Great place to come with family... There's usually 16 of us. Fab choices of food and drinks for all. Friendly atmosphere. Great value for money. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I was disappointed as the carvery was cold I know it was two o clock it would have been very tasty if it was hot then mash and Yorkshire puddings was stone cold

Disappointed to be fair. We used to come here quite regularly as the food was always amazing. This time, not so much. The carvery veg was all dry and wasn’t much available. There was also a very hard piece of onion stalk/skin that was in a calzone pizza that stuck into my partner’s gum. They did offer a discount/freebie which was nice although we didn’t accept. It’s cheap food and you ultimately get what you pay for.

Delicious food at a reasonably price, staff were all friendly and the deals were amazing, will return here regularly!

I had ‘The Full Works’ Sunday Carvery here which was lovely. The staff are friendly and attentive. A great place to eat in Preston.

Decent pub grub. The manager was very friendly and even came over to the table to let us know when the breakfast buffet was ending. I had a selection of starters which were well cooked and tasty. The breakfast options are extensive and reasonably priced.

I go to the pig & whistle regularly but more Importantly every Christmas day lunch. The carvery is always on par and the staff are really friendly. Overall a great friendly place to eat out or drink and just chill out. ☆☆☆☆☆ Highly recommended.

The staff at the pig and whistle are very accommodating to my family needs while we enjoyed our Christmas meal. Always making sure we had everything we needed. We all had the 3 course festive menu which everyone loved as had a good choice for everyone.

Food was great service was shocking attitude and arrogance of the staff was unreal

Excellent food. I had from the menu my partner had the carvery. Both were excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. would recommend and definitely visit again. 2nd visit food and service just as good. Will make this a regular Food was lovely and atmosphere brilliant until the last round of drinks came. My grandson was questioned about his age and the server would not accept his id even after 3 seperate servers had served his drinks without any problem. She then took him from the table to see her supervisor which I found very humiliating, I would expect the supervisor to come to the table. I asked for The manager who reluctantly allowed the drink but did not even speak to me. We have always enjoyed meals here but I may look elsewhere in future

Lovely pub lovey food lovley service, Scarlett who is always all over the pub working very hard n very professional always wearing a smile, if I owned a pub she is the 1st person is I'd employ but no reflection on any of the other staff all are brilliant love my visits in there. 👍

Meat was small amount Child had sausage and asked for 2 yorkie but refused Ice cream was poor quality

We visited this evening and the service was great, staff looked like they enjoyed their jobs and were helpful and smiling. There was a new addition to a 3 course festivity menu and it was a chicken stack burger and it’s really tasty and very reasonably priced. Recommend to try this place

Been in lots of times now & often get served by Scarlett who is lovely to the customers. She is pleasant & does a great job. I have had pub's & restaurants myself & would develop her skills further in the hospitality industry. She has got something extra with people skills. Just needs her confidence to develop further.

Ive given the food 4stars as even though it was good it was only warm ..we had the carvery maybe they should cover the dishes of food when there's no one at the counter 🤔 just a thought .but it's not expensive so can't complain too much.

We had a very delicious breakfast, we went for the typical English breakfast. Very cozy place and the dinner was also delicious.

Food was terrible. Pizza toppings raw (veggi) breaded mushrooms were full of water and gross. Childs chicken burger was a big chunk of chicken in a bun he wouldn’t touch it was it was tough. Wasn’t happy at all and felt like such a waste of money.

Food very good, serving staff excellent . But overall pub is very tired. ie scratched tables paint work marked and scuffed. Carpets getting worn.

Food is always so nice. The staff are lovely especially the lady who served us, her name is Gill. I think is a manager along with others who served us. Defo come again.

I came for a Birthday meal. The staff reserved a selection of tables ready. The staff are friendly and helpful. However, if you don't order the carvery, food takes a long time to come out. Some of our guests waited up to 40 minutes for burgers and pizza well after everyone else had eaten. Also, the air con either doesn't work or wasn't on and everyone was uncomfortably hot. I presume the air con doesn't work as it looks terribly old looking and the walls had water stains from condensation. There's no windows to open and it made it an unpleasant experience. Aside from the heat and the slow service, there wasn't any other complaints.

Dissappointed today called in for lunch. The carvery was not so nice couldn't have beef as it was all dried up. So opted for pork that wasn't to bad. Wife had gammon and turkey ate turkey left gammon struggled to cut it never mind eat it. First time I have seen wife leave half a plate of food. Very disappointed won't be back for a while. Called in again today 25 10 24 coffee was awful food on breakfast was dried up could not cut bacon fried bread was very dry eggs swimming in oil not pleasant at all. Wife's idea to try left most of food again dissapointing.

Had Carvery couple of weeks ago,Turkey was dry,Roast potatoes were awful.Been having carverys for quite a long time,always enjoyed it but this was a disappointment.

Went for carvery on Sunday evening after booking a table for 3 people. Nothing mentioned about lack of meat availability when I rang to book the table. Paid at the bar and was told there was no turkey available. Queued up, only to be told, there was only gammon left. Was given gammon and a vegan sausage. Asked for pigs in blankets only to be told they were extra. Given the lack of meat availability I found this to be quite insulting. Gammon was very salty. Shall not be going back again

Amazing service came in for a pizza and the staff at the counter where very friendly and kind when I was ordering 10/10 definitely coming back came back 2 months later and the service was incredible by Alyssa at the bar thanks guys

Arranged with the manager to have my wife's birthday party with them, and the occasion and food was spot on, all my family enjoyed it very much, I appreciate all the help from all the staff and the chefs from making my wife's 70th a lovely day to remember, my kindness regards Mr Emsley.

The food here is good, but I'm mainly posting to say the staff were wonderful, really child friendly. My kids loved this place, especially the self service ice cream 😂
