Great location, good facilities, food and drink all great, BUT, was surprised and very disappointed to find the same cheap metal chairs in the restaurant as outside, plus these have got to be the ugliest and most uncomfortable chairs ever!!!!!!!!

Loved it here, great atmosphere, lovely open views, entrance is a little confusing as signs seem to direct you behind the steps, but it is actually up the steps. You can also access via a lift or stairs from the ground floor bar and toilet area. Food was very good, wife had fish and chips, fish was lightly cooked and flaked beautifully. I had the fish pie, which was very tasty but wasn't a 'pie' in the usual sense, my only slight critique would be that there wasn't enough of the lovely mashed potatoes. The sauce was superb and the accompanying peas & broccoli stems were delicious. Capped off with a lovely pint of Cheshire cat and my good lady had a very nice pinot blush. Service (courtesy of 'Tom') was friendly and excellent, thanks Tom! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be looking to return when we next visit the area.

Location and setting great. Had a drink in Wills bar which was nice However food and service in restaurant was below average. GF options ok. But food is ready in an instant, which means all prepared well in advance and not prepared to order. Literally just finished our starters and mains arrived, no clearance of plates. Despite the waitress just dumping the mains. Which was below average food. Nothing to shout about. Dessert, which was £10 again arrived prepared and obviously just been sat in a fridge. Waited 20 minutes for a coffee. Which was the only gesture to be knocked off the bill. Visit the bars. But nicer restaurants in Anglesey.

I'm honestly disgusted in the way we were treated at this restaurant. The way we were made to feel because we had a baby with us who was happily playing with a toy was totally unacceptable. So up until the starters everything was going fine, until the front of house female came to our table and asked could we stop our 7 month old baby to stop playing with her toy as it was too loud. So for context this is at 5pm and the restuarant is full off children with the noise level already being elevated that comes with a busy restuarant. Whats the toy she was playing with you may ask that was causing such a noise issue, a drum set maybe? A trumpet? No, it was neither, it was a rattle!!! A wooden rattle. We were in total disbelief after this and so asked for the bill as no parents should be made to feel that there baby is doing something wrong by contently playing with a toy at the table. It just so happens it was the table next to us that had decided to complain but say nothing to us directly, which was apparent when they was leaving and the conversation with the front of house female, at this point I felt that I should ask what the issue was and why were we being made to feel ostracized. At this point the male of the table who complained clearly felt embarrassment of being called out publicly and could only respond with aggressiveness, to which I responded appropriately without any violence, but myself being off the bigger stature I was immediately identified as the problem. We were asked to leave, thats ok, not a problem we were leaving anyway. But just when we thought the treatment couldn't get any worse, literally 2 minutes after being asked to leave, as we were getting our things together, a male and female security were at our table again saying to leave, which we were in the process of doing, but packing up with a baby isn't an instant process. Whats the main objective of any door supervisor? Its too difuse a situation, but clearly it had been a quiet day, especially for the female as she proceeded to make derogatory comments when we were already leaving the premises. No parents of a young baby should never be made to feel like this at any time but especially not again in this restaurant. To prevent this I suggest the following to the Oyster catcher. 1. Don't advertise as a family restuarant if you are unable to accommodate the noise that comes with a family, how would you deal with a child who may be screaming down the restuarant crying, Iet alone a baby happily playing with a rattle 2. Learn how to correctly approach any such situation. Maybe offer an alternative table to either party and not instruct parents to tell there child to be quiet. When there are multiple tables in the restuarant with children making equal if not more noise. 3. Employ new door supervisors who are able to appropriately assess a situation and deal with it accordingly. Dealing with a family with a young baby does not require the same approach as dealing with a group a young lads who are under the influence of alcohol. How do you think it feels being escorted out in front of a full restuarant when we was already leaving on our own accord with the female door supervisor making unnecessary comments. Looking back and evaluating this situation I can only come to the conclusion that it's a case of discrimination, due to the fact of my partner having a foreign accent. There is no other justification or reasoning of the behaviour displayed by The Oyster catcher.

