Booked through company to stay one nice. Upon arrival checked into room at the bar, good atmosphere is the downstairs pub with plenty of screens for the football. Room was spacious with a comfortable bed, decor was a bit dated but didn’t was fine for what it was. Problems when getting to sleep was quite loud outside but I’m not a light sleeper so didn’t bother too much, however for whatever reason the heading was on full blast with no option to turn it off, mid-June warm outside the room was like an oven! Window was already open so couldn’t do anything to make it cooler. For this reason couldn’t wait to get out in the morning. Breakfast in the morning was poor, ordered poached eggs on toast and the solid was rock solid. So much so that when I cut into it the corner of the toast pinged off my plate onto the floor! 😂 Wouldn’t stay again

I love nipping in here for a pint and to watch the sport. Great local crowd. Sharing platters are good to go with the pint too.

My new favourite place ❤ Haven't been to Gotham since I was a kid, so decided to take mum & my kids. Lovely welcome from the landlady Laura on arrival👍 Great beer garden for adults & kids, not too big so can keep an eye on the kid's. Had some lovely wine & great food 😋 will definitely be visiting again & again 5⭐

We were at The Sun again last Saturday where we both enjoyed a homemade chicken curry. It had been made by the chef and it was fantastic,very flavoursome and spicy. Most enjoyable.

Cuatro de nosotros decidimos llamar a cenar hace un par de semanas y estamos contentos de haberlo hecho. Todos tuvimos comida y quedamos muy satisfechos. Nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos y nos encontramos con un joven encantador que nos llevó a nuestras mesas y tomó nuestro pedido de bebidas. Muy limpio y muy amigable. Buena elección de cervezas bien!¡Nosotros definitivamente vamos a volver! !

Estábamos trabajando en Gotham por la mañana afortunadamente con un residente local y pedimos una recomendación para un almuerzo del domingo a las 2 pm. El Sun Inn fue muy recomendado, así que felizmente decidimos probarlo. Lamentablemente, parece que la recomendación fue desafortunada.Los asados del domingo fueron la oferta del día con una "opción vegetariana a pedido". Éramos un grupo mixto de comedores de carne y verduras. Lamentablemente se habían quedado sin la opción vegetariana, pero nos ofrecieron la cena asada normal sin la carne que aceptamos ya que disfrutamos de un buen plato de verduras bien cocinadas. La comida llegó con las porciones más pequeñas imaginables. Para ser sincero, las comidas de los niños eran más grandes a pesar de que solo tenían medio pudín de Yorkshire. Dos papas asadas pequeñas por plato (adulto y niño) sin puré tampoco. Preguntamos si había más que decirles que "se habían quedado sin papas". Del mismo modo, el relleno anunciado no estaba presente. "Nos acabamos de quedar" fue nuevamente la respuesta. Después de una comida inadecuada, pasamos a los postres. Al buscar algo de sustancia en lugar de azúcar, se solicitó un plato de pan y aceitunas con el ahora esperado "Nos hemos quedado sin pan. . . ". Puede ser simplemente que alguien se haya perdido un pedido o algo similar para ser justos, pero sería bueno saber que hubo deficiencias en el menú antes de que ordenemos o inmediatamente después o, de hecho, una simple disculpa al servir en lugar de que se lo diga de mala gana y sin disculpas. cuando preguntamos quizás con la esperanza de que no nos daríamos cuenta. Reservé aquí hace 3 semanas para 7 de un almuerzo familiar. El número de elementos no disponibles era mayor que el menú. El servicio estaba bien, pero terminamos con bocadillos en la puerta que tardó una eternidad. Si no hubiera estado con la familia, les habría dicho que lo olvidaran. Pérdida total de tiempo. Ser servido con una bebida también fue un trabajo duro. ¡Una camarera desaparecida que tenía una actitud espantosa no ayudó!Espero que Laura y Ben lean esta crítica y deseen discutirla, ya que es posible que no se den cuenta de que están decepcionados.

Vine aquí para almorzar después de un tranquilo paseo por los campos desde casa.Tuve un bistec medio raro perfectamente cocinado con stilton en chapata. Andy comió el pastel de la semana que estaba lleno de carne de res y muchas verduras con suave y esponjoso puré.Solo bien.Buena elección de cervezas reales y personal amable, servicial e informativo.En realidad, los locales también fueron amables y serviciales.Un montón de asientos y muy bien decorada.Volveremos pronto

Fab garden area with comfortable seating. Lovely for a sunny day in a relaxing location. Good food and reasonably priced. Friendly staff and a homely feel. Well worth a visit

Vinimos aquí con amigos y nuestros perros, pedí un panini de brie y arándanos que incluía chips. La comida era muy sabrosa y abundante, la casera era muy amable, nos hablaba a nosotros y a nuestros perros, e incluso tienen golosinas gratuitas para mantenerlos felices. Definitivamente regresaremos de nuevo en el futuro.

