Food is as lovely as always. staff are very friendly and just generally a great atmosphere

Me and a group of friends came to glassworks for a meal together and it was fantastic, Dani and Steve the chefs cooked us some brilliant food no complaints. Will be coming here again!

Although there was nothing outright bad about the experience, there was also nothing that stood out as good. The staff were quite friendly, the new layout of the place was not welcoming or particularly pleasant, but it was clean, the food was average and tasted ok, but not worth the £85 that it cost. They have recently moved away from their previous branding ( I believe it used to be Generous George and now it is Marstons) and it has only brought it down. Overall, it was functional and nothing was terrible, but I will certainly be looking elsewhere when I want to have a family celebration in the future. It may be great for some, but for me and my family, it was a disappointment.

When first arriving in the door, not a single member of the staff said hello or even smiled at us. We found a table and sat down to order food and drinks. We went up to the bar to order and was told a 30-40 minute wait which was understandable considering it was a busy Sunday afternoon. After waiting 30 minutes for food, we asked a waiter how much longer of a wait it was going to be. She went into the kitchen to check then came back to us and said she didn’t know what food we were talking about and couldn’t find our order. We then relaid our order back to her and she went back to find out what was going on, 5 minutes after this she returned with our food. I had the halloumi fried which were rubbery due to the fact they had been over cooked. The lady sorting the tables out, I believe her name was Carole made me feel uncomfortable multiple times whilst eating my food as it was clear she was stressing over tables and bookings due to arrive. She walked past the table I was sat on, as she was stood a step away from me she gave me a dirty look and then went onto look at her watch. I understand the concept of it being busy. However, when you have a paying customer sat eating food a certain level of polite manors is expected especially within the hospitality industry. She made it quite apparent multiple times she wanted people off the tables they were on so they could be used for bookings. I understand people have booked in but the people already sat on those tables have already put so money in the till. I found that whole situation quite rude. Other than that the main course was okay. We then went onto order desserts there was an additional 20 minute wait for desserts which again was expected so is fine. However within that wait time 9 members of staff walked past the table in multiple directions and continued to ignore the empty plates and glasses stacked in the middle. When the desserts arrived this is when the waiter took the empty plates after she put down the new ones. When trying to eat my dessert, the salted Carmel chocolate brownie was still solid and the base was basically still frozen so wasn’t edible. In the whole 2 hours I was sat in the premises not one staff member spoke to me or the person I was with or asked about the food or anything. Considering the glassworks has just gone through a refit you would think the staff and the service would be better, if I wanted a poor service I would of taken myself to a Wetherspoons and spent less money

lovely interior great parking area with plenty of spaces. we visited on a very busy Friday evening but didn't wait long to be seated as we booked a table the staff were very friendly and cheerful we had drinks while waiting and ordered via the app and didn't wait too long considering it was busy we shared a starter and had a burger each as a main unfortunately my bun was burnt I don't like to complain but the bun is the star when you order a burger anyway it was replaced with a fresh one and I was happy with that , although my partner dined alone while I waited for it to be done , overall would i come again? yes possibly when it's a little quieter.

First time here, the bar staff Sam and John could not have been more accommodating and enthusiastic! A really nice vibe, there were 12 of us and they could not have done more. Food and drink selection good. We did a quiz that was also really fun! Highly recommended by me!

Great food, the pub looks great, Sam served us and he was really helpful.

Recent refurb has enhanced the experience. Good value, great service and friendly staff. Ideal if you’ve children as the outside play area is gold. Regular offers keep me coming back as a family group.

