Attended the Valentine’s event last night and yet again had a fabulous evening! The food was fantastic and the service was as always attentive, friendly and personal! Well done to all the staff involved! Can’t wait for the next one.

The restaurant looks amazing, great atmosphere, staff are polite and friendly, however the price of the breakfast, even charging you extra for black pudding, is nothing to write home about and is average at best. Coffee can be pricey as well.

We came as a group of 11 and the staff were absolutely brilliant. Food and drinks were top quality delicious, and served hot. We did not feel rushed and nothing was a problem for the staff to accommodate. Brunch at the Bothy was a lovely way to celebrate a 40th 🥳

Such a lovely restaurant. I come here a lot with family and friends and it’s always such a lovely experience. The food is amazing and really great quality. They have great options for vegetarians. I went there to celebrate my birthday with family and the staff put a little happy birthday sign on my breakfast which was such a lovely touch. I would recommend booking a few weeks in advance if you want to eat at a certain time.

This is our third year with eight friends for a one night stay and catch up as we all live in different places in Essex and Norfolk. From the minute we arrive and meet up in the bar we have the best time. The staff are happy and look after us really well. The private dining room is great for both our own needs but also for other guests dining in the main room. The menu is just amazing and caters for all tastes, beautifully presented. The bedrooms are so well equipped and have lovely heated bathroom heated floor. Public rooms are bright and comfortable with quality furnishings and artwork. Perfect place for good food and service whether with friends or singles and couples.

Had a wonderful afternoon tea. The staff were all very smart, friendly and attentive. It truly was an excellent level of service in a very beautiful restaurant. I would 100% recommend a visit. Enjoyed a nice walk around the garden centre, shops and gardens too. A really nice place to visit.

We were served ably by Caitlin who was attentive and pleasant throughout and added to our enjoyment of the meal. Pleasant surroundings and great food.

It was a lovely if a little expensive afternoon tea for 2.....however it was a gift and the company was great and the food was nice...there was a variety of teas and coffees to choose from. Overall a lovely experience ☺️

We were celebrating our mother's forthcoming birthday of 92 years.

I went with a group of friends for a festive meal. Why do restaurants insist in making vegetarians feel like 2nd class citizens? First course was fine [hummus and warm pitta bread]. My friends had a turkey roast dinner with all the trimmings. I ordered nut roast which was accompanied with 4 brussels sprouts and 6 whole green beans. No roast potatoes, no carrots, no parsnips and no gravy. Very poor deal for £27.50.

We have never been disappointed when dining at the Wentworth on numerous occasions . Unfortunately our recent visit wasn’t up to previous standards firstly when booking the table there was no mention of a Christmas menu on arrival we where given a lunch menu but no mention of a Christmas lunch menu, 4 of our party choose the Roast turkey from the regular menu we question the absence of Christmas pudding as a desert option the waiter made no comment. When the meal was served we asked for cranberry sauce and an egg cup size portion arrived when 2/3rds of the meal had been eaten,we had to ask for more cranberry sauce to allow 4 diners to be able to have a portion. No one asked if we would like wine or a drink with lunch. Coffee was served in the lounge at our request the cups where 2/3rds full at best I don’t add milk to coffee. The absence of a maitre de/ senior waiter/ waitress left the waiting team with no one in a leadership role. We raised our concerns to the staff no one from management spoke to us.

Set out to be luxurious and comfortable. Staff smartly uniformed too. Service reasonably friendly. Smiles all round. Food arrived reasonably quickly, but we were a party of 14 so expected a wait. Food was very good quality. I would book, it is popular.

A lovely place to brunch/lunch with family or friends, staff are always attentive and smiley, you can tell how much they enjoy their job. Food is consistently delicious, from both their lunch menu and their breakfast menu. Make sure you book in advance as this place fills up pretty fast, no surprise there !!!!!

Delicious lunch at the Wentworth. Difficult to choose from a good lunch menu. Wine good too. Nice setting in the conservatory watching the world go by.

Tastefully decorated and spacious restaurant. The atmosphere is calmer here than in the main cafe and it is table service. The food here is really good quality with generous portion sizes too. I've had breakfast and lunch here and really enjoyed both.

While holidaying in the area we decided to venture aldeburgh and was glad we did. Needing some lunch we called in and found a table, the lunch menu is easy and just what you want, we ordered sandwiches and a portion of some of the best chunky chips there is together with some lovely Sauvignon blanc good service and good weather a lovely time was had.