Abbiamo soggiornato due giorni in questo albergo-pub. La cameta abbastanza pulita, normale come grandezza, letto molto comodo. Bagno piccolo. Molto carino il pub. Personale molto gentile.

Mi esposo y yo fuimos a The Sun Inn para comer algo al regresar de QMC. Decir que nos sorprendió gratamente es una subestimación. Era muy tranquilo cuando fuimos temprano el martes por la noche, pero la comida y el servicio eran excepcionales. Definitivamente vamos a visitar de nuevo.

Cuatro de nosotros decidimos llamar para el almuerzo y me alegro de haberlo hecho. Todos teníamos comida y estábamos muy contentos. Tuve el queso y pepinillo ciabatta con patatas fritas.Nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos y también hicieron un alboroto de nuestros 3 perros.Estaba muy limpio y el personal y los clientes eran muy amables.Iremos allí de nuevo.

The Sun has definitely turned over a new leaf. Had a lovely meal with my wife this evening. We had heard great things about the belly pork and it didn't disappoint! Nice atmosphere and good food

Had sunday lunch today, my wife had the beef and I went for the pork, must say we did not make a mistake, fantastic traditional food that was very well cooked and tasted great. Really friendly staff, we will be going back.

Fue el cumpleaños de mis socios y 4 de nosotros fuimos a almorzar. El amable barman dijo que no estaban comenzando a comer hasta la noche, sin embargo, el chef lo escuchó y dijo que se estaba preparando de todos modos y ¡nos encantaría cocinar para nosotros! Nos casa sentado para amigos en el este de fuga y me dijeron que había estado aquí. Fuimos una cena para echar un vistazo y me pareció muy agradable y amable que nos hablaba a Richard que fue tener una parrillada mixta dijo que la comida era muy buena y recomendamos el pastel de carne con cerveza que no íbamos a comer a tomar una copa, pero después de ver tanto teníamos comida richards pastel de carne con cerveza, que era muy buena y sabrosa. El personal era agradable, nada fue demasiado problema. Volveremos cuando estamos de nuevo.

Recently been to the Sun Inn for curry night on a Tuesday which was amazing , fresh homemade curry taste buds weren't disappointed. Also been for Sunday dinner again food delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food great value for money. Would highly recommend

Curry night on a tuesday is not only fantastic value at £8 for curry and a pint but some of the tastiest food ive had. Something different every week and something i can highly recommend.

Este es el ideal pub local con una selección de Everards y huésped de tonel. Precioso ambiente relajado y es el lugar perfecto para relajarse después de un paseo por la zona rural de los alrededores. Excelente nuevo menú incluyendo comida especial curry y carne / noches parrilla y comidas especiales los domingos. Música en vivo. Bien vale la pena visitar.

La comida de un pub del pueblo. Tenía la carne que era los padres perfectos y tenía la sobresaliente la lasaña vegetal seguido por el sticky toffee con helado de crema gran relación calidad-precio. Pub ha sido totalmente renovada y con personal agradable. Recomiendo el lugar a cualquiera que busque un giro de salida

Visited on 20th April for lunch with family. Could not praise staff enough for friendliness and attention to detail, especially our server Donna, who could not do enough for us. Also the pub accepts well behaved dogs in the bar area, with dog biscuits behind the bar!

We nipped in today as we'd been walking our dog at Rushcliffe Park & we needed some lunch. We Googled dog friendly pubs & this place came up.The food was very good & well priced. The staff loved my dog & they all came from behind the bar to fuss her. She was even given some dog biscuits & roast beef.It's a place we'll go to again when next in the area.

The Sun is the ideal village pub. Great selection of real ale, including the core Everards range and seasonal guests and a regularly changing choice of real ales from ariund the country. Warm and friendly welcome whether you are looking for just a drink or a meal. Perfect for walkers and those visiting nearby countryside and of course Nottingham. Loads of character, good conversation and good cheer! BY far the best village local for miles around.

What a pleasure to return to this pleasant, no frills, watering hole for a second time. Staff welcome is great and good selection of top class ales. Bar staff recommended Rib-eye Steak as evening special (my favourite choice). This was well cooked with jacket potato and trimmings and speedy service. Probably one of the most tasty and tender steaks I have had in a long time. Couldn't manage a pud as the meal was so filling. This has to be one of the little gems to be secreted into your Sat-nav. Please don't tell others, or we may well struggle to get a table in future. Well done once again, it was well worth travelling eighty miles to eat with you again.

went here for the first time and I will certainly return the food was lovely and well presented service was excellent and friendly and a large selection of home ales to choose from also a very nice strong scrumpy cider

It had been a long day, almost too long as the clock was perilously close to passing last food orders. The beer was tempting and the clock ticked on. Fortunately the landlord/chef took pity on me and I ordered a Chilli/Lime Salmon salad and settled down to a Tiger (happy memories) in the restaurant and got immersed in what is a truly friendly atmosphere (far from full- but a good feel). I would say that the food surpassed expectations; the salad was freshly prepared (rather than let's empty the fridge) and the salmon well cooked. Excellent place which left me in a bizarrely emotional state. Thanks to everyone concerned.

