her roll up her sleeves and get stuck in, serving, offering assistance, answering queries and above all apologising for the delays. It was clear she was doing all she could to ensure that everyone was catered to and didn’t suffer due to any delays or issues. I feel that this member of staff has gone above and beyond on this day and as such deserves to be recognised for the professionalism and commitment that she has shown your company and your customers. Please pass our personal thanks and I really hope this goes towards giving her the recognition she deserves. If your company rewards their staff whether it be a colleague of the month or bonus then I would love to put her forward for this.

First time visiting today. Ordered our drinks and food, the drinks came, then we had to wait, wait, and wait. The food eventually arrived. I have never had to cut through massed potatoes, which had formed a skin on the top. The mushy peas were dry and looked like had been painted onto the plate. The gravy came in a gravy boat, as I poured it out, it came out in several lumps. The meat pie was not to bad. None of us enjoyed the meals, the people at the next table left more of the food they had ordered and on the way out we heard other complaining about the dry chips. We won't be going there again and we most certainly do not recommend the place, the table was a mess and not been wiped down and cups from who sat there before were left on the table.. not a good experience at all.

The Lady Chatterley is a Wetherspoon's establishment, consequently the prices you pay for food and drink really do take some beating. £5, 16 for two pints of Carling!! I can pay £5, 80 for a single pint in other pubs I go to. I find that the atmosphere is light and unintimidating . If there's anything lacking it's in the fact that there's a lot of transient custom, so for me it doesn't generate what I might term as a genuine pub atmosphere. No worry though. The conveniences have been attracting comments in the local media as to the trek you have to make to get to them , but also how lavish they are once you get there. There is also disability facilities, so none of this is a problem. All in all a pleasant, trouble free experience

Very poor admin/door staff. My wife and I arrived around 8.45 on Saturday evening and were refused admission by the door man on the grounds that the pub was full. His English language wasn't so good. There were people having a smoke outside who told us that it wasn't full inside. We could actually see inside and it wasn't full. I thought he was joking! It's not as if we are undesirables. I am a 65 year old respectable businessman. He didn't even ask us to wait until someone left the pub. We turned around and walked away, but as we looked back, we could see people leaving. We thought about going back but had been so upset by the doorman's attitude that we di dn't want to spend money at a place that didn't want us. We walked a couple of hundred yards to the "Dog & Parrot" where we had a lovely night and spent our money there. Note to the manager.... What is going on in your establishment. Seek him out and get rid. He's doing you a disservice because I won't be coming back!

Arrived for dinner, seated on time, ordered food and drinks which were delivered in good time. Young chap running round like there was nobody else there, bringing food out and clearing tables but apart from him, nobody seemed bothered. Not particularly busy. Two other staff wandering around doing very little apart from taking the odd bill to a table or having a chat. Sat for 20 mins being ignored with empty drinks glasses and no food on the table, got bored, paid and left. Shame really as the food was good but won’t rush back.
