What are fantastic evening.. went for dinner which was excellent and then took part in an enjoyable quiz night... the food was excellent and there service was outstanding I particularly want to mention Carla, Mitch and Connor.. these guys could not do enough for us.. so attentive, polite and friendly... I will definitely be back in a heart beat..

This was my second visit in a couple of weeks. Thought the first visit was a one off, but although food really nice, just spoilt by the miserable staff, food and cutlery was practically thrown on the table. Such a shame as this was a birthday celebration. Staff need to retrain and learn how to smile. Sadly won't be going back

Visited the Golf for a drink Saturday Evening. Lovely atmosphere, even lovelier staff. Had a lovely chat with Mitch, made me and my friends feel welcome and gave good service

The food was decent (Sunday roast) but wow what a complete shambles with the delay of said food. Our table of 8 + 2 kids did order separately but we did order one after the other in the queue. Two meals came out a LOT earlier than the rest and they were actually done eating before anything else came out. Then the rest came apart from my Aunties and we'd almost finished ours by then too! The lack of apology was really disappointing with the staff. I appreciate they did tell us it would be a wait but 45+ minutes is ridiculous. We had the table booked for some time. If you can't cope with large bookings on a Sunday afternoon then you simply shouldn't take them. We would have had dessert but I expect we would have been skin and bones by the time it got to put table. Also, they never seem to answer their phone.

Just back for our 3rd visit as we love it so much ! Passed several times and just wish we had tried it sooner . Great food and very friendly staff . Sue especially helpful and friendly. Lovely atmosphere and welcoming ,highly recommend

We're regulars at The Golf, and it never disappoints! The food, especially from the lunch menu, is excellent and reasonably priced. Chef Stu consistently delivers great meals. The staff, like Jess and Vick, always make us feel at home. They even have our pot of tea ready as soon as we walk in! Their warm and friendly service truly adds to the experience. The pub itself has a cozy atmosphere, with something for everyone—a sports bar, dining area, and even a family-friendly space. Overall, a fantastic pub with great food and incredibly helpful staff. Highly recommend!

Very nice local sports style pub. Friendly staff that do work hard making sure the customers are served quickly. Good range of drinks aswell as nice food. Good amount of parking too.

We would like to say a big thank you to Vicki, Mitch and Morgan along with all the other staff at The Golf. We held a wake there on 9 January. And nothing was too much trouble for them. They were all so friendly and accommodating. The food was plentiful and delicious. The occasion went very well thanks to the efficient and kind service you all provided. The atmosphere in the pub is so much better since Vicki has taken over, the staff are all welcoming, we have noticed the food is a lot better also, Wendy is always friendly and a great asset to the pub!!, keep up the good work guys you are all a credit to greeneking

I come in here quite a lot and the staff are absolutely amazing and always on top of everything! i would highly recommend coming here!

We decided to pop in for some dinner and ended up staying the entire night. M J Soul was performing and was extremely busy. Although fully booked staff were very accommodating, they quickly moved some fixtures around and made a table for myself and disabled parents. It was a fun lively night with lots of dancing. Can’t wait to return.

We had our yearly festive lunch which was excellent and the service was great and had our table dressed up for Christmas All in all a very enjoyable experience

Came up last weekend for a family meal for my mums birthday, the menu was lovely and a good price. I would definitely recommend going, such a good atmosphere. The bartender ciara was lovely and helped with everything we needed and we really appreciated the help we got

came in with my partner for a roast dinner on sunday and to watch football game. the food was lovely with a great atmosphere for the football. Ciara gave amazing service without our meal with great recommendations.

Had a fantastic meal at the golf hotel the staff went above and beyond as we wanted our roast dinner and they made it happen so 10 out of 10 to them.

When we arrived at the pub it was busy when we got to the bar we was served by Wendy who was very knowledgeable about the drink beverages, we went to our reserved table and Wendy served us our food too as well as serving behind the bar,the food was lovely and hot when it came out and the presentation was spot on,Wendy did come over and ask if everything was ok which it was

I have just visited the Golf Hotel for a family get together. I must admit I have not been to the Golf for some time and I was very impressed. The staff were welcoming, especially the Manager Vicky. The atmosphere was lovely the beer garden is lovely. The food was yummy and came in good time. I will definitely be coming back and I won’t be leaving it as long this time.

Great value for money, always consistent with decent pub grub, friendly, happy staff, genuinely nice place to socialise.

Great food and attentive staff. I could have done without the TVs playing in the background (sport as usual), but that's just me - I don't like TVs in any pub. Overall, the atmosphere was good and I would have no hesitation in recommending the pub to others.

Stopped off for a cold drink on the way back from foxhall recycling centre and two weeks later I get fined £100 for parking in their car park , I didn't see the sign and signs on the till as I paid between the tills I feel totally Ripped off and will never go back , I paid cash for my drink in between the tills so didn't see the sign and didn't get a receipt for a drink , so how can you help me , I've now paid £60 as it would of been £100 you can help me if you refund my fine and yes I have a receipt for that !

We were served a steak that was mostly gristle. Everything else was perfectly fine.

Friendly staff, good beer and a big garden to enjoy the sunshine. Had some trouble with the parking (make sure you enter your reg!) but luckily they were able to help.

It was our bartender's first day at the Golf and he did a fine job while learning on the fly. Not too crowded on this weekday afternoon. We enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere. I would return again for a meal and some game night trivia.

We popped in for a meal (2 adults and 2 teens) and we weren’t disappointed. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was very chilled and the food was hot, fresh and very tasty. We had the chicken shawarma, salt and pepper chicken, tex max sharing platter and the ultimate sharing platter and they were all delicious. A great place to eat and chill.

