Warm welcoming pub with great beer and good pub grub serving a cost friendly classic menu. With a separate lounge and bar - The bar is dog friendly. Nestled in the scenic saltwells woods, definitely worth a visit, especially after a walk around the nature reserve or simply visiting for a nice meal. Recommended.

Nice and cosy pub, the fires were on when we visited, great meals, good competitive prices, very nice staff, the pub gave off a friendly vibe. Couldn't rate the rooms as we only had drinks and food.

What a hidden treasure! Don’t be deceived by it remote location and traditional Black Country building. Once inside it has a very welcoming atmosphere, tastefully decorated with a modern twist and the food is second to none. We found this gem for somewhere different and boy we weren’t disappointed. We received a wonderful welcome from the staff, found a free fireside table and took ages to choose what to eat as everything sounded so delicious. We ordered at the bar and chose a selection of beers before sitting back down for a catchup. In no time at all, our food arrived hot from the chef and the portion size and quality of ingredients really needs to be experienced. We thoroughly recommend the Saltwells Inn and congratulate the team for a fantastic visit! We have found a new regular place to eat but don’t tell everyone, it’s our secret!

Pleasant pub, staff very friendly, food good for the price

The food here is amazing. I had the Caribbean hunters chicken. It was out fast, hot and delicious.

Went there for Sunday lunch with my girlfriend, great food and range of ales and ciders , very friendly and efficient service, prices are very keen too. Will most certainly go there again. Also its right next door to mouse sweet and saltwells nature reserves so ideal if you want nice scenic walks.

Can't fault the food,staff friendliness or cleanliness of the pub . Only problem is there isn't enough choice of drinks for diabetics only water or diet coke

We visited the Saltwells Inn yesterday for a family celebration and It was a wonderful experience. All of the staff were extremely pleasant, professional and helpful. We ate in the bar area because we had 2 dogs with us. The bar area was very clean and the young man who served us was very polite. There was plenty of choice on the menu and when the food arrived it was delicious. We all left feeling very full and we will definitely be visiting again.

Staff and food was lovely there was 8 of us and we all could not ask for any so a big thank you guys from start to finish x

Lovely family pub. Great beer garden and kids play area. Never had a bad meal. Staff are so lovely and helpful . Make sure you sign car in on the tablet to avoid fine. Although I did get fined once and they totally got it squashed for me as they knew I'd been in. Very dog friendly to :)

If you’re in a low signal area why is there not decent WiFi. Had to stand at the bar for a good 15 mins as you don’t accept Monzo so I had to transfer to another account only to then be told minimum card spend at the bar is £5! It’s a hot day and I wanted a can of pop so then had to order 4 cans of pop for me and my son, bar staff are miserable and extremely slow on service won’t be coming again after being a customer of many years

After a rotten year so far, my husband and I decided to go out for a meal (our first meal out in literally months), and really wanted it to be a decent evening. However, this was not to be... On arriving at The Saltwells Inn and ordering two soft drinks (a pint of diet Coke and a Vimto) we were given a pint of Carlsberg and a Vimto. OK, no biggy, didn't complain, just drank them - nobody wants to work on a glorious Sunday evening, right? So we didn't make an issue of it. We ordered a starter - a portion of Nachos, and mains of Fish & Chips and Hunters Chicken. This is where it really went downhill. The starter and the mains arrived TOGETHER. What? Why? How is that acceptable? The Nachos were completely inedible, obviously microwaved to within an inch of their life and just a rock solid mass. We sent these back but were offered neither a replacement nor a refund, just a simple "sorry about that". The mains were OK, large portions (their saving grace) and served hot. However, the chicken was a little rubbery, microwaved possibly? We decided not to order a pudding from the DESERT menu! Yes, desert. Seriously, please get your menus spellchecked! Overall not a great experience, pretty disappointing in fact. Think we'll give this one a miss in future.

Visited today with family, been many years since we were here. Service was excellent, Staff very friendly and helpful. The children loved the outside play area. Food was nice, big portions, will be returning. Thank you for making our visit so pleasant 🥰

Came here for the first time with friends yesterday following so many recommendations. We weren't disappointed. The food was cooked to perfection. The BBQ pork loin was beautiful. Service was spot on and the staff very welcoming. I will definitely be calling here again.

Popped in for a sit down after walking the Saltwell Nature Reserve with my dog, we were greeted by a lovely young lady who shown us to the dog friendly area where I had my order taken. We went and sat outside, lovely garden area and very peaceful. The service was amazing and the food was great! Will definitely return if I am ever in the area again🥰

Great place for some refreshments and food after waking the hound. Dogs allowed in the bar and garden. Food is generous and the prices are incredibly low for what you get.

