Staying at the premier inn had evening meals and breakfast here. The breakfast is outstanding sets you up for the day the evening meals are of a high standard and not too expensive. Good selection of cask ales also friendly staff and attentive

Had an excellent meal here with my business clients, it was absolutely fantastic the food and the service was spot on could not fault at all. Kenzi and the team did an amazing job, every credit to her and the team. Will definitely be back here again with my family and friends.

Spur of the moment decision to go out for lunch, looked online and booked it. Good decision. Very pleasant place, easy access, friendly and good food.

Thought I'd got a starter instead of a main, 1 fish cake with an egg on top, egg bigger than the fishcake and the salad it's meant to come with is a handful of dry rocket and 3 thin slices of radish, no dressing even. Hubby's fish and chips was a very average sized fish (pic shows it against a small fork) and we found the chips underneath it,a mere handful if that. The member of staff was to be applauded for his customer service skills and dealt with our complaint efficiently in the absence of the manager. Charging higher prices than in recent years, maybe understandable but to cut the food down to child sized meals aswell isn't the way to keep customers coming back. We have eaten here many times before when it was good, but won't be going again .

We were at Premier Inn Preston North and had our breakfast here. Continental breakfast was very good. Service excellent and very friendly. Thank you Rachel and Ann. I would have given it an excellent but the coffee was in thermal jugs and although ok it would have been nicer to have it fresh.

We booked a table for celebrating my mums birthday . Arrived and was straight away shown to our table . We ordered our drinks which came quickly. Most of us had rhe Sunday roasts. Lovely fresh veggies and a good selection. My son had the three meat roast the meat was so tender . I had the vegetarian wellington which was full of mushrooms and sauce. We had pudding I tried the specials crumble which was peach and elderflower something seemed missing from it . The whole experience was good and the atmosphere was really nice the fairy lights add to the calm relaxing feel. One thing I would say was we think one of the waitresses was new and didn't have any knowledge about the meals she was serving to the customers. Think she needs more training or to shadow someone more confident .With 3 or 4 different roast on the menu to be just told "roast ".... then "I've got a pie " we would return back the food was great quality and well priced .

Came and had a lovely meal, from the moment we walked through the door and were greeted by Rachel’s beaming smile the service was outstanding, food was lovely. I thought the location and price would've been hard to beat but they certainly didn't disappoint.

Arrived to a very warm friendly welcome by Rachel s. Was served very quick with a drink and shown to our table where we ordered food. Food was lovely in a warm friendly atmosphere so will definitely be back again. The setting of the pub is beautiful over the road is the canal. Highly recommended ideal stop off for walkers / cyclists ect.

amazing customer service! we were served by kenzie who was very kind and welcoming! she was also very smiley and had a bubbly character which is always great to see when you visit a new place! The restaurant/pub is also dog friendly! they have a cute station for the pups that serve treats free of charge for all furry friends! the food was spot on with great portions, especially for the price! We will definitely be returning :)

My husband and I came from Lancaster - our first meal out in a while. Great food and service and can highly recommend the chef's special pudding: banana waffles! Waiter (I think called Sean) was prompt and friendly. Thanks for a lovely evening.

We visited with friends to have a great catch up. The choice on the menu was good and we were all very happy with our choices. The food was delicious. A lovely selection of drinks too and the girls amongst is chose from the fizzy gin selections. Adam 2 was very attentive and a great host for us all. Thank you for a very pleasant evening.

Adam 2 who greeted us, took our order and served our drinks was friendly, helpful and efficient. He went out of his way to be enthusiastic and ensure that we were happy.

We are regulars here even though we live in Lancaster.Food is always good in a lovely country pub.We would recommend it here.Staff are helpful especially Dan who has looked after us on a couple of occasions-nothing is too much trouble and he is always so welcoming .Lunches are well priced and have very good portions.Especially liked my chicken burger today.

