Don't be put off by the car park looking full. People park there for multiple reasons. Persevere. It is run by a lovely couple. A somewhat limited range of food, but each item is quite different. Great coffee. Well worth factoring in for a break if you are walking the Anglesey Coastal Path. It is not actually on it, but worth the detour.

Have been visiting for the last 4-5 years each time we are on the island - great stop off for local bread (its gorgeous), eggs, cakes etc. The welsh cakes and Bara Brith are gorgeous. There is no restaurant anymore, which is a shame as we had some lovely meals there in the past, but the shop has been extended with more local products. Will be back on our next island visit, highly recommended local business.

Hooton’s Pick Your Own fruit and veg picking near the cafe is amazing and great value. Huge range of fruit and veg available. And a bonus has a high standard barista in a horse box serving great coffee’s. £2 for one of the best flat whites.

We used to visit here for produce (meat and vegetables) when holidaying on the island as well as coffee (really helpful staff make my wife’s as disgustingly weak as she likes it, and mine as gloriously strong as I like it) and generous slices of delicious cake. However since moving here 8 months ago have realised the quality of produce and service more fully. The beef and duck we ordered for Christmas were simply stunning, the steaks fantastic, the free range chicken delicious, the pork and lamb gorgeous, sausages to die for. Real quality meat and salad and vegetables equally so. Since covid19 the service despite the problems second to none, the staff cannot help you enough and will try and get whatever you need. Veg and meat of absolute top quality. Service even better. Hortons you are a credit to farming and butchery.

As a HGV Tramper this stopover with its huge lorry park is a must when in Scotland. Great parking and wash-rooms where you can shower, and inside all night Pole dancing and live music. The home made food is plentiful and especially the all-day breakfast and the mixed grill. Non-stop all you can drink coffee and all in for £3 a time. Super value when you are away from home for so long.

A hidden gem! We came here after visiting Plas Newydd on a busy Monday lunch time! Food was served super quick and was all well cooked and delicious! The soup and baguette was a great sized portion and my husband finished every bit of his welsh breakfast. Would also recommend the adjacent shop and especially their jam and apple juice too. The toilets could do with a refurb as they were a bit grotty tho

We went here last year and loved it, I wish I could say the same for this years visit. Honestly wish we hadn't bothered. On arrival we were rushed into getting seated and ordering (as we are disabled we feel being rushed is unacceptable). We ordered two burgers (beef, pork and apple) and a pull pork sandwich together with garlic bread and potato wedges. Only one of the burgers was supposed to have cheese but they brought out both with cheese on, when we pointed out this was not what we ordered the server just stared at us as if she did not understand what we said so I had to explain I could not eat the cheese, it was returned with the cheese having just obviously scrapped off. The bread was not as fresh as we expected and the pork and apple burger was just bland with hardly any taste of apple. The meals were supposed to come with coleslaw, we declined this with two of them but wanted it with the third, however they did not serve any at all. Certainly would not waste our money there again.

Hootons is perfect both for buying food fresh from the farm, stocking up on their frozen meals which are also available on the cafe menu, and the cafe itself. Here is one of the five top breakfasts I would always choose. The food tastes as good as it looks, there's a generous helping, and you're made to feel welcome by the staff. Although the breakfast almost always tempts me, there's plenty more to try. Excellent!

Had a lovely lunch here a few days ago. I had the ploughmans and my partner had the rump steak. He said it was the best he's ever had. The ploughmans was fab, really fresh. We sat outside with our dog. It is a shame that there is no dog area in the inside cafe so that we can come here on rainy days too - something to think about!

