Great staff. Great food. Great room. Well worth staying here.

Mini break trip had a meal which was really good

I think I have ever met a ruder manager in my life. We arrived at 8.31 to be told the kitchen, which should close at 9.00 had already closed half an hour ago. We were then encouraged to get a takeaway and bring it into the pub to eat. The chap behind the bar then went and checked with the manager and confirmed this was ok. A girl was also behind the bar bit she didn’t say anything We came back with a takeaway and bought a drink and started eating. A female manager challenged us and told us we had been told we couldn’t eat takeaways in the pub. We explained we had asked and I were told the lady behind the bar had told the manager we had been told no and defied her. I went to speak to the lady and she said we had already gone when she came back and hadn’t told us. The manager heard this and then told me not to speak to any of her staff again as I had been rude I can honestly say I didn’t raise my voice or swear or anything. It deeply upset us both. The manager also said we had been told on the phone that the restaurant shut at 8.30 but we hadn’t spoke to anyone on the phone We were asked to finish drinks and leave never to return

Great location but cold room, even after the heating turns on it never got properly warm. A bit expensive for the size and being out of season

Hi we stayed with our puppy Milo Monday to Friday, we were all made to feel very welcome by staff and locals alike. Everything about our stay from the food to the room was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful, Thank you. Kevin and Elinor.

Menu had changed from previous visits ( new management) I think 🤔, I opted for the burger which I tend to do if other options are limited,must say it was nice and enjoyable however my girlfriend went for the lasagne which in all honesty looked amazing cheese topping browned nicely that's where the good bit ended sadly!! She missed the meat content whilst she blinked for a second, so for £15 it was seriously poor vfm for the same dish could have bought a slab of cathedral city for a few quid and melted it under the grill. Used to frequently visit at one time probably try and find another venue now,couldn't fault the staff they were friendly and helpful. Sorry for a poor review but that lasagne was awful !!

We love it at the VH , attentive staff and there were free mince pies at the bar , great selection of drinks and a doubles bar special for spirits , we all had a laugh , with jokes and laughter ………..off work now until the 2nd January 2024

Not stayed but had a "festive lunch" the other day, what great value and the place looks really nice as well. We will be back.

Food is disgusting. I ordered a light bite fish and chips for lunch, the size portion was actually generous but the food was unedible. Chips were undercooked and soggy and the fish had barely any fish in it, was mostly batter and the batter was not right. Stodgy, rubbery and seemed off. Avoid this place save your money

Went two nights in a row with over ten people and was spot on. Bar service was quick. Prices sensible. Took the booking for the table on email and great comms. Food quick. And tasty! Thank you.

What an absolutely lovely place. I have been stopping here for many years when attending the Trac Mon Anglesey. The food was on point and so tasty and the staff are very friendly. The rooms have had a revamp it seems since I was last there and what a fantastic job they have done 👍 so modernised and welcoming.

Needed somewhere for a quick tea with my 2 boys 9 and 18, sat in carpark at Barbers and thought I wonder what the Valley Hotel is like? Website menu looks OK and not too pricey, food served from 12 noon, both big ticks on this occasion. Walked into empty Family Room, adjacent to a very quiet lounge - so not exactly rushed off their feet. Food ordered- kids sausage/chips/beans plus ice cream; haloumi burger, and special pie (steak and ale). And we waited ✋️ Food arrived- kids sausage had been dropped in a fryer and cremated( "it's too hard to cut") beans served in tiny paper cup microwaved to an inch of their lives: haloumi burger - the cheapest miserablest roll stuffed with cheese, side salad and chips - no garnish in/on burger - these things typically come with something- Mr 18 shovelled his side salad into the burger bun which promptly dissolved: my pie, possibly the most unappealing of them all, tough dry beef ( resembled Pedigree chum) dumped in a metal bowl with a puff pastry lid balanced on top, peas like bullets in a little paper cup - there were 28 of them 2 teaspoons (I'm sad enough to count). We did get a check back, and sad to say politely said "fine" as I really didn't know where to start. Then we sat with our unfinished plates waiting to be cleared and a child's ice cream delivered, and we sat..... eventually Mr 9 went and politely asked for it, and we sat..... no one cleared..... and it arrived and we left! £45 for that meal plus 2 cokes and a cup of tea. So sad 😔 we're local but won't be back

Great hotel loverly staff cannot fault them cleaning staff are great hard working lot they keep the hotel spotless nothing is too much for both staff and cleaning staff very helpful very polite so cheerful it's loverly to see such happy staff thankyou for such a great stay oh by the way the breakfast is delicious continual breakfast and a well selection of a fry up menu for lunch and tea is well varied

A busy hotel/pub that we visited on a Wednesday evening for birthday meal. Nice welcome but a limited menu available as this was being reviewed at the time of our visit. We both had sirloin steak which was really nice and good value. It was a large piece of meat that neither of us could finish, but had a doggy bag to take home. THE letdown, were the so called ‘rustic chips’ These did not resemble chips or indeed taste like chips. They were hard and really inedible I’m sorry to say. We told our waitress and she said they were new to the menu. It spoilt the meal for us sadly as everything else was lovely

We came here for dinner with our 2 dogs, after a very long drive from the South. Having booked a table.online from ages ago, we arrived and were shown to our table. The place appeared big and spacious, and we had ample space around our table for our dogs. We had king prawns, spicy chicken wings and chicken goujons for starters, which was great! For mains, my husband had the burger while I had a lite scampi, and they were average. Drinks were Guinness and I wanted a glass of rose wine, which was £7.75, and the waiter said it was cheaper to get a whole bottle for £15.50, so I did! Alas, it wasn't a good rose wine. Service was quick, starters were really good and tasty, and they were dog friendly eith enough space for the dogs, so that suited our needs for our first night in Anglesey.

