Drinks and meal ordered and drinks came quickly then good came very hot and tasty the 2barman didn't stop all evening. Would like to say thank you and will return

Wasn't made very welcome. So we went to another local pub and had great service. Edit. The response the owner gave below was incorrect. We understood that it was full, but the rudeness and attitude shown by the two staff was very poor. Even another customer shook their head and couldn't believe how we were dealt with.

Wife and I popped in on a hot day in August for a couple of drinks after a lovely long walk. Barman was fairly abrupt and immediately wanted to know if we woud be sitting inside or outside as if it were outside he would have to serve me in plastic glasses as a lot of them ‘get nicked.’ I said we would be outside and accepted the drinks in flimsy plastic cups as stipulated. However, on going outside I noticed that everyone else out there had their drinks in proper branded glasses and it seemed to be just me that was being treated differently. As others came outside, again all had their drinks in proper glasses. Totally rude and unnecessary treatment of a paying customer. Obviously didn’t order any more after that and moved on to a decent bar instead where I would be singled out. Won’t be returning.

We ate at this gorgeous pub twice during our stay in Aldeburgh. The fish and chips is naturally gluten free and super delicious. The fish tasted like it was caught that day. They had a lot of gluten free options and the menu is clearly marked. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and you can sit and look at the sea/ beach whilst you eat. I noticed the manager was very knowledgeable about the beer etc. just as it couldn’t get any better we noticed dogs are welcome. 10/10! We’ll be back next time we are in the area!

On a recent visit to the lovely un-spoilt town of Aldeburgh we stayed at the White Lion Hotel on the beach frontage. Along from the hotel is the Mill Inn, a lovely pub and restaurant. The staff are friendly and attentive and the menu provides an excellent choice for either lunch or dinner. With it's well stocked bar and Adnams draught ales on tap, it is just perfect for a relaxed drink offering table seating both inside and outside. Worth a visit.

Great selection of Adnams drinks on draught (which is the local brewer in Southwold). The place is in a lovely spot just near the aldeburgh museum and so benefits from being in an idyllic location. The decor is very much quaint English pub vibe and the food is stunning! I had the full rack of smoked ribs which were MASSIVE. The staff were extremely friendly to the point where you would go back for that on its own. Well worth a visit.

The atmosphere was relaxed and cosy, with friendly and attentive staff. I ordered the Surf & Turf - Rump Steak, Scallops and Langoustine, served with a prawn and chilli butter, new potatoes and onion rings. The steak, scallops and langoustine were cooked perfectly, but the steak was a little fatty for me (just personal preference). The prawn and chilli butter gave a lovely little kick to the dish. My boyfriend ordered the beef brisket - tender beef in a meaty gravy, served with steamed veg and creamy mash. "Very tasty, best brisket I've ever eaten" We washed our meal down with a bottle of Adnam's Prosecco, a brand best known around the suffolk area for alcoholic beverages. Went down a treat! To finish, I ordered the raspberry tart with cream and boyfriend opted for the raspberry and white chocolate roulade. The tart was light and fruity and the roulade, with chewy and crispy meringue was was also a light addition. Overall, a very relaxed and pleasant experience 👍 The only thing that could have been improved was the time it took for our food to arrive. 9.5/10

Booked a table for4. However 3 of us arrived first. The place offers traditional pub meals. It has good vibes & was almost full. The staff were friendly & engaging. We all had sufficient & enjoyed our dinner. The best part was when I asked if they could provide a take out fish & chips as my daughter was unable to make it . A member of confirmed that they could provide it. On return to the cottage my husband checked the bill & discovered that the takeout dish had not in fact been charged. My husband went back the following day to pay the outstanding amount but the offer was declined & the manager said she was grateful for his honesty. I would certainly recommend the Mill Inn as a friendly and welcoming pub/restaurant - nicely located close to the sea front and the Main Street through Aldeburgh.

Visited The Mill Inn Aldeburgh Sunday lunchtime just for a drink. The Pub is just of the sea front, there is little seating as you enter from the side entrance, by the bar and larger room at the front, with a fire place, it is nicely decorated and was playing music which was nice. We sat outside where there is pairs of chairs with the sea front views. Unfortunately arrived at 1pm and we could hear the Bar Person moaning, while serving the customer before me about how many millions of people was in the day before and why they open at 12 when everyone come at once at 1pm, not in a nasty way but not very welcoming. Hope his day got better. Had a couple of real ales on sale, the one I choose was £5, higher than other pubs I have visited in the area. Not sure I would re-visit.

I really liked this multi-roomed Adnams pub situated across the road from the 17th century Moot hall and seafront gardens. If you enter from the sea facing side then you walk through two front areas mainly aligned for dining before reaching the bar and an additional two areas which are more set up just for drinking. A nice Creme and sea blue decor throughout and plenty of period black and white photos of the local area to provide some character. 4 Adnams ales were on with the usual Broadside, Southwold Bitter and Ghostship, but I went for the Regatta golden ale and very good it was. We were only in for drinks on this lunchtime as we intended to graze from the seafood shacks on the stone beach a short walk away, and I like the fact that there was a good mix of people eating and just drinking, even in the front two rooms. This was probably the pick of the pubs I tried in Aldeburgh.

I opted for the Seafood Platter, and was impressed with the quality and quantity. Absolutely delicious. I have to add that the Cod was pure white, the whitebait etc so fresh I can only assume the ingredients are bought locally. Maybe even from over the road? My wife had fish and chips, standard choice but again excellent quality. The choice of beers at the Bar is also extensive, and only wish I could have tried more. My brother booked a table here so I called for allergy advice in advance to check what my boy could have as none of it is listed on the website. The manager wasn't able to answer the question but walked in to speak to the chef who also couldn't answer. They said they'd call me back but never did. Eventually I chased them and she answered stating they were busy and that she would call me back again. This time they did, informing me what he could have but the entire tone was very poor. I've called up loads of restaurants asking for allergy advice and this was by far the worst experience. Eventually we turn up for our meal only to find that they have an incredibly loud live band. We had informed them we had 2 babies attending on the booking and the music was not appropriate for their ears so we had to cancel. Overall a disappointing experience.
