The food and the service was really good,me and my husband made to visit in one day. The staff cleared the tables quickly and also very polite asking if everything was OK. The food was served quickly and was lovely. Would definitely make a return visit.

Stopped by for a drink and ended up sitting outside for a while just watching the waves — such a lovely, peaceful spot. The location is perfect, right by the seafront, and the outdoor seating makes it a great place to unwind and take in the view. We only had drinks, but they were well made and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and relaxed, and we never felt rushed, which made it even easier to just sit back and enjoy the moment. Would definitely return, especially on a sunny dayif you’re after a chilled drink with a great view.

Waited 40 minutes for very poor food, greasy and very little fish under the very thick batter, disappointed would NOT go back.

Sadly the last couple of times ive visited there's been no food available

Negative reviews do not reflect our experience of several lunchtime visits. Food is much as you would expect (pub fare but none the worse for that) and if your expectancy levels are of "Fine Dining" go and pay for it. Service is prompt, tables cleaned quickly, a nice real ale, and the situation is so enjoyable.

This isn't a bad place to stop for a coffee or food. Service is a little erratic when busy but they cope. Food and drinks choice are great. It's very busy at weekends.

Went for family lunch. Everything was cold. One meal inedible as chicken was still frozen. Food is very expensive, and not even good quality or served hot. Need more staff, and staff they did have lacked initiative. very disappointed. Would never visit again!

Regardless of the weather it's always a popular place to visit, whether for food or just for a drink!

Popped in on way to pavilion for a show. Cup of tea only. Food looked nice that was coming out. But... Waitress went to toilets but didn't remove her apron... Thought that to do so would be good hygiene. God knows what germs she brought out with her... Then serving again. Not good practice..

Food average,ham & eggs not very tasty.We disliked the fact that dogs were allowed to sit on the customer chairs, also paws & nose on the table. The staff should really not allow this.

Can put your own music on, happy hour means good prices.

Fantastic place to eat and have a drink

- Poor professionalism while at bar area - No hair net on kitchen staff - No hair tied back from bar staff when dealing with drinks as per hygiene guidelines - Unprofessional behaviour and attitude in areas where customers are such as standing in the corner of the bar mimicking accents and commenting on customers - Colleagues being unprofessional and impolite towards each other in front of customers - One staff member (male, short dark brown hair, tattoo on left arm, glasses) was polite and professional with customers I’ve rated the boardwalk cafè 2 stars due to food being well presented and prepared and one staff members professionalism with customers but unfortunately the points above have affected a 3/4 stars due rating.

Go here regularly and normally food is lush, this particular morning u could tell was new chef food was sooo bad. But as always service was amazing and food refunded. Can not fault the service staff at all. Manager was great, hopefully when we return the new chef will be off.

Great location. Only went in for a Guinness, hot chocolate and cake. The person that served us was nice and friendly. However when I was told to go over to the cake stand to choose my cakes I was shouted at by an ignorant fella behind the counter saying I had to put them back because they were for display only, no sign saying this and him shouting across the cafe in front of everyone made me feel very uncomfortable. He needs a lesson in customer service and courtesy. Only took 2 stars could have been more.

Pleasant atmosphere. Friendly service. Seating indoors, in the conservatory with blankets for the cold days or outside. Puzzle & colouring in sheets for the children supplied. Ordering via the QR code on the table was easy to do and the drinks & food arrived in good time from a very polite & happy young lady. Will definitely be back again.

Can’t fault the location and good being dogs friendly but tables are sticky and no staff seem to clean nor wipe down tables except quickly clear them away to make room for next customer! Not very comfortable with that practice to be honest! Coffee luke warm, serving in water glass, not sure we want to return!

Good food and service, lively and fun atmosphere.

Generally disappointing. Used to visit most Saturdays but got fed up of drinks coming out cold. Tried again today and nothings changed. They see to only have about three pastries ready and with it being reasonably expensive- it’s just a let down. Cold latte, nothing to eat and left within 10 mins to get a drink elsewhere to have on the beach.