Used to visit here regularly around 2014 to 2016 with no issues. Visited again in 2017 and noticed a change but gave it a couple more tries but it just seemed to get worse due to the very slow service and quality of food. Visited again with a friend after hearing it had a refurb so was hoping the service may have improved also. Shocked at the price of drinks £6.20 for a pint of Old Mout bar staff were pleasant though. Managed to get a table, surprisingly, but again disappointed with the service. 50mins waiting for 2 starters no cutlery or condiments had been put on the table and this went ignored when the food was served, asked for sauce which was never given to us and I had to find a staff member to provide us with cutlery from the kitchen. To be honest it was a Saturday and it was busy so we anticipated a wait and I can understand why things like cutlery and condiments weren't already set out but no acknowledgment or apology. Mains came out as soon as we finished the starters but again no cutlery provided so having to ask for cutlery again. The seating around the toilets is ridiculous far too busy, your having to squeeze past people whilst they are eating or asking people to pull their chairs in so you can get past to get to and from the toilets because the tables are too close together. The crazy thing i noticed was the dart board being used whilst people are eating. I gave this place another go but its safe to say I shall not be visiting again.

Absolute idiots not 1 member of staff who tried to take our order didn't know what day it was let alone the time...hence we took our custom elsewhere...maybe check the excuse young staff and manager on that day! As for refurbishment...where was this on the upstairs loos where so called manager appeared after 20 minutes of trying to place food order 🙄

after the referb the prices have increased and the portions have shrunk! Ordered the doner kabab meal which is supposed to include a salad. there was no lettuce, a very small half piece of cucumber, and a very small amount of tomato! the amount of meat was also for for a kid than adult! Even the gammon meal was small, and the gammon steak very tough Won't be returning

Visited after refurb and v swish looking, food ok, service seemed a bit slow even though it was reasonably quiet. Overall an ok visit but not brill visit

Wouldn’t bother going here! We popped in for dinner and a drink and the older lady waitressing on the 1st march in the dining area was so rude as we hadn’t booked and basically told us to get out. Whist walking away she did shout we could eat out there (the bar area) The tables were nearly all empty but with reserved plaques on.. Pub itself didn’t have the homely vibe as before and all sectioned off with clicky groups everywhere. The tables were also dirty and no where to sit anyway in the bar area. We walked out and we won’t be back. Maybe a revamp of the staff is also needed I’m afraid!

Part of order was 2 x medium to well done steaks. The blood was oozing out of them both. I sent mine back but they only took the steak and left me to eat the fries and then I had the new steak after 20mins. I would have expected them to replace the whole meal and not for me to eat it in sections! I hadn’t started it so I wasn’t looking for free handout! My sister managed to eat the other one but didn’t enjoy it. Staff were lovely though .

Iv recently had a meal here. Lovely food and staff. But the lady called Barbara needs a medal. She was flying around running food everywhere. You need to get more staff to keep this place going. All staff were excellent but stressed as it was so busy. It was a long wait for food but worth it when it finally came.

Pub refurb has definitely enticed more customers. Lorna eagerly served drinks and I tried the new on the menu hot dog pizza which was delicious. Becky checked on our table to see if we needed anything else and promptly cleaned up after eating. Team are clearly working hard!

Shocking service. We had not been for a couple of years but thought we would try it following the recent refurbishment. Initially it started good, ringing ahead at 6.40pm to see if they accepted walkins. Which they did and told us we would not have a long wait. When we got there at 6.50ish a table had become free and they had reserved it. Ordered food on the app and that’s where it ended. After waiting for at least 40 mins and watching a number of meals coming out the kitchen we enquired where our food was for table 37. My husband waited for the waitress to come and tell us, she never came over. After a further 20mins I waited and asked a different waitress. She came back from the kitchen and asked the bar for table ticket. I explained that if the starters hadn’t been started after 1 hour (now 8.10pm), forget it and we’ll have our money refunded because we have an 8 yr old that is hungry. Bar staff couldn’t have been more apologetic whilst refunding our £28. We will not be back. No idea what happened in the kitchen tonight but it was far from good service. Especially judging by the amount of people requesting refunds.

Poor service, dirty tables, missing booking, wrong meals, slow service, all handled poorly.

Chose scampi chips and peas from the lunch deals menu. Wasn't expecting a huge meal but I expected something more substantial. The amount of food was something you would expect to be dished up for a 5 year-old!! When looking up the menu online I found the exact meal as "for bigger appetites" on the children's menu. Beware, the lunch menu is actually a child's meal, as it was two adults dining it didn't occur to me to look at the kids menu. I would have given one star, but the food was quite tasty.

