Called for Sunday lunch we had the burger and lamb as only lamb left. Was just about ok, mainly lamb and gravy, more veg required, waitress threw the over loaded gravy plate at us. Burger and fries again just about ok. Great atmosphere but food and service disappointing for the price paid

Well, once again another lovely visit to The Oystercatcher yesterday for a birthday meal. Food was fantastic as usual, haloumi fries, crab,Korean BBQ wings for starters followed by OC burgers, rump steak and fish pie - thank you Chris.Special mention to the Korean wings-insanely good.Probably our 4th or 5th visit in the last couple of years, has to be my favourite restaurant. Location is stunning and a mention to our server Tom-really professional, great service throughout the meal. If you haven’t been here, you have to go.

The atmosphere and staff were absolutely lovely, but unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. Paying £24 for a mediocre burger (without chips) and £19 for a bland risotto felt disappointing. For the price, I expected much better quality and flavour

Fantastic Dining Experience in Anglesey – A Must-Visit! If you're looking for an incredible dining experience in Anglesey, this restaurant is an absolute gem. From the moment you step inside, you're welcomed by a warm and lively atmosphere. The ground floor features a stylish bar with great music, making it a perfect spot for drinks before or after your meal. The real magic happens on the top floor, where the restaurant boasts a stunning terrace with breathtaking views—especially at sunset. The ambiance is both relaxed and elegant, making it an ideal spot for any occasion. The food is simply outstanding! The seafood is as fresh as it gets, with perfectly cooked dishes . Service is top-notch, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who make sure you have everything you need. Whether you're a local or visiting Anglesey, this place is a must-visit for an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommended!

Was nearby on Anglesey and had heard of this place numerous times, so gave it a go. Was Sunday lunch time ("early" - around 1230hrs) and didn't have a booking. Got a table by the window overlooking the lake (Llyn Maelog) - a few tables already filling up. Lovely inside and pleasant staff to welcome us to the table. Menu was to be expected for Sunday lunch and some nibbles & starters on offer. Went for the chorizo and whipped feta nibbles - amazing. The whipped feta was delicious. The only complaint is that I should have ordered 2, but tried to exercise at least some restraint. Chicken roast was good (chicken on the bone, so if that is not your thing, choose one of the others). Beef looked a perfect colour, and a generous serving. Trimmings were nice and had to have the pigs in blankets too! Service was pleasant throughout. Appeared to be plenty of staff on shift. Some cocktails were available too, adjacent table enjoyed some Margherita's which looked good. Probably need to book if you are any later, by the time we left around 1400hrs the majority of the tables were full. Also bar downstairs - I am sure this place would be quite the attraction come the warmer weather

Came for a casual evening and a bit of winter sun. Disappointed when I ordered one of their four cocktails (gin basil smash) and early on a Friday around 4.30pm they didn’t have any basil. We also ordered food from Pat’s Shack as a group. The prices on the menu are very cleverly written without pound signs and in a pale blue so less noticeable. Ended up ordering cheesy chips and afterwards my husband pointed out they were £9.50 and not only were they £9.50 they didn’t have any garlic butter on them because they’d run out yet still charged full price for them. Incredibly disappointing experience. One of the hot American pizzas also came without chillis on even though I’d said yes to chillis

Beautiful food in a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful place. STARTERS/TAPAS The Crab Croquetas were crispy on the outside and didn’t taste fishy. The crab flavour worked well with the spicy-sweetness of the chilli jam which also added to the Hot Welsh Honey Hummus when the flatbread was dipped in it. The Hot Welsh Honey Hummus was creamy and you could tell it was homemade as you could taste the tahini. The flatbread was nicely charred and I could smell it as it came to our table. The sweetness of the honey paired well with the hummus especially when the chilli garnish was there. MAINS The Celtic Pride Beef Rump Steak was deeply umami , perfectly medium rare as I asked for it, and unusually for a rump steak it was the tenderest steak I have ever had. The chips were perfectly seasoned and the inside was so soft it was like fondant. The garlic butter was delicious and added very well to the steak. It also gave a unique umami flavour to the watercress when it first touched the tongue. The watercress was flavourful and a bit spicy as it should be. Of the drinks menu I chose Fentimans rose lemonade (this part is really just a review on Fentimans rose lemonade) which was light and flavourful. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was lovely with nice decor and the landscape was grassy, windswept sand dunes. Beautiful food in a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful place.

Always enjoy our visits here-only complaint would be the prices which are fairly keen sadly and no EV charging point which in this day and age is on oversight as more people switch to electric vehicles and with higher prices a little "energy" incentive would go a long way! Went for a Sunday lunch. Food was amazing! Decent portion sizes. Roast lamb was cooked perfectly. I personally would have liked my roast potatoes a bit crispier. My partner had a steak, I think it was a little bit cheeky to charge £4 extra for peppercorn sauce where most other places it is included. But this was also cooked perfectly. It was a warm, cozy atmosphere but was quite loud at times and hard to hear but would definitely go again.

