Just been here. Walked in and immediately out. Customers made us feel unwelcome. Obvious regulars staring at us as if we shouldn't be there, bad language and rudeness ( burping loudly ) doesn't make a good atmosphere. Won't be back!

Thought we would try it again its been a few years from the last meal not good! But was pleasantly surprised with staff greetings and the meals were lovely. We will certainly go again has it is on the doorstep for us. So keep up the good work your doing there lovely place to relax in many thanks

Ordered nachos . Nearly £10 came with no cheese . Definitely not enough to share . Also ordered gammon egg chips peas . No peas , no explanation . And only a tiny portion of chips . Not worth the money . Shall not be going back .

Can see why was an empty restaurant. Went in for a drink and thought would order food while there. Bar man friendly and directed to a table. A few dirty tables with glasses. No waiting staff So thought would order through the QR code but the online menu didn’t match the physical menu. No one to ask. Left after 45 minutes. Looked like a manger busy chatting behind the bar. Maybe a dozen people including outside to be looking after.

Amazing atmosphere, fantastic staff, food is too die for. Can't wait to come again.

Other times we have come to The forge were funerals so nice to celebrate a birthday. (Took birthday cake in earlier same day.) Waited to be seated and lady who is given cake to earlier said oh that’s yr table 7 over there. Son thought it was odd as I hadn’t given my name to anyone for booking! So spoilt the surprise cake as he knew something was going on🙈 But food was all nicely prepared and tasted lovely. Will be back.

We had the steak deal and it was gorgeous! Lovely friendly staff. Clean toilets and great atmosphere. Could not fault. After reading reviews I was dubious. However,I was proved very wrong. Excellent disabled facilities.

Our experience on 25th August was fantastic. The food quality was great, and at a reasonable price. There was a bouncy castle, a colouring area and Elsa and Spiderman characters for the children to play with.

Visited this pub for a wake following a relatives funeral. They put on a lovely buffet and the staff were very respectful.

As always we had a great experience. We were greeted by Jade and Jodie with lovely welcoming smiles and built rapport with us straight away. The service was efficient and nothing was too much trouble. They created a lovely atmosphere.

After visiting here several years ago,we thought we would give it a visit, upon entering we were welcomed by the person behind the bar, we were shown to our table after ordering drinks and began to look through the menu, our food arrived and we were all impressed with our chosen dishes which were hot, tasty and value for money(made even better by the voucher I had). The staff were attentive asking how the food was and seeing if we wanted more drinks, will definitely be back in the future.

Haven’t been for a long time but wow we were so Impressed last night, food was delicious and served in a timely manner, staff were polite helpful and hard working. Went above and beyond for us to help celebrate our mom’s birthday. Deffo will be visiting more often. Thankyou so much to the staff.

Not too busy (as we like it)! Food was lovely (my husband had fish, chips and mushy peas - great, only thing missing was the option of curry sauce! I had a cowboy burger with fries, thoroughly enjoyed it - cooked to perfection.

Pre 2016 was an amazing place my favourite. The 241 offer has long gone which was a local favourite There is no longer a specials board. I do admire the small wooden play area for children (not toddlers) ample benches too. Food can be mediocre.

Congratulations to Cheri and the team 👏 14 of us went for a late lunch, and the food was excellent, especially the roasts. Service was top notch, and we even got a bonus, with 30% off the bill. Not only would we all recommend the Forge, we will also be making several return visits in the future.

Lovely food delivered in really good time. Staff working really hard and very pleasant. Altered meal options for us particularly a vegan option for one if our party which was well appreciated.

Never again...went some months ago...lovely manger fine food couldn't do enough so we thought we'd go again.....miserable staff....ordered and our drinks and starter arrived 15mins...hardly anyone in....OK.....45 mins later our main hadn't come so decided to pay for what we had had.....didn't charge us but won't be going again

Ordered steak and ale pie pastry was uncocked through middle now bearing in mind this is not cooked fresh on site.. I knowingly knew the pie wouldn't been part cooked. Short crust pastry was soggy crisped outside which tells me the pie was put in a high temp to just get the meal out.. there wasn't many ppl in but there was a lot of reserved tables maybe the cooks were getting ready for something bigger... the staff tho on the other hand dealt swiftly with my complaint the barmaids were so bubbly and even gave me a free pint as an apology.. I would definitely come again.but not on a Sunday. The starters were very good my partner really enjoyed her Sunday dinner albeit it they had no Yorkshire puddings ... love the fact the pub is also dog friendly they even have dodgy treats on the side in dog area...as of water for dog I couldn't comment as we carry our own water but I couldn't see any facility's for dogs drinks..

Great choice of dishes, good food quality and speedy service. Friendly atmosphere and staff. The outdoor area was as clean as the indoor and there was a decent size area for children to play. Our group had the mixed grill, hunters chicken and gammon steak. All of which were perfect and recommended. Previously tried and recommend the beef lasagne as well as the steak and ale pie. Highly recommend to any and all as we will surely be back.