Always used the glassworks as our local including all family celebrations!! Popped in tonight for a few drinks and a few games of pool…. Extortionate prices, was given blackboard chalk for our pool cues, was as hotter than a sauna and was not welcomed by the staff at all!! Very disappointed and will not be returning, lost its happy atmosphere that over the previous years has been great and the reason we have always returned!!

Food was delicious & staff polite & friendly.

Went there in a busy Friday night which was also valentines. 3 times they had to go back to the kitchen to fetch something which was forgotten and which point food was cold altho it wasn't very warm to start with. When questioned they said was training staff I wouldn't chose to train staff on one of the most busiest nights. However drink service was quick and the manager did her best to seat us without reservation as was fully booked up. Food was good would of been lot better if was hot.

Came in for a family meal on Friday night the atmosphere was amazing what a brilliant night the food was was fantastic Carol was outstanding will be back

Went out for a beer and a meal with friends the staff was really frendley and Barbara cleaned our table for us after some kids left it messy food was really good but beer was overpriced will be reccmending to family and friends

Prebooked before attending and was shown to a table, but this was a little too cramped as it was a booth. We asked to change and was immediately shown another more suitable table. The order was taken at the bar and the staff member could not have been more friendly or helpful Made sure we had ordered correctly and gave us a tray for our drinks The food was delicious and arrived quite quickly, (starters). These were cleared away before our mains arrived and additional cutlery brought, which was gratefully received. Everything was hot and brought out very quickly, so that our whole table of 5 could eat together Very happy customer , who will definitely return for another visit soon

Went out for valentines meal with my husband the staff was fantastic and the atmosphere was really nice food was excellent service very good will be recommended to family and friends

We went here today for valentines day, I can't say it was a good experience, the steak was tough as old boots & the chips were dry, we mentioned it to a waiter & he just said ok I'll mention it to the chef, then we never saw him again, £40 wasted, very disappointed & i can't say we will be back 😠

We visited the Glassworks earlier this week following the work that has been carried out. It looked very nice and it was lovely and warm, although a little quiet. Money is tight for everyone at the moment so that could have a lot to do with it. The menu unfortunately was not that exciting. Just standard pub food, some changes to the menu would have been nice. Staff were very pleasant and friendly although the barman was very busy on his own. We will try it again at some point.

Newly refurbished, lovely pub, family friendly,lots of screens, sadly quite expensive,£6.50 for a pint of beavertown! Food slightly more than other locals.

Good value for money / most pubs are now out pricing themselves

Came with 3 other people, no one served at bar was shocking waited about 10 minutes for a man to approach us whilst we waited for a drink. Food then came however i was only served mine, the 3 other people i was with had to wait meaning i had to eat on my own otherwise it would’ve gone cold which ruins the point of all coming out for a meal. One of us had to go and ask about food waiting times as it was turning into a joke. Won’t be returning. Staff are half soaked and barely any staff working on the bar or serving. Food was also not worth the price.

[clue on photo - says posted *2 years ago] No mistake, im no liar! but I'm glad you pointed this out as you can see the difference in how it was presented then, to this years sad effort. 2) sides - a couple of mins late ??? more like 15 mins. photos shown are date/timed stamped. 3) A couple of rounds of drinks??? correction - you offered one, after we had just bought a round, but when we requested the complimentary drinks later, we got questioned like we were trying to steal the crown jewells. and as for calling you to discuss these matters, how about you call me. I'm still waiting for an apology.

