Great little pub with excellent food and service! Stopped in for dinner and the food was really tasty and served quickly! For pub grub this is definitely above the normal standard which was a really nice surprise. We had a long day and were tired so weren't really looking forward to eating out but they have plenty of seating over a few rooms so it was nice and quiet and just what we needed for a great price. Highly recommended 👍

We visited on Easter Saturday and was pleasantly surprised that we were able to get a table (granted it was 230pm, so we probably missed the lunchtime rush) The lunch menu was extensive and proportions were really big. Food was very tasty and I can highly recommend the pub for eating and even if you just want a pint. There was a little miscommunication at the bar, and my partners order was incorrectly taken, however, they promptly swapped it for the correct order no questions asked and we did not have to wait too long either. I had the cod burger, as you can see from the photo it was not small!

Just typed in best places to eat and up came the George & Dragon. Must say I’ve just had the best pub lunch for a long time- Chicken & Bacon Italian salad which was delicious. A good sign is people had reserved tables . Great Service, we will be returning

Just popped in as we were passing after a visit to the gaol. Was greeted by a lovely friendly young lady behind the bar who took us to the table. We ordered the food which came quickly, hot, tasty and plentiful. We were asked if the food was ok and if we needed anything else. Kids menu choices are good and plenty to choose from. Really pleased we chose this place and would recommend it to others. All other staff are friendly and accommodating and thanked us for coming.

Great food. The menu is quite small but offers a good range of meals. The building itself it's steeped in history. Great choice of ales. Fantastic friendly service. Child friendly. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely dinner here after a very long day of walking, and it was such a great place to get good food and drinks.

A great find, we stopped here for lunch and had a brilliant vegetarian slap up meal. The portion sizes are crazy value for money and the salad that came on the side of our meals was legitimately banging for a pub side salad. I couldn’t finish the food there was so much of it, a nice change in this day and age. Good beers on tap too!

What can I say was treated here for Mothers day lunch and how fantastic it was👌👌efficient service and friendly staff but the tastiest Sunday Lunch I've had in a long while👌👌well done 10/10 will be definitely be coming back

Our Sunday lunch was over cooked in fact burnt in the case of the cauliflower cheese and parsnips. Our friends beef was tough and full of gristle. We would not recommend this Pub for a meal but the beer was good

Well wr have been before ,but I think it's under new management, But just as good I had the Fish and chips £14.95 but massive fish and loads of chunky chips ,mushy peas and side salad ,My wife had chicken tikka massala half n half which was great to ,I had 2 pints of Dragons breath and my wife had ,Diet coke pint ,the young waiter was very nice asking uf everything was OK, which it was ,I have 1 gripe that the head man at bar could be a bit more friendly, when complimenting the food and pub he seemed very abrupt ,and as i spoke to him complimenting the food and service ,he turned his back on me as if it seemed to much trouble to have a quick chat , Otherwise food was great and so were the young lads behind bar . Total bill £42

The medieval style pub has lists history, it makes you feel cozy, warm,relaxed, the food are tasty, the potion of the food are huge, the biggest I have ever seen in UK,I don’t think one people can finish.

The George & Dragon is a fab cosy traditional pub that serves great food and a lovely pint of beer! We have always been made welcome and never been disappointed with the food. We do book as it does get busy!

Pleasant evening while watching the rugby but it was unfortunate that a watched an elderly woman being told to leave because she had a small dog .

I have been coming to Beaumaris for over 30 years and have never been in this Pub. Yesterday I went twice in one day it was so lovely. Gorgeous wine with gorgeous food and very reasonably priced. What a find.. although 30 years late!!!

Home to the grumpiest bartender of all time 😅 crack a smile out of them and you deserve a free pint. I had a bottom of the barrel beer and they didn’t even show an ounce of sympathy after I’d had a sip of the vinegar and was struggling choking on my own vomit. Having said that, it’s a cosy pub and the vegan/plant-based offerings are plenty - bravo!

