Since when did you start charging for sauce on a bag of chip. They already cost almost £3 and now charging 40p for a small amount of sauce. Just keeps getting worse at that place

Ordered a delivery. Kebab meat and chips with salad and sauce. Well it arrived and the chips were barley warm ,hardly any kebab meat, the salad was in a plastic bag and the sauce was in a small container, l have never had a kebab like this before it's always been everything on the kebab so the sauce soaks through , never again.

Asked for fresh chips got home and just barely warm plus the portion is tiny for 2.99 cost.Second time this has happened.I checked with the guy who served me and he said they were fresh when obviously they were not.Will avoid this chip shop from now on.Not impressed at all and completely overrated reviews.

The food is great, but the customer service is horrendous. Didn’t even feel like I was wanted at the place. Unfortunate really.

Freshly cooked fish to my desire and it was very very tasty.. recommended and value for money

When you Get home to eat your tea to find 4 pice of Donnor meat n some chips asked for medium when to me it’s a small I asked for Donnor burger an chips n was rude about it as when I asked as they don’t do it as meal so instead told them sell me a burger bun never goin bk lost out on 25 qid a week

Rude rude rude service. Put a small portion of chips in for the cost of a large. Called to explain, they hung up, then proceeded to ignore all calls. Twice this has happened. The manager even yelled at the member of staff who treated us this way and apologised. Obviously the manager isn't always there because the staff behave this way when he isn't around. They swear and shout at you as well. They cut the phone line when you repeatedly try to call. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

HORRIBLE FOOD THEY CHARGE 420 FOR A SMALL BAG OF HORRIBLE CHIPS.. WONT GO THERE AGAIN.

Thank you all at Blue Submarine. During my husband's recent illness and his stay in hospital. The people of the Blue Sup have kept me going. They are all very polite, kind, friendly. The place is spotless. In my opinion The Blue Sub is the best fish and chips I have ever had.

£4 odd for a large chips and came in a tray with about two handfuls absolutely joke. Burger overcooked and nuggets rock hard. I really don't know how this place has any awards!

The staff are always friendly, the place is always clean and the chips are always the best you can find the whole Black Country over.

My wife grew up down the road from this chippy and always raved about it, now we're back living in the area and this is the best chippy I've ever used! Always busy but always quick service, gorgeous food and will be a weekly visit from now on.

Ordered on line for home delivery .. thought we would try them as we haven’t used them in a very long time … absolutely shocking ! Most of the cone of chips were rock hard .. kebab was tasteless cold with salad in a tiny bag ( dunno why ?) ordered large cod two small ones in two separate trays came .. flat tasteless hard batter in parts only decent thing was the tub of mushy peas they where only item that was hot temperature wise ! Won’t be using again considering the price n quality of food .. total waste of money .. soon we opened the wrapping it was instant regret just the look of the food wasn’t appealing at all .. shame really as we always thought they had a great rep ..

Ordered for the family via the online website. Took over an hour for the food to arrive, food was greasy and not very hot. Battered sausage had been packed next to fish which my partner could not eat as he is allergic to fish. Been ordering from here for years but if this is the new standard I won't be ordering again!

Kebab was nice but could have done with more sauce not just a blob in the middle. The guy that served us was quite rude

PLASTIC IN FOOD TONIGHT. I order from here a lot, but tonight i have found a big chunk of plastic (at first it looked like glass) in my kebab, Wont be ordering again.

What can I say about the blue submarine apart from, it's the best fish and chip shop going.

Good taste for Fish & Chips, chicken burger was also good but southern chicken fries was bit disappointing.

The last 2 times I've had food from here it's been absolutely vile, the first time it made us ill we were actually physically sick. Then yesterday thought I would just have chips after the last experience, disgusting they were and the prices are ridiculous for the scoop of chips you actually get. This place has really gone downhill compared to what it used to be. Last time I'll be eating from there.

