Lovely meal at the Wellington. Went with my family, service was excellent, food lovely and really attentive staff. Would definitely recommend. staff were excellent and really looked after the whole party.

Got roast dinner Found a big peace of plastic in my meal Ask for my money back. Was told no. Do not eat there ..staff Was out of order.STAY CLEAR

Went gif an afternoon drink with a friend and it was shut . We turned up after 1pm ….,,,, Said open from 12pm This was on a Thursday probably not go back as don’t trust the opening hours …. It used to be such a good pub serving great food it’s so sad

The (Landlord) was incredibly negative, and grumpy. I was the only person there. it was so quiet because of him. For some bizarre reason, he also put on a fake northern accent when he was obviously from the south.

Superb & drinks are priced fantastic. Memory lane to me, still the great pub its allways been. Darren.

Family trip to celebrate friends birthday, had drinks, good value & choice. Staff were friendly & informatuve, cleared glasses promptly, clean pub.

Very nice beer and good prices served by appreciative man. Quite a unique looking pub I thought quite cozy with music channel and jukebox to liven it up a bit. I was attracted by its haunted reputation and thought I did detect an unusual atmosphere when I visited the toilet.

Well what an absolute blast we had!!! Was in Preston visiting friends for a couple of nights and stumbled upon this cute little treasure of a pub, from the drinks ( which were very reasonably priced ) to the little extras they did we could not fault the atmosphere in here. The new management in there are a barrel of laughs and were very easy to have a chat with. I believe they are going to be serving food again in the very near future so i will absolutely be back again to try this. Thank you so much for an amazing couple of nights.

Cracking pub...called in on 12.01.2024...20 years after I first discovered the Welly in January 2004 on a night out in Preston. Classic town centre boozer. Superb outdoor terrace, and food coming back on soon.

New landlord opened this week. Currently no food provision and closed on Mondays. Friendly traditional local pub looking to re-establish regular customers.

Ah disappointed says it was open midday Sunday but waited and waited it didn't open. Was desperate for a Sunday Roast and seen reviews saying it was fab but let me down with poor time keeping

Great staff, great prices and atmosphere is amazing.

A good traditional public house currently re opened. It's retained much of the old world style and is being improved still by the currant owners. A very warm welcome from the bar was nice on entering. .

It was shut. What is the point of continuing on Google if the dammed pub is permanently shut.

What a fab night, stumbled upon this little gem by accident but so glad we did. Staff are so lovley and friendly. We actually went back after we had been into town because we enjoyed it so much and felt so welcome. Will defo be on our to do list nexr time we hit preston.

Nice warm welcoming pub and lovely land lady.

Very friendly staff, was welcomed with a smile and good service. Pub was bright and airy with its old age charm being retained in the decor and atmosphere. Beer garden is decorated and is of a good size, ideal sun trap for an afternoon drink. Good clean pint of pedigree on draught, the San miguel tasted great cold, good selection of bottles and decent offers on shots

Called in yesterday for a drink but won’t be going again. The place is filthy, behind the bar is full of rubbish and empty bottles. Outside every table was filthy with empty glass and rubbish, the floor was covered in rubbish and cigarette ends, flies were swarming due to the stench from the bins and general dirt everywhere. I didn’t even finish my drink because it was that bad.

Not visited for several years. Now has a different Chef. The steaks and Burger were very, very good. Tasty, well prepared and good value for money. I would recommend a visit

Haven't been here since its refurbishment, ( in fact probably 15 years ) but wasnt disappointed Lovely lunch with an old friend. Staff were really friendly, burger was truly amazing ( not to mention the secret recipe flavouring on the chips) . Really was the best burger I have had in ages. Menu is limited , but very tasty. Will definitely visit again. 😊

Great place, I went in for the second time ever and its changed alot. Gone is the dark dingy look, its fresh and the food was lovely and fresh. We had the 2 burger and 2 pint deal, cant fault it and will be definitely going back to try the Sunday roast. Best of luck to the new landlady and team. Kris

The welly is now in it's 3rd week and is doing well. The beer is great and the atmosphere. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed 😅

Very pleasant dog friendly pub.We had cheeseburgers and French fries from a limited menu and they were really nice. Staff very friendly. Would definitely return.