After the major refurb we visited to check it out. We didn’t visit for food only drinks so cannot comment on value or quality of food. There are a few things that I feel could be improved upon. Service - many more staff, hopefully this will continue, Otherwise service will suffer. I do think the separation of bar to food lounge is a bit weird but might work. There were a few flaws with it though. Firstly the door separating opens inward to lounge so when a server came with two plates of food to deliver to bar area she couldn’t open the door and had to wait for a customer to open it for her. The ladies is still located at the back of the pub so if in bar area you have to walk all way through the food lounge area. Not a big issue in itself but the arrangement of the tables and chairs effectively blocked my way to ladies and I had to shuffle around seated customers and ask someone to move. There was a selection of 4 draft lagers but having ordered one it was served in an ale glass so after a couple of sips it was dead flat, easy fix if staff know which glasses to use. There was a hiccup serving us as member of team warmly greeted us, asked us what we wanted and then disappeared. It turned out he had asked another member to serve us but didn’t tell him what we’d be ordered. That team member asked us if we were being served and we said yes, because we thought we were. So we were left standing there not being served at all. Then we noticed original team member on his phone away from serving area. We beckoned him and mystery solved. He then did actually serve us. Also because of the separate areas I would expect staff to be assigned to one or the other but there were times when there was no member of staff in the bar area at all was they were in lounge area. Overall there is a definite improvement from before but that’s because service was really lacking prior to refurb. I can’t help but feel it’s the honeymoon period and if service slips to how it was before it will let the whole place down. It looks and feels nicer in there due to redecoration and furniture. Let’s hope it works as it’s in a great location for repeat visits

Very impressed with the refit. The whole feel of the place was a massive improvement. We were greeted by genuine smiles and assistance from all the staff. The food was excellent and served hot and in good time. The only small niggle we had was there was a wait to order food and drink at the bar due to queues at the bar, but I guess that was due to the fact that it was the only a couple of days after reopening

Arrived and greeted by a very friendly staff member, was told to choose any free table I wanted, ordered food and drinks without any fuss. The food (pizza and nachos) were fresh, hot and well presented, the pizza's were extremely tasty and very enjoyable, the nachos were very nice but not quite enough cheese on. Overall a very good meal at a great price and great customer service.

Went today on the soft launch of newly refurbished pub.Fantastic experience.Food and staff spot on.The steak and mixed grill was 😋 yummy and waiting time was 👍.laura our waitress was friendly and never stopped 🏃‍♂️ running around making sure everyone had everything they needed

Food was good portions however were not large enough. I sat with a group of about 14 which was next to another group of about 10 The one waiter who served us both was very good at his job but with a little help am sure that he would have been quicker and better. This lack of assistance may account for the fact that my table and seating area didn't seem to have been thoroughly cleaned between a previous guest and myself as I got sticky stuff off the table and chair on my person. As a tall guy a bit more space to prevent having to move to let persons pass is always ideal.

Lovely local pub near us. The food was yummy 😋 and drinks great. All the staff are fantastic, especially Leanne and Carol.

Good honest pub grub. Great for kids, indoors and outdoor playing areas. About to be refurbished (Jan 2025).

Excellent pizza party. Children all enjoyed it. Ordered extras and they were served promptly. Very friendly staff and a lovely night.

Stevo, fi fi and riane gave me excellent service and food, my pizza was so delicious and they made me feel super welcome :)

The staff went out of their way to help us from being seated to the delivery of the food. They were cheerful and bright and made the experience an excellent one. We have been disappointed in the last with other venues on Boxing Day but this was worth every penny and Ill be looking at coming back!

The staff were rushed off their feet. They were lovely and attentive. My grumble really was the size of the hunters chicken portion.... might aswell of been a baby hunters chicken, very tiny and the onion rings were tiny... alot of chips, which were okay. Whent tonight on a Tuesday week before christmas. Could only get a table at 19.30. Eleven people. Got there no body in the place. Closing half the pub seating area off.we thorough for tonight. No tomorrow. Felt all night rushed. I had to ask for the table to be cleared so we could order dessert. Then Told kitchen shut in ten minutes. Still no body in the hole pub at 19.30 .felt not wanted. Never going again. Drinks are extortionate. A wkd blue £5.75 how they change these prices I will never no .food good .welcome abysmal.

The food was excellent, great prices and so much of it. The dough balls are a must!! We were a family of 11 and everything was perfect. The staff are also very friendly. We were lucky enough to take part in the quiz and it was great fun. Highly recommend.