Sunday lunch was amazing, well worth the money 10/10

3 adults went to have a roast dinner two pork dinners one beef. I have to say it was the worst dinner I have ever had. Everything was frozen the peas carrots, sprouts stuffing ball yourkshire pudding and the roast potatoes. The mash was from a packet and the meat was like boil in the bag. No apple sauce. It looked thrown together. If i wanted that i could of gone to Iceland and thrown it together in 10 minutes I will not be returning again very disappointed 😞

Did not stay here but had a meal. Steak pie with chips. Pastry on pie was grossly undercooked very sloppy. Reported this to staff but did not seem to care. Will not be returning again.

Great value for money Sunday Carvery.

Had my dad's wake here last week. The staff were brilliant, and the buffet was lovely, and plenty of it! We have had several large family meals here in the past, and the food is always excellent value for money, and the staff really friendly.

Today could have resoled my shoes with the beef. Food is usually ok for the price but what makes it good is the staff. Always kind and helpful, however, today, in front of customers a particularly kind and helpful member of staff was rebuked for just that. Enquiring politely about my wellbeing he was sharply reminded that another customer was waiting. So rude, and made me feel so uncomfortable. I generally go there at least once or twice a week and jokingly refer to it as my second home. I frequently organise large groups of family and friends to eat there but think I'll find somewhere else. So sad.

Me & hubby popped in for our dinner today, we both had the steak & kidney suet pudding from the specials board.... hubby being a Northerner loves his puddings and it didn't disappoint 10/10

Had a great pub lunch here today a first time visit. We received a very warm welcome. Our food was served by friendly staff it arrived hot the food was cooked well and tasted good. Good value for money. Hope to visit again soon.

What a lovely meal we had for my husbands birthday friendly welcoming staff large proper cooked food would highly recommend

None of the waiters get any tips at all, they have a money tin under the bar where the waiters have to put the tips in and they don’t get any penny of it, desserts are frozen and put in a microwave so it isn’t fresh, the plumbing in there is done by a man which is drunk and has a YouTube video next to him showing him how to do it and he also does the electrics and he has no qualifications what so ever so it is dangerous to even be in there and he also has fitted the boiler. The owner is extremely disrespectful to the waiters if they ask him a question they are stuck on he verbally attacks them. The waiters do not get a break unless it’s more than a 4 hour shift. They are extremely unhygienic, the cooks use their hands for everything and rarely wash their hands, a male chef went to the women’s toilets done a number 2 and did not wash his hands. Toilets are never cleaned and there is not a cleaner for the toilets.

Took my family for a meal here. There was 7 of us altogether. Staff was very pleasant and professional all meals came out at the same time and was piping hot. The food was delicious and ample serving and the bill was very reasonable. I have eaten at other places were cost a lot more and the food wasn't as nice. Will definitely be making this a regular place to dine. Thank you for a lovely time

I liked it more before the housing was built nearby, but they still offer decent enough food for the price. Never stayed in the rooms as we are local.

Beautiful pub and amazing service. They were able to accommodate about 25/30 of us for a meal with no issues.

Came for my sisters birthday lunch. Food was 10/10. Atmosphere was perfect. Can’t fault a single thing. And then they brought the birthday cake out for us. Let us put a banner up. Staff are polite and always checking everything is ok.

everyone was hungry and we all came out full. The food was exceptional with plenty options and plenty food. I think there was a lot of food the sharer plate for 2 was very filling for 4 people and the burgers were very nice

Nice meals good choice and not to expensive

Great place to go after a dog walk, especially as parts of the pub are dog friendly! Classic pub food. You know what you're getting when you order it and the prices are fair. Sadly, there is a limit to card payments. You have to spend over a certain amount to be able to pay by card. If you only want a couple of soft drinks, you'll likely have to pay by cash or size up to be able to buy it.

First time visit and it will definitely not be the last. Happy helpful friendly staff. Food was superb and was very spoilt for choice.

Great meal....excellent price and value for money

Ordered food the man was rude, I asked for salmon salad instead of chicken salad (salmon was on menu also) I was told no I can’t have this so I said I had had this before so asked the chef who also said no then some other guy at the till was lovely said yes just charge for the salon, asked if I wanted everything with it I said yes please as pleasant as I am croutons etc, pic below is as it came, peas where extremely hard and dry like they had been sat there for hours, we’ll you will see below the picture as to why I didn’t eat it. Also children went to bar for crisps this same rude man says they can’t sever children crisps ( only pub we have ever been to that haven’t sold children crisps) The waiter guy bringin the food out was lovely so couldn’t fault him so pleasant.

We come to Saltwells a lot to walk the dogs and have had a few drinks here so decided to give it a go for Sunday lunch. Service was good and food was fresh. Starters were bought out quickly and were really good. We had chicken wings, nachos and garlic mushrooms. For mains we had 2 Sunday dinners (turkey and beef), 2 cottage pies and a spicy chicken burger plus 2 kids meals. Cottage pie was good but a small portion. Sunday lunches were good although my beef was a bit chewy. Chicken burger was great and the kids meals were nice and a good size. Lovely pub in a great location. I would eat here again but wouldn't have the Sunday lunch again.