Family run business, working very hard to get the pub back up and running. Glad to see all the black paint work has gone. Looks so much brighter. Very reasonable prices for beer and looking forward to them restarting food very soon.

Went in between 3-4pm yesterday, staff were brilliant. Food, drinks and service were all great, all social distancing measures were in place and the venue was clean

Highly recommended.. considering the situation were all in and the reputation of the pub, the new landlord has tried keeping the old Welly alive while adding his own twist and it works... I highly recommend a visit so you can see for yourself you won't be disappointed

Only recently under new management so the availability of ales was understandably limited for now. The great jukebox is thankfully still there though -hopefully it will be on our next visit, too.

I went to preston for one night. The Wellington was the first pub I stumbled across at 5 pm after checking in the hotel, and we never left. Honestly the banter was great, the pumps are clean, music we knew every tune, the staff were hilarious! It’s a little gem this! One not to be missed 😀 We didn’t try the food I’m not even sure if they do any but the customer service, and the welcome was amazing! I was only there one night but we’re planning to go back for new year they’re all great 👌👌👌

Called in here as a meeting point for a night out in the town... first disappointment - no cask ales at all.... the Wellie was once a holy site for a good pint of real ale... sadly no more.... this needs rectifying !! secondly the service was really bad.... however, this was not down to the staff... the young woman behind the bar was fab... really pleasant and hard working, but that was the problem... she was expected to do far to much... pool lass.... it was because of the wait that we decided to move on.... the wellies is a fab pub, great inside and out... but it needs to be brave and take the leap of employing more staff and getting things up and running...this way the pub could return to the gem that it once was...

Great quirky pub, good music, really trendy. Great outdoor area, pleasant staff and good beer! Would have scored a 5* but toilets let the rest down. Well worth a visit tho!

We will not be going again. We ordered one starter and two Sunday roasts for all the food to come together. My partner received their starter and main while I wait 10 mins for mine. The food in itself was basic, the broccoli was very over cooked and browned. The stuffing was a large ball of mush, not pleasant. The venue was dirty with cobwebs in many places, dead flies along the window sill on the inside, it the outdoor area a shattered mirror in a dangerous hazard and the toilets were not pleasant and the toilet seat was broken. Judging by the reviews I was expecting better, but was very disappointed.

Before pubs opened inside the atmosphere outside was great. However, standards have slipped when the bars opened inside and the atmosphere became dead. The standards of the food had declined. However, the manager was very welcoming and when we told her about a blip in the quality she offered a free pitcher each.

Went there yesterday for lunch with a friend - found it closed, no notice outside and telephone number disconnected. Scaffolding around the building. Looks like they are having major renovation. They could at least update their website to let customers know what is happening.

Andy Mac (owner) managed to locate it on the cctv camera inside, tracked who took it and with the help of Facebook got the guy who picked it up to transfer me the value of the jacket back as he lost it. (All of this within a day). Thanks again for your help, absolute legend.

The food isn't what it used to no breakfast n fish n chips just burgers or hotdogs! But on a plus note the burgers where home made and tasted great.

There were too many people at this venue. Once you had ordered your drinks, it took staff 20 minutes to bring it to your table. Some of the staff did not know what drinks they served.

ALWAYS ORDER FROM HERE. DELIVERY GOOD BUT HALF THE FOOD MISSING FROM THE MIXED CAVERY. CAN NOT CONTACT ANYONE SO NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

We had 5 dishes for £16 and the food was very tasty. It lacks a little finesse but with more clientele it can only improve.

It was nice, but I didn't like their payment system. You can only order through a waiter and have to pay at a bar. It's a bit annoying when you have to keep fetching a waiter and walk to the bar and back every time you want a drink.