Returned for a drink while visiting the Island. It was nice to be back staff as usual very nice look forward to going again.

I was delighted to see they do gluten free fish and chips so ordered these. The staff went out of their way to make sure if was gluten and dairy free. My partner had Malaysian curry that was also excellent as well, he also said The Valley beer was good. They even brought our dog a bowl of water which was kind. All the meals coming out of the kitchen looked good so we will be going back again this week.

Excellent service, reasonable prices fantastic food. Been coming to the valley for a number of years now, not one for writing reviews as they don’t always have a positive impact on businesses. Like reading reviews left by other customers, people take to there keyboards to quickly I can’t fault this place lovely staff, clean bar lounge and fantastic garden. Just a few words for thanks for the warm welcome myself and friends got at your bar yesterday. We were on our way to the boat and had half an hour to spare, seen your beautiful wee bar and decided we would stop and have a wee drink. Well what can I say, from the minute we walked in we were treated horribly the manners from your bar staff were unbelievable, to be told to ‘buy whatever drinks we wanted and take them outside because we weren’t running in and out’ for the cheek and ignorance to one girl and then to close the side door so we couldn’t enter in that way again! Absolutely shocking and disgusting behaviour…. I can safely say you would NOT receive that sort of behaviour from us Irish. I will be reporting this further make no mistake about that, good day!

Lovely place. Clean, welcoming. The staff were extremely friendly very hospitable. We sat in the garden for drinks/chips.Best pint we have had on the island and the chips were seriously the best I’ve ever had….that’s a lot of chips.

Wow I went there for a birthday lunch and the food was lovely and so much of it. It was worth the money because it was a lot of it and we said to the chef that it was very nice and we told him well done he said he has only been there for 2 months and we said welk dne to him because the food was a lot better then when we where there last

We have recently stayed over the May Bank holiday to attended a family Wedding being held in the Valley Hotel, the staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful even thought it was extremely busy, they managed the smooth running of the wedding, coping well with all difficulties a wedding can occur with everyone staying in the hotel. As we stayed for 3 nights over the weekend we were able to enjoy the food in the bar and the wedding reception, despite the bar being full on the Sunday evening due to other large events they managed to find us a table for our evening meal. Both the evening meals and breakfasts were tasty, well presented with large portions and we assumed locally product bacon and sausages. The bedrooms were small but very clean and well maintained, we had a low ceiling beam across our room (room 15) so be careful if you are tall. We would recommend the Valley Hotel to all our friend and family if they are staying on Anglesey.

so much food wrong very bad place waiters/waitresses are very nice chilled people but when food was incorrect waiters were apologising and manager refused to come out and when someone did come out he lied and told us to leave. Never again.

We had nice food here this evening, the staff were all helpful and had amazing customer service except one, the male manager.. he was so rude and was not helpful at all, everything seemed to much of a hassle to him and all of us were put off by this. Such a shame.

We rang and booked a table for 7pm. Food and drinks were ordered from the bar.. I ordered the Welsh burger, sadly the burgers were over cooked. There was a tiny bowl of coleslaw and 2 onion rings. The rustic fries were charged extra without asking…. However they were the best thing on the plate! My OH chose the Malaysian Chicken curry which was just plain chicken with poured over curry sauce. A bit underwhelming… Overall, not amazing food for £45.25. We will not recommend or return…

The Valley Hotel in Wales is a quant hotel that packs more hospitality than we have seen so far. Just one train stop from the ferry port of Holyhead. Food excellent, sleep accommodations were wonderful. Angela was very helpful!

This old village pub/hotel has been improved and modernised. Comfortable ensuite rooms with TV and WiFi. A large bar and restaurant with a good 'Full Welsh' breakfast. The staff are pleasant and helpful and there's a large car park, and it's very good value. Very convenient position with Fuel, Groceries, Post Office, Pharmacy, TakeAway food, Bus stops and railway station - All within a 5 minute walk, and sandy beaches and Holyhead ferry port 10 minutes away by car.

Ample parking at the side of the hotel. It looks like it has been refurbished since our last visit, looks lovely and modern with plenty of comfortable seating. Friendly staff serving the food and drinks, we both had the BLT which came as a toasted bloomer with a nice side salad and tortilla chips, very tasty indeed! Can definitely recommend.

Visited yesterday with my Mum whilst out visiting family. The Valley was beautifully decorated and staff were friendly and attentive. We both ordered Pate for starters then I had the Chicken Stroganoff whilst Mum had Scampi and Chips. Food was very tasty and plentiful. I wouldn't hesitate visiting again when I'm in the area. We came here for Sunday lunch hadn’t been for a long time so thought we would give it a go WISH we hadn’t the only thing that was ok I thought was meat. The kids Yorkshire puddings where soggy I would of been embarrassed to serve And all the veg looked ok BUT butter had been put all over it. I was surprised because lots of people like my self don’t eat dairy because of allergy.

Came here today for a carvery was not very impressed the veg was rock hard the beef was so tough couldn't chew it my partner had burger and chips paid extra for cheese on the burger which was non existent the chips were so greasy bit into one grease just poured out of it onion rings with hardly any batter on them and also very greasy was not worth the money at all

We stayed Saturday 5th January room was very clean and was a good size bathroom was very clean with soft towels and shampoo condition and shower cream went down to eat and the meal was lovely staff made us feel very welcome

Stayed for two nights. Both nights there was a strange noise making it difficult to sleep - Sometimes pulsating, sometimes humming but very prominent noise and annoying.

Helpful and friendly staff here. The carvery is always lovely and the meat is always cooked well. Fresh veg and good atmosphere here.
