Came for breakfast with the family this morning. It was really lovely. Most had the light breakfast which was 1 sausage (really nice quality), bacon, half a tomato, mushrooms, scrambled egg, Hash brown and a slice of toast for just over £6 highly recommended.

This category includes a variety of indoor and outdoor gardening supplies, with a wide variety of outdoor flowers, plants, and trees, including garden houses and wood sheds to choose from. There is a restaurant, outdoor and outdoor, where you can enjoy your meal leisurely. It’s a great place to shop for gardening and take a walk around. It is being reset and a covered garden is being built. Spring flowers are on sale.

Really nice place to go and spend a few hours, they have all the Christmas decs and the model village out at christmas, so be prepare to spend some money! And they have garden furniture out in the summer. the Digg cafe is nice to sit down, have some lunch in or a cup of tea and cake, friendly staff and good assortment of toys, food and other gift ideas for the festive season. They have a large car park, with disabled spaces, no steps. Toilets near the cafe and a large outdoor section for plants and fruit trees, they are extending this now, so you might have abit of construction noise. (Feb 2024)

Visited recently for a part for a garden hose. Found that week's after Christmas they are still trying to sell all the Christmas stock, outside is closed for some reason and overall the shop just looked unloved. Lots of staff around appearing to do very little while boxes are piled up in walkways. Never did find the part I wanted for the hose, or any garden tools at all? I thought certain a garden centre would be the place to go.

Lovely garden centre and Still independently owned, it is not part of the British garden centre chain. Beautiful displays all year round to celebrate the changing seasons, excellent display of sheds and garden huts. Lots of differnt fish and all things fishy to buy. Only let down is the quality of food in the cafe. Been twice in a week and first I got Luke warm hot chocolate which wasn't to great and second time I got a latte that wasn't even hot enough to melt the sugar. Miss heard my order so got given a plate of luke warm toast instead of poached egg on toast with 3 eggs on brown please. So I'm confused as to how she translated that into 2 slices of white toast!!? The floor staff which are mainly teenagers were all very kind and polite and every table they cleaned and left spotless they all deserve huge praise for their role in the cafe as it looked fresh and clean to sit down.

Good choice of outdoor plants and good Christmas displays when we visited today. What lets it down is always the cafe, over 20 mins in queue just to place the order and 50 mins wait for food (2 people). I think it might have gone on longer if I hadn't asked someone to check with the kitchen. One meal was only quiche and salad! They could definately look at ways to improve their system. If you don't have loads of spare time to spend waiting then suggest you skip the cafe altogether.

My friend and I had lunch at the centre yesterday lunch time. The salad was well past its best, with black, soggy leaves. Tge quiche was small and dried up. Very disappointing. When we spoke to one of the staff she took our plates and said 'I'll mention it'. We waited around expecting a more senior member of staff to discuss this with us and at least offer an apology. Noone spoke to us. We then went to Strelley Hall for some excellent food. Trowell Garden Centre has lost two customers.

Thinking of somewhere to eat can be quite difficult, but after some consideration Diggs Cafe, at Trowell Garden Centre, was on the cards; upon arriving at the Garden Centre, you are immediately funnelled into a one way system - that leads you around the garden centre, accompanied by incredibly loud music (bring earplugs as you will need them), until you reach the rather "odd" entrance to get into the Cafe; but then to my surprise - a barrier with a sign next to it saying "table service" and a wait time of some 30 minutes. Confusing or what, especially seeing as that restrictions have now eased. We were called to a table, sat down and a member of staff came over, handed us three rather tatty menu's and we ordered, I had the Vegetarian Burger which was probably the most "edible" part of the meal, as the bun it was served in was dry as old boots, the fries were incredibly average and tepid, plus the onion rings, well they had water surrounding them, all very strange, no way of looking at the food counter as Diggs, are still operating a very strange restricted service - despite covid now being "Endemic." Another person had a Toasted Teacake that looked nice, yet again this was dry as old boots and in the end was wasted, and the other person had a flat white coffee which was nice and a Bakewell slice, that left a lot to be desired to say the least. The strange thing is that a lot of other garden centres you can now get counter service, without a pathetic one way system and table service which is a lot more civilised, and then the view from our table, looked into the under cover section of the garden centre, with a nice view of a filthy lamp with cobwebs and flies galore. Off putting to say the least as well. But years ago this place used to be nice, now it leaves a lot to be desired, if you are wanting a friendly garden centre, with nice food and drink, then avoid Trowell Garden Centre and instead try somewhere like Reuben Shaws or Bardills, which is just off the A52 near Stapleford.