An excellent experience. My partner and I popped in after exploring the local town, there was a great choice of drinks, and a lovely atmosphere inside. Food looked delicious as it was presented beautifully, and tasted even better. I had the George & Dragon burger, and it was the best burger I have ever had. Not only was the food amazing but so we're the staff, very friendly and welcoming, at the end of the meal I forgot my phone, and they were kind enough to chase me down to ensure it was returned. I would definitely recommend.

Good beer, really quality food with traditional ingredients and very well cooked and presented. Portions really generous and well appreciated. Staff very courteous and helpful, I wish this pub was in our village. Well done to all concerned. Will certainly visit on our next visit.

Busy pub and restaurant. Not enough 0% choice of beer/ wines. Good food, but could do with better quality sausages.

Went for a drink on a Sunday night. Opening hours were unclear, although Google said 11pm. They called last orders about 8pm, they were cleaning around us, not the most welcoming, said they were being paid until 9pm. Odd but would return maybe on a busier Saturday to try again. No Guinness, had to try their version which was ok.

The only thing disappointing is that I couldn't finish it, very generous portions 😍 will definitely be going again while we're on holiday. We were in Beaumaris for a week and went in most nights for a meal and their selection of real ales. We actually got staff a thank you card as they were so friendly and helpful. The food is excellent we sampled fine dining worth lamb steaks to out of this world burgers all using amazing local quality ingredients. We booked most evenings as it can get busy,if your looking for a cosy pub with a good vibe look no further than the G&D 👍👍

Dropped in this cosy period classic pub for a spot of lunch and came away very happy we did. There are plenty of options in Beaumaris, but I would recommend the George & Dragon to you all. First of all you have super welcoming and friendly bar staff. The decor is vintage and cosy. Good option of food on the menu and also a specials board. Prices are reasonable for a tourist town. I had to try the fish & chips as it's my go-to to test the quality of a restaurant. I certainly was not disappointed. A full plate, nice size fish with a lovely light crunchy batter. Plenty of chips and some of the best mushy peas I've had in a very long time. My better half doesn't usually go for a burger, but thoroughly enjoyed hers here. Would like to thank all staff for making our visit a most pleasant and fulfilling experience. Many thanks indeed 😉👍

Had an extremely pleasant visit to this attractive pub just off the High Street. The beer was excellent and the freshly prepared food was amazing. Don't miss the home made pork pie - delicious. The lady behind the bar couldn't have been more helpful - even finding me a charger to reinvigorate the depleted battery in my phone. A delightful way to spend an hour or so on a glorious October day.

My fish and chips were super bland, the batter way too thick, the chips dry and unseasoned and so were the peas. The salad tasted weirdly of cheap BBQ sauce. The waitress didn't respond when I told her that I was disappointed with the meal and just walked away.

Visited here when on a coach trip to Anglesey. Went in just after 12.00 and there was only a couple of tables that weren't reserved so was lucky to get a table and the other couple soon got snapped up. Lots of customers were turned away due to the rest of the tables being reserved. On checking the reservation cards on the tables some of them were reserved from 3.00pm. I thought pubs are struggling for business so why have tables reserved empty for 3 hours when they could be producing much needed revenue for the pub ?

The best prepared burger and value I have ever had. Well, it's worth a visit after walking around the castle.

Incredibly disappointing to find a pub with history but poor service and poor food. Stepped inside after enduring a downpour, was in the process of wiping my glasses in the doorway so I could see when the barmaid snapped "yes?" and began shifting around impatiently with a face like thunder. That ought to have been my cue to leave but, as the place was full with diners I thought I'd try the food. Big mistake. Whilst the portions were ample, this was quantity not quality. Microwave jobs with a very peculiar sickly sweet taste to everything and rock hard inedible veg. Waitress was complaining plates were heavy and hot as she served us like it's our fault to expect a warm meal? Pint was warm and flat too. Had to go to Jollys Cafe on the high street just to get the taste of it all from my mouth. I appreciate I'm in the minority as the place was full of people eating, so it must score with plenty, but it's definitely not one I'll be returning to.

Came here because the pub we'd intended to go to was full, however so glad we did because service & food was excellent. We shared a couple of starters, the garlic mushrooms, chicken tenders & cheesy chips, all of it was very tasty. My husband also enjoyed his Dragons Breath beer, we'll be back, thank you.

