Before I give any negatives I will say the Bed was comfy and the room spotless. However there was Zero Hot Water even after numerous visits to the Bar I ended up having to walk across the Hallway to use a Power Shower even though I had requested a Bath due to suffering from MS. Then I find there is no Remote Control to the TV even after an extensive search and yet another visit to a probably pissed off Barman I finally just gave up and decided to call it a night. This was a very reasonable place to stay but feel like I should have booked elsewhere and paid more as I will be leaving feeling completely underwhelmed by this whole experience. Also sadly none of the Heating came on during the night so woke up Freezing and not overall refreshed

Went for an evening meal after driving around looking for a decent place to eat. We were greeted by a young waiter, who was polite and friendly. We ordered fish and chips, and salmon pasta surprise. The food arrived after a short wait, and believe me it was a surprise. The battered fish was in two small pieces, the waiter explained that the chef gave an extra piece as it was small, it was served with 3 very thick battered onion rings, which when bitten into the onion had been cut so thick it was raw. The chips had been cooked more than once. The salmon pasta surprise looked totally inedible, which it was. It contained sliced mushrooms which were not cooked, a few bits of salmon , and coated in some sort of sauce, topped with a pile of parmesan cheese. The garlic bread was hard to bite into and must have been cooked in a microwave. There was a group playing pool, which the barman joined and the language was choice to say the least. We did not vomplain at the time as we felt uneasy being there.

Stopped off for lunch on the way back to Treaddur Bay from Halen mon. All four of us (2 adults, 2 teenage boys) enjoyed our meals, the fish pie was gorgeous, potato wedges (chips) were lovely and Burgers, gammon and steak perfectly cooked. Nice side salad with rocket instead of Lettuce (perfect for me!) and a very tasty Peppercorn gravy! Compliments to the Chef, we would highly recommend lunching here!

Avoid like the plague! Glasses were diry no ice. The tables were dirty and sticky. The food arrive and was of a very basis standard. I think the chef forgot to put tomatoes in the lasagne, very bland with poor quality mince. The hunters chicken was as dry as sand. Never again, we tried to support local businesses but when you pay £50.00 for 3 meals and all you are served is basic cheap cafe style food. Never again!

We went to the new look restaurant for a meal and were very pleased. I had gammon, two eggs and freshly cooked chips from the specials board and my husband had chicken Tikka wrap with salad, he was asked if he wanted chips and said he would, however when he got he wrap he didn't get the chips but we weren't charged for them so he did without. We would definitely go again.

After hearing it was under new management I thought I’d attempt to visit again. Now I wish I hadn’t botherd. It’s Deffinetly a pub for the locals and not for visitors. As soon as we parkedup we were greeted by awful stares from those smoking right outside the entrance... upon entering the pub we waited a good whole before we were even acknowledged to be rudley told they weren’t serving food. They didn’t even ask if we wanted any drinks instead... customer service wasn’t awful and we felt totally unwanted likewe had walked into a private party. Will Deffinetly not be returning

I was always told to start any report with a "positive" so here it is: The staff were friendly. They smiled at us and exchanged pleasantries as we entered the pub, chose our table and sat down. Having said that though, our experience of eating here was at best "grim"! Four of us went for an evening meal and our first impression as we walked into the place was that it was cold, barren and completely cheerless. It was a chilly evening but there was no heating on nor was the fire lit (It wasn't even laid - the grate was just full of old ashes and litter. However, we decided to give it a whirl thinking that the staff would get the hint and organise some sort of heating if we sat huddled up in our outdoor coats for long enough. Wrong! We were left to shiver! The menu seemed ordinary enough - the usual pub grub at prices just slightly above the norm but not extortionate. Anyway we'd travelled a fair way and were tired so we ordered our meals (1 steak, 2 cod & chips & 1 surf & turf). Yuk! The surf & turf was swimming in grease, the steak was 70% grizzle & the fish inside the batter was a very strange grey colour. Definitely not a dining experience we'd ever want to repeat. This is the only pub in the area and must surely enjoy a fair amount of tourist trade. With a bit more effort to brighten (and warm) up the sitting area (and possibly a different chef) it could surely develop a reputation as a great place to eat and drink in that part of Anglesey. Get your act together Holland Arms.

After watching the football we decided to go for a quick pint here .... at first all seemed good. Nice looking place, until I got served my pint (that can only be described as cat piss). We put two 50p coins down on the pool table to reserve a couple of games of pool but the local drunk didn’t like this as apparently it was “his” pool table and he decided who played in it. Eventually, after managing to inhale two mouthfuls of the cat piss we decided to leave ... but as we went to take out two 50p coins from the pool table that we had previously left there .... the local drunk decided that because they had been on the table longer than 5 minutes he owned them. Safe to say myself, friends or anyone else I know will not be returning. Chow.

