Great service, welcoming, clean and tidy all around, overall a a lovely atmosphere. Food is spot on. Lynsey and Dave have created a thriving establishment.

Lovely staff team who were very supportive and understanding when we visited recently with a young man who was celebrating his 18th Birthday. He became overwhelmed by the occasion and went into crisis. The staff Team were lovely and reassuring- thank you.

Love coming here when we are in the area because of the warm, inviting ambience making it an extremely family friendly pub. Always greeted and served by polite happy staff. Special mention to Jess H always polite and goes out of her way to be helpful. Food always great looking forward to our next visit.

Went few times for breakfast and sunday lunch carvery, good prices and good food. Staff always available.

The service is ok and the atmosphere is great, this will review will primarily focus on the food however, because it was disappointing. I came here with my parents and in fairness, the carvery dinners were actually brilliant. Meat was cooked well, vegetables soft and full of flavour, gravy had the right level of thickness, etc. I didn't have a dinner however, I had a pizza and....yikes. It was so greasy. Of course I expect some grease on a pizza, but this was swimming in grease and the base had the texture of a wet sock. I felt ill after having it. If you come here, avoid the pizza, don't get the burgers either, they are usually dry and somewhat underwhelming, just get the dinners. I had some ice-cream for desert and that was tasteless, it was almost slush ice with a bit of syrup on top. If they make their own, they need to use more condensed milk and the cream wasn't whipped enough. They could do better, it's a matter of can they afford to and do they want to?

Everything was as expected for our second visit.

It was an Ok meal (not much veg choices on carvery but the main issues are it's overall poorly maintained huge pot hole in the carpark, carpets are so dirty and just seems a little run down I was visiting the area and I probably wouldn't return unfortunately

Came for breakfast yesterday arrived at 10.20am didnt actually get any food until 10.40am as there was no bacon no eggs no black pudding and no mushrooms we had to stand around and wait for the above items to be cooked quite a few of us stood round waiting patiently when asked how long the staff just said about 5 mins which actually was more like 15 in the end. Why wait until its all gone before cooking more leaving disatisfied customers waiting around. Very disappointed in this visit wont be rushing back

Went to the carvery with my family for Sunday dinner. When at the carvery the food was great. The waitress who showed us to our table ( Jess) was brilliant she made sure the table was cleaned and helped get my children their deserts . Jess helped my children get ice cream. Jess went above and beyond to help me and my family and is a vital and an asset to the team. She deserves to gain credit for the work she did

The food was great and the service was just as good, the staff were friendly and helpful. Ruben took our order in the carvery section and delivered the food to the table, he was very polite and went out of his way to make sure we had a very good dining experience. It is also a great place to be with the family.

Went with a friend for a breakfast carvery, was perfect! The eggs were spots on….good sausages and bacon, hash browns were lovely too All added to a nice relaxed atmosphere and very clean pub

The staff where amazing & helpful, just the food could be brought out on a hot plate! Also the place could do wiry some money spending on it, or maybe a area manager taking a look, rather than giving out surveys just to ignore them!!!!

I visited this evening and was shown to -a small table crammed next to a lairy party, we maybe as well have been sat on the same table as them, The table we was shown to was dirty with left over food on it, not even a small amount, like you couldn’t miss it but apparently the waitress did. The waitress didn’t stick around she just showed us over and walked off didn’t say anything. We ordered at the bar and the food was fine to be fair. It’s just the service that is shocking. Whilst eating I noticed a woman with young children and a baby in her arms ask the male waiter if he would get some meat for her from the carvery deck. 10 minutes passed and this guy is still stood there in the queue, surely he could have used some common sense and gone into the kitchen and asked the chefs to cut some meat for the woman who was struggling to keep her kids occupied. The woman got up with baby in arms and asked the two waitresses if it was going to take much longer because the waiter was letting everyone go ahead of him. Another 5 mins pass, woman gets back up and has had enough of waiting, tells the waitress’ she wants a refund & goes back to her table. The lad came over to one of the girls and was laughing about it. Two minutes later the girl sits another table down near us on a another dirty table. So it took two of them to clean one table and ignore the other one that needed doing whilst they complain about how tired they were from college. It made me so mad that not one out of the 3 staff members could help this woman who was clearly struggling. There was no manager to be seen and perhaps if there was a management presence on shift this wouldn’t have happened.

Great place for a serve yourself breakfast. It's all decent food and a fantastic price. The decor is a bit rough and tired, but the breakfast is fantastic

Great staff and a lovely welcome. What’s immediately apparent is that the whole place is crying out for a refurb. Ripped wallpaper and carpet and generally tatty. It needs a good clean too. The canopy over the servery was disgusting to be honest. Food was good though and the service was excellent. I feel sorry for the staff as I get the impression they work hard and get very little from the owners. The place just needs a good going over.

Definitely no reservations in recommending as a great breakfast to kick off the day. A good variety and friendly staff. My personal preference would be for a better quality bread/ toast offering and brewed tea/coffee. However to offer a budget friendly price I guess businesses have to make economies of scale so it's only an indication of preference, not a criticism. The key question is would I take a long lost buddy again to enjoy a good catch-up over a hearty breakfast? Most definitely! They do a pretty good job overall.

