The duck was excellent. Sweet, tender, savory with perfect pommes dauphine and sides. Highly recommend this place! (you would not think you’d get this level of cooking as the bar looks like any other. Don’t be fooled by the looks!)

Just had the special by the 1 and only Chef Issak! Beef chilli!!! Now that Gino D'Campo has been axed, Isaak is going places! 15/10 for the food once again!

Disappointed pub will shut over the winter

1 Not great at all , over priced food , bad service all round, quite rude staff in fact one guy in the white tshirt has no customer service at all !!!!!!! Prawn & avocado salad they said, well 5 prawns & 2 little pieces of avocado , on a bed of pure lettuce with the odd piece of onion was disgraceful at £17.95 There were quite a few of us , they didn't care , no dessert offered just felt like we were shoved out & done with Awful awful service, we certainly won't be back !!!!!!!!

Lovely atmosphere with great food. I would highly recommend the battered haddock, it was delicious. Really really friendly staff as well!

Lovely baguette and home made chips

What an amazing evening from the welcoming greeting as we arrived to the server Chloe who went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was outstanding! Above all the food was a culinary delight, we were a family of 6 who all had starters mains and desserts all of which were presented impeccably and tasted amazing… we each couldn’t help but try each others! Highly recommended a warm and cosy atmosphere even our puppy was made to feel at home. We will definitely return now harpers is one of our favourite spots to go.

Breakfast was not good. Bacon tasted of burnt chargrill, black pudding was rubbery, tomato was like a bullet. Croissants were hard. Some cups were stained as were the glasses. Stayed at the Premier Inn night before, possibly thankful no food was available that night. Had a drink though, sadly cleanliness lacked as there was an old lipstick mark on the glass. I'm sure this could be a lovely place, but attention to detail and pride in the food is required.

A very limited and poor menu. Food was straight out of Icelands bargain end shelf and the furniture was literally falling apart. Looks like it has been intentionally rundown and was only used by people staying at the premier inn next door.

Reservé el almuerzo para mi esposa y para mí para celebrar mi 80 cumpleaños. Recibí una confirmación efusiva del “Senior Restaurant Manager” reconociendo que “cumpleaños muy especiales”. Pedí una hamburguesa Gees medio rara. Llegó raro. Fue quitado. Mientras tanto, mi esposa estaba comiendo su curso y tuvimos la inoportuna situación de que ella terminara y mi reemplazo no llegara. La segunda vez de alguna manera siempre carece de apetito atractivo a pesar de que se cocina como se pidió originalmente. Me comí la mitad. El personal de servicio era encantador y carecía de los conocimientos necesarios sobre cómo tratar con un cliente, especialmente en su "cumpleaños muy especial". La gerente de turno finalmente llegó con su primera pregunta ”era todo lo demás bien! ” Le conté de la ocasión y parecía asombrada, claramente no informada o lo había olvidado. Por el lado del crédito, la hamburguesa fue borrada de la factura. Mi “ocasión muy especial” estuvo marcada por un helado con una vela insertada. Si mi experiencia hubiera sido buena, se planearon más celebraciones en Gees. Estuvimos allí por última vez hace 29 años y pasarán otros 29 antes de volver!