Sometimes the chips can be under cooked when there's a rush on or sometimes perfect, it's a gamble every week

The food's good, but they'll keep getting orders Wrong, they just wanna serve you and get you out. The shop as fast as possible They don't listen to what you're saying you shouldn't have to tell them no salad on the burger twice and then have to shout across the shop at them as they doing it because they're about to put salad on it food good service appalling

I feel like I’m a connoisseur of fish and chips I. The Black Country, we always have the same, a mini fish and chip special. We came around 4 years ago to this place and it was amazing, unfortunately we can no longer say the same, the battered chips had next Toni batter, the were not crispy and the mini fish was ridiculously small but the mushy peas were ok. It cost more than in surrounding area so not good value for money.

Fish was dried up , chips not much better, as if they'd been kept warm for hours. Been here before and usually spot on, but not today. Won't be going back anytime soon.

Battered chips are crispy and lush. Best in the area. **update** Went there on Friday and still good but it is really pricey now. Fish and chips was £9.20. I can go to a restaurant for that much.

DO NOT ORDER! Ordered off JustEat and no food was delivered. Called the restaurant numerous times but received no response. They have taken the money out of my account!!! Do not recommend at all.

I went in tonight ordered kids burger meal chips was fine the burger bun was rock hard my son couldn't hardly bite into it proper disappointed when you travel from sedgley because food normally quite good worst meal I've ever had from there 🙄

fish and chips cold , salad pita bread did not have any salad just chips and plastered in mayo the guy who served was very unprofessional don't know what there awards was for but certainly not for there food, won't be going back there.

Have been using Blue Submarine for easily 15 years. Food is always great but unfortunately, since the refurb the portion sizes are nowhere near the sizes they used to be. The new plastic trays are half the size of the previous bags!!! We get the feeling they are consumed with the ‘Uber Eats’ orders and the traditional take away side is suffering. Just returned with food for family of 5 and every one of us is disappointed. Mix kebab and chips was very poor. Hardly any meat. I’ve given 4 stars as historically they’ve been great. I hope the management read this and listen to a loyal customer. We’ll give them another try but unless they get back to normal, we’ll be going elsewhere.

Chips used to be great here I don't know if it's under new management or something but went there other day and all I can say the chips have gone from being too notch to horrible Wil not go there again

Ordered a quorn vegan burger, when it came out realised they had cooked a quorn vegan fish burger, which I told them wasn't what I ordered - finally after 5 mins discussion thought they were cooking me a quorn vegan burger. This is what I got (I removed the bun & salad). WILL NOT BE WAISTING MY TIME BUYING FROM HERE AGAIN.

Came here Wednesday with my daughters & niece, ordered them some chips to share while we been out at the park, staff was very friendly and helpful, food they had looked delicious and I ordered a salad portion which I absolutely enjoyed, they have a vegan menu with vegan pie and vegan burgers, has a vegan I find it hard to find chippy’s offering vegan food but this place does. Place looked immaculate and clean, couldn’t fault it at all. Will return for sure. The shop has access for wheelchairs. Recommended!

Used this chippy because the one I normally use (closer to my home) was closed. The staff were very polite and friendly, food was very tasty and excellent quality. Good portion sizes and value for money prices. Will definitely use again if and when my local chippy is closed.

Chips tasted of the cardboard box they were in, and the cardboard box smelled horrid (chemical smell). Very off putting. Much better to be wrapped in paper. Very expensive and quite greasy food.

My quest for decent fish & chips in and around Dudley has been more than satisfied today .... Cod & Chips cooked fresh and they were perfect....the best I've had for a long time ..... I can't comment on the kebab meat but would urge anybody who wants outstanding fish & chips to give this place a try .it's bloody fantastic !!!!

