Quite busy for a Wednesday lunchtime, but space enough for the 4 of us. Ordered 1 x fish & Chips, 1 x Scampi & Chips & 1 x Fish pie which was shared by 2 (to be honest more than enough). All delicious and plates cleared. We followed with 3 x Apple Crumble & Ice cream (as opposed to custard) but when requested were more than happy to provide cream as well. AND 1 x Ice cream - I just needed something sweet, a scoop of vanilla & salted caramel . . . job done. All beautifully presented, but sadly I have no photo's as I wanted to eat, not photograph!

Great food, plenty of it. Ribs were fab, lamb curry excellent, fish pie and fish dish all very very tasty. Sadly not many people in there for a Friday night. Don't let this great pub disappear.

Went to this pub to buy a friend a coffee but were greeted by a very rude asian looking woman telling us and another group of 4 people that they didnt open until 12.00 even though their website said 11.00 am. She was very aggressive and although I live close by and have used this pub in the past, would certainly not ever go there again.

One of the best pub meals we have had. Chef (Charlie) was kind enough to give us complimentary nibbles whilst we had drinks. A mix of prawns, smoked salmon, kebabs. Really good of him and appreciated. Mains were fantastic. I had fish and chips which can't be faulted at all. Proper hand cut chips and the fish was 10/10 (not oven chips which so many places now serve). Brisket burger and other dishes were enjoyed by others. The two bar staff were great- smiling at all times and so courteous. Well done guys and keep doing what you do- will be back soon :)

We popped in for drinks having returned to the village from a day out. I have been an occasional visitor over the years but things have 'changed' since my last visit. Certainly not as busy as last time in either the bar or outside. We perused the menu but considered it expensive so didn't dine. This was partly due to the cost of our drinks and we considered £6.90 for a bottled cider exorbitant so it tarnished our view of the place tbh. We would choose somewhere else next time.

Came for a drink on Saturday lunch time and booked a table for dinner for three of us the same night. It's got the relaxed pub atmosphere that we were looking for as it suggest from the very pretty exterior. I had the rare beef salad to start, loved it, and the chicken schnitzel as the main which was tender and tasty with vegetables that still had bite it was fantastic! You may think that's a bit over the top for what you would consider a simple dish but if you do go try it. I also shared a side of the chilli hash browns really good again, all I can say is compliments to the chef he really knows his stuff. The bar and waiting staff were also brilliant, helpful, friendly and chatty just what you want from a local pub like this and even though they were busy worked really hard to make this a very relaxed evening. I enjoyed it so much I had Sunday lunch here the next day, which again was spot on, whilst the rest of the family went to the Abba experience. If you are in the area stop for lunch or dinner and you won't be disappointed.

The Green Man is a lovely pub in a great location with a warm and welcoming atmosphere inside. We enjoyed our visit, especially the delicious food – the Cumberland sausages and mash were excellent! We sat in the garden under the gazebo, which was nice, though the outdoor area could use a bit of improvement. Next time, we'll likely choose to sit indoors to fully enjoy the cozy vibe. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a very pleasant experience, and we would definitely visit again!

I never write poor reviews and often put it down to an “off” day. The Sunday roast was particularly awful: overall tasteless with chewy beef and soggy potatoes. I could see a stack of dozens of Yorkshire puddings in the kitchen. After tasting mine, I asked for one that wasn’t rock hard or cold and I was given one with oil seeping out of it instead. When asked, I explained that £25 for a roast + service in Denham is steep for food that was ultimately pushed around the plate. There was no offer of partial refund or to order something else just an explanation that “everyone else loves the roast.” Some dishes and drinks didn’t arrive. Poor experience and won’t be returning.

Lovely, friendly staff with good service and very understanding of our hopelessly late arrival after getting lost - thank you for that. Also a decent pint of bitter. Unfortunately I can't be so positive about the food. Scotch egg starter was fine but asparagus x 2 were both way overcooked, and also in wildly unnecessarily huge bath of chilli butter. Pork with mustard sauce x 2 both badly overcooked. Mash - oddly served as a side for some reason - very poor according to my fellow diners with no nice buttery taste. Battered haddock not bad but chips were more like chip-shaped roasties. Just all a bit disappointing I'm afraid.