We recently met up with relatives who live in Lancashire area when Covid restrictions were lifted and had a lovely evening at the Roebuck. The food and service were excellent and there was a nice ambience at the bar area where there was an open fire. The staff were very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Everything was spaced out properly and instructions regarding Covid were followed to the letter. There is also plenty of outdoor space to eat outside in good weather. There wasn't anything not to like and we will definitely visit again if we are in the areal

We had booked a week in advance for a birthday celebration for 6 of us. We enjoyed the food and service last time, so seemed an ideal choice for special treat after lockdown.Starters arrived at different times, so disappointing. Main good was great and arrived altogether. Waited over 20 minutes for someone to take our dessert order, so decided to ask for the bill instead. Waited a further 20 minutes for this, but still not received, so asked again. After a further 10 mins it arrived, but the delays had spoiled the experience.We arrived at 5.30 and left over 2 hours later... won't rush back next time....

We had lunch and Breakfast here. The staff are always very friendly and give a great service. Could not fault the food at all. If you have a veterans card you get a discount too.

We visited The Roebuck for a family lunch which was delicious. Excellent service in a very clean and Covid safe environment. Nothing was too much trouble for our servers Hannah and Meg.

My Hubby and I dined this past weekend here for the first time as our last meal out before Lockdown 2.0Well we are gutted we have only just found this place just before it closes for Lockdown again.Staff attentive without being overboard, food was Amazing.. Could not fault it. I even had dessert as I couldn't get enough of the food.We are local ish but already planning to book a stay in the Premier Inn just so we can eat here and have a few drinks.

Stayed at the Premier Inn next door and had a great evening meal at The Roebuck, staff were excellent under difficult circumstances and could not do enough for you. Squid to start , Hake for main and Chocolate Torte I couldn’t fault any of it and plenty of time to enjoy in what felt like a safe environment. Breakfast was good too !!!!Thank you to all.....

We dined here for the first time whilst driving back from Garstang. A really friendly and relaxing pub and restaurant. The menu had lots to choose from and the steak we ordered was perfect. We were looked after by Daryl who couldn’t do enough for us, so friendly and recommended a lovely wine to go with our meal. We will absolutely return. Also have to mention their COVID measures were very good and we felt very safe. Thanks to all for a great meal and big thanks to Daryl for making us feel so looked after.

If you are looking for somewhere with a menu covering a wide range of dishes, including all the usual pub staples, then the Roebuck offers a great choice of venue with good quality food. From the outset, our lunch was managed safely and professionally ensuring we were relaxed in our environment. The customer service provided by our host Ra was impeccable without ever feeling "fussy". We both choose fish for our main course and both dishes tasted delicious and were well presented. Our first visit and we look forward to visiting again soon.

Once again dining at the Roebuck was a delightful experience. The food served is delicious and enjoyable. The menu choice is very good. We find the staff very friendly and all staff follow the Covid measures in place. We always look forward to our next visit to the Roebuck when we stay in the area.

George and Jo went to the Roebuck. Excellent. George had scampi. Jo had Hunter's chicken. Jo was pleased with chef Roebuck's flexibility, allowing her to indulge in a salad, rather than fries. Both enjoyed the sharing platter, it was excellent. Excellent drinks, excellent food, excellent venue. All that has been mentioned, however, pales in comparison to Anna's service. She is fab, and tended to us with the attention of an owl, and the friendliness of koala. We will return.

After a long journey north to Premier Inn I wasn't sure what restaurant we would be greeted with. After looking at their website & seeing it was fully booked I was surprised to see empty tables when we walked in. The decor was in keeping with the type of establishment, very warm feeling, quick service, delicious food, the best desert I've ever had (blackberry & apply crumble with custard) Nathan was friendly & efficient, great experience

We had stopped over night at the premier inn and needed a place to have dinner. They were fully booked but I explained we just wanted a quick meal and we wouldn’t be hanging around because of the kids Adam squeezed us in. We enjoyed the meal very much, the cod and chips were lovely and the wee man loved his little pizza. All covid precautions were taken, the whole place was clean and toilets spotless. I visit the roebuck regularly for a couple of drinks and the team are always polite and friendly. Covid measures all in place, making me and my partner feel safe. Table service that now is on offer is a bonus. Keep up the good work guys.