We had coffee but the bar was very well set up

Just got rudely ordered off the the pier by the bald waiter with the rotten teeth because my wife dared eat an ice cream purchased on the pier while I was looking at the menu and drinking a beer purchased from the restaurant. Needlessly rude and aggressive. Won’t be going back again despite years of custom as it seems like customer service has gone severely downhill.

Just got aggressively ordered to leave because I bought an ice cream on the pier and sat next to my husband while he had a beer. Disgusting behaviour, you’ve sadly lost a very loyal and regular customer

This is a great place to have lunch. Just be wary that if you sit outside the gulls will try & take your food!

Arrived to see the Tour of Britain race and decided to have breakfast here, Was fairly busy but food arrived quickly, Veggie breakfast was lovely, Staff polite and helpful, Great Location.

Suggestion: Please bring back the table serving staff to take orders...or if you really don't want to do that use a proper table ordering app that we may already be registered for...or at least one that supports Apple Pay.. The website for the table ordering is really clunky, tries to collect data it doesn't need, makes you key in card details manually and set up yet another online account...Felt more like a day in the office rather than enjoyable time out.

We’ve been to Boardwalk numerous times and always get a nice glass of wine and beer. However a recent change is an unpriced drinks list. This means on ordering our stand large Malbec, neck oil pint and one packet of crisps the bill fell 20p short of £20. London prices but not London standard. Shame.

Service wasn’t great. Staff just put food on table without asking who had ordered it. Tea arrived without milk. Toast without butter. Two of the orders were wrong. Quality of food wasn’t great either. A real shame, as we’ve been there lots of times before.

The Boardwalk is perfectly situated on the pier, decor is very nice and food is decent quality. Unfortunately the food took well over an hour to arrive, no warning when we ordered that there was a delay, no apology when the food eventually arrived. It was busy-ish but still several empty tables so unsure why the delay. Really took the edge off the experience.

Had a great lunch at the boardwalk cafe bar in Felixstowe. It was very busy on a hot Sunday lunchtime but the service and quality of the food was brilliant. The waitress was happy and friendly and the food was very tasty too. Reasonable prices too as the small cod and chips was just my size for £9.99. Fantastic location right on the sea and we will be back.

Took extremely long to get served at the bar. The table was sticky and not wiped. Good music and vibe nevertheless

A lovely location. A friend and i just went for a cup of tea, but we stayed for the food, which was gorgeous. Definitely will go again.

I noticed the staff were smartly dressed . Nice to see. They were helpful and friendly. Tables cleaned. Toilets are spotless. Just had drinks here. The hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream, was delicious. Seating inside and outside. Lovely view of the sea. I have been here twice now and will definitely go back again.

Didn't have food but stopped for a drink in the sunshine lovely atmosphere

Myself, partner and 2 year old son visited this restaurant on Thursday and it was delightful. We dined in and the food was lovely, just the right sized portions (enough room for dessert though). My son had something from the kids menu and this comes with a drink, and a dessert - it did mention colouring bits would be included which we didn’t receive which was slightly disappointing however we didn’t wait long for food so he wasn’t too fussed. You have the option of scanning a QR code or ordering inside which is nice - cocktail offers 5pm-8.30pm which unfortunately we didn’t get to make use of however we will be returning to do so as their cocktail menu looked divine. All in all very happy with the service, food and the views were beautiful. Just be aware the seagulls might try and grab your food if you move away from your seat (my partner almost lost his cod 😂)

Great location and atmosphere but food disappointing. Had a ploughman's lunch which cost just under £15 but probably less than £1 of food on the plate! Can't recommend eating there - other better places not far away. Good place for a drink.

We’ve been to a lot of places over the last few days and the Boardwalk was excellent. Friendly staff. Clean seating areas. Good food served in a timely fashion. Very pleasant experience - well done.

We called in for a few drinks after strolling along the seafront, nice place, excellent staff and service, seating inside and out along the piers edge. Drinks were nice and well priced, our two drinks were charged at two different prices?? But didn't complain as both were quite reasonable. I would recommend this place for a few drinks but didn't have any food on this visit.

Prices were rather extortionate for bland food and small portion sizes. Lovely staff, very attentive and cheery. Evening was spoiled by 3 police officers attempting to arrest a man and he was having none of it; tables knocked over people moving mid dinner. Unlimited stokes bbq sauce was a nice touch though.