Came for a meal today for my mums birthday. Ordered food on app and paid. Was then advised burger was not available even though it was on the app. Had to pick another one which was cheaper...no offer of refund!! Ordered a duo turkey and beef roast. Arrived with turkey and chicken!! When asked if all was OK.. we asked where the beef was..we were then told it wasn't available and didn't bother advising us and gave us chicken instead. ( what if we had an allergy?? ) You can't just change people's food without checking first!!!! Burger and chips turned up..burgers way overcooked and salty..and chips was covered in salt... again salt is not allowed in hubby's diet so left most of the meal. Mum's roly poly was hard in places. Waiter wasn't great..came and asked if we wanted desserts and we were still eating our mains and came back 2-3 other times which was very annoying! Won't be returning...overall very disappointed!!!!

Great place to go with friends or even with the family, nice large area and great outside space with a good size to too bonus for the footie. The new menu is good too lots to choose from.

One of the most abysmal dining experience of my life!! Table booked a week ago, deposit paid (they did not ask for a pre order despite being a table of 10. No steak No Gammon No Halloumi fries No fish I gave up and didn't order anything. My wife's burger came in a polystyrene tray. Food came out at separate intervals despite ordering at the same time. Garlic bread was missed off 2 meals (although rectified) Was very disappointing as was my brother's birthday. Staff to be fair were polite and apologetic, not their fault.

We reserved an area for my brother's wake yesterday 03/06/2024. The food was lovely and replenished very quickly. The staff were amazing and very accommodating. I recommend this venue, they were very accommodating as previously mentioned at such short notice too.

Please update your opening hours on the Website, we arrived just after the advertised opening time (11.30) and walked through an open door at the back only to be told they weren't open until 12. There was a degree of hostility from the staff and we felt very unwelcome. Will not be returning

Visited on Saturday when the sun was shining, it was very busy but we received our food order quickly. The new menu is fantastic and reasonably priced. It’s a dog friendly pub which I wish Ipswich had more of. The kids tired themselves out on the outdoor play area so will be back next weekend. Staff were also very friendly couldn’t fault their service.

It's nice but never expected a roast on a Sunday evening. It's the 4th time we have visited and been told It's not available. If its never going to be on the menu, just be honest and don't advertise it, would be my suggestion

Just been for lunch and can honestly say that the food was awful and inedible. Quite possibly the worst food we have ever been served. Never again.

It's a good looking pub from the outside and a nice old building. It is a pretty standard green king pub, has a reasonable selection of drinks, always showing sport which is good, has a pool table and a large garden for the summer and keeping children entertained. I would like the garden to be maintained to a higher standard as considering the size it's not that well used and the grass can need cutting at points. It's good to see lots of locals drinking there and it gives it a good atmosphere

We had a side room 22 family members for 30th birthday it was quite nice. Not bad atmosphere. Rugby was on TV. It was clean. It was tidy. Very good service. Food was hot. Was nice. Normal pub, food, chicken, New Yorker, burgers, lasagna, chips, onion rings the usual thing but it was okay and then I brought a cake out for my son afterwards. What was a nice? The grandchildren loved it. We all had a good time,

Food was nice Staff friendly and happy enough. Recieved a parking fine for being in their car park even though we put our registration number (takin 4 months to come through) Please check and double check your details are entered, even though it's not enforceable I know some people will pay this.

I hadnt been to the Golf pub for years but was meeting up with my eldest son. Roast has to be a family favourite but this one of the worst roasts I have had in a long time. So reheated it was inedible. Definitely would never be worth 12.99

Food very good ,staff amazing,decor (ie)chair's, seating disgraceful would not get changed into your best to sit on these filthy seats.

Really enjoyed my time here with my family and friends. Food was at a very good price and the bar staff were very efficient. Vicki and wendy were very friendly, told us all about the quiz which we will definitely be coming back for. Dog friendly which is also a bonus.

Came in for the quiz. I didn’t book but Vicki was more than accommodating and moved tables around for me and my friends. Food was hot and reasonably priced. Could not fault the service. Will definitely come again as one of the only pubs in ipswich that accepts dogs. And exceptional service from all staff.

Nice place. Food lovely. Some nice deals on Mondays as well as pensioner specials, 2 for less than £15. Sunday Roast just over £12. Not sure they know the rules around Assistance Dogs. I was restricted to a particular area where I didn't really want to sit.

Very rude unpleasant Waitress not to sure if she was the manager in her late 40s blonde hair glasses... was waiting in the queue for sometime kept walking past ourselves then noticed couple regulars came in went straight to Serve them ... question why we wasn't be served very rude to myself and partner... even young lady behind bar apologised to me about her... won't be going back in a hurry for sure.

Not a place that does atmosphere. But it does a good pint of Greene King IPA cheap, and that have the football on. So if you want to go with a couple of mates for a quiet pint with the footy on, and you live nearby, then it's great.

Only went for drinks first time. Liked it. Quick service, nice drinks and atmosphere. A bit small car park. Had Christmas meal with a club. Nice food. Potatoes have been a bit undercooked and had sausage added to vegetarian main but everything else has been great.

Works Christmas get together, excellent service, lovely Christmas menu. The food was all served together. Altogether an enjoyable meal.

Great local pub! Popped in with some friends for lunch, staff were really friendly, atmosphere with the Xmas decorations was lovely. Lots on offer on the menu at an affordable price. Vicky took time to speak to us when serving our food and told us all about the Thursday quiz night and the band playing at the end of the month. Overall couldn’t fault anything, will definitely be coming in again!

Staff totally ignored us. They were too busy putting up Christmas decorations. We will never return.