Only ate here 4 times but thoroughly enjoyed every meal during my stay at the hotel. Burgers were freshly prepared every evening and were amazing with loads of great Welsh cheddar propping off them, the chilli I had one evening was delicious too. On the 2 occasions I had a Sunday roast, I couldn't fault it, enough to choke a horse and the pork and beef roasts I had were very tender and succulent. The staff service was excellent and very attentive and above all the value for money was second to known. Thank you

Usually come here for a carvery on a Sunday with my man as we know we always have a nice meal. Well.....I'm not sure if the place has changed hands but we had a shock. They were stingy with the meat for a start. The turkey was drier than an Arabs fart, the beef was more beef jerky! Roast potatoes would have been nice if you had them last week...even Aunt Bessie's could give them a run for their money. No stuffing....so be prepared to take your own. No apple sauce to moisten my pork. The peas were so hard if you flicked them you could have someone's eye out. The yorkshire pudding couldnt decide whether it was a yorkshire or a pancake. Good to see they cater for babies....root mash was pureed especially for them. For added insult they've put their prices up. Fair play the coke was spot on!!

It was a shame that there was no pineapple only (pineapple chutney) with the gammon & no peas only a leafy salad, the kids goujons could have been cooked slightly less but the gammon its self, the burger, the homemade chips, the pan fried duck & the pork fillet were delicious. We will be visiting again.

Whilst visiting my wife's family on Anglesey 4 of us went for a meal at the Holland Arms. My brother in law had the gammon as did I, both of us were extremely pleased, delicious! However my wife and her sister both had the vegetarian lasagne and we're both very disappointed. The lasagne was very dry and tasteless and the garlic bread only just warm. The salad was OK. A comment was made to the waitress who apologised. Shame if you need to be careful what you order.

We called in late on a Sunday afternoon having been to the wonderful Newborough Beach and not fancying cooking back at the caravan. We chose off the specials menu and as it was quiet, our food(home made steak and ale pie and a sirloin steak) came to us quite quickly which we weren't complaining about as we'd worked up an appetite. You could tell the chef cared about his food,it was well presented, plentiful and really tasty. It was great to get a decent, well cooked dish of veg as well, four different veg too.Thoroughly enjoyed the food, just a shame there was no real ambience because of the lack of people, and a bit of background music might have helped with that.No problems with the food though and would recommend.Good choice of beers too.

Still wondering why my assessment had been so different from ones made by previous diners, I returned the following evening with two family members, and, together, we explored a wider range of menu items. The special menu offered up another splendid, tasty dish, while the standard 'British' fare was perfectly cooked and well presented. And there was a range of non-meat items from which a very tasty selection was made. No fluke! This restaurant is clearly 'On the Up!'

We went here before Christmas for a friends Christening. The place has been done up quite nice from what it used to be, but that's the best I can say about our experience to be honest. We had a buffet which was just your standard buffet food, nothing to shout home about and sandwiches a bit dry for my liking, so I didn't have much. But the worst thing by far, they were served on disposable paper plates!!! Not exactly what I'd call classy or appropriate. This definitely spoilt the occasion a bit.The chef was then caught red handed helping himself to a huge piece of our friends delicious brought in Christening cake. What a cheek! He must have been hungry and not fancy his own food!Still, we thought a drink would go down better. Afraid not. The beer was not very good, but worse still was the price. Nearly £9 for a pint of lager and a bottle of fruit cider!!!Such a shame, we really felt for our friends who chose this place and put a slight downer on their special day.Would not recommend the buffet here for any special occasion, and at those expensive prices we won't be stopping for a drink again either.

Visited the Holland Arms few years ago and the food and the cleanliness of the place wasn't very good. After reading a few reviews on here me and my family decided to give the place another try. Walking in the Holland Arms you could tell that it was very clean and that the new owners had done well in tidying the place up, but this is as far as my good comments go! We were a family of 4 and wanting to sit down for a meal. We approached the bar to order some drinks, the lad behind the bar had no customer service skills what so ever! There was no can I help you? Good evening! Or hello, what can I get you? Absolutely disgusting. We did order some drinks and my dad did try to make conversation with the bar men but yet fails to make polite conversation with my dad. Yet again very disgusted. When asking if we could order food we got a one word reply, YEP! We were not showed a table or even given menu's. The lad behind the bar was more interested in who was texting him and what was on the tv than his customers that wanted serving. We didn't end up ordering food we finished our drinks and left after having such bad customer service.

Customer facing staff is key to a pleasurable experience stay at any hotel though staff seemed to be demotivated and seemingly reflected that, in my opinion, of the general managers demeanour. Never had such a cold reception…. anywhere! Shame. Food nice enough as was accommodation. Sadly to add, my car which was parked overnight and was subjected by those who insist on wearing hoodies in the twilight hours collecting car badges by the use of screwdrivers! Not the fault of the hotel but just added to the forgettable experience. Choice is always yours!

Went for a drink on a Sunday night. Opening hours were unclear, although Google said 11pm. They called last orders about 8pm, they were cleaning around us, not the most welcoming, said they were being paid until 9pm. Odd but would return maybe on a busier Saturday to try again. No Guinness, had to try their version which was ok.