We dropped in for an unplanned lunch at sat in the front garden, with our dogs. We enjoyed cod snd french fries and scampi with thick cut chips. The cod seemed very fresh, and the portion sizes were very good. We would definitely return.

Had an afternoon tea gift voucher for 2. The Bothy had a relaxing atmosphere, service was friendly and food delicious. Plenty of food we couldn't finish it all and they gave us boxes to take it home.

Booked a table today (Aug 15th) for my birthday meal. We intended on having two courses and a dessert. Arrived on time for our booking, but had to wait due to a delay in getting us seated. Got our drinks order shortly after being seated, and they took our food order. The starter of a sharing cheese platter took an age to be brought to us. After we finished our starter, we waited, and waited, and waited for our mains to be delivered, we had run out of drinks, nobody offered us another, the mains were delivered as we were about to cancel...we no longer had time for a dessert, due to them taking an hour and 15mins to deliver our main meal....food good....worst service I've ever encountered.

Roast dinner was beautiful. We also had the hot fudge "Bruce" cake and a banana split...both were beautiful.

Excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We all had the gamekeepers breakfast. Extra for black pudding. Would highly recommend the black pudding. Very tasty. If you want an extra special breakfast this is the place to come. Would definitely go again.

Had the full English breakfast, which was good and a mocha. The breakfast itself was very filling, however wasn’t a fan of the bacon as it was way saltier than the usual bacon I’ve had. I like the interior as it was very cosy and modern and you get a choice of sitting inside or outside or in the glass part.

Wed called in on a very hot day for coffee and a scone. We initially sat down outside but a gardener came along spraying weedkiller around our feet. Knowing this was hazardous we got up and went inside. We ordered 2 Americano's and cheese scones. To our disbelief the cheese scones came out with the small packs of Flora Margarine. to spread on them. We immediately challenged this and they were then replaced with butter. What sort of establishment brings out Flora margarine with a cheese scone this is a bakery/deli crime.

We were recommended this hotel by old friends. The room with meals was expensive for what was on offer. The room was dark, rather grubby and smelt awful. We decided not to stay moved to an alternative hotel.

Good service & nice atmosphere & surroundings. Afternoon tea A bit disappointed in the sandwich selection would have been nice to pick from a selection instead of a set menu & having more basic sandwiches like ham etc would be better for picky eaters. The sausage roll was a small slice which was disappointing. The selection of cakes were nice & unlimited tea & coffee is a nice touch. It is expensive compared to other afternoon teas which for the same price include a bottle of prosecco for the table.

Probably the classiest place around for afternoon tea or a substantial lunch. Beautifully decorated room in the William Morris style, quality table wear and attentive staff make a visit to remember. Afternoon tea for us on this visit was tastefully presented and copious. We needed a doggy bag! My gluten/wheat intolerance was catered for as was my vegetarian choice a rare combination for a food business to cope with. Two small criticisms, no savoury gluten-free element provided (little quiche or tartlet or even a sausage roll) and the bread my sandwiches were made from was a tiny bit too thick and dry but I am being picky. By the way did you know that a Bothy is a shepherd's hut often found on estates such as Wentworth? A note to finish with, if you are with hard of hearing guests they may struggle with the acoustics.

We came to celebrate my mother's 97th Birthday, and we were treated to a delicious Afternoon Tea in the lovely Wentworth Hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely, polite, attentive Joe, who sprang into action every time my mother needed anything, from her arrival in a wheelchair, when Joe magicked up some ramps to get her safely and comfortably up the steps, to his lovely gentle manner at the table, ensuring we had everything we needed. He was wonderful, as was a fine gentleman (who I presume may have been the owner of the hotel?), who oversaw everything and made us feel quite special. Everything was perfect, from the delicious and very fresh sandwiches, the scrumptious fruit scones and a gorgeous selection of cakes, etc, which my daughter said were the best selection she's had - and she's an Afternoon Tea aficionado! I separately ordered and enjoyed the amazing cheese scone with chilli jam, which was just perfect! A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, lovely memories to treasure!