This is our first time back since February and we had a lovely meal. We were warmly welcomed by staff who couldn’t do enough for us and the safety measures in place made us feel at ease. The food was delicious and well presented.Thank you for a lovely time, we will be back soon.

Visited this weekend with my boyfriend. We thought as I had tried here before and enjoyed it we'd return. They didn't dissapoint, the staff were still welcoming and friendly and we both felt safe with all the covid secure procedures they had in place and enjoyed ourselves. Can recommend the special, duck salad!

Such a shame but we were so disappointed with the food quality and portion size today. The service wasn’t great but I understand it’s difficult times. Food coming without cutlery, then waiting for that to arrive and sauces minutes later etc! It was just poor on every level. It was also dirty and tables were not being wiped down between customers.

We have stayed at the adjacent Premier Inn several times and until 2019 would be rating this pub 5 stars. Last year and this we have had similar experiences. As a real ale drinker I have been happy to see 4 hand pumps on the bar, but on both occasions only one has been in use, surprising as the pub is owned by a brewery. The evening meal has been excellent on every visit, so much so that my wife looks forward to the sea bass and scallops for weeks before our holiday. The service has also been great (thank you Charlotte this year). However the continental breakfast has not gone well either year. Last year the usual buffet was not kept stocked either with food or crockery, and when the receptionist at the hotel asked if we had enjoyed breakfast we told her what had happened and she refunded the cost. This year, because of the Covid-19 restrictions the whole breakfast has to be table service. Although we had booked a slot we did not get a drink (either hot or cold) for at least 30 minutes and the whole breakfast took an hour and a quarter, heaven knows how long a cooked breakfast would have taken!

Visited 22nd September,for a late lunch,Three of us had a 3 course lunch with drinks in amiable surroundings! An extensive menu was enjoyed,the staff were pleasant ,good service.Covid regulations were upheld,the place/toilets were very clean! enjoyed our visit!

Breakfast was good but no brown bread. Was supposed to open at 8 but didn't open until 8.10 which made us late for an appointment.

We had breakfast here yesterday following a night at premier inn next door. The entrance desk is in the middle of the marked ‘out’ one way system. Only one entrance door was open so the one way system was useless. The staff were wearing visors, which are great for protecting their own eyes but not for protecting customers in any way.Staff handled everything including the cutlery and a bottle of ketchup that was passed from table to table. We asked for a second round of juice. The server collected our glasses which he placed randomly on a tray, went and refilled the same glasses, regardless of what had been in them previously and who they belonged to, and returned them to our table. He then lent over us all to pass them over. Not only was the ‘covid safety’ shocking but the service was so slow! It took nearly an hour and a half to have a simple cooked breakfast. We have eaten in quite a few places since they reopened and this was one of the worst.

My family all ordered the turkey roast. The pig in blanket sausage could have been cooked more & the streaky bacon around it was very fatty & hardly cooked. We only noticed later that we hadn't received any cranberry sauce even though the menu states it comes with it. The turkey was lovely but little of it. Overall was disappointing, very few customers & we won't be returning. The Malthouse Farm in Chorley is also a Chef & Brewer and their food has never been disappointing & they are usually fully booked, so will go there again in future.

We’ve been here a couple of times since we moved to the area.Lots of space as per covid stuff, staff explained process clearly.Mushroom starter which was really nice.Main signature hunters chicken which was excellent.Nice decor, great food & excellent staff, what more do you need?