Belated thanks to Sarah and team at The Welly. Not a thing to pick up on, from the greeting to the great beer and food. No waiting for either. Super efficient system and felt "covid safe". Would highly recommend on what we witnessed and will definitely be back soon.

Had a Sunday roast and drinks at the Wellington. Wasn’t great from the start as the food ticket had Been thrown away/ lost so had to reorder. Food took around 40 minutes to arrive there were only 3 tables full. Staff seemed inexperienced. Food was lovely although was tinfoil on one of the plates. A drink wasn’t available so had to wait for the manger to get back to get the refund who sorted it quickly. Nice food but wouldn’t go again. Review was declined by Preston reviews on Facebook 🤔

Ordered our Sunday roast from here was absolutely ridiculous only got two potatoes and one Yorkshire pudding will not worth £8

The worst Sunday lunch i have ever had. The place was empty and now I know why? The beef was inedible.. chewy.. Nice interior & the girls where fun..in my opinion they shouldn't be doing food at all..!

The place was empty this should of been a sign to me.. chewy beef- inedible in fact. Nothing green.. bisto gravy ..shocking! They even managed to get 1 of the 3 orders wrong. The girls where pleasant and I like the interior but avoid if you like good food

After quite a while, I went in here tonight with my partner, we were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming door man, who explained that we needed to sign in, and explained the social distancing rules of the pub. We were served by very friendly staff who poured perfect pints. I would definatly recommend this pub for a quit drink or a group gathering! 5*

Ordered a takeaway and it was supposed to turn up half hour ago. No joke I've called your number about 40-50 times from 3 different numbers! Just eat have been trying to contact you with no luck! Sometimes its showing your busy, but then you won't answer to me!! What's your issue?? Just want to know if your actually going to bother turning up, or if we can have a refund and order from somewhere that might arrive today

Absolutely filthy pub... We even had small fly/flea things crawling on the table. We managed about 1/4 of our pints before we left. I dread to think what sort of a state the place would be in when running at full capacity and can't imagine who on earth would want to eat food in there.

We had Sunday Carver Carver delivered and was piping hot and the meat was just so nice and tender , lived it , will use again

This is the 2nd time I have had a Sunday roast delivered. The food has been delivered hot, cooked to perfection, Delicious. During this time of social distancing/lockdown this has brought some normality back to my Sunday. THANK YOU

Ordered the Sunday lunch after rave reviews, wish I hadn't bothered! After half an hour late I rang, they said it was on the way, they then rang 30 mins after that to ask if we'd had the food delivered, that would be no!! It was on the way they promised, 30 mins after that after another phone call from me they promised it was on the way again! So after a hour and half late it turned up and I wish it hadn't. It looked like they'd lost the order then threw something together, everything was either overcooked or undercooked Not an enjoyable experience at all..... one I won't be repeating.

Went in, sat down, looked at the menu and it didnt have anything for veggies for my girlfriend.My gf decided to have a Sunday dinner with no meat, I go to the bar to order and must of been stood there for 15 minutes waiting to be served as one woman at the bar serving and she took a lifetime to serve someone, I walked out after waiting for 15minutes and she still wasn't served.There was three other workers there walking around in circles not serving, myself and this other woman were the only ones at the bar.Very disappointing, they say they're the no.1 for sunday dinners in preston, well it's hard to find out when the service is that dire.

A meeting was held here between local, legitimate business partners, to see what could be done with the encroaching, cheaper, rival legitimate business partners flooding in from eastern europe But you didn't just read that ... ok?

We had lunch here today, my husband had the all day breakfast and I had a prawn sandwich, the food was fresh and well presented, the staff were friendly and efficient, we shall be going again, 😃

Gone massively downhill. Very fatty gammon and the chilli resembled cat food . Half of the gammon was pure fat but when I mentioned it I was told it was a large piece of gammon . Yes it was .. until I removed the fat . As for the chilli .. not good
