It has been many years since we had been to this pub, back then it was quite an uninspiring place but I was pleased that the present landlords have done the place up an it is now quite welcoming. It was Sunday so they only serve roast dinner, main and a pudding is what you can get with different size roasts, we had the choice of beef or Turkey, I went for the Turkey and asked for plenty of cranberry sauce only to be told we dont have cranberry sauce yet you could have horseradish or mustard with the beef, who serves Turkey with no cranberry? So the lunch arrived and it was quite bland frozen roast potatoes with no seasoning but the Yorkshire was homemade. I dont think I will be rushing back for a Sunday roast but might give the place another try on a night visit.

Visited on a Wednesday for burger night and was really impressed. The food was amazing and the service from Michelle and the team could not be faulted. A great mix of a great local and also perfect for visitors to the area like we were. Clearly since the photos were updated on here there have been lots of changes and wow are they for the better. All round a great night!

Delicious lunch here on Sunday, 30th August. Roast pork, roast and mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, cauliflower, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding, all smothered in very tasty gravy, followed by sticky toffee pudding and custard. Good home cooked food and plenty of it. I had the small plate and genuinely couldn't have managed the large which was doubled up on everything! Mine was two courses for £8.95. Exceptional value! Will be back again for sure. Special mention for Tiggy who has her own ice cream sundae named after her. Full of fruit, sprinkles, ice cream and sauce it looked soooo good. I'll have that next time 😘.

Eat in and now delivery.... superb. We visited the Five Bells in Morton before the Covid-19 outbreak and what a banquet we had. We tried the bar board selection of nibbles as a starter. A great selection with meat and veggie choices. As there were just three of us, we had plenty to taste. Main courses consisted of fajitas, one meat, one veggie cooked to order from the specials board. Very fresh and very very tasty. Texan barbeque chicken kept the teenager more than happy. Stuffed at this stage, we did share delicious desserts. The great news is that Clarke Catering who run the restaurant at the Five Bells have maintained their very high standards with a prompt local delivery service. Highly Recommended.

New to Morton so we decided to try the restaurant. Staff very attentive, friendly and informative. Gave us background of the restaurant, location and source of the food. Now about the food....everything was so fresh, super tasty and plentiful. Best steak I have had in years. We have since been back two more times, once for pie Thursday....Succulently filled and the homemade beef gravy amazing, and then last night where we had a couple of specials. Always made welcome and remember who we are. Definitely our new favourite. Adam, Kelly and Evie

This is the first time we have tried the Five Bells at Morton for a Sunday lunch since it is now operated by the local company, Clarkes Catering. The main courses are excellent and beautifully presented with beef and chicken always available with an additional roast of the day. One course is priced at £12.95, two at £14.95 and three at £17.95. The drinks are reasonably priced, but bottles of white wine should be served in coolers! I highly recommend Sunday lunch at the 5 Bells. Whilst it is classified as Bourne by TripAdvisor, it is actually located in the village of Morton, 2 miles north of Bourne. I highly recommend Sunday lunch at the 5 Bells.

Reference my last review on the day they opened, we were reluctant to try these again but when we were invited to the Buffs Club dinner last weekend we decided to give it another go. What a turnaround, the horrible bench seats have gone, the harsh overhead lighting has been replaced by something much more suited to a restaurant and the food and service were excellent. The garlic mushrooms were delicious, I had salmon which was moist and succulent and enough to feed 3 people, my husband's turkey was perfect, and the steak pie was cooked to perfection. Credit where credit's due, this will be on our list again to visit next year.

