I came for a Birthday meal. The staff reserved a selection of tables ready. The staff are friendly and helpful. However, if you don't order the carvery, food takes a long time to come out. Some of our guests waited up to 40 minutes for burgers and pizza well after everyone else had eaten. Also, the air con either doesn't work or wasn't on and everyone was uncomfortably hot. I presume the air con doesn't work as it looks terribly old looking and the walls had water stains from condensation. There's no windows to open and it made it an unpleasant experience. Aside from the heat and the slow service, there wasn't any other complaints.

Dissappointed today called in for lunch. The carvery was not so nice couldn't have beef as it was all dried up. So opted for pork that wasn't to bad. Wife had gammon and turkey ate turkey left gammon struggled to cut it never mind eat it. First time I have seen wife leave half a plate of food. Very disappointed won't be back for a while. Called in again today 25 10 24 coffee was awful food on breakfast was dried up could not cut bacon fried bread was very dry eggs swimming in oil not pleasant at all. Wife's idea to try left most of food again dissapointing.

Carvery is excellent kids dinner great value for the money

Ordered on Uber eats and was rank, bag that got delivered with didn’t come sealed or anything.

Great place for a roast dinner, plenty of different vegetables, the meats are tasty and well cooked. The nee apple and cinnamon pie is delicious, might give one of the new burgers a try on our next visit.

I came with my husband and granddaughter and the food was great, the staff were friendly and helpful, I got asked if my granddaughter would like to do some colouring which was nice of the girl serving. The carvery was fresh and hot, and I had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert and it was lovely.

Slow to be served at the bar, food tasteless and overcooked. Roast potatoes like bullets!

Had Carvery couple of weeks ago,Turkey was dry,Roast potatoes were awful.Been having carverys for quite a long time,always enjoyed it but this was a disappointment.

Went for carvery on Sunday evening after booking a table for 3 people. Nothing mentioned about lack of meat availability when I rang to book the table. Paid at the bar and was told there was no turkey available. Queued up, only to be told, there was only gammon left. Was given gammon and a vegan sausage. Asked for pigs in blankets only to be told they were extra. Given the lack of meat availability I found this to be quite insulting. Gammon was very salty. Shall not be going back again

Friendly staff , great food. Nothing you need to improve on.

I'll go 4 star . The boys and girls put there back into it an create a really pleasant atmosphere ,family couples or like me just a couple of beers an a decent meal. Nice 👍

Amazing service came in for a pizza and the staff at the counter where very friendly and kind when I was ordering 10/10 definitely coming back came back 2 months later and the service was incredible by Alyssa at the bar thanks guys

What really made my visit stand out, though, was the exceptional service from Paige, the lovely blonde girl who served us. She was warm, attentive, and had the brightest smile that made the evening even more enjoyable. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. If you're looking for great food and fantastic service, I highly recommend the Pig and Whistle. Can't wait to return!

Arranged with the manager to have my wife's birthday party with them, and the occasion and food was spot on, all my family enjoyed it very much, I appreciate all the help from all the staff and the chefs from making my wife's 70th a lovely day to remember, my kindness regards Mr Emsley.

The food here is good, but I'm mainly posting to say the staff were wonderful, really child friendly. My kids loved this place, especially the self service ice cream 😂

Our retired group meet at the Pig and Whistle every month for a lunch and the carvery and the service are always excellent. Scarlett deserves an extra mention today for being so attentive, tidying our plates and glasses away and sorting out our coffee choices at the table and bringing them over. Polite, efficient and cheerful. Great lunch.

I had a server on Sunday, her name was Grace she was blonde had a really nice chat and she was really helpful with all my questions, our food was brought over by Ruby and it was so lovely of her to check on us as we were eating. Had a great experience and a lovely goodbye from Sarah on the door as we left. Definitely coming back

I was served by a lovely girl called Paige who made sure nothing was ever too much hassle and was extremely attentive. I haven’t experienced service like that in a long time and it is so lovely to see! Food and drink was good and an extremely clean place to eat. Will be returning

Came in for Sunday lunch with the family and was really impressed having never been before. Food was delicious I had a carvery, the chef carving was a lovely, cheerful man who definitely added to the experience and my sister had a pizza which we were really impressed by as it was massive, great quality for the price we paid. Servers were all lovely as well had a lovely chat with a young girl she was blonde and took great care of us asking how our food was. Went for Sunday lunch Place was clean and buzzing atmosphere. We didn’t book but was still able to find a spot to fit us in despise being busy. I think the waiter was called Ruby she was a fantastic young lady with. And with hard work she has a lot of potential in life. Will be back

Go into the pig quite often and get served and seen to by different members off staff but scarlet allways seems to stand out verry polite and well mannered and allways willing to go above and beyond to go out her way to help me and other costumers out

i have been to this place plenty of times, beautiful food and such lovely staff, one worker in particular called ruby has served me lots of times, she has lovely manners, always helps me out, always making sure everything is okay, overall one of the best food places
