Had a great time during our visit! The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Whether you're looking to relax or have a fun outing, this place is definitely worth checking out!

We have been to the forge today for lunch as it was our 31 st wedding anniversary, the service was excellent as was the food, this place is the best place not only for its food but also it’s friendliness.

Really had a great experience after a terrible experience somewhere else (we had booked a table and got turned away!) So decided to come here instead on a busy Friday night. The team were really friendly and helpful and the manager was super! The food didn’t take long to come out and was hot and fresh! Really enjoyed it our night and will definitely be back soon.

Went for a wake.. never been before.. never had heard of the place as I'm not from the area.. looked at the menu which looked good.. Will definitely be going back to try the food.. drinks prices good.. an the blonde lady an the lady with the dark hair an glasses were brilliant.. service an customer service 10 out of 10

Good quality food, at a good price. Did not have to wait long. Excellent customer Service all with a smile. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Lovely way to spend your Sunday Lunch time. Highly recommended.

Good Pub food at a decent price

We were running very late because of traffic, they kept our table for us although it was busy in the pub. From the moment we ordered our drinks until we left, we had the best dining experience considering we had not been to this pub before or knew any other pubs in the area.

Lovely welcome by the staff who are all really friendly. The food was lovely, quick service and very reasonably priced. Plus the place was immaculate. Thank you to all the lovely staff.

Attended a wake and the buffet was diabolical, hardly any filling in sandwiches and they were stale.

Very disappointed, got there for a booked table and was told we had to vacate the table in 1hr 20, for a wake, by the time we had our food we had 50 mins to eat, didn't have time for a 2nd drink, sweet or coffee. They had plenty of time to let us know the situation when checking the booking. I would have cancelled and gone somewhere else. We just felt uncomfortable and felt like they wanted to get rid of us. The food was nice but atmosphere on this day wasn't.

Went here on a works night out. Great night brilliant atmosphere. Food was marvellous cooked to high standards. Service was great well defently return. Highly recommended.

On the two occasions, I have been to The Forge since the renovation I can safely say I've thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The meals have been lovely and the staff are tremendous.. Going above and beyond with their customer service. There truly is nothing to complain about. The menu is extensive and a good choice for all.. Hopefully it stays this way, as I will continue to return if it does.. Great job guys

Just wanted to thank you for a really lovely time on my 50th birthday celebrating with my family, staff, food, service absolutely fab special thanks to Jodie.

We attended a wake at The forge this week. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive and the buffet was delicious. The hot food was hot and the sandwiches were fresh and tasty. The forge is set in a lovely location and less than five minutes from Gornal Wood Crematorium. A really good choice. Thank you very much to the staff.

Came for a birthday meal, food was out very quickly. I completely forgot to say I wanted my daughters food plain. They made her a fresh meal without even asking. The lady was very helpful throughout the night, cant remember her name but she had short hair, just wanted to say thank you to her.

Went for Sunday lunch because had a 30% voucher off food but really disappointed had 2 beef dinners was cold on the plate was 3 carrots 4 week old sprouts and one sprig of broccoli red cabbage was not fresh the mashed potato was made from packet smash won't be visiting again

Was impressed with the staff here. Friendly and hard working. They obviously like their jobs. A mistake was made with our order (1 meal too many). They let us eat the extra meal and refunded us for it ✌🏻

Really enjoyed our visit, popped in for lunch, we were greeted as soon as we walked in, ordered via QR code, drinks and food arrived quickly, food was really hot and tasty, will visit again.

Very close to crematorium. Lovely and homely. Staff were very accommodating & sympathetic. Excellent separate area and plenty of food (cold & hot). Food and drink was well priced & nice.

On arrival, greeted with a happy smiley face, very friendly young lady. In fact, all the bar staff were welcoming and lovely people. The standard of the drinks was excellent, and the food was tasty and plentiful. The price was good compared to other pubs in dudley where I've had lunch. If I lived within walking distance of the forge, you wouldn't get me out of there. I'm not overstating the 10/10 rating I've given.

Staff are very welcoming, always good as gold with the kids, nothing is to much trouble and food is lovely 5 stars all the way

I made this booking for a wake. Jodie helped me from the start of the booking through to the end. Paying the deposit was an easy process and I was able to add extra people within a few days of the event. The silver package had the correct quantity of food for our group. The food was fresh and good. Jodie managed the event for us and was on hand to answer any queries about vegetarian options and allergens. An excellent service that I would recommend to anyone.

Excellent service and wonderful food. The whole team were working hard, we were seated quickly. Everyone was friendly and definitely recommend. We had our little dog with us and the team couldn't have done more.

Came here for family catch up havent been here for quite some time .Felt one member of staff was abit in your face while we was waiting for the rest of our party team member seem to be a nuisance. Food was overpriced for amount of plate size we got and drinks were highly priced too wouldnt recommend it at all it didnt seem very busy for a Saturday can see why.

Lovely Christmas family dinner. Staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble. Had the pate and hake of the Xmas menu the pate was delicious and the hake melted in the mouth. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning

The food was lovely, and the staff were very polite and helpful. The tables are well spaced

Nice clean pub with a nice atmosphere.