Visited last Sunday to celebrate 3 peoples birthdays including my wife and l. There was a group of 15 of us. The service and food was excellent. Hot and plentiful with a good selection of deserts. The day could not be better until the bills were paid. The young lad in charge wouldn't let us leave as there was a £53 bill that hadn't been paid supposedly. We tried to sort out the error and after 20 mins we found their mistake. Someone had tried to charge us twice for a cash sale. One or two of our group got a bit heated but a lot of patients was given to the staff. However they had no idea how to check their till sales. I had to show them.. Once it was confirmed we could leave l suggested to the young lad that he could make the situation a little better by apologising to our group.....all he would say that he hadn't done anything wrong. Maybe he personally hadn't but neither did our very disgruntled group. I asked to speak to the owner but was told "she won't talk to you" Great customer service...not. On the way out l bumped into the owner and spoke to her about it and she promised to look into it and call my wife the following day. Its Wednesday and no contact from anyone. So l am here writing a review. 5 stars for food 4 star for the table service and 1 star for customer service and experience. 0 stars for the owners interest. Shame

Hadn’t been to Five Bells for a number of years so were looking forward to our evening, having heard so many positives since it was taken over. It started well with a lovely warm loaf, bread and olives which we weren’t expecting. Starter of haddock fishcake was frozen in the middle (and subsequently sent back) and no more portions available. The garlic mushrooms (very few of them) were sat on a barely toasted piece of bread. Mains were ok, certainly nothing to write home about. A lacklustre evening overall and sadly, our last visit - there are so many more local pubs that offer much better quality at the same price.

had heard about the five bells on Facebook and we thought on Saturday night lets give it a go. I called about 17:30 to see if we could get a table on such short notice. Whilst they had two larger parties coming in they accommodated us. We arrived earlier than expected but they sat us down and promptly took our order. The drinks are brought from the pub next door. I ordered Steak and my wife the steak and ale pie. Firstly the plates were well presented and crammed with food. The food it self was cooked to perfection. No frozen veg here and most importantly the steak melted in the mouth, it has been a long time since I have had steak this good!. Prices were very fair and service prompt. There was full disabled access to the restaurant with the only issue being the parking. Thank you The Five Bells in Morton

At this pub the restaurant serves excellent home cooked food at 'pub' prices. The restaurant is a separate entity from the pub, operated by the local Clark Catering company. There is a comprehensive menu, which changes on a monthly basis and currently includes, for example, rich beef and red wine Lasagne at £9.95, and salmon fillet at £12.95 - both dishes with a generous selection of vegetables and highly recommended. There are a wide range of starters and desserts all at £4.95.

The restaurant had just been taken over by a new company when we visited in November and first impressions were that the room was cold and lacking in atmosphere. There was just 1 waitress and the poor girl had to do everything, meet and greet, take orders, serve food, prepare deserts and she had to walk across the car park to the pub to get drinks!! She did the best she could but with the best will in the world the poor girl couldn't have offered a good level of service. She said there was only one waitress because they didn't know how many customers they would have. In my opinion this was a false economy because we certainly won't be back and I doubt whether anyone else there that night will either. We all had scampi and chips, the scampi was a bit hard but the chips were delicious. There was no garnish and we had to ask for tartar sauce. The salt and pepper on the tables had the supermarket labels on them and the raspberries on one of our desserts had mould growing on them! The only good point was it was relatively cheap but we'd rather pay more for good food and good service.

The food quality at the Five Bells remains high as always, but since our last visit, there has been a revision to the menu to include a much wider range of dishes. Back are the favourites such as Beef and Ale pie, which is good value at £9.95 and now a selection of fish dishes. Thought has also been given to the food presentation, with chips (or wedges) presented in a fryer basket and gravy in an individual jug. The 'colourful' selection of veg completes the excellent presentation, all of which, together with the earlier refurbishment, moves this pub restaurant a bit more up market. Excellent and highly recommended.

Came here on Sunday with family for a much needed meal after a long journey. Never visited before but had seen good reviews on Facebook. We sat in the restaurant, two of us had steaks, one had a fish platter and the other had a chicken kiev. The chef (marc) popped out to see us shortly after to make sure everything was ok and then had a chat with us which we thought was really thoughtful and rare these days! Food was amazing, I had asked for ketchup and immediately regretted it as the jus that came with the steak along with the stilton sauce was just brilliant! The service from Tasha was also fab, she was so helpful, friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back! Thanks five bells!!