We arrived around 10 minutes before food service was available, we had not booked a table but was promptly welcomed and shown to a table. First impressions were great, lovely decor and clean, the waitress was wearing a face shield and there was plenty of signs around to encourage social distancing. The menu was printed on a A3 piece of paper, looked good and have plenty to offer. The waitress quickly offered us a highchair and asked us if we want to order drinks whilst we looked. Great. For Starter we ordered a sharing Camembert plate. It was well presented, the cheese was lovely and piping hot, the bread was really just thin toast (nothing really special and could of done with more) and the bread straws were not very nice at all, they would of been much nice if they were baked as they were very soft and seemed stale. However we still really enjoyed the started and would order again. For our mains we ordered a seabass florentine, ken enjoyed this, thought the hollandaise sauce seems slightly curdled in texture but still tasted great and wasn't a problem for him. I had the pork belly with a bbq glaze, the pork belly was cooked really well and fell apart as it should, the bbq glaze was very sparse (thats how I like it though, as the pork its self was incredibly tasty) the chips were usual pub chips, very hot and perfectly done. The only issue for me was what the pork was sat on, not nearly enough, just a few peas and two small pieces of small wilted gem lettuce (and bacon, enough of that) just thought the dish lacked vegetables. Oh it also had two perfectly cooked large pieces of crackling! Gorgeous. I would order again. We declined the dessert menu and requested the bill. We were able to recieve a brilliant 20% off the total food bill with our blue light card! Thank you! We enjoyed our lunch and would come back.

Stayed across the road at Guys court & fancied a change, went for lunch at £42 for 2 x 3 courses not a bargain so expect a standard. Very very disappointed, soup ok, weak packaged slab of butter & slice of bread, then gammon & steak sandwich for main, ordered gammon with jacket & mushy peas, got chips & garden, ( 6 people in the place). Steak sandwich, 6 pieces of chewy steak on 2 pieces of brown bread with a handful of frozen chips, greasy cafe would give you better meals, gammon dried & cold, puddings 2 apple crumble frozen pies with a little jug of custard, on a massive plate probably to justify the £4.95. Iv read the other reviews here & can not believe it. Must have been a total off day we were there. We did tell them on the day, they apologised & swapped the gammon. 6 people in the place & we had to wait for cutlery with every course. We thought it was a wind up. Below average food with terrible service & I for one would never go back. So so not good enough. Send in a mystery customer at lunchtime

We had a lovely meal here on Wednesday evening! We were making the most of the eat out to help out scheme. Even though the restaurant was busy (good sign!), the food was absolutely beautiful and we didn’t have to wait too long. Really lovely service too, especially from Chloe! We’ll definitely be returning. I can totally recommend the Bakewell Tart for dessert!

Me and my brother went out for a meal to catch up and I have never been so amazed in my life! The food was delicious and presented so well. Our server Chloe went above and beyond for us and made us feel really welcome. I could imagine her working in a high end restaurant with her bubbly personality and professional standards. Every time she walked past our table she would give us a warm smile. There was a customer who was very rude towards her and shocked me and my brother. Chloe dealt with this very professionally. When we left the pub we felt happy and our belly’s full. Amazing service and a warm environment is definitely somewhere we will be visiting many times!!!!

Had a lovely 2 course meal with my sister. We was informed on the way in the food maybe 40 to 50 minutes but we had the whole meal in just over an hour and everything was hot, well presented and tasty.I did unfortunately have to witness an incredibly rude customer talk down to a member of staff Chloe who by chance was the main server for my table. Chloe could have quite easily and understandably lost her temper with the rude older lady but didn’t lower herself and continued to give the great service she had given to me and my sister, Couldn’t fault her she was attentive and polite. I hadn’t been to the roebuck for quite some time despite living not too far away but I will be back again .

The service here was fab! We were served by Chloe who was friendly, polite and efficient at making our meal go smoothly. All other members of staff we spoke to we just as welcoming and all appear happy. As always, the food was delicious! This is a lovely pub which is definitely becoming our ‘go to’ place!

Been here a couple of times over the last month and both times the food was really nice. The portion sizes are huge and there’s plenty of choice on the menu! I had the chicken Kiev in a basket the second time and it was delicious! The coating on the chicken was spot on, and the Kiev sauce was soo good (a little sickly so definitely one to dip not pour over). The only issue is there’s not much atmosphere, the place is really big and both times was pretty much empty. Otherwise would recommend for a good little dinner spot with the family!

After a busy day of meetings in West Lancashire I decided to meet a colleague at the Roebuck for a couple of soft drinks and a meal. The staff was very professional welcoming and briefed us on Roebucks Social distancing rules showed us to our table and then took our orders. The food was fresh and delicious.

