The William Shenstone in Dudley

The pub is incredibly dirty every time we visit, the tables, floor and chairs are disgusting. The food is poorly cooked; the chips specifically have been hard and inedible on our past few visits. The staff don’t seem very welcoming and unapproachable to address any concerns with food etc. The pub used to be clean and good for tasty cheap food. I would definitely avoid now.

Poor service in all aspects. Food warm at bes. Waitresses are very false. One woman was to familiar with customers. . Inappropriate dress and talk. Over all very much dissatisfied with the whole experience and need to be more professional.

Cheap prices. Poor beer if on at all. Do keep a good whisky. Food hit or miss.

Fantastic value. £10 pound for a round of 4 drinks on Christmas day. The drinks were lovely no complaints.

The one bad thing about living in Harborne (three miles away) is there is no Wetherspoon. The William Shenstone has, over the years, increasingly become my once or twice a week regular pub. I'm at odds with a previous reviewer who said "been to one you've been to them all". The real ale selection is more discerning than most Wetherspoons, there is usually at least one strong pale ale such as Thornbridge Jaipur IPA. And often the dark, rich Theakstons Old Peculier. My favourite drink is real cider such as Westons Old Rosie or the sweeter Thistly Cross, one of which is available most of the time. And at the time of writing it's a very reasonable £3 a pint, a full pound cheaper than at the Briar Rose and Figure of Eight in Birmingham city centre. Can't comment on the food as I only eat out on holiday. It's somewhat smaller than most Wetherspoons, so has a more cosy atmosphere. The staff are pleasant and efficient. So what's not to like?

First time visit with a group of10 for Christmas, brilliant pub food , great price deals,great staff, table dressed and reserved, will be back, I'm a miller and carter foodie type so when I say I'm happy all round, it's good, cheep with style, staff must get on because it shows, credit to the company

We visit every Friday night and normally there are four men working behind the bar. Kieren is absolutely wonderful. A delight. Eager to help. Caring and I always look forward to our little welcoming chats. The other three lads are equally as lovely, but I keep forgetting to ask their names. A great team 👍

Hangover breakfast, cheap and cheerful. Typical Wetherspoons breakfast minimal beans, extra for the hash browns but had a pint to wash it down and was ready to go again! Well it was my birthday weekend after all 😁

The new Ramen noodle bowl with a large glass of fresh pineapple juice only 6.99 exceptional value. The staff at this outlet of this big chain are all a great credit to the Company and incredibly hard working with always a winning smile. Can't fault the staff.

Nice pub. Staff are very friendly. They work long hours but are always happy with smiles on there faces. Pub is always clean and staff are always on the go. The food could be better but overall it's a bostin boozer. Keep up the great work guys

Good to go to very busy most days some very cheap beers friendly

I was in there this morning with my mother Mrs and child, my mother has very bad back issues. I went toilet, she asked the MANAGER! [BLONDE LADY] late 40s I'd say for a baby chair for my kid to sit on in which she was told 'yes you can grab them yourself from around there [pointed]' the cheek of her to not help her or offer assistance so I came back to my mother carrying it [barely] I ran over and said what are you doing and grabbed it and she told me the women told her to grab it so my mother assumed it was her duty to grab it. She should be ashamed of yourself not offering to carry and saying she can grab it herself. Would never spend a penny In there again based on the managers morals.

Cheap and cheerful. Another massive weatherpoons. Small garden. Haven't eaten here, but food looks to usual weatherproof standard. Nice people chilling as regulars. Good place to o if in Halesowen.

Jürgen Schplergen cleaned a table 14 times yet failed to deliver our peas and chillis to our table. Disgrace

The service is first class, with very helpful staff. Food is delivered promptly but the only downside is the Coffee machine fails to serve Hot Chocolate drink.

I must say, I am truly upset with my experience here today. My partner and I came here for a light lunch expecting the typical spoons experience. We were GOBSMACKED of how delicious, fresh, and tasty the food was. It came in a timely manner. The waitress was pleasant, friendly and informative. She even apologised for the 2 min wait on table service!! When we arrived. There were ample amount of tables, on a Bank hol Monday, and the place was still vibing. The floors and table weren't sticky and we left in disarray, having enjoyed this much more than a typical 5* food establishment. Just shocked! It's ruined all other Wetherspoons for us as we now can't go anywhere else. ruined!!!

Unfortunately food wasn't brilliant.

I think it's time to get rid of the chef! Keep coming in but the food doesn't get any better! Had steak and kidney pudding but there was nothing in it! Really dry, like the mash and the gravy was cold and lumpy! Last week I had the scampi and chips and there was only about 6 chips on the plate! Sort it out!!