Lovely ambience in Will’s bar, not cheap but nice to be in. Been in a good few times over the years, but the pizza from Pat’s Shack is not really good enough. The menu sells “American Hot” which has Pepperoni, Fresh chillies, mozzarella, Parmesan, fresh oregano” Unfortunately there wasn’t any fresh chillies or fresh oregano. Poor considering the price is £12.50 The staff at pats shack aren’t particularly engaging or enthusiastic about being there. I’ll start with the positive, friendly staff, great decor & ambience. Then the negatives, we were waiting for over 35 minutes for food, then were very disappointed. The pizzas are advertised as hand-stretched, but did seem more likely to be pre-bought. Cheesy chips were good, but £9 is excessive. The fishfinger sandwich was the most disappointing, thick, dry, batter, very little fish in one fishfinger in a cheap hot dog bun for £13.50. Might return for a drink, but will eat elsewhere!

Went here for my wife's birthday with our son and 2 dogs. The restaurant is sat in a beautiful place and felt very welcoming. The staff were very welcoming, polite and checking to make sure everything was satisfactory. The decor was spot on, set out to feel warm and cosy and it definitely made you relax and feel comfortable. The food was fantastic too although my wife would have preferred sliced chicken rather than off the bone but that's a preference thing. We started with oysters, first time ever, chicken dinner for my wife, our baby boy and 2 doggie chicken dinners and I had rump beef roast dinner. Finished off with treacle sponge and custard for my wife ( shared with our baby boy and I has meringue with a delicious blueberry cream. All 10/10 except my wife's chicken but she still marked it as a solid 7. Overall it was a really nice afternoon and we even planned on going back later in the holiday. Now to the not so good bit. Later on in the early hours I woke feeling rather queezy, tried to sleep it off but all of a sudden I had to quick sharp march to the toilet. I spent the next 3 hours being ill from both ends non stop. I woke my wife to sleep in the babbies room ( we take it in turns on holiday) as I was seriously ill. My wife appeared OK, that was until later in the morning when she became seriously ill too. Aching bones, shivering and chills, explosive vomiting and the runs and an awful awful feeling of being ill. We have both never felt so ill and that includes having covid and bad migraines it was just horrendous. Even our 2 doggies had the runs but luckily the babbie was OK. Now we are not ones to normally complain or leave a bad review but you can't ever forget an experience like that. We put it down to the oysters but with the doggies have a dodgy belly we wondered if the food was prepared on an unclean surface. The food we ate was the only food we ate that day, and the day before was just what we normally eat at home with both myself and my wife rating different things. The meal cost us 125 pound which to most people including us is an awful lot of money but at the time it was worth it. Also after reading a previous review where one of them also had food poisoning and were offered a free drink if they were ever in the area again, well is just an insult. I understand it is hard to prove if you contacted food poisoning from a certain establishment and you could just be lying but believe me we reckon it was the oysters although the doggies were poorly so it could have been the chicken even though I had beef, but no definitely oysters and as a lover of fish dishes I am now put off for life from eating anything from the sea as is my wife. Just think there needs to be more sincerity from restaurants, cafes, food establishments that serve food that makes you ill. It's ashame really as this review would have been better and maybe would have helped bring more customers to this establishment.

We arrived for lunch, and sat in Will’s Bar and ordered from Pat’s Shack. You have to order drinks from Will’s Bar from grumpy bar staff who shout at you, and then walk outside to order food from disinterested teenagers. Having cleared our own table from the last diners’ very dirty fries and pizza boxes, we waited 30 mins for food. On arrival, the Dog’s Pollocks were two fish fingers in thick, greasy batter placed in cheap, dry brioche hotdog buns with sauce. £13.50 each for that, plus £5 for a portion of fries. Maybe upstairs is better.

Sadly I wish we hadn't bothered and will not be visiting again. Whilst the food and presentation was very nice the price of the food compared to what you received sadly didn't hit the mark. We had heard several reviews of this restaurant and after a family walk we called in on the chance that we might get a table. There were 12 of us and were given a table directly in front of the kitchen where we were able to look at the kitchen staff working. Most of my party ,children and adults enjoyed it ,Burgers and fries etc, but I was disappointed because I thought it was going to be something special. What was a concern however was the person running the kitchen who constantly put the food on the plates using his hands . He never once washed his hands even after wiping his nose or removing sweat from his forehead and once he pushed a tub of chips into a fellow chefs face before putting it on someone's plate It is a very popular place and in a nice spot. By all means try it but try to sit and enjoy the view not the kitchen

We last visited a year ago and came back for a meal on our family holiday again this year. Love the setting, food was nice but service was poor. It wasn’t full as the weather wasn’t great, but still waited ages between starter and main, didn’t get asked if we would like another drink even though we had finished them before the main, had to ask for a desert menu, when desert came… we had no spoons and I just had to get them myself and lastly had to ask for bill twice. Was a real shame as it could be so lovely. Only complaint with food was £4 for gravy with the fish & chips… gravy was very watery and a ridiculous price but the fish was amazing.

Didn’t like this pub at all. Went to sit outside on balcony area to our horror they was dog poo. Looking down in to a very run down garden area. Which was also full of dog poo. Will not be visiting again.

Location is really nice, great view of the Menai Straits. But, there is no justification for the price of the drinks. 2 pints and a packet of crisps, £15! The food is overpriced too.

Closed down a couple of years ago! Sadly a wasted visit, although lots of produce as now just a farm shop, very over priced

Lively watering hole with friendly bar staff . Great value for money, good choice of ales and Spirits . Comfortable seating , and clean toilets with easy access from Street to bar .