Walked in on Sunday afternoon as we couldn’t find how to reserve a table online. I’m glad we didn’t as one of the waitresses was incredibly unhelpful and dismissive when they said they were full. Despite there being a number of tables empty. Glad we went to the The Bull round the corner. Much better service and deserves the business.

We visited on a Tuesday afternoon, there was a limited menu as I think they were waiting for a delivery. However the food we had was brilliant, chicken burger & fish & chips. Generous portions & really tasty. Lovely staff too

Beaumaris is a lovely place to visit. We were up for having a late lunch and a pint after a wander in the Sun. The menu is pretty uninspiring, there were no specials and all the starters were off, possibly some of the puddings. I only wanted the things that were on the starters so I didn't bother, another one of the part just had chips because everything else was unappealing. The burger arrived and it looked great, but tall, lots of stuff added in, the hand pressed patties were really greasy and the person who had it left half of it, they had jalapenos which were really hot and caught the person by surprise! The Mac N Cheese was no better than one you get in the co-op just with lots of cheese on the top that made it dry. It wasn't super cheap but after having seen the food I am glad I didn't eat. Its a shame as its a nice little pub and could be great.

Visiting from Detroit and loved the place. Very friendly staff who helped us try a local gin drink. Mussels special was excellent and portions were generous. It came with a nice salad and chips. Kids meals were also good. Cool atmosphere inside and definitely above a tourist trap.

I've just had the sirloin and I have to say one of the very very best steaks I've had. But more importantly it wasn't the only star on the plate. The large flat mushroom was perfectly cooked and tasty and the red onion WOW so this was a perfect plate of food. Hats off to the chef and kitchen and foh staff . This pub also has 5 cask pumps on. All from Robinson's. The seasonal citra is outstanding.

We visited on Sunday for lunch. Booking was via the phone, they don’t have online booking. Lunch was only being served until 4pm so there was no option for a later meal. There were six of us, and we had roast chicken, roast beef and one of our party had the burger of the day - which was a chicken burger. The servings were absolutely massive, half chickens and several thick slices of roast beef cooked a perfect medium well. There were also dishes of cauliflower cheese and red cabbage, in addition to the carrots, broccoli and roast parsnips on the plate. It was very tasty, and we could not finish it so we did have a doggy bag to take home. The only thing that I think would have improved it is if you had an extra jug of gravy on the table as our teenager likes to have plenty of gravy and felt that there was not enough.

Visiting Beaumaris we found this pub for lunch. We were made to feel welcome, staff were friendly and the service was very quick. You could tell it was freshly cooked, and it was hot. We actually couldn't finish the chips but made sure we ate all the fish which was delicious. We sat alongside someone who had the Sunday roast and that looked lovely too.

We had a lovely lunch at the George and Dragon yesterday. Could not fault it. Delicious Kofta Kebab with couscous, roasted vegetables, hummus and tzatziki etc. My husband had a gorgeous steak with chips and salad. Lovely location and friendly staff .

We stumbled across this lovely pub by accident and went in for an early evening meal with our eight-year-old son. The service was really good and the range of soft drinks impressive but we have to say the food was amazing. Such a lovely experience. Thank you.

The chef at the George & Dragon really knows his stuff! I had some of the most beautifully cooked fish and chips, with delicious fresh haddock in a crisp light batter served with an excellent home made tartar sauce and a salad with a dressing which had flavours of wild garlic and star anise (amongst others). My partner had the Welsh buttermilk chicken burger, again excellently prepared with moist tender chicken, lightly coated in a crisp crumb, beautiful home made onion rings and chilli mayo. We were both totally taken aback by the quality of the food and can most definitely highly recommend eating here!

After reading on the internet that the pub was dog friendly we travelled 10 miles for a meal only to be told the owner couldn't be bothered to alter the information on the net and was not now dog friendly. We went to the Liverpool Arms and had great meal ( so thank you very much ) that's? £50+ you never got 😅

Never been before but actually very nice, family of 4, had gammon, huge with big side salad, chips, egg, beautiful, homemade chilli, very nice, prawn sandwich and a mature cheddar sandwich very well presented, good value for money too. Would we return……….? 100% yes