Fourth visit at The Roebuck. Slightly disappointed at how slow the service was. Me and my family waited a good 10 minutes until someone came up to us and offered us some seating, despite numerous amounts of staff noticing we were waiting but choosing to ignore us. Ordered drinks and about 15/20 minutes later they arrived at our table. Not too impressed for service.

Meg and the team deliver on all counts! Booked just the day before, great social distancing measures in place and enforced. Great menu choices for adults and children - have a small and large appetite options. I have had hunters chicken in many different restaurants, but the one here is amazing. The deserts are AMAZING to!!

Bobbed in for a drink following a nice afternoon out. Excellent COVID precautions. Staff were wonderful especially Chloe who was more than helpful. Atmosphere was great and table service was really efficient.

Meg's team at the Roebuck are really getting it right. Very welcoming with lots of signage and cleaning stations apparent throughout. A special mention to our excellent waiter Nathan who was animated and a pleasure to deal with. Once again the food was very good and we will definitely be returning and making this our go to pub!

A nice place to relax and dine. Very friendly staff, good food that’s tastes very nice. Nice clean setting. My only and minor critique is the wait for food on a not very busy day. But overall we loved this place and would return.

A Really enjoyable first meal out after lockdown - One of our boys (aged 8) has being shielding so this was the fist chance we had to go our for a meal. The Roebuck is a pub we have called in on for years so knew the layout would suit the covid guidlines.All the staff were fantastic & the pub fully compliant, we booked ahead & they had even saved an extra table next to us to give us a bit more distance,The Food & service was excellent & everybody enjoyed all the meal (unusual for a group of 4 including kids!)Thanks you & we will be back

Staying at the Premier Inn next door so booked a table, which was lucky as it was super busy due to it being the first day of Boris’s 50% off deals. Long wait for food but when it came it was delicious. The mixed grill was particularly good and cooked to perfection. Top quality food and the friendliest waiter - Nathan - made it a really enjoyable evening.

Visited here twice 19th and 20th July 2020. Excellent service, excellent food and fantastic beers. We were actually staying at guys court across the road. But after visiting the roebuck on the first night we went the second night. We had the share plate both evenings with extra onion rings and sweet potatoe fries. Cant fault the place. Brilliant guys thanks. Keep up the great work.

Lovely food & quick service. The host explained all the social distancing guidelines/rules and we ordered on the app which was super easy to use. Our starters arrived quickly, plates cleared & our mains were served promptly after. The team were all really friendly when bringing anything over to the table, walking around constantly smiling. I had the chicken goujons to start which were nice and crispy big pieces of chicken, and then a gammon that came with plenty of chips. I got onion rings on the side which were fresh and not at all soggy, which is my usual pet peeve. We ordered second drinks on the app and arrived within a couple of minutes of ordering. Good service and food. Will visit again!

We have never eaten here before and will definitely come back. It was our first night out for a meal in months. The staff are all friendly and we had Daryl who very professional and smiley. Good sized portions and the Eton mess pudding is recommended. Particularly impressed with all safety measures put in, all staff in face shields, lots of cleaning going on and clear signage with hand sanitisers dotted around. It felt a safe environment. Thank you Roebuck from two happy NHS workers.

Visited Roebuck for a pub tea on the way home, inside the atmosphere was nice and calm, even during this pandemic.Food was nice and staff were nice and polite. We were served by Penny, who was in training, but was lovely to us and did really well.

We both ordered Sunday roasts which was lovely, Service Was Fast , and Katrice our host Was Amazing! We Will Be Returning Soon! :)

Booked for an evening meal for myself and my girlfriend. Once we arrived was seated right away. Allowed us plenty of time to order food. For starters I got the mussels and my other half got the salt and pepper squid. The addition of samphire with the mussels made the excellent. Couldn’t fault it at all, same with the squid it was cooked excellently. However when the starters came I was slightly disappointed with my burger. There was no sauce on the burger like described on the menu so I had to use the sauce provided on the side. The cheese was plastic like, Chicken on the burger was cooked excellent and the batter was great. However the chips didn’t seem ‘triple cooked’ and I ordered the side of cheese and truffle mayo chips and it was just a dollop of mayo under some melted cheese which was a shame. My girlfriend got the breaded chicken with Kiev sauce which was great, couldn’t fault it at all. Just needed more of the Kiev sauce is the only downfall

We hadn't been out since before the lockdown and thought after calling at my sons near Galgate to celebrate his 40th birthday that we would eat out and this place was recommended. We were a party of 9 but settled on two side by side tables in a corner. Service was good, food great----- everyone cleared their plates and prices reasonable. Everything Covid related was spot on. Go on give it a try, you'll be glad you did.