This isn’t the pub it used to be. Food is okay but surely don’t serve frozen chips while putting out well thought out meals. The manager Lee at The Green Man is simply the best at customer service. He is old school which in my book is the best way to be. He will go out of your way to make sure you have a fantastic time here and we certainly did. His attention to detail and care is second to none and he trains his staff accordingly. He cares greatly and this comes across perfectly. Eat here and you will not be disappointed.

Overpriced and poor service Really poor visit today. Disappointed as had been a few years ago and enjoyed the food back then. And we were back for a birthday treat. Very limited menu and slow service. Took around 25 minutes for all our drinks to arrive. When it did we had to regive the order and no glasses were given for the bottles or cans. It took nearly an hour for our food to come out. When the first plates came out we didn’t have any cutlery and we had to go and get it. We just didn’t feel attended too at all and only managed 1 round for drinks in 2 hours as we weren’t asked again for any further drinks and due to the wait we didn’t bother. The salads, kids meals and scampi were very nice and improved the visit and why we have rated the food a 3. The roast dinners seemed very greasy, chicken was dry and vegetables overcooked. The stuffing we ordered on the side seemed to just be sausage. A real shame and we felt begrudged to pay the auto added service charge as we hadn’t felt much service during our visit today. We skipped dessert as we didn’t think it would come out promptly. Despite the kids meals including ice cream we were not offered this and we just paid and left. A shame as we’ve had better visits in prior years.

My late wife and I loved coming to the Green Man. Staff were lovely, the locals always welcoming, and the Sunday roast a treat. After nearly two years to the day I lost my wife I thought I would relive some memories and enjoy the football last weekend. I have never been so upset to see that what was such a lovely pub has become the worst I have ever been to. Entering the pub I had to force my way through a intimidating group of men led by a very drunk man bragging about how he had evaded the police in a car chase and spent some nights in prison as a result, and that it was not his first time. After going in it transpired that he was the head chef at the Green Man. He then went on to be disrespectful regarding customers, and his ‘right’ to have the table he wanted because of his position. Inside was no better. The match was being shown in a marque in the garden. There was none of the characture of the pub I knew. The new management and chef are clearly brining in a very threatening type client. One that makes you feel intimidated and uncomfortable. There were children in the pub, I don’t know how anyone could expose their child to this type of atmosphere. As for the food I saw coming out to customers, I put the menu straight on the table and I left. What has happened to this lovely village pub!

Have visited The Green Man, Denham on a number of occasions before with well deserved 5 star reviews. However, today we were very disappointed - food was very mediocre (more fast food outlet than gastropub - but charged at gastropub prices!) Have gone to the green man multiple times before, however this time I was massively disappointed. Seems like it’s been taken over by new management. It took us ages for someone to take our order, there were 2 girls behind the bar who seemed to be hired to also take orders and serve food from the kitchen. The ‘manager’ seemed half cut, serving customers yet drinking pints from the bar. The only thing that saved them was the quality of the food. Over all it’s terrible, not the same as it was, it wouldn’t surprise me if it closes down… Sundays there used to be so busy, today it was practically empty

Prices are like in central London. We had Sunday rost beef which was tasteless. My 2 friends had chicken roast and chicken was pink (raw) in the middle. We complained and chef sent us another 2 chicken legs. I will share picture with you. Chicken smelled like burnt hair so we think chef used flame to burnt skin to give it colour. Of course we couldn’t eat it. They gave us dessert on them as an apology.(thank you for that ) . Roast chicken should be roasted and not colourless. Gravy didn’t have any taste. I ate there with friends one year ago and food was great but this time we couldn’t believe it how bad was it and as I said we paid central London price for it.