Food was nice but the portion was small. Had burger and chips and it looked like a children's meal. Staff got mixed up with the food and a drinks order and for so close to Christmas there was no atmosphere. Compared with the bankfield inn which I got to quite a lot I was disappointed.

We don’t usually eat in chain restaurants but we stopped here for practical reasons meeting family. Food was good and of a decent standard actually better then expected abs we all enjoyed what we had and it represented good value

Good food, cooked perfectly, nice selection of veg , large portions, had xmas menu value for money excellent, staff who waited on us were brilliant made our night for ladies xmas meal thank you all so much we will be back .

Fantastic staff, excellent food and fairly priced. The quiz is also lots of fun on Thursday night. We will absolutely be back again soon.

We visit a lot and have always had good meals but I had the hunters chicken tonight and it was dire… dry chicken overcooked bacon, dry and tasteless chips and a very suspicious looking tomato … not sure if chef has changed but change him back quickly … very disappointed

Waiters were very polite and attentive. We had pre-ordered the 3 course festive menu. The food was lovely, and plenty of it, was served hot. Had no complaints at all.

First time visitors for a family meal. Food was fantastic. Pub was quiet as was a weeknight with no events on, but looking at the schedule of events the team clearly put in a lot of effort to entertain.

Go there regularly. Food is excellent especially mac and cheese with pulled pork. Best one ever at pub or restaurant

Lovely spacious pub, however clearly lacking staff members! We went as a party of 14 to celebrate my granddaughters 3rd birthday, as a party we all ordered starters but only 3 came out together and the rest had to wait for theirs a good 15 minutes later, staff tried their best with mains but again members of the party left waiting and no table service regarding empty plates etc so we cleared away as best as we could, good point was food was lovely but felt for the limited staff running around like crazy!

Food wasn't the best here, sorry to say. Starter.... ( chicken wings ) were cooked too much and were burnt Main... (Hunters Chicken) it was very rubbery and hard to cut,the bacon was burnt, the tomatoe was burnt black the chips was nice thou. Plus side the staff who was front of house were lovely.

Really good atmosphere in the glassworks and service was very good, Sam w, is a credit to the pub.

Food and service were good. Spoilt by 4/5 young children running around screaming and shouting (not in family area and parents nowhere to be seen). Believe parents were off duty staff. Great for them but not for us.

Great pub. Bar staff are really friendly. Music is a nice touch. Wetherspoon prices. Pool table and play area for kids.

Came Sunday evening I am absolutely amazed how the staff handled a situation that was going on the manger on Duty took full control made sure everyone was safe well done to the lady manger who came to us all to explain the situation she is a credit to Marstons will be back again soon

Great afternoon. Lovely staff. Food good & reasonable price. Entered quiz & ended up winning it to our surprise. First visit to celebrate my son & husbands birthdays. My 30mth old Grandson loved it as Xmas decorations were up. Will definitely visit again.

Slightly quiet on a wet Wednesday evening but thats not the pubs fault. Food was banging. Danielle and Stevo did a great job. Ordered a pizza and some burgers for my mates. Good portions and great taste. Will be back.

There food is absolutely terrible I had Sunday lunch surpossed to be half a chicken can not describe it though maybe it was some sort of bird but definitely not chicken so small we had 30% of price even that was over priced they served us 45 mins after we ordered one of my party had steak that also was disgusting will not go again

John served us today and was very friendly. He even tried to give us a scare with the Halloween animatronics. Always a great place to come especially with children because the park keeps them busy.

Food was lovely but when we arrived at our reserved table there was still dirty plates 🍽 , cups & glasses left on the table. I asked one of the servers (a women with long dark hair) if our table could be cleared/cleaned and waited 15 minutes & no one bothered to clear it. My hubby ended up clearing the mess away himself.

The Food is amazing and the staff are friendly it has ease of parking and a kids play park outside and toddler area inside.

Foods great. The staff are amazing and helpful. And it has a park at the back for the kids to play and a massive carpark