Came here for the Christmas menu food and it was very underwhelming. The food is very basic. The place is kept clean and the staff were nice but let down by the food. The pate starter was very nice but the festive Mac and cheese was a huge letdown. Lacked cheese in the Mac and cheese or that it had it but you couldn't taste it as the cheese used must be very grade. Dessert was nothing special either very stodgy. Overall I would not come back for the food but the beer was good.

Very good service, staff friendly and genuine, food good quality and served hot and in good time. Very reasonable prices and good menu choice. Tables not too crowded so felt fairly private even in a busy pub on Sunday lunch. Large car park so well worth a visit.

The restaurant itself was fine, food arrived quickly and staff were really pleasant.. portion sizes and food was great.. However.. we were seated in an area with another large family with a lot of children.. would not normally be an issue at all as we had a little one with us ourselves.. the young boys in the group were playing football indoors.. which at first was just irritating until the football got launched at our table hitting my mum and her plate ending with it on the floor.. she was also sitting next to my 18 month old nephew.. a few inches to the right and it would of been a direct hit to his face.. it also luckily happened that we had just removed the glasses as this could of been a lot worse with broken glass all over the place.. we then complained to staff and were told “we will have a word with them” which never happened.. we instead were given evil stares by the other family for the remainder of their time there.. to the point that my mother was in tears as she felt very intimidated.. I understand this behaviour isn't the restaurants fault.. but surely customer safety and welfare should be upmost concern and we did not feel this way.. it was a birthday celebration which we all left feeling upset and frustrated. As I stated I know this isn’t the restaurants fault per say as all the staff we interacted with were lovely… a real shame that the experience was tarnished so much by other people and the lack of care for us.

We live 100 miles away and were recommended The Forge for my sister's wake in September. Jade, Sarah and all the staff were really helpful and friendly in helping organise everything . Buffet was varied and dietary needs were catered for. Thankyou .

We held a wake for my late mother Pamela here, it's very convenient after a service at Gornal crematorium. The Buffet was excellent, and the room had a nice calm, respectful atmosphere. Staff are excellent.

First time we visited, was a lovely chill atmosphere with friendly staff who were very accommodating as I was running late to our booking. The food was lovely, shame we didn’t have the room for dessert - we will visit again.

Had my mother’s wake here today and the buffet was excellent. Good choice with a combination of hot and cold food. Would highly recommend this establishment.

The Forge in Pensnett is a brilliant place! The staff are so friendly and always go out of their way to make you feel welcome. It’s rare to find such genuine, attentive service these days, and it really makes a difference. The food is always spot on – tasty, well-cooked, and a great choice for any occasion. We’ve enjoyed it so much we’ve already booked to come back at Christmas. If you’re after a cosy spot with great food and even better service, The Forge is definitely worth a visit!

Needless to say we are booking up for boxing day and I've tagged my mom and sister along so there will be 6 of us. The food was amazing steak was cooked to perfection. Love this pub! I rediscovered it 30 years after first going there. I never forgot it but couldn’t remember where it was. So glad I’ve now found it again 😀Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Went on Saturday 19th October 24 at lunchtime. Ordered breaded mushrooms as starter, then fish and chips. Food arrived promptly and was beautifully hot. Staff pleasant, nice chappie experience.

A large group of us, we were served quite quickly and the meal was well cooked and presented.

We had a lovely meal tonight at The Forge. lovely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and attentive,couldnt do enough to please us . We had the fish/ Chips and peas. I must say the fish was rather large with a light crispy batter with chunky tasty chips to go with it.It was very clean and the lighting was very good and i could see ( for once) what i was eating. We will visit again and have no reservations about recommending here to friends and family x Thank You x

After visiting here several years ago,we thought we would give it a visit, upon entering we were welcomed by the person behind the bar, we were shown to our table after ordering drinks and began to look through the menu, our food arrived and we were all impressed with our chosen dishes which were hot, tasty and value for money(made even better by the voucher I had). The staff were attentive asking how the food was and seeing if we wanted more drinks, will definitely be back in the future.

Been here a couple of times with my family. The service and food have been exceptional. The staff are very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food has been delicious on both occasions with very quick service. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere with the tables well spaced out. There's also a lovely garden area with beautiful views

Our youth club members have all thoroughly enjoyed their meals and puddings yesterday at The Forge, Lower Gornal Burgers and puddings for over 40 people 👏 Highly recommended as a venue to host community group meals. 5 of us Arrived 8pm on busy Saturday evening. No reservation. They found us a table no problem. Food nice and came out quickly. All staff polite and attentive. Would recommend.

We booked a table for 33 for my nephews 18th Birthday and The Forge staff couldn’t of been more accommodating! Communication was great as there were quite a few of us, food was top notch as was the service, very friendly staff & new manager Nicki was lovely! Play area out the back which the kids took full advantage of, everyone had a great evening, thank you all!

Just called in on the off chance for food and a drink, Fantastic service!! by Nikki the starters came out red hot gave us time to wait for our mains to come out and by god when our mains came out piping HOT you don’t get this service from a top end restaurant.