Arrived early but when we did get in, we loved the new layout and the service was good. Food was lovely and hot & freshly made.

We did not stay we went for lunch. The food was very good served hot very tasty. The staff was friendly but distant and the restaurant was very cold but to be fair there was another area we could have sat at however we did not see it until we were done.

We come here with friends for a meal and drinks the service was excellent and the bar staff were very friendly and we are all 6 of us coming back next week

Stopped off for a bite to eat after shopping, meals came very quickly and were quite big as you can see. Bar staff were very welcoming and warm. Nice little visit if you are passing. Don't forget to enter your car reg, though, when entering the pub as it will result in a fine signs all round tell you this. Bar staff supporting those not so technical in doing this, which was nice to see. Will deffo drop in again 😁

Sadly for the first time at the Saltwells can't say we enjoyed our meals. I had the Cornish Pasty my partner had the beef slice. The Cornish Pasty was less than half the size of a normal pasty and had obviously,like the beef slice been microwaved to heat it up so was soft rather than a nice crispy crust. Chips were nice thats about all I can say. The waitress asked if we had enjoyed the meals. Did tell her there was a problem with the pasty and slice but sadly didn't seem to matter. I've been told the normal pies are home made so next time I'll try one of those and fingers crossed it won't be zapped in the microwave.

Having booked an Xmas family get together for 38 people , we couldnt fault a thing .. All food orders came out as expected with very little wait at all. Only downside was our lot drunk all the Thatchers Gold.. Didnt effect me as i was on Guinness.... Thank you Steve and Team for a great night...Oh and Dean but i think he is semi retierment.... Excellent Staff and meals are awesome. A menu needs to be to the point without too many choices. Theirs is spot on Yet another 5 star visit ..just had to return.. Steak pie.. Chicken and Bacon pie Special.. Both gorgeous..... Bar staff excellent. Glen very helpful where drinks concerned. Steve just very helpful in general. KEEP IT UP PEOPLE.

Have to say I really enjoyed lunch here. Nice pub, food was fresh, hot, tasty and reasonably priced. The service was excellent and friendly, first class. Overall I would highly recommend it.

I've always loved coming here especially in the Summer with my nephew who loves the playground but after coming last week and my mom overhearing servers/ staff members preoccupied with their extra curricular coke sniffing habits, I probably won't bother for a while. I sincerely suggest they start drug testing their staff members.

We'd been away for the weekend and really fancied a Sunday Lunch on the way back home so we stopped off at the Saltwells........so glad we did! Absolutely delicious beef dinner with all the trimmings and very quick service too. Will definitely be back to try the other food on offer as that sounds absolutely delicious too. Thank you for rounding off a lovely weekend for us.

Great value for money, familys meals were great but mine and my daughters steaks were a bit chewy and not the best quality meat. But for a tenner they were ok. Great clientele and atmosphere, I will be returning. Lovely pub and great staff.

First time visit after a wet walk round the nature reserve. Dean and the rest of the staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. 2 meals for £15, great value. We had steak and ale pie, chip, peas and gravey, proper hearty food. Definitely will be making this our 'after walk treat' again.

A friend took me to lift my spirits (health getting me down). The prices are down right cheap compared to the venue and what you get. It was lovely place, disabled access was easy (wheelchair might struggle). Definitely a place to go back to

Turkey bap with gravy and chips : lumps of dry turkey with grisle and skin chunky chips some of which were hard and tasted of cooking oil Childrens fish fingers and chips: overcooked dry fishfingers Cheeseburger and chips: doubt the burger had ever seen beef messily put together on bun accompanied by limp salad

We had a family meal here today and the food was lovely and great prices. I used to play here as a child so it was a nice trip down memory lane. One thing that really stuck out to myself and my family is our waiter Tyron/Ty. His manners were impeccable and he seemed so genuine! He’s a credit to the Saltwells. The rest of the staff were friendly too. Will be returning.

This pub is lovely for a meal out at any time of day but lunch was delicious and owners were very friendly and helpful.

One of the worst food/pub experiences I've had. On entry the place smelt like a greasy spoon cafe. The place looks grubby and the toilets had no soap. Our reserved table had not been wiped and there was food, dirty napkins underneath the table. Our food arrived quickly enough apart from one meal which came 20 minutes late with a 'sorry. We forgot'. When the microwaved curry eventually arrived, the accompanying rice was cold. The Sunday roast was horrid - clearly microwaved. The stuffing ball was a hard crunchy pocket of air and the chicken like rubber. The gravy tasted very strange. Such a shame really because it's in a nice location next to the nature reserve. So maybe okay for a drink after a walk but I wouldn't recommend you eat.

Lovely experience and fantastic food would definitely come back. Deserves more than five stars more like 500 stars for friendliness.

Lovely venue for a family meal. Good variety of food and specials always changing, excellent food and great value for money. Always a warm and friendly welcome from great staff. Will be back soon