So today myself and my sister took our children to the pyo strawberry part which was great can’t fault that part. Then we decided to go get the kids some sandwiches or something of that sort from the cafe which is actually a mile down the road from the actual pyo area. On arrival it seems very quiet only a couple of tables in. We quickly found a table sat down had a look at the menu, the high chair was dirty the tables were sticky the menu was sticky, scanning through the menu I realised they didn’t cater for children, no problem we can just give them some chips and ask for a small sandwich. So I go to order the food was met by a miserable unhelpful slow member of staff at the till, I ordered a cheese and ham panini a garlic bread for my daughter, and because they didn’t serve chips I ordered potato wedges, my sister ordered soup garlic bread potato wedges and asked for a small plain ham sandwhich for her little boy as he is a fussy eater. We sit down to wait for the food to arrive and no joke it took over half an hour to come, with 3 restless hungry kids nightmare I wouldn’t mind if it was actual big meals in a restaurant that was busy, but it was just light bites in a cafe built in a flipping greenhouse???. Anyway the cheese and ham panini was fine no problem good portion of salad etc the garlic bread was a garlic baguette I expected something different as on the menu it said homemade and this to me just looked like an Asda specials baguette plonked on a plate and didn’t taste particularly special, potato wedges had about 5 in a plate and basically were just potatoes cut in to shapes and burnt so you may aswel call them burnt toast potatoes they weren’t very nice at all. The soup was fine, my nephews ham sandwich arrived on brown bread with a little side of spicy crisps no. Way would he eat that firstly they should of given a choice brown or white bread but no such luck here. And he immediately said I’m not eating that and he didn’t we didn’t want to complain because we don’t like to upset people, my little girl started eating the ham sandwich anyway. Amidst of this aggravation and hassle the kids were now tired fed up and they had noticed lots of wasps and flies hanging round our food, so they were getting distracted by them we were shooting them away but no good too many of them. So we mentioned it to a youngish looking girl who put something sweet on another table to distract the wasps etc but was no use these wasps had been all the food and all the kids stuff the ham sandwich was swarming in wasps actually congregating inside it disgusting. We were just going to leave and not say anything, but my sister said no we have paid nearly £30 for this which I agreed so my sister approached a older lady with glasses and grey hair, and told her nicely about all the wasps and flies infesting in the food and my sister wasn’t confrontational in the slightest she was merely just informing them, and the rude woman was like ye what do you want me to do about? It’s summer there is wasps everywhere everyone has to deal with it? So at that point because of the ladies bad attitude my sister got a bit angry and told her she wanted money back for the kids stuff as it had gone to waste. To which this lady said she wasn’t going to offer a refund of the kids stuff as it wasn’t her problem as there is wasps everywhere yes there is wasps everywhere but when u have about 7 sitting inside the kids sandwich and all over the garlic bread that’s not normal!!! So I tried to diffuse the situation and get a resolution so we could leave I told her we were just concerned as the kids couldn’t eat it to which she replied in a very rude manner that she would make another ham sandwich to take away fine whatever we just want to leave. That ham sandwich was still put on brown bread which was a again a complete and utter waste of team. It probably got fed to the seagulls when my sister got home so at least they got a good meal 👍 as for us humans we will never return there I’d rather of taken kids to McDonald’s at least the young staff are less rude!!! I suggest this place invests in some serious customer service training and for the staff which is all of them to smile and stop walking around looking like they died!!!

Three friends meeting up for lunch. So when told it may take a while because they are busy this didn’t worry us. Forty five minutes later I went to ask how they were doing. We think they had lost our order but told it was minutes away. When it came only two meals arrived when asked about the third we were told it wasn’t ordered. The member of staff who’s first language is not English told us we hadn’t ordered it and she hadn’t made any mistake. We had not been charged when checking the bill. No apology and my friend upset but he was heard ordering she hadn’t written it down. What happened to common curtesy towards the customer? We won’t go back.

Do not take any notice of their website; it is grossly out of date. There is no BBQ hut, nor any PYO strawberries both were advertised on their site to be open. When i asked the lady behind the counter where the PYO area was she turned her back on me and didn't answer, so i asked about the BBQ, her response ' closed'. Rude and unhelpful. We had had a long journey to the island and had decided to call into Hootons for a meal prior to our check-in as there was no BBQ and their selection of cafe food looked 'sad' and old we shopped in the store instead for something to take away. Very very expensive for nothing special. We bought some lovely looking strawberries, but when you bit into them, they tasted of stale mouldy water. The pork chops were cut nice and thick with a good level of fat, when cooked were dry and tasteless. The potatoes were ok but nothing special to warrant the price and didn't last past two days before turning soft.

We ordered 2 coffee's and 2 pieces of cheesecake. After waiting 5 minutes to be served with little acknowledgement I was rudely corrected that the cheesecake I'd ordered was actually 'a flan' even though it consisted of a ginger nut biscuit base and cream cheese topping! On sitting at a seemingly empty table I discovered this to be covered in brown sauce with no attempt made by the staff to clean it. My black Americano was served in a white but very stained mug and the latte failed miserably to taste of coffee needless to say the entire Cup was left on the table. While the cheesecake was pleasant lots of nice lemon citrus flavouring and a ginger biscuit base to break through the cream cheese on the last mouthful I discovered a very large black hair. My wife and I have visited many places on a visit to Anglesey we will not be returning to this one.

Heard good things about this place but was disappointed after our visit. Shop was quite expensive and not much veg. Cafe looked good so gave it ago. I had the full Welsh breakfast but don't like black pudding or tomatoes so asked for them to be left off, you get 1 egg so asked if I could have another egg instead. The lady said ok but only 1 came, I did over hear a another guy working there giving her a talking too about it which I didn't like his tone. I nearly said something but stayed out of it as it's only an egg, I know some places are happy to substitute items and some places don't. But for an £8 breakfast would of thought it would be no big deal to swap black pudding and a tomato for an egg, but not a big deal. I was more annoyed with how this bloke was speaking to his lady worker, he was then having a go at her for stacking the cakes wrong in the glass cabinet. I don't know if she was new there and learning but it's no way to speak to people, I would of told him to not talk down to me like that if it was me. Anyway the breakfast wasn't that good anyway to be honest it was just ok. Had nicer in Holland arms garden centre for £2 cheaper.

