I would just like to say to thank you to all the staff for last night's outstanding service and amazing food for a huge party for our daughters birthday Wow! What a evening. Everything went so smoothly and the food was amazing as always. The chef made sure we had the whole partys food at the same time. Thats a achievement in its self for a large party of 18. Everything cooked to perfection. Not one bad thing to say about this business. We honestly cant rate this place enough to all our friends and family. Nothing was too much for the staff and I cant thank you enough for making our girls birthday. Also a huge thank you to the GM luke for making sure everything was absolutely prefect. Definitely one of our most rated places to have somthing to eat and the new menu. Wow. Thank you again! Wont be too long before we return.

There was 10 us celebrating our friend's 60th birthday, we always go there when one off my friends has a birthday and Christmas, staff very professional, plesent, we always have a great time there

We stayed here last night in our motor home. We parked in the car park overnight. We had lovely food and drinks inside. The atmosphere was brilliant, pub quiz, card bingo, play your cards right. The staff are so friendly and very welcoming and the locals. Nice little outdoor park with bouncy castle for the kids. Dog friendly. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be visiting again

Lovely venue in a beautiful rural location, with a great view out of the window. Could do with a bit of touching up internally and the floor was a tad creaky, but the room was lovely and quiet, and K had a good, comfortable night's sleep. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Really good food as usual. We enjoy eating here, good price as well. Jacks is super, very nice service, cheerful and kind.

After a long absence, I've twice returned to this old favourite. The website enticingly says "We think it's what an English pub should be, with 5 real ales on draft". On both visits there was only one on offer, which twice turned out to be poor tasting and cloudy (Rebellion Smuggler should be clear). On the latest visit, while pulling my pint, the barmaid poured the contents of the trip tray into the glass. When challenged, she shrugged, saying "It's what we do here".  While the building and bar area remain attractive, some of the tables and chairs seem to have been downgraded. One of the two bar stools felt dangerously wobbly, the brace struts having been removed or broken off. There are several pubs within 10 minutes drive offering a good range of draft real ales, which are well kept, well served and good tasting For the time being I prefer to use those instead - and save myself up to £2 a pint in the process.  Sadly, no longer "what an English pub should be" for beer drinkers at least. This is not the Green Man pub of the past.

After a walk up Holcombe Hill the staff were extremely welcoming. Lovely pub snacks and drinks for us and the dog. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful place you feel the history when you walk in a calming place a safe place great place to pop in a probably stay for more than one.we found it by accident and have been twice since . We haven't had the food yet but it's in the agenda.