I had experienced the great value and tasty Sunday Roast lunches in this restaurant a couple of times and so suggested it for our local drama group Annual Dinner. The booking process didn't run smoothly probably because we booked at the end of August for the end of November and the menu's hadn't been set up. Having said this, the service and food on the night was superb and we couldn't fault anything. Beautifully cooked food, large portions and spot on service for a table of 18. Starters were Vegetable Soup, Pate, Prawn Cocktail or Melon Cocktail although there were other starters on offer. For the main course most of our group chose the roast dinner, Turkey or Beef with all the trimmings and plenty of perfectly cooked vegetables including lovely Yorkshire puds, even with the turkey. Other choices were Salmon Parcels and Spinach and Feta Tarts. Desserts chosen were Apple Crumble and custard, Raspberry and Blueberry Cheesecake with cream or Christmas Pudding with custard - all delicious. There was nothing out of the ordinary about the food or its presentation but it was perfectly done and suited everyone of all ages and tastes. I would like to say to the person that gave one star that this was a little unfair, this is a small restaurant and as such can only have on its boards what is most popular. The staff are very accommodating and if they know in advance I am sure they will accommodate vegetarians. My daughter is vegetarian and we always check what is on the menu for her in any restaurant before we book. There are many other diet requirements for a restaurant to consider and most accommodate if asked. Everyone noticed while we were there that there is a weekday menu for only 2 for £10, sounds like a bargain and I am sure we will all be trying this out. My group would all like to say a big thank you to all the staff for a very enjoyable evening. I would definitely recommend the Five Bells, Morton for a Christmas or Birthday party with prices between £17.50 and £20.95 per head.

Homely, unpretentious, delicious and great value is the only way I can describe the Sunday lunch at the Five Bells. The portions are enormous too. The child's portion is more than enough for an adult with a small appetite and the extra large portion almost beat my husband.Even the restaurant is homely and unpretentious with its collection of mismatched tables and chairs and comfortable atmosphere. It took us two attempts to get in to the Five Bells because you really do need to book in on a Sunday because it isn't worth cooking Sunday lunch when you have one as good as this on your doorstep. It is thirty years since I last found a restaurant in Europe that refused to provide a hot meal for vegetarians. This one advertises 'home-made' cooking; however they couldn't even be bothered to rustle up an omelette. The only vegetarian dish on the entire menu was a plain salad. Fish eaters are no more welcome - only scampi was on offer. I was told that the restaurant was run for 'regulars' who are quite happy to eat meat. Staggering attitude.

Visited at lunch time on a Saturday (12 October). Party of six friends and we couldn’t choose because the menu was so vast, and it all sounded so delicious. There was also a specials board with a wide range of dishes to choose from. When we finally decided, the food came pretty quickly and the portions were extremely generous. The food we had was outstanding and cooked with love and passion. Serving staff were so polite and checked on us a couple of times. And the prices were extremely reasonable too. Couldn’t fault it. A lovely tradition village pub in the Lincolnshire countryside a short walk from the Travelodge by the A1 at Grantham. A chance to work up an appetite to enjoy the excellent food and local real ale! The pub was busy for a weeknight and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We were quickly shown to our table, drinks were delivered with a smile and our food order taken. The menu has traditional pub food with good vegetarian and gluten free options for many of the dishes. We both chose the steak and ale pie, which came with fresh vegetables and chips but new potatoes or mash were available. The pie was a real pie with the filling cooked with the pastry and there was a tasty soggy bottom and lots of gravy with beautifully tender beef. We ordered the traditional spotty dick and custard. All the food was quickly delivered and piping hot! Had a really lovely evening. Thank you Check out their website for menu details and Facebook!