Food wasn’t great, fries were stone cold, gravy looked like below. Over an hour wait before food came to the table, I don’t think enough staff work here which reflects in the service.

The welcome was great, the food was amazing and the service we had from the staff was wonderful from beginning to end! We had vouchers to use which were easily dealt with and as there was a lot of us we had to order food on two table but it all came out together and it was hot!

Friendly atmosphere with really nice food. I feel like the fries could have been slightly better quality as I believe the burgers are £13 and with better fries ( skin on fries for example ) I would be happy paying even £2 more. Otherwise, everything was really great and I will be visiting again.

Very disappointed Bought my grandkids out for animal lady and booked table at same time Waited an hour still no food. When questioned says still at least 3 tables behind Was not told of delay as not many in when we arrived Asked for refund which took about 20 mins and walked out with other guests still waiting

Sarah was an amazing host, we were a party of 23 and she couldn't do enough for us.

Currently still waiting for my order of chips (have so far waited an hour and a half exactly). Staff are very grumpy. Can't comment on the quality of the food because it's so far nonexistent. Edit: received food 10 minutes after this initial review. Chips were nice but I found a suspicious hair at the bottom of the bowl (please see attached), thus sadly rendering the last two chips inedible. Do not recommend.

Terrible, hour and half to get served, my 9 year old could cook a better meal, not been for 2 years won't be going back for at least another 2!

We had a group of 14 Mistry elderly ladies, for a lunch deal. We are a charity organisation . We were treated with kindness and respect as well as excellent service. The food was hot and nicely presented and everyone enjoyed it.Thank you to Jade and Sarah .

What a shame let down .I had a chicken burger and fries the fries cold hard and and 15 of them if that, wife had hunters chicken and chips a little peace of chicken and an handfuls of chips they looked like children's 2 meals with one round drinks £35.00 ,god help families

Just had drinks nice chill out on hot day

We arrived unbooked, we were told the only seats available was in the bar which wasn't an issue. Ordered using the app - drinks came out straight away. Then Ordered food [Gammon and chips & Surf and turf] at the bar - food took a good 45/50minutes to come out, looked lovely however the steak tasted off?! I could not eat it which was a waste, however the rest was ok. A big let down as it was a celebration for us both. Noone checked if the food was OK but I'm guessing it's cause we was in the bar ...

Food is ok but a bit overpriced for what it is, nice staff though!

We held a family gathering for about 80 people at The Forge, after a funeral at the crematorium. They looked after us really well - the food was good quality, plenty of it and enjoyed by all. The area marked out for us to sit in all worked really well and they also let us put up a projector screen to display photos which was a really nice touch. Thanks for your help - you made a difficult day that bit easier.

Great place to watch the football great atmosphere staff seem friendly enough which is a good thing defo be returning soon

Very disappointed with the service and the food was very average, nothing special and my partner had to wait about half an hour or more for his desert of ice cream. Then when it came it looked like it was just thrown into the bowl messy. The service was not good and the tables looked messy so did the place. Not happy at all . I don't think we will be back for a while until it improves.

What a fantastic venue with great service. Gammon, steaks, burgers and even the lasagne has always been top notch. Been coming here for twenty years for many an evening as a couple or as a big friends group they’ve always catered for us well. Highly recommend 🤗❤️

Food was tasty. Service was very good, also staff at the bar super helpful with our granddaughter when she had her her hand.

Visited today with partner and mother for a Sunday Lunch at 3.30. Was very busy on arrival and not told when ordered up to 45 minute wait for food order. Wanted Turkey but they had run out so went for the Chicken waited for ages 45 mins. Came looked ok to start with but not hot enough and the yorkshire puddings though impressive in size couldn't cut with the knife so gave up. Despite 2 of us having the chicken meal 1 portion was significantly larger than the other when both should have been the same and all 3 of us were so disappointed with the meal. My husband was quiet lucky though he got 1 pea next to the brocolli which he hates anyway was was supposed to be seasonal veg but this wasn't as out of season. My mother got the waitress to heat hers up in the microwave but my husband and I couldn't be bothered to ask as well. Still didn't enjoy it though. Would have complained but so busy and noisy around us just wanted to get out. Was first and final visit to this pub. If you want to serve Sunday lunch it should be hot without a 45 minute wait not sure if better to only serve between 12.00 and 2.00 wish we had tried something else instead. We eat out regular so expected better.

Booked a table for 7pm, food didn’t arrive until 9:00, the pub was very quiet as well. The temperature of the food felt as though it was cooked on a heated argument. Service wasn’t particularly friendly. Don’t recommend.