Gred for for a weatherspoons and the only problem I encountered was alitle bit of burnt chicken. When I ordered it was really fast and the weatherspoons has lots of decorations up so it looks realy nice

Not 5/5 Vs all pubs, but a perfectly good Spoons. Great value, quiet without music/TV (except for the comically noisy stairs to the toilets), loads of tables, nice staff.

Ordered a bacon, cheese, chicken, and BBQ sauce panini. Needed more BBQ sauce and was barley any bacon, cheese and chicken. Only had one bite, did not want to finish it. Some of the chips were hard, but rest were nice enough. Not great but it's ok.

Kitchen didn't listen. The man who took our order was very clear on what allergens I had and took my order to kitchen. Table staff brought it out with a side salad. I do not want kitchens taking upon themselves to 'bulk' up the plate just because there isn't much on it. That's for a reason I'm allergic to some much!

Was ok however some of the clientele could do with a lesson in manners.

Helping a friend with a catering event locally and visited The Shenstone each day for 3 days before going on. The service was really god with all members of staff being extremely efficient, polite and friendly. The food I ordered was standard fayre but enjoyable. Thanks to the team.

Could do with a really good clean. Toilets were dreadful.

A very nice Wetherspoon staff really pleasant very friendly. Service excellent food excellent as normal served promptly and was hot. Couldn’t fault the food or the service would definitely go back again for breakfast. Would highly recommend this place for breakfast.

Lovely place to go for a “bad” beer as Wetherspoons is known for… Great atmosphere and friendly and welcoming attitude from staff, awesome deals on food and hot drinks. Only £60 for breakfast for 9 people, which includes 9 unlimited refills of coffee, latte’s, tea, hot chocolate’s ect. 10/10 from me.

Usual fare reasonable prices for food and drink. Enjoying the afternoon drinks and meal. Tables need a proper scrub down. We wiped the table as it looked in need of proper clean. Manager did offer to clean it after we had wiped it down

It's a Wetherspoons, it does what it says on the box. Decent food prices. The breakfast was tasty. I particularly liked the fresh fruit salad and the endless top ups of hot drinks. I also liked the art and history on the walls so this Wetherspoons had an interesting theme.

Cheap drinks, friendly staff and good English food.

To be honest, I just went in for a coffee, but this is your typical Wetherspoons pub. The day I went in being a Saturday was busy, but as it is large building had no problems finding a seat after I had been served. There was food being served and looked plentiful, and many people had meals brought out whilst I was there. There was a wide range of drinks available with table service via the Wetherspoons app.

Love a Spooner's, Halesowen is our go to

I'm not a fan of Witherspoons in general terms but we met family there for an evening meal. Food was served promptly and piping hot. We had a good evening and I was surprised to see so many men drinking on their own in here. Main toilets are upstairs.

Great staff , good selection of real ale , food okay for the price

Always order 3 small dishes at Weatherspoons and have always enjoyed until I came to Halesowen. Only one of the three dishes was edible and that was the pizza. Loaded fries had big pieces of half cooked bacon and the chicken wings and blue cheese dip just tasted kind of off. Won’t return for food again.

Just had a some lunch in here with my parents we enjoyed the food and nice friendly pub.

The pub is grubby with dirty tables and grubby carpets. The high chair was covered in food and the coffee machines had not been cleaned. The pub was clearly under staffed. The food was presentable.

One of the better spoons! But once again toilet upstairs

A typical Wetherspoons - plain food but nicely cooked and presented and excellent value; cheerful and efficient service and a spacious interior with a relaxed ambience that made our party's lunch a relaxed pleasure.

Came for a drink a week or so ago but service was slow. Had to wait a while to be served. While being served a server was being shouted at by a short blonde lady who was serving. might have been manager maybe? Didn’t seem like the best work environment😬drink was ok. Will go elsewhere in future

Terrible due to staff members thinking they own and the costumers are wrong every time The lady who actually runs the place is brilliant I think the others have been here for a few years longer and think they should have got the job before her

Saving grace was helpful staff and a refund, letdown was two atrocious servings of mauled steak! £14 for "gourmet" steak & drink, first was anaemic, raw and mostly gristle, also unannounced flavour coating! Sent back to the kitchen, second steak also came out raw and it looked repulsive, and no sauce. My partner ordered the pie main, and was disappointed to discover it was kiddy sized also half inedible, gravy boat bigger than pie. but he ate what he could, because he's a bloke ... Won't be back for food in a hurry!

Usual place was closed so tried here. Wish hadn’t bothered; beans, egg, mushroom cold. Coffee, sausage, bacon & hash browns just warm