Looked forward to to visit here and a browse around the shop. Arrived at about 12.45 and found a table, even though it was busy. Went up to order and were told it would be a half hour wait. No problem, the heavens had opened outside anyway so we’d have a drink whilst waiting. 1.30 came and went, lots of people looking at their watches wondering where orders were. Another table left asking for a refund having waited over an hour, the young boy with them was crying. It took a good 10 minutes before they were refunded. Food arrived at 5 past 2! The table next to us with simple order of soup and a sandwich had also waited over an hour. A long wait can be forgiven if staff make an effort to check in with customers and apologise, but no such efforts were made. Food was ok but there is no justification for a salad, cheese sandwiches and a breakfast to take so long. No time for a browse in the shop. Should have heeded the half hour warning and left straight away. If they say there’s a wait, leave!

There was an issue with not having some items with the breakfast as it was too complicated, although they said it would be OK this once as it was very quiet. It took about 40mins to arrive and the sausage was a little underdone, the egg was way overdone and rubbery and it came with one slice of toast, which for the price felt a bit much. We had a lovely time picking strawberries as a family. We ate a few samples and sheltered in the poly tunnel while it briefly showered. Very family friendly and fun!

You could be forgiven for thinking that the ramshackle appearance of this place when you pull up in the car park is part of its rustic charm or that it adds to its authentic farm feel. However, if you order food from the cafe you'll be left feeling disappointed. We ordered the 'All Day Breakfast', which we thought would be pretty good considering they farm the meat on site. However, it was substandard - the bacon was so full of fat, that when the rind was cut away there was hardly any bacon left. The accompanying toast with the breakfast meal was a stodgy cheap bread, not the 'homemade' variety on sale in the shop. The tomatoes and beans were undercooked, the fried egg greasy and the black pudding tasteless. We had also ordered a jacket potato for the vegetarian in our family, which you'd think would have been a safe option - unfortunately not. The potato itself was ok, although so small it was more of a child's portion. The cheese was synthetic tasting and the salad leaves dry.

We came upon this Café nearing the end of our holiday which was a shame as we would probably have had a lunch here - we did stop for tea and a sandwich which was lovely, presented well by friendly staff. Just wish we had found it sooner,

Great deli with local produce and able to buy some barra brith to take home from holiday. 5 of us also had lunch at the cafe. Good food and freshly cooked. Maybe nothing exceptional but, local and soup clearly hand made not out of a can! Very convenient location.

I was brought to the cafe by a friend who raved about all the homegrown food. I must say that even though I was expecting the food to good, I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were really friendly, the food when arrived was out of this world, and strangle pleasing knowing that it's all home grown and home made. The coffee was lovely and the large cookie I took away was so tasty and I could stop eating it u.til it was all gone. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend popping in if only for a coffee and a perusal of the farm shop.

For the 4th or 5th time in the last few years we dropped in for morning drinks prior to our walk. Our full coach of 55 people was met with smiles and superb service - easy parking for coaches and highly recommended. Booking is needed for a large group and I would suggest going early in the morning as they get busy later on. Great to hear a third shop is opening in nearby LlanfairPG shortly. Thanks to Mrs Hooton and all the staff for looking after us so well.

Went to Hootons today en route to the Lleyn peninsula, as it had been recommended by my partner. Especially went out of my way to sample Hootons delights, came away feeling deflated and cheated. I had a slice of lemon meringue pie priced £3.99, stated as homemade but I found it tasted no different to one of Tescos frozen ones. Will not be visiting again there are better places to eat in North Wales i.e. Try Nia's cafe at Wern Farm Nefyn for quality homemade cakes etc at roughly half the price

We saw the sign for all day breakfasts and decided we would try here. We are quite local. We ordered the Welsh breakfast and asked for one of them without certain items and the other to have everything on. Drinks are not included in the £6.79 price tag which is not good. When it arrives both breakfasts had items not on instead of only one. The toast was thin cheap bread for the price you would expect a nice thick toasty type loaf. Was very disappointed as we have had much nicer breakfasts elsewhere for less money and much more with drinks included. Waste of money. Overpriced and they can't even get an order right.

Staying on Angelsey for the weekend we decided to call in here for breakfast on the Saturday morning. I had the Welsh breakfast which was fairly basic and nothing to single it out as being Welsh other than where I was eating it, the sausages were nice but the bacon, hmmm let's just say I prefer a bit of bacon with my fat. The missus had poached eggs on toast which seems like a wise choice as she reckons the eggs were really good quality and very obviously free range. Was ok for a one off visit but doubt we'll be eating there again. Incidentally it was a bit disconcerting when I went up to order and had to spell out 'poached' letter by letter to the girl on the counter !