Looks really nice good lay out but came in in the week and was one price and day after came in and was a pound extra I don't mind but bit steep I understand ur expansion in the place and ..onionrings you say tasty onion rings they look like on ur menue they use southern fried but received plain batterd .. possibly would be better southern fried onion rings matching ur picture great staff tho

Not sure what your cooking chips in, or whether it's the cardboard boxes that you are using. The chips don't smell the best, and have a strange taste. Please swap back to wrapping in paper.

Meat measured in a small cup! Overpriced, Dry pitta bread charged for sauces for on the kebab. This chip shop isn't anything special we've had much better. Staff only seem to know the words "next please" no other dialect

Sorry to say it but the blue submarine has sunk to the bottom lately. Value for money is no longer and the £8 minimum card spend is a complete joke. Needless to say I went elsewhere close to the blue submarine and no minimum card spend and much better quality food. It’s a shame because it used to be a great chippy but now it’s mediocre at best and the portions are pretty poor. There’s better very close to this place with better value for money and better quality. Another lost long time customer.

Went last night for kebab and chips x 2 Absolutely awful. Service awful. No personal touch. 'What dya want? Here you are. Next please'. Asked for garlic mayo and hot chilli on kebabs but were dry as full of shredded cabbage when got home. One pitta not even toasted correctly and fell apart, impossible to pick up and eat. Chips were only thing ok. I'm afraid our beloved Blue Sub has totally gone to pot. Eat elsewhere.

Waited well over an hour for delivery. Item missing from the order. Rang them asked for a refund they promised me they would send a credit note in the post, but never arrived. Was once a favourite chippy of mine but will not use again.

This is now our local chippy for a takeaway in the area. There are chip shops closer but none compare in my opinion. The staff are always friendly and it's always super busy here. But the staff are super quick and I'm never waiting long. My only issue is that for the level of speed and service you get you pay the premium for it. But the quality of food is always good so it's just the going rate. Would really recommend coming here if you're near the area, this hidden gem I worth it.

Not nice - again. In fairness, quantity, not bad but considering its apparent awards, quality is seriously lacking with everything we have tried from the menu, Fish, very overpriced for the quality (it does not taste like cod, is not large, and batter stodgy). Battered chips were bright red and hard. I have now learnt my lesson, and will not be returning again.

We had kebab and chips which was nice and fish and chips could not eat the fish it had NO taste and a funny smell alot of money to put in the bin and staff really need to listen too order's repeated my self three time .

Sorry to say that the quality isn't as good as it use to be, chips were not fresh and fish was not good enough, very thin and over cooked, batter was not fresh. Very disappointed. I know times are hard but for these small business to survive they have got to raise their game.

Awesome chippy, it is by no means our local chipshop so only recently been using in the last year or so. The cod and chips are absolutely phenomenal, and so are the kebab meats. 4 different meats all stunning. I have no issues here at all!

Clean. Polite. Straight forward service. Food …. Piping hot. Nice battered chips without a greasy over taste. Curry sauce…. Disaster. If I shut my eyes I wouldn’t be able to tell you I had curry. A real shame because the rest is 9/10. But if you like curry sauce. Perhaps have something else as it was tasteless.

This is the best food we have had from a fish and chip shop we have now had quite a few meals from here all perfect always have delivery always pipeing hot. The fish is just perfect in a crispy batter had the roe tonight realy large like 2 in other places kebab meat is given in realy generous portions battered chips are lovely best ever .yes it is more expensive but worth every penny

I used to love the quality of the blue submarine but since moving away from the area I hadn't been there for some time. So I went in as I was close, Big mistake, like warm greasy orange chips & bland tasting fish like nothing I've ever tasted before. Safe to say I won't ever be going there again.

Erm this place used to be 'award winning' but I really cannot see what makes it any better than any other chip shop locally?

Always loved Blue Sub and used to make a special journey to eat from here. Haven't been for a couple of months and the portion sizes are now miniscule compared to what they were. Ordered our normal, we always used to have leftovers but tonight we're filling up on bread and butter as barely a handful of chips with each meal