Choice of two pubs along the road - this was the nearest. Good impression from the road.Inside is Oldie Worldie with plenty of space between tables. An excellent choice of Real Ales, although I am restricted to water only!Friendly welcome, relaxed atmosphere, just what I needed after moving my daughters rubbish to her new house along the road.Lunch time menu chose Faggots and Peas - substantial potion followed by excellent home made Bread and Butter Pudding. Pleasantly surprised and would recommend.Think there might be garden outside, seems to welcome families no problem. Adequate parking.

We have now eaten here a few times and last night pushed me to write a review. We love this place it's just right, great choice of beer and the food is always great. Staff are always helpful and welcoming. We Will defiantly be coming back.

I visit this pub on a very regular basis (even though I don't live in gotham) and have always been made most welcome. There are a number of real ales available at all times as well as a good selection of lagers and wines for my partner.The food is first class and always cooked fresh and served by friendly staff.I CANNOT BELIEVE the recent review of pictureframe78 and no doubt they have their agenda - what sad people!!!!!!What I strongly recommend is that you go and try it for yourself - I have no doubt whatever that this pub and restaurant WILL NOT let you down.Have fun and enjoy the Sun Inn.FINALLY I would suggest that pictureframe78 get a refund from their 'creative writing' course or better still re attend but with a positive attitude.

In reply to pictureframe78's unkindly review I feel compelled to set the record straight, so to speak. We were in on the day they visited the Sun & must say the the so called threatening behaviour of the chef was far from what has been described. In fact, if anyone was verbally abusive/threatening, it would be the taste card holders, as the mother's embarrassment by her daughter's actions showed. Truly appalling behaviour by so called adults; those of us who enjoy the Sun on a regular basis request they never return. We value the warm & welcoming atmosphere in which to dine along side of the variety of real ales without the high drama, thank you.

Went to this place with a tastecard which clearly states 2 for one across all courses. This place doesn't stick to guidelines at all.explained before going we was tastecard. But when paying for meals they said starters sweets no included explained to girl even brought tastecard book to show her what it states. Did not want to honour this although she was polite. Next thing chef comes flying out kitchen not listening to what I was saying at all he said don't give a stuff about tastecard waving his hands around and getting aggressive. Next thing he said pay of to clear off to the party of four. He was v threatening and we'll out of order. This man should stay in the kitchen and not deal with the public. I would suggest simion chef gos on a anger management course and learns customer service skills.the meal for saying we paid for large was small my mum had hair on her plate but we never said anything. No menus at all with prices girl stated non avaliable awaiting them to be printed. That's to con and mislead the public.meat was not from a proper joint smash potatoe used n frozen veg.expensive meal v aggressive treating chef a place to avoid totally unless your going out looking for trouble.feel v ripped of conned. I wouldn't of paid amount they was asking but it was my mum's treat a week early for mothers day.I will be taking further action upon this place and want my money back that they fraudulently conned me out of. Just been to The Sun tonight, our second visit and certainly won't be the last.The staff are really friendly, and nothing is too much trouble.Both my partner and I had starters and steak everything fresh local produce, with real chips. Nothing pinged and you can tell the chef is proud of his food and is well presented. The taste mmm omg can't wait to go back with friends.

Change of landlord and new menu, the food is not of the same standard as previously. Unlikely to return to eat there. Also understaffed and a shortage of beer. I hope that things pick up soon.

Just been to sun inn with gf had a lovely 3sausage and mash big portions at £6.50 V happy well worth a visit good real ales will be going again.

I'm not really a 'pub' goer but The Sun Inn is always warm and welcoming, with a great atmosphere. It is also right next to the Taj Mahal which is an excellent place to eat :o)

Although this pub only had two reviews we decided to try because it was close to our B&B and rate in town center. We are very glad we did and ended up going back two more nights. Amy provided friendly service and Steak&ale pie was above average for pub grub. Even vegy's were clearly fresh and ice cream sunday was beter than expected.

Just your average food pub now. Busy at the bar, staff are young and friendly enough, but I wondered who was doing the cooking.A few years ago it looks less tired, had more atmosphere and better service. There are better food pubs aplenty in this county.

We had a family get together Sunday lunch 20th January 2012. We were greeted on arrival & told we could order our drinks from the table if we wished. We had a table for 9 all the food was served hot with a good variety of Starters Main Course & Puddings. The house wine was perfect & the large glass perfect for those not driving. The Vegetables were separate to the selection so you could chose how much you wanted & extra boats of gravy were no problem. My parents are pensioners & meet friends here for Sunday dinner which is why we gave it a go & we are glad we did.