Food was fabulous we had 2 steaks cooked differently but both perfect. Staff Katie Jodie and Cherri were very friendly and helpful all in all a very pleasant night will definitely go again

We decided to visit has we are moving near by, it was lovely environment, staff were friendly and inviting. We ordered food which came promptly, nothing was to much trouble. Garden was nicely kept and theirs a park for kids, so family friendly. Lovely decor. Reasonable priced. Good selection of soft drinks for kids. Will be visiting again. Thanks guys

The Forge hosted a wake for us and they were completely faultless. There was plenty of food, they had sectioned off part of the pub for our group and put my family photos out. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I would recommend The Forge to everyone.

Kerrys attitude totally stinks and its the head chef !!!! Dont say anything cause it won't like it it's all her/him way or the high way avoid avoid avoid avoid avoid !!!! Very nasty attitude and mouthy to paying customers disgusting vile mouth

Customer service throughout was great I was with a friend and my 2 year old daughter and the staff on was very friendly and welcoming and make sure everything was ok. Food was lovely too which is the main thing! Will be coming back again for sure!

Lovely garden. Neck oil is eye wateringly expensive at £6.55 per pint (at time of writing this) and there's not much other beer to choose from, apart from a couple of lagers.

We were a large party (38) and with the help of the team we pre-ordered and every meal was as requested. The staff went above and beyond to assist us with anything.

We visit here regularly with our youth club members. This evening we visited again with 38 members and volunteers in total. Every drink order , meal and pudding was perfect and as ordered. Members commenting the best hot dogs and burgers, delicious puddings too. Thanks to all the staff at the forge for been so accommodating and welcoming to us once again. Came for a Wake, staff were great, and the food was lovely. Was nice to come back after so long of now being here. Didn't buy any food this time as food was provided because of the Wake.

come here often with our toddler, especially for the Mozerella and cheddar bites as I craved them in pregnancy and now our new arrival is here the craving still hasn't gone away. we visited last week (8th), as it was sunny we sat at the bottom of the beer garden next to the slide so our 2 year old could run around. this unfortunately meant that the waitress had to come and go from the pub to where we were sitting to serve our food! she was lovely and laughed about her getting her steps in. they didn't have the kids pasta on this ocassion so they made a small portion of mac and cheese which was lovely. they also had no cheddar bites :( but offered us alternatives and recommended the halloumi fries so we had them, gave us extra in the portion and they were absolutely delicious! always gorgeous food and great service everytime we go. thank you x

I had my Mother's Wake at the Forge with a buffet. Can't fault the service, staff or food. Very pleased with the afternoon. Everyone commented on how good the buffet was and the area that was set aside.

What a fantastic place with great staff who go out of their way to make your experience special. It was a sad occasion for our family but we were made to feel at home and nothing was too much for them. The food that they put on was so good and there was a fantastic selection to cater for all requirements. Price was really competitive don’t know how they did it. I can’t rate this place highly enough and just want to thank them so much for all they did.

Very well looked after by very accommodating staff. Nothing too much trouble for the lady who attended to us. Food excellent ' Pub very clean and good decor. Drinks good and glasses clean. Couldnt ask for any better

Excellent service, despite being short-staffed. Speedy food and attentive staff. The chips are “to-die-for”, and the Hunter’s Chicken scrummy. Only negative was the very large handful of plain arugula, which is always bitter and unappetising by its nature. A different salad leaf would be more appetising and appealing. Other than it, I cleaned my plate… Washed down with a couple of pints of Inch’s cider. Job done. 🙃 Would recommend to others without reservation.

We've been here a few times now and every single time the service has been fantastic. The staff look after customers really well, the food arrives quickly and tastes great, and it's really good value for money. There's a nice garden too with a small play area for the kids - great for beer garden weather. The Forge is a local hidden gem!

Where do I start we were a booking of 11 to celebrate my sons birthday, we ordered our food which we were still waiting for at 7.15 (our table booking was 5.15) my great grandson who is 15 months old and used to eating his tea around 5.30 ish was getting a bit upset as he was hungry and fed up of waiting for his food. There wasn't any eggs for the gammon, no half roast chicken so my daughter ordered Turkey dinner, our order started to come out when we were told no Turkey so she was offered a chicken breast by the time her dinner arrived most of us had finished. We have been coming to the forge for years and never had such meals majority of the meals were luke warm and on average we have waited 15 to 20 minutes for our food the one end of the bar was covered in empty glasses it was obvious that the place didn't have enough staff. We had our meals refunded and just paid for our drinks which was a very nice gesture but it did spoil my sons birthday meal. I know it wasn't the staffs fault and in all due respect the staff where lovely.

Visited on the 16th of April at lunchtime before my friends cremation. And was warmly greeted. Had a cappuccino but no food or sandwiches. After the funeral , I and a group of us 4 in total returned for a few drinks. The atmosphere was great. Had 3x Guinness's first one was sort of rushed poured and ended up being a 4 point pour ? The other 2 were great. Different server. But in her defence, she was rushed off her feet. From what I was told, the food was very nice and looked very nice. No hot running water to wash your hands is a letdown