Sunday lunch is great, my daughter loves the afternoon tea. Atmosphere is good some of the waitresses look a bit peeved to be there though 🤣

Lovely Sunday lunch for Fathers Day

We went for Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint. Amazing beef dinner which was not over facing. Really lovely setting with attentive (but not pushy) staff. We would thoroughly recommend The Bothy

Just had a lovely Sunday dinner which we would recommend however the service was a bit random, when we asked the waiter for the desserts menu he never returned leaving us sat there 😟

Booked because of good reviews and thought a special night and meal was in order. Very disappointed Terrible service by disinterested waiting staff. Put in a back room where non residents were put. OK but we had to get up and fetch a menu after 20 minutes and were asked straight awaY what we wanted to eat . Had a starter, not very good, personally we think a thickened fish soup, with no garlic taste to roulle. Waited another 3/4 hour before a waiting staff returned, looking confused. We asked how long we would have to wait and when the waiter said he was not sure, we realised at that point that we were not important so we went to the counter to explain why we were leaving. Equally disinterested manager...therefore we were very pleased we left.

We met with friends for lunch in The Bothy. It's a nice quiet relaxing atmosphere where you have enough space to talk. The food & service was excellent.

The food and service are always excellent. The only issue I have is the staff ‘uniform’. Those skintight, skinny jeans are horrible. They look unprofessional and uncomfortable.

Fabulous time with family (party of seven) in a beautiful setting. Food was great, specific requests were no problem. Plenty of food with boxes provided to bring leftovers home. Tea and coffee plentiful with a good selection of blends. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly but not intrusive. A lovely way to spend the afternoon.

From the moment that you step inside the Bothy there is a very relaxed air and a warm welcome from the staff. The choice of decor combined with comfortable seating and chilled music playing in the background adds to whole ambiance. There is a fantastic choice for breakfast and it is always delivered swiftly to your table . The food is beautifully cooked and portions are generous. We highly recommend eating here

Well well well what can I say, I was impressed: the cleanliness, the ambiance, the service and the food was exceptional. My burger was delicious nice and juicy and the cake was perfect. The happy birthday toppers were sweet touches for my birthday lunch. Well done team Bothy. 👍🏽

My wife and I had afternoon tea, yesterday. First impressions were of a very nice venue, and welcoming staff on the front desk. We were taken to our seats and the lady explained the afternoon tea structure and pointed us towards the menu of teas and coffee that were available. Within a few minutes a fresh jug of ice cold water arrived. Strangely the young girl didn't utter a word, just plonked it down and left, no reply to our thanks. Five or so more minutes past, ten or fifteen minutes after being seated, and we were wondering when our drinks order would be taken. Fortunately we managed to grab the young male server, who was busy rushing around and to be fair to him he took our order with no complaint and was very cheery and polite. The afternoon tea arrived and was fantastic. Clearly all very freshly made and of excellent quality and very tasty. The only complaint I had about the food was one of the scones must have had an accident in the oven as it was almost wedge shaped, I wouldn't have thought anyone plating up would have accepted to put it on a plate in all honesty. We'd almost finished the sandwiches and savouries when our drinks finally arrived however, which again was disappointing, especially as we'd slow timed the sandwiches to wait for a drink. All in all the food was lovely, the setting is very nice and the Java coffee was excellent. The whole experience was sadly let down by the service. An elderly lady on the table next to the till had to get up after her mains were taken away to ask for a dessert menu and we did note that after the food arrived and we'd not managed to eat all the desserts, at no time did any of the servers approach to ask if everything was ok with the food, it seems to be standard practice in every restaurant? We did consider that with waiting times for drinks, being freshly made of course, it may have been better had the drinks order been taken when we were seated. Overall a nice venue, great food and worth a visit to see for yourself.

Amazing food and service! Located within Wentworth Garden Centre, it has a fantastic range of high quality food. Would highly recommend going for breakfast/brunch, many times, to try all the menu.

Came for delayed Mothers Day meal 16th March. Food mediocre but we were in the conservatory which was really cold. Won’t go again unless I can be in main restaurant

Gorgeous restaurant I didn’t even know was there! The food is beautiful, very fresh and tasty. Service was amazing, the staff are all so lovely. Decor of the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. I think it will be my new favourite place to eat!

Situation in Wentworth Garden centre the bothy is a beautiful bistro restaurant. A lot of people pre book but we've been several times and always got a table with out booking. The staff are lovely friendly and efficient. The food is really nice and good value for money .there is a conservatory and outdoor eating the atmosphere is relaxing and botanical. A very good alternative if the other big cafe is busy or your celebrating or just fancy a quaint up market restaurant. The garden centre has a very large carpark . The venue is large with disabled access easy for people in wheelchairs .