Very disappointed with the food my partner had the scampi which was awful, I had the bacon cheese burger, which was OK but most definitely not worth the money. Came here last year and it was very different guess they changed the chef. Definitely don't recommend. Cork bar and club 147 much much better and very much cheaper

Walked in here with my son for lunch and The Boardwalk didn't disappoint 👌🏼 tried their Asian sharing platter of crispy squid, crispy beef, crispy chicken, salad leaves and vegetable spring rolls and it was amazing!!! FISH & chips were yummy too!! Highly recommend 👌🏼

Loved this place, cocktails were slow arriving but other than that a lovely place. Friendly staff all on the go and busy. Sad I forgot to take photos.

Ordered a small fish and chips with mushy peas and white bread and when it arrived there was no bread and about 9 or 10 chips and what could only be described as a fish goujon. It was priced at £9.95 so I obviously wasn't expecting a massive portion but I didn't expect it to be that small and also they didn't bring the bread out either. Quality was fine but be prepared if you go for the small fish and chips it's actually tiny.

Food is rubbish deep fried all of it. No table service, windy and uncomfortable

Normally a great breakfast, but unfortunately a problem with the kitchen so no breakfasts available until 11:30, so had to go without today.

Great sharing plate of chicken. Nice clean indoor area although a little loud near speaker but this was the only table available. Outdoor eating area looked great but was understandably full on bank holiday weekend.

one staff member was incredibly rude. stopped serving food at 5pm, we had brought in food and was eating outside by the pier, one staff member was very rude and agressive and kicked us out after we had purchased drinks of roughly £60 between 4 of us, just for simply eating as the food was 'not sold on there premises'. They then provided us small paper coffee cups which they expected us to pour our drinks out into. very rude and will not be going back. the manager was very polite when he spoke to us, however the damage from the staff member was already done!

Ordered at the bar, lots of staff standing around but had to ask for a receipt as I wasn't offered one. Only then I noticed I was charged for a meal I didn't order, could have been a genuine mistake and manager rectified quick enough. Food was average but I'm guessing the chef who I never met but feel I know had long sandy blond hair..... She kindly left one of them for me in my eggs. Won't be returning, shame.

My wife and I popped in on the way back from a walk past the Martello tower. Can’t miss the venue along the side of the pier. We sat outside. Although it was a cold day it was sunny and warm out of the wind. We ordered 2 teas served in nice red teapots with matching cups. Wish we had time to order food as this looked good. It was busy at the bar and tables inside. Good service and lovely cuppa. Will return.

Had an amazing night at the Boardwalk Saturday night listening to the superb Irie J :)) Fantastic, friendly atmosphere and attentive welcoming staff. Brilliant!! So thank you to all involved that night :)) Highly recommended.

Good staff, food good, a little slow but is busy, will use again

Nice clean cafe with good seating inside and partially outside, at base of pier. Good cup of coffee; would rate higher if they offered any gluten free cakes or sandwiches.

I’m puzzled by the recent bad reviews. My husband and I regularly have brunch or lunch here. Food is consistently good and staff have always been polite and friendly. When it’s busy there is a wait but the surroundings are glorious and there’s always been an apology for the wait. The food isn’t cheap but the quality is good.

Popped in for a drink with the dog. Although not permitted in the main bar you can take dog into the conservatory area where overhead heaters are available to help on those colder days

After having booked three weeks in advance, our table wasn't ready and they couldn't accommodate us. We pre ordered our food to be told the day before that the meals we had chosen were not available. We ended up leaving without eating.

We visited to to find cold food appalling staff service from a bold management staff would never visit again

Sat outside as we had the dog in the wind and rain and it was warm and dry and really well done. With blankets if we wanted them. We'll thought out!!

Visited on New Year’s Eve. It was extremely busy and no organisation in terms of tables (people taking tables that other people got to before them) Ended up having to get a refund for coffee/hot drink items as we had somewhere to be and service was slow as they only have 1 coffee machine. A second coffee machine may help. The staff member that processed my refund was friendly and helpful and did apologise so I have no issues with the customer service.
