The Victoria Restaurant in Isle of Anglesey

Last year I exchanged Tesco points for Chef and Brewer vouchers on the understanding that The Vic would accept them . Double checked at the time on their website . It was time to use them last night. The waitress politely said they no longer accept the vouchers . I explained that they did when I exchanged my Tesco points for vouchers. The nearest other Chef and Brewer is 47 miles away. So we left and made our way up the road to The Fourcrosses where we had a lovely meal . All's well that ends well , Tesco have agreed to take the vouchers back and refund my points. This is no fault of the staff , all down to Chef and Brewer for changing their terms and conditions during the time I held the vouchers. A pity really.

Amazing from start to finish,great welcome from the staff. Beautiful inside and out with views to die for!10/10for they food just perfect couldn't fault anything lovely I will most definitely be back

Disappointing- bar staff too busy to serve due to chatting, guy behind the bar very surly and unapproachable. Food very disappointing - gammon overcooked, egg hard chips over done and peas like bullets. Had to ask for cutlery, then salt and pepper, then sauces. Waitress brought two meals the. Few minutes before third meal arrived, steak and ale pie very average, chips overdone, veg microwaved to within an inch of edible! Plates so hot - as though they had been sat on pass for a while! Expected a lot more for our money! 😢

What a stunning restaurant. The food was delicious! We particularly enjoyed the garlic mushrooms and the belly pork. The staff were attentive and friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening. Would definitely return.

My husband and I visited The Victoria Pub in Anglesey in March 2024. We had just gone in for a couple of drinks. The staff in the bar area was very friendly and found us somewhere to sit as soon as a table came available as the pub was very busy. As we sat there we watched and noticed how hard the staff serving the food worked. They smiled as they went passed our table and the food looked amazing. I ordered some coconut ice cream which was my favourite and not a lot of places do it. We had a couple more drinks before leaving. But when I was leaving I asked to see the manager to express how friendly and hard working the staff are. Next time I am in Anglesey I will be going back. Definitely recommend here for a meal.

The restaurant looked nice and the staff were lovely and understanding however the food was absolutely terrible, waited awhile for our VERY dry, overcooked and overpriced meals, speaking as someone who works in the industry, I understand the pressures however this experience was absolutely awful, we left very disappointed and will certainly not be coming back.

We were a party of 12 and we had preorderd. Unfortunately we were 30 mins late by the time we all gathered together and sat at our table. My starter was chicken strips. It looked presentable but the chicken was dried up and very crunchy. My main was again chicken...the smothered with cheese and bbq sauce. The salad was very nice but unfortunately the bacon served was dried out and the chicken was well and truly dried out . I could only eat the inner thicker part of the dish.Both starter and the main were only luke warm. I did not complain on the night as I thought it was mainly our fault for being late but on reflection afterwards the food served should have been edible. The staff were friendly , obliging and courteous throughout .

The food was good, the view was good and the restaurant itself looked nice, but I won't be going again We were invited to sit anywhere in the bar area or restaurant. We found somewhere quiet to sit and the manager rudely told us that we couldn't sit there because they area wasn't in use and scoffed that we couldn't sit on a large table if it was just two of us. There was probably around 80% of tables remaining so I didn't understand why it mattered General disorganisation ruined the atmosphere for me- the menus were different prices, they brought my friend out the wrong meal initially, they charged my friend for a main when she ordered a starter, I asked if I could pay before the meals were cooked because last time I came the staff were not trained enough to process a gift voucher I had so ended up paying- they said I could pay after we ate which seemed like beside my point, the table was wobbly, there was workmen painting with no acknowledgement or apologies from the staff, if there was areas they didnt want us to sit then why not close the section I wouldn't go again unless new management was there

Thank you for the totally brilliant service in the restaurant this evening. We were needing to be out to an event in Llangefni for 7pm (and were weren't even seated till 5.40 !) but made it with time to spare having had a most delicious meal. Well done all concerned. Gold stars all round1

Great scenery, drinks choices, and decoration!

One night stay at this hotel. Very clean nicely decorated rooms, bar and restaurant. Very helpful staff and management. We would stay here again.

Visited early Saturday evening, place was busy and staff were helpful and attentive. Unfortunately the food was poor, especially the children’s offerings of pizza and chicken strips. The strips were over cooked and hard and the pizza undercooked, both portions were small. Adult mains were expensive, undercooked fish with dried up mushy peas and average classic burger. Decent local restaurants such as Dylan’s need not be concerned if this is the competition standard.

Had mother's day meal with my family today and we were very disappointed. The meals were not very good, we all had different meals, even my granddaughter didn't like her chicken she said it tasted funny. The staff took about half an hour to clear the table after our main course, they took our dessert order and that took 40 minutes to reach the table, the waitress apologised for the delay.

Loved out one night stay here. Hotel has had a refurbishment and looks lovely. We had a family room. It was comfortable, very clean and we all slept well. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Both were excellent with great service. The view from the back of the hotel is stunning.