Booked for an evening meal, arrived early but were made to feel welcome straight away. Enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal and drinks for under 80.00. Great value and even better food!!

The first time we had been out for lunch since Covid19 started so did not know what to expect. Lovely greeting when we arrived. Really welcoming, well organised without restricting the whole experience which was what I was concerned about. Excellent service from Meg and Penny. Excellent food and wine. Our comfort and safety was obviously important to the team however did not affect the service we received. It only enhanced it. Well done to all the team at the Roebuck. We will certainly be back soon as the menu and service was exceptional.

Lovely quiet pub with great staff. The food we had was hot and delicious. Definitely worth a visit. All four of us had different meals and all of them were top notch. The drinks were not bad either

Went with my parents for a late lunch, on arrival I asked for the lunchtime menu, the lady that was on brought us all the menus when I did say we just wanted that menu. The food was good I had the ploughmens and the portion size was generous, Everybody was happy with their food, the pub has a nice atmosphere not to busy but not to quiet.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the meals that we ordered. We both chose from the pie selection and our meals arrived promptly and were beautifully cooked. Our desserts were excellent.The member of staff who served us. 'Ra' was friendly, professional and courteous, a credit to Chef and Brewer and to herself.

First ever visit to the Roebuck and haven't had such an amazing surprise in ages. Beautiful pub, brilliant, friendly and professional staff and simply incredible food. Hunters Chicken was best Hunters Chicken I've ever eaten.If you are ever anywhere near the Roebuck, enhance your life by popping in.

I had a lovely meal here with my wife and friends. It had a warm and friendly atmosphere with tasty food. Our server Megan was great and helped us to enjoy our evening. Our compliments to the team in the kitchen, the food was excellent.

We came over the weekend and it was really busy but the lovely staff managed to fit us in, being a family of 5 we wasn't so sure.The food was great, the service was great and I would definately recommend the large hunters chicken, and the kids meals were great too.The colouring crayons was an excellent touch also.

Very good pub/restaurant with nice friendly staff, decor needs freshening up and tidying like chips out of the tables and carpet needs changing and brightening up etc.

Came with a group of 10 friends. Mixture of drinkers and people dining. Excellent service, would recommend to everyone! Menu has so much to choose from and everyone has something different which they all enjoyed.

Excellent service and amazing food. I came here with my sister and we were pleasantly greeted by Ra, she was an amazing waitress with a very relaxed attitude. The food options were great along with the good service. No pressure on leaving and the environment was also relaxed. Definitely recommend

Served this lamb kofta that looks like somebody else has had their teeth in it. No “service” dreadful food. Still waiting for plates.... half an hour and counting.

One of the best meals weve had in a long time. Service was good considering the place was so busy (even on a Wednesday evening in the middle of January!) The place has a lovely atmosphere too. We will be back soon.

Was first hard to park as I passed the turn in on my first pass but once inside, my mind was at ease. Was greeted by friendly staff and taken to our table straight away for me and my partner. Next the food, I ordered the cod and chips since it has been a while since I have had this classic dish and when it came out the colour was spectaular and the taste was to match. When finishing up the staff said their farewells and we left with great food in our stomachs and a great place to recommend to all.

We came to the Roebuck for a meal and it was absolutely gorgeous would definitely recommend this venue for good food we was hosted by Anna who may I add was a beautiful lovely very helpful young lady keep smiling Anna and thank you very much for a pleasant and welcoming evening we will be back x

Lovely pub, found the staff very welcoming and helpful. I went with my friend, I enjoyed the chicken in a basket and my friend had lamb pie. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, would definitely recommend!