Was nearby on Anglesey and had heard of this place numerous times, so gave it a go. Was Sunday lunch time ("early" - around 1230hrs) and didn't have a booking. Got a table by the window overlooking the lake (Llyn Maelog) - a few tables already filling up. Lovely inside and pleasant staff to welcome us to the table. Menu was to be expected for Sunday lunch and some nibbles & starters on offer. Went for the chorizo and whipped feta nibbles - amazing. The whipped feta was delicious. The only complaint is that I should have ordered 2, but tried to exercise at least some restraint. Chicken roast was good (chicken on the bone, so if that is not your thing, choose one of the others). Beef looked a perfect colour, and a generous serving. Trimmings were nice and had to have the pigs in blankets too! Service was pleasant throughout. Appeared to be plenty of staff on shift. Some cocktails were available too, adjacent table enjoyed some Margherita's which looked good. Probably need to book if you are any later, by the time we left around 1400hrs the majority of the tables were full. Also bar downstairs - I am sure this place would be quite the attraction come the warmer weather

We also ordered food from Pat’s Shack as a group. The prices on the menu are very cleverly written without pound signs and in a pale blue so less noticeable. Ended up ordering cheesy chips and afterwards my husband pointed out they were £9.50 and not only were they £9.50 they didn’t have any garlic butter on them because they’d run out yet still charged full price for them. Incredibly disappointing experience. One of the hot American pizzas also came without chillis on even though I’d said yes to chillis

Beautiful food in a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful place. STARTERS/TAPAS The Crab Croquetas were crispy on the outside and didn’t taste fishy. The crab flavour worked well with the spicy-sweetness of the chilli jam which also added to the Hot Welsh Honey Hummus when the flatbread was dipped in it. The Hot Welsh Honey Hummus was creamy and you could tell it was homemade as you could taste the tahini. The flatbread was nicely charred and I could smell it as it came to our table. The sweetness of the honey paired well with the hummus especially when the chilli garnish was there. MAINS The Celtic Pride Beef Rump Steak was deeply umami , perfectly medium rare as I asked for it, and unusually for a rump steak it was the tenderest steak I have ever had. The chips were perfectly seasoned and the inside was so soft it was like fondant. The garlic butter was delicious and added very well to the steak. It also gave a unique umami flavour to the watercress when it first touched the tongue. The watercress was flavourful and a bit spicy as it should be. Of the drinks menu I chose Fentimans rose lemonade (this part is really just a review on Fentimans rose lemonade) which was light and flavourful. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was lovely with nice decor and the landscape was grassy, windswept sand dunes. Beautiful food in a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful place.

This was our third annual visit however was not up to par this evening. Service and food not up to previous standards or expectations. Had to send back lukewarm food as did the table next to us. Sadly we won’t be coming back.

Visited twice whilst on holiday - Sunday roast was fantastic as was the burger on other night. Dog friendly as well. Staff very nice and as off season parking really easy

Went for a Sunday lunch. Food was amazing! Decent portion sizes. Roast lamb was cooked perfectly. I personally would have liked my roast potatoes a bit crispier. My partner had a steak, I think it was a little bit cheeky to charge £4 extra for peppercorn sauce where most other places it is included. But this was also cooked perfectly. It was a warm, cozy atmosphere but was quite loud at times and hard to hear but would definitely go again.

Fantastic location, service, food and friendly and helpful staff. Very dog friendly. The crab salad was fantastic. Highly recommended. Just been back again. Just as good. Great food, drink and staff

Came here for a Sunday roast with a large group of people and I can’t recommend this place more! The food was absolutely incredible and I’d honestly quite like to work my way through the whole menu, it all sounds divine and if the roast dinner was anything to go by, the rest of the meals will be superb. I will definitely be coming back here again and you won’t be sorry if you choose to eat here too!

Just a stunning building inside and out. We only visited for a drink but on looking inside we could well end up staying here in the future

Closed down a couple of years ago! Sadly a wasted visit, although lots of produce as now just a farm shop, very over priced

Absolutely excellent pub. Friendly welcoming staff. Landlord Kieran is such a wonderful charming, kind, sincere Gentleman, Also a highly skilled Professional Chef by trade.. His food is out of this world, 5 Star food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely delicious!! I would highly recommend the Stag Inn for a gorgeous cold Marston's or any other of the fine selection of bitters, larger, ales, spirits. Wonderful friendly atmosphere with the staff and the locals. I can't wait to come back again. Thanks Kieran for making myself and best friend feel so very welcome. from ^Reece^