Having dined here several times in the past we were looking forward to Sunday lunch. Got to say standards have slipped. Our meals were lukewarm Yorkshire pudd stone cold.Got to say we feel this was down to lack of staff. It took ages to order and to pay. I felt sorry for the staff who worked hard.Dissapointing

We often visit Anglesey we try to always make a detour here. The meat is excellent. My complaint is that the local veg. is so scarce. To be fair it is clearly marked not local produce, well if it is not local I may as well go to a supermarket. All the local produce veg. bins were empty. It was a Friday so I did expect something that we could buy and enjoy. The young man on the checkout looked fedup. We have not tried the cafe so cannot comment on that.

Picked up home reared Welsh Black Beef ribeye steaks. Cooked them medium rare and they were fabulous. Great value and thick enough to sear the outside but moist in the middle. Elephant garlic also purchased, great taste and quality. The meat display is something to see and I wish I had bought more. The black puddings were nice and thick and are on my list for the next visit. Sorry, only had time for coffee which was excellent. Lots of people including families enjoying the food.

We support this shop weekly because it local - more expensive but thanks ok - but today when we Spent £17.40 on veg and our card did not seem to work I asked the guy to try again he said " it's failed try another card" I explained my card was fine so he tried to undermine me and said your card has failed I said try again and he said I will use card card to show you it's failed . Surprise his card did not work!!! So he he turned the machine of and on again and it worked. YEH - such appalling customer service no sorry no nothing what a shame - Hootons suggest staff trying or even family training would be helpful.

After having tried eating here in the summer we decided to give it another chance in a less busy month. We went on a Saturday in January it was quite busy about half full. Again there were free tables still with uncleared crockery . Went to order soup as advertised on board leading into cafe to be told that wasn't the right soup available it hadn't been changed on the board. Tried again ordered toasted teacake, bacon pannini and tea. Person serving was pleasant and polite and apologized for mix up with soup. Sat down to wait for drinks and food, noticed as last time several other customers complaining about the long delay in receiving their orders. Our drinks came after a while the waitress apologizing for the delay. Ten minutes later teacake arrived but no pannini. After a further ten minutes the pannini arrived. I had specifically requested that the bacon be well done and crispy unfortunately this was not achieved it was chewy, lightly cooked and fatty. I could not eat it but as we had been there a long time did not want to wait even longer for a replacement. I had already seen another customer return her jacket potato uneaten as it was hard. It is worrying that basic dishes are not up to scratch and they promote using the finest ingredients from the farm shop yet the meals we have had have all been disappointing and would not entice us to actually buy anything from there. We will not be visiting again.

Firstly the shop is great value for money and the food is superb. You must try the sausages- all of the types are just stunning. I bought a frozen meat Madras for a rushed dinner and it was superb - jus a few minutes reheating and ready. Wow superb flavours and nice and spicy just as I like it.On our last day we had to be out of our cottage for 10 so we went for breakfast at Hootons. All freshly cooled and just stunning and incredible value for money. The folk who work there are lovely and really want t please. So will I visit Anglesey again...beautiful scenery. really ice people and Hootins....you bet!!!!

Visited with the family after taking the family to the sea zoo, we ordered promptly and we were told food would probably be around 25 minutes which wasn't a problem.Sat and had drinks and watched as others who had arrived after us got their food whilst we still waited, I asked if ours would be much longer and I was told we were the next table, a further 15 minutes passed and when I asked again we were told it would be another 10 minutes. Our 25 minute wait had become 1 hour so we asked for a refund and left, was a shame as food coming out smelt lovely. It felt as though our order had been forgotten, sometimes honesty is the bests policy.

Stopped for a bacon and egg bap which was superb. Good service and really tasty food. All in all very good but the cappuccino was a bit watery- think they need to use more coffee grains when they make it.Will definitely return. Don't be put off by the shack style building- the food is well worth it.

Doesn't look much from the car park. Go through the arch to the beer garden, it's like the wardrobe to Narnia. Open fronted glamping pod, table in a boat, an unbelievable Hobbit house, fully furnished, with books in a bookcase. Go down the steps to the garden terrace overlooking the bay. Comfy and sheltered seating, with stunning views. Is dog friendly too. The beer is no worse a price than tourist places. And is a decent pint. Ignore the naysayers. It's a very pleasant place for relaxing with a drink. We will be returning.

As guests at the hotel, we visited on our last night with no problems being seated without a booking. We both had starters and mains (steaks) and all good ordered was absolutely beautiful. We came away very full and very impressed.