We arrived at the restaurant eager to try the Chips we had seen on a previous visit where we were seated about 2 minutes too late and could only order cakes and cold snacks. This time we arrived with plenty of time and the restaurant was busy. It took about 5 minutes to get seated and there was no queue to enter. We were seated next to a small hedge on a table for two, near the Tills and route to the exit. We were given menus, then within about 2 minutes we were asked what we wanted to order, which seemed a little rushed. As we already knew roughly what we wanted we ordered drinks and Some of the rustic chips we had gone there for, and I had a Spinach, cheese and Pesto toastie. We chatted for a bit, watching others come and go, and noticed other people were arriving, and getting served their drinks and their food before us. We had been seated for about 20 minutes before our drinks came, with no apology for the wait, about 10 minutes later the food arrived. The chips were excellent but my Toastie was extremely thin. The staff member asked us if we needed condiments about a minute later. We noticed other people who had arrived after us had eaten their meals and began to queue up as we were starting ours. The queue was located immediately next to our table on the other side of a small artificial hedge. I could see the lady at the tills was busy, there were two tills but only one in use.The queue got quite large and it took about 30-40 minutes for it to fully die down.During which period we had people less than 2 feet from our table, standing, coughing, sneezing, on us and making eye contact with my friend who was facing the queue. Had we known this prior to being seated we would have asked for another table. At one point we even had a person sitting on the hedge with his backside practically on our table. We couldn't talk because it felt like people were listening. We also had dogs watching us eat as their owner queued. When the queue had dissipated somewhat we tried to attract the attention of a staff member to make a complaint. It took ages, eventually I had to stand and shout over to a person called Nick, we identified him as the only person who had been friendly or upbeat during the whole of the service. We told him that we weren't happy that no one had been attentive, once we were seated, being left for 20-30 minutes without a drink is not acceptable, at this point we could have walked out, and we have seen people do it before, at the very least a drink means we have to wait for our food.We told him we had witnessed a lady served fish and chips and then not given a fork, and when she tried to attract attention she was ignored, even when making eye contact with the lady at the till, she ended up having to queue to get cutlery whilst her food got cold.We also told him about the queueing situation. He basically advised us that there was no process to deal with the complaint that day, and we would have to submit feedback via their website. We told him we were not trying to get a refund, discount or a voucher just for someone to acknowledge that our visit had not been satisfactory, so that our feedback could be used constructively. In the end we could see we were not going to achieve anything. What rounded our visit off was the completely neutral handling of our payment, no pleasantries, just an instruction to check and insert my card.On this basis I would not recommend the restaurant.I appreciate we probably sound stuck up, but we are quite young and after so long not being able to go out, this experience was not what we were looking forward to.

We quite often pop in to Diggs to eat. The staff are great and are always on the go. But something is obviously wrong at the moment. There is a written apology on a blackboard before you even step in!! In my mind the logical thing to do would be to temporarily cut the service area down to at least give the serving staff a fighting chance. We ordered and we accepted that the wait would be longer than normal.Well, after 15 minutes my ordered toastie arrived looking a sorry, not good for value snack with no tea. My partner had ordered a simple scone which unlike my toastie required very little if any prep'. However, her scone didn't arrive till another 15 minutes had passed. Our pot of tea arrived with her scone. This tea was stewed a!being with only 1 teabag and was luke warm to boot.I truly feel sorry for the hard working staff but the management need to look at their own planned strategy to overcome their difficulties before more customers think with their feet.