Came for breakfast with a friend and it was so good. You can go back as many times as you want, so definitely get your money's worth. The sausages were scrummy as well as the hash browns. Wide range of food available, some I didn't try, including tomatoes, mushrooms and black pudding. You can toast the bread to your liking too. Will certainly come again.

Visited for breakfast, the unlimited breakfast was great value and very tasty! The buffet is fully stocked most the time so no waiting for new food to be brought out which is good.

I have to say, this was the best carvery i have had. Although when we arrived we hadn't booked a table we got one in 15 minutes max. While being seated, 5 of us went carvery, one went burger. After the order was given at the bar, drinks back at the table, we joined the cue. The chef was pleasant, and everyone got a good amount of meat Veg was hot and plentiful, plus gravy and sauces Although the grown-up viewed the sweet menu We were full The kids had sweet Definitely recommend this place I am sure ee will back

Just love this place and am a regular visitor. There are lots of offers on the app now so well worth downloading. Not every where gives you a free meal! Basically I would miss the carvery if it was not available.

menu was not clear or specific and the interior is all damaged, there were rips in the seats, a stain on the pool table and no straws for drinks. They also had an offer for two courses but barely any option on the courses and didn’t specify it has to be a starter and main or a main and desert, the food arrive either very fast or very late and was very overpriced, definitely not worth the money, my friend ordered a burger and the salad was a single piece of lettuce. staff were nice though not returning again

The carvery was bland except for the tasty pigs-in-blankets. The meat was fatty, the mash sloppy, the gravy was runny and the vegs over cooked and tasteless. Myself and nine friends met up on a Saturday afternoon, due to the location being perfect, sadly we won't be returning.

Staff were great and sorted the table out for my mums 70th birthday, they Even brought out the cake and joined in with the singing! Generous amount of meat from the carvery and it was one of the best carveries we’ve ever had!!! Could’ve cleaned the plates up quicker after eating though as we waited 20 minutes before asking for them to be cleared.

We arranged a click and collect on Christmas day. On arrival was met by the landlord working hard on Christmas day. He arranged for our food to be boxed and had a drink while we waited. The food was boxed on time and arrival home was still warm. It had everything for a Christmas fay meal. It was amazing cooled to perfection and plenty for us all. I will never make a Christmas dinner again and as I've told everyone I know how great it was I just hope I get a slot next year. Thank you for making Christmas easier it was fantastic including the service we received from booking to receiving.

Went for a Christmas party with my friendship group, we had reserved our tables in advance for 30 people. We had no problems, the food was good, the service was impeccable, absolutely no complaints.

Had trouble booking the Pig and Whistle as it was fully booked on Boxing Day but the manager managed to fit me in which I was very grateful for. The staff were wonderful especially David and Scarlett. I visit here on a regular basis as I find I can relax here with no bother.

Booked hoping to enjoy the Christmas Carvery. Arrived to find no mention anywhere in the pub of Christmas Carvery, no special set menu of Xmas Fayre. We ordered regular food from the everyday menu, which as pretty standard for this type of pub bland & served cold. There was mess everywhere from previous customers and tables were not clean.

The service was great,as was the food. I would recommend you to others.

Service and carvery was fantastic .. however, the whole pub could do with a freshen up/ lick of paint .... and the toilets could be fixed 5 we're out if order

Went for the carvery. Staff great but won't be returning. Having had many a carvery with this chain, then I have to say the whole experience fell short. Noisy atmosphere, sticky tables, food was tasteless and just warm. Very disappointing

Breakfast was not bad except staff not placing Bread in bread box, instead emptied like rubbish in a bin. Paid £6 for breakfast and about £3 for Coffee. Wetherspoons are doing traditional breakfast for £3 plus £1 free refills coffees, hot chocolate and tea. Update note - I Normally ask for a plastic cup to take coffee away no problem, but when asked on last visit say will bring it then ignore me before going, if a customer pays for a service should get a reason for not bothering. Anyway Blackpool Carvery is probably better than this place.

Went for a staff Christmas dinner, which was wonderful, couldn't fault it. The vegan options were good. Went there a few years ago, and the experience was terrible. Very much improved now. The young lady did a fantastic job looking after our large group on Friday evening. The manager was informative and answered questions we had. Lovely night was had. The apple pie was delicious 😋

Take out breakfast and carvery bought in the same day decent slices of meat provided but children are only allowed to slices prices have escalated slightly me and my dog had a dinner date from our take out realised there was no sweetcorn and limited choice. Gravy was cold

I booked a table for Sunday lunch and from the minute we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. My son is very particular when it comes to food and the staff were very helpful in making his dinner how he wanted it. The carvery that the rest of us had was absolutely fantastic, we haven't eaten at the Pig & Whistle but while but the standard of the food and the service hasn't dipped its still one of our favourite family Sunday lunch venues. Keep up the great work. The staff are a credit to the company