I visited last week with my wife, i must say i was SHOCKED! The managment has changed and not for the better! Last time we came there was a young man as the manager and him and his team were lovely and could not do enought for us. Sadly this time the new manager was a mess! and the menu was very limited. We were sat at the table nearest the kitchen and after sending back my green man burger two times because it was RAW (Swimming in blood RAW) WE Could hear the chef being rude shouting and swearing saying (THE CUSTOMERS ARE WRONG) MY wife had the fish and it was greesy and tasted as if it was frozen not fresh she left 90% of it and did not send it back as the so called chef did not seem intererted in any feedback from paying customers. After talking to our waiter and getting a mundaine response we asked for the manager and kept getting told he is upstairs watching tv (how we laughed) he must have come down 4 more times after that just to make himself pints of beer from the bar and run upstairs again as i glared around the corner at him he never came to talk to us or the staff did not tell him. We paid and left swiftly and went to eat at The swan next door (as my wife was so hungry) i must say the service was amazing and the food was to die for we even had the owner ask if we were satisfied now that is how to run a business. Night and day to the green man. We will avoid the green man until the management changes or the young manager returns. A real shame.

We travel to London once/twice per year and stay near Denham village. We always eat/drink in The Green Man and have been very happy with the ambience and food. This is why we returned on 20th October. We had calves liver, Caesar salad, sausage and chorizo and kids fish gougons all of which were well cooked and delicious. It was so good we decided to return 2 days later on the 22nd, how disappointed was the experience. I ordered the fish pie, which had beautiful big pieces of fish in, but so salty. My partner had the calves liver that was so delicious on Friday but overcooked this time. My grandson had the fish gougons again, on Friday they were the size of a chunky fish finger and he had 4 of them, this time they were only as big as my finger, so were dry, plus he only was served 3 this time. Finally my daughter had leg of lamb Sunday dinner. The lamb was fatty and very chewy. She complained and the waitress took it back to the kitchen no questions, as if this had been complained about before! The lady on the next table then sent hers back. They brought a new dish for my daughter, the lamb was just as inedible. We gave up. You would not think that we were eating in the same pub as 2 days ago. We asked if it was a different chef and was told no.

Gutted we missed the roast Turkey!!!!!!! We had the lamb shank which was cooked to perfection, great mash too!!! But I wanted the Turkey but was too late. It was explained to us that it’s the first week they’ve served it, (normally serve chicken) and it sold out so quick and I could see why. We will be back for it. Service was unrushed and very attentive. Desserts were great too.

We ( me and my partner ) visited this cute little village pub in denham for the first time on Tuesday for dinner. The food was fantastic I would recommend the green man burger a fitting name. The staff were very friendly and funny and tryed to talk us into there Tuesday Quiz night. ..we could not belive how busy this pub quiz was it looked like the whole village was there. We did not join as to save embarrassing ourselves but maby next time. Great pub, great food, warm welcoming staff. I Would recommend visiting.

Went for lunch Wednesday with my partner and friends and got to say the food and service was first class, menu is well thought out with something for everyone,we had a missed bag as there was so much to choose from, we went for calves liver, pork belly and the mutton crumpet with pickled red cabbage and I’ve got to say the crumpet is one of the nicest things I’ve ever eaten. We were too full to have a dessert. But they also looked amazing!! Was nice to see the floor staff laughing and enjoying there job

Now I usually don’t make reviews however my recent visit has forced me to do so. Last time I was here with my family which was at the beginning of the year was amazing, food/service/ drinks everything was brilliant. I came back here last weekend for a lunch with my partner which was long overdue and wow it was a disaster. The staff looked miserable which made sense why they were all huddled behind the bar drinking away. Manager was quite rudely spoke which he is lucky as we are very patient people. Service was terribly slow even though it wasn’t that busy. The food come out luke-warm and for the price we were paying the quality felt like Wetherspoons food, ready made/ frozen microwaved food. It seems they’ve changed chefs as well as management which means another traditional English pub lost. Will not be returning

Nice covered large area in the back which was great for our large group. Food was fine, nothing to write home about. I had the sea bass & didn't think the combo was great (clementine salsa, with skin up fish on pickled cucumber, salty crab ball). The gents didn't enjoy the burger much. Cousins said the chicken sandwich & salmon salad were nice. Rhubarb crumble was enjoyable. Sticky toffee was very very dense, almost like a Christmas fruit pudding. Service was pretty poor from 1 person unfortunately - a gentleman server with salt & pepper hair in a black polo wasn't very kind & was a bit snippy to an elderly family member. Village is nice and the back area so I'd come back for a pint.