We visited on a busy Friday evening and hadn’t booked . The place was very busy and the staff advised as we had a dog with us we could only eat in the bar area . Fortunately someone shared their table with us , but soon after the staff were kind enough to seek us out to advise a table was available in another area if the bar . We ordered food which came very quickly and was delicious ! The young lad that helped deliver the food was so lovely and couldn’t do enough to help , in fact aside from how good the food was the whole staff we encountered were an absolute credit to this place . We will definitely come again !

This hotel restaurant had been recommended to us on our travels but disappointingly, it did not live up to expectations. Whilst it was busy, this did not account for what was overpriced, and in the case of a vegetarian dish, a tasteless and very small offering. If nothing else, value for money was expected but the size of all the dishes fell far short of the prices being charged. One small redeeming feature was that the service was good and prompt despite how busy the restaurant was.

Visited this little gem . I was in my own but needed a well earned meal and drink. Was made very welcome and didn’t feel overwhelmed as on my own. Was seated to a beautiful table looking over the Menai . Fish and chips was to die for. Hot fresh and cooked to perfection. Sat back and relaxed with a cappuccino looking over the Menai . So peaceful . Perfect way to finish my visit ! Well done the staff at Victoria. Will be back soon

Amazing place! Have visited several times since they've opened and never been disappointed! Brilliant place for families and also for a romantic meal. Cannot wait to visit in summer. The views are out of this world. Food and service spot on 👌

Used to stay here for business before the refurb and I have to say the place is now absolutely stunning. The decor is out of this world and I'm happy to say there are still lots of familiar faces from the old freindly team. Dinner was delicious I had the Cod and chips followed by the sticky toffee pudding which was to die for! You would expect the rooms to be a higher end of the tariff rate considering how well done and high spec they have been refurbed but they are at a surprising resonable price which is even better however I would pay more. All in all this place is a real gem and I can't wait to visit again for pleasure next time rather than business!

£19 for a pint and a single bacardi. London prices but in Wales. Absolute rip off. Food wasn't even that good either! Go to Dylans was lovely.

Absolutely loved this hotel , the mood the energy from the staff , the rooms were perfect and cannot fault anything. We travelled from Nottingham everything from start to finish 2 nights was just perfect !!! Your staff are a credit and stevie was just lovely ! Will deffinately be booking again very very soon !

Our third visit since the refurbishment and probably our last. Just such a shame that the surroundings and staff (lovely) don't match the food quality (very average). A lot of people seem to be saying the same thing. As a vegetarian I was a bit limited for choice (with the exception of the Mushroom 'pie' which I had last time and didn't enjoy) everything had a spice element. I don't like spicy food so just had vegetable soup and some chips. Unfortunately, even the (small portion of lukewarm) soup was spicy!!! The accompanying bread was advertised as a 'wedge of bloomer'. In reality it was three very meagre grey and tasteless slices with the tiniest sliver of butter. My Husband loved his smothered chicken mind. Everything just tastes processed. The Vic has a lot of competition in Menai Bridge on the food front and they really need to raise their game if they're going to survive.

We had a table in the conservatory next to the Christmas tree, family of five, the waitresses Kim, Michelle and Lauren worked very hard and were very polite and helpful. The Christmas decorations were beautiful and added to the lovely atmosphere. Everybody's was faultless I would highly recommend and return in the future. Well done team Vic

We visited here for a breakfast whilst staying nearby in a cottage. The interior is beautiful having had a full refurbishment earlier this year. There is a huge dining area that opens up into a beautiful terraced area over looking the estuary. As we had our dog with us we sat in the bar area for our food which was just as pleasant as the restaurant. The staff were very polite and friendly and the breakfast was excellent. We are considering going back to stay for a couple of nights in the new year. We would definitely recommend visiting if ever you are in or near Menai Bridge.

Beautiful decor and views of the Menai Strait, spoilt by disappointing food. It was our second visit and it was just as bad as the first time we went. Unfortunately, it is typical chain Restaurant food. Cheap ingredients, badly cooked but overpriced for the quality. We live locally but won’t be going again!

A group of 8 friends had a lovely Festive Menu yesterday. We all enjoyed our Food and Service. Slight negative. Those who had Tiger Prawns found the peeling procedure messy although the Dish was excellent (especially the Romesco Sauce) Wet Wipe or Bowl of water would have made things easier.

The Food was ( Weatherspoons quality). But Thought it would have been better! i expected a bit more home made not microwave meal! The decor and place was fantastic, staff were great!

Large group met up for dinner, lots of pleasant service staff but I would like to kindly point out that I didn't feel our group was looked after well. My meal was forgotten so I sat with an empty place setting whilst everyone else enjoyed their food. After 10 mins had to notify staff that mine hadn't come, because no one had checked if all was ok. It had obviously been forgotten. When it did come it had the wrong side dish. Empty plates and glasses filled the table, no-one was looking after us, no one collecting empties - whose responsibility was it to keep checking if our table needed clearing or if indeed all of us had received a meal? Disappointed - not in the personable staff, but in their training - something was amiss or lacking 🫤 in my day I'd work for my tip by ensuring table was looked after in all aspects of service.

After finding no other places serving brunch in midweek in Menai Bridge, we reluctantly returned to the Vic. Very pleasantly surprised! Service was much better (permanent staff, rather than casual maybe?), food was very good as previously. Would recommend.