Been many times but todays visit 31st Dec 2021 will be the last. No wait for a table and given menu but after looking at the menu which has a lot of variety then realised how pricey it is. £ 4.59 for toast, £2.49 for a cuppa tea. Chap on next table was moaning about lack of food on his breakfast plate. This is a lot dearer than the Costas etc for drinks and toast, Visit Number 58 in Long Eaton which does a very large breakfast for similar prices in a lovely Bistro type bar.

We had visited this cafe after a recommendation from friends and this was our 3rd visit after 2 previously nice meals. There were only 3 tables occupied by a total of 5 people including us, so we ordered breakfast and after first choice granola was unavailable, my partner went for pancakes but please no syrup. The pancakes came with syrup spread all over them. The Scrambled egg looked inedible and was taken away , not a replacement for either so my partner just had toast to eat now. My fried breakfast and coffee was ok but had to go and ask for butter for the dry toast as none was offered. So £23 and my partner only had toast and a drink. In all honesty this is not the cheapest place and better service is expected.

Always had really good service and nice food here in the past. I don't know if they were short-staffed, but it took ages for someone to take our order then the food took a long time to come by which time we had finished our drinks. When the food arrived, the quiche was room temperature, the gourmet burgers we had ordered were dry as were the brioche buns they were in. The fries were barely warm and the beans ordered with the child meal came as peas. These were changed for beans which were congealed with a dry crust. It all looked as if it had been prepared and then forgotten by those serving at table. It was all very unappetising.Really disappointed.

After walking around the garden centre we wanted to sit and eat in the digg cafe, firstly we had to find the entrance as it's not very well signposted. After waiting for a member of staff to come to us we requested a table inside as we had a baby with us and it's not very warm, the rude elderly lady who stood on the door told us we had to go to the tent area to eat, I asked if she could check availability inside she said its full. We decided to leave and eat elsewhere,we left via the cafe, where their were more than 6 empty tables, yes some needed cleaning but we would have waited. She was very rude.

Today , however we chose to sit inside as it was a little cool and rain possibly on it's way . We were greeted as usual by a very polite member of staff and shown to a table . We sat down , immediately realising that the music was blasting out of a nearby speaker. This made it impossible to hold a conversation without shouting to my husband , thus adding to the noise. My husband usually wears hearing aids ... he had not got them in and he said it was loud ! I'm sorry we didn't wait to order anything .

We chose what we wanted to eat and so I went top order the food, then spotted the menus near the trays. Both had gammon, egg, peas and chips. We ordered a coffee and tea too. Coffee VERY expensive at nearly £3, tea nearly £2 for a tea bag and water. The good came very quickly. Loads of lovely chips, far too many for me but my 90 year old friend ate there plate clean. It did me good to see her eat so much. I thought the gammon was dry so brought most home for my dogs and I think beans would have been nicer than peas. However, good service, nice place to spend an afternoon reminiscing

Only came for tea and cake, but was so tempted by all the food on offer. The cobs looked and smelled incredibly fresh. Large variety of cake, and caters for gluten free and vegan. Good service and great products,

Having stumbled across the new cafe last weekend with my husband, I thought I would bring my two teenage boys here for a last lunch of the school holidays. It was very busy but that did not affect the service or the quality of the food. The staff were lovely, the food was fantastic and the air conditioning a welcome treat! All the food is reasonably priced and the portion sizes are good. Children’s menu too!! I would recommend a visit to anyone! Well done Trowell!

Luke warm tea, miserable and slow service. A party of 4 of us ate here, 2 had fish and chips, another had scampi and chips. All found multiple blonde hairs in their food. The communal sauces were compromised (old chip in the bottle) and my Lasagne looked like it was made 3 years ago and set on fire, accompanied by a portion of garlic bread (1 slice of baguette only toasted on the top) Taking the Urine tbfh.

Excellent quaint venue with friendly and accommodating staff. I had the 18oz Rump Steak, which was good quality and well cooked. The locally sourced fruit and veg delivery arrived whilst we were there
