Toby Carvery in South Bucks

The manager there at the Ugly Duckling to whom I spoke with yesterday over phone. Where a past Saturday I parked there and had a breakfast at the Toby Inn, though forgot to register my car where then I got a subsequent ticket. The member of staff I spoke with was very helpful and efficient to which was much appreciated. In getting the ticket cancelled he clearly is asset to the company!

We visited the Toby Carvery Denham on Saturday 10th May 2025 for a Boys' Brigade West London Battalion Dinner. 17 people in total. The Lady in charge of looking after us through out the evening was very helpful and understanding with a extra person turning up on the evening and an extra table having to be set up. The lady was always on hand to cater for our needs which ment the whole evening ran really smoothly. Paying the bill, per table for our meals with such a large group, was such a good idea and made the whole process less stressful for all. The food was lovely all the Staff within the restraunt were all very helpful and friendly, which made our evening such a happy and lovely event, as noted by the comments that i recieved from my fellow dinners, at the end of the evening. I was so pleased that i could say thank you to the lady at the end of the evening in person. We will definately be coming back next year. Thankyou, David Kingston Dinner Organiser. out of my expectation. really good roast dinner. staff is super friendly. and the price is affordable. quiet spot for conversation. worth to try if you wanna experience a basic roast dinner. value to money.

Walked out, people were laid on chairs and kids picking at the food. Obviously parents didn't care.

The staff are rude and ignore customers when they walk through the door, leaving them waiting by the entrance! Order food and drinks, still waiting for the drinks to arrive! The chefs look like they need a good shower! The vegetables are dried out and old looking! Massive queue with one chef carving and the 3 other chefs standing around doing not much. Will not be back!

Really enjoyed my visit to Toby Carvery! The roast was tasty, portions were big, and everything felt fresh. Loved the crispy Yorkshire pudding and the range of veggies. Staff were nice and the place had a cozy vibe. It was a bit busy when we went, so there was a short wait — but overall, great value and would happily go again!

Third visit , after grumpy manager first time, moody waitress second time -shambles on third visit. Kept running out of meats so waiting for fresh then ran out of wraps so ended with complimentary meals- nice recovery Toby

Stopped by to have lunch. Place was clean, friendly staff. Good affordable food in there. Has a room for private booking I saw. Garden seating available with lots of parking

Food.was great went for.easter Sunday was very busy felt great lovely people thank you dan for looking after us and our needs you do a awesome job especially at busy festive times and the lamb roast was amazing they don't usually have lamb i guess they have on.special occasions just like.easter Sunday

Went here for a duel birthday dinner. The waitress 'Nikki' was very good and managed to serve and do well handling 20 of us and making sure everyone was looked after! Food was alright to!

Out first trip to Toby Carvery and what a great experience. We were served by the lovely Nicki who was so friendly, attentive and helpful. She made our experience! Food was great too and helpful, we will definitely be back!

Turkey wasn't cooked. Peas were not cooked. The service from waiter Charlie was very good, he made our visit a really good one and was very welcoming, we could see him during his spare time cleaning everything even the menu's. A very hard working guy with exceptional great customer services, an asset to Toby Carvery.

Staff not particularly welcoming , take ages to take drinks order and failed to tell us we just help ourselves to the buffet .

This Toby is specially well organised and the presentation of food is great, however the space of the buffet is small and the service spoons get very hot. Not enough staff and the ones working on the floor tend to group around the bar to chat and use their phone...other than that it's cheap, good food and you can get your food rapidly.

We came to the Denham Toby on my daughters birthday, the staff were polite & welcoming when we came in, we were seated quickly & our server Katrina was very efficient in getting our drinks & making sure we were good throughout our meal. The only down side was the ice cream machine was out of order so the kids couldn’t have their preferred deserts but they had other sweets on the menu that were quite delicious. Would definitely go back !

We don't visit regularly but when we do it's always a great experience. Always well looked after and you know what your getting because it's written above the door. Keep up the good work

Really disappointing - waited 20 minutes for drinks order to be taken, poor choice of vegetables, cold potatoes and a further 20 minutes for a kids sausage meal.

Just enjoyed a delicious lunch at Toby Denham. We were looked after by a delightful young gentleman called Oscar who was polite attentive and very professional. His warmth and service made the experience excellent. Many thanks to Oscar and all the staff

Brought total wrong order didn’t bring desserts didn’t bring nothing correct

We came here as our main was fully booked and tbh we are dispointed. All the meats were dry 🤨 had to wait 10 mins there was hardly no veg out!!

We had a lovely evening at Toby Carvery this evening for my brother’s birthday meal. Our waitress Chloe kindly went above and beyond to prepare a gluten-free plate for my dad who is coeliac. Excellent customer service, thanks so much!

Staff are very friendly and polite Nicky especially was very helpful, wide selection of food, food was lovely Cooked to perfection, needed baby’s bottle to be cooled down lovely staff member brought over some ice water to cool it down he’s name was lucky ! Food was really nice got to desserts and everything was going great…. until I was 5 spoons into my cookie dough Sunday and bit into something hard considering the cookie dough and ice cream was as a soft as anything I immediately noticed something was wrong! Spat out the foreign object only to find it was a nail clipping. Absolutely mortified me and my family to be honest nobody ate the rest of their desserts for obvious reasons, was offered another one kindly declined. Didn’t feel satisfied with the servers attempt to have another one made. Received the bill with all the desserts on got a manager and told her about the situation she kindly took off the price for desserts but didn’t feel as though my trauma was addressed at all there was no urgency of compassion as to how this was acceptable or how it had been allowed to happen so for that I don’t think I will be back to Toby Carvery In Denham.

Usually I never have any issues in this local carvery. However a Sunday evening is the worst time to go. It was incredibly busy and the front of house staff were so rude when I asked about how long a table would be. Food is still good. Just soured the experience.

Terrible I didn’t finish dishing up the roasties needed another 40 minutes in the oven! The Yorkshire puddings was doughie. The macaroni was stone cold my child brought it bk over felt like was left in fridge. And sloppy the worse I been to wouldn’t serve it to my dog. The beef was all fat I had a plate full of fat as you can see in the picture

Party of four on saturday evening. Lovely helpful staff, delicious food, very reasonable prices, easy parking. What more could one want?

Service was a bit slow/absent but otherwise great food

dissapointing to be missing yorkshire puddings and gravy. Almost double the ETA quoted. on the plus side there was plenty of veg.

Ordered gammon and beef. There’s soo much for one person I had the carvery for one and there was enough to share . Lots of veg, and pot of gravy . Three roasties . Food was hot but not hot enough so I gave it a microwave. Food was tasty.

This was not the best Toby I have been to . It's quiet an ordinary experience here.

Went yesterday to find the kitchen closed. It closes at 8pm with no information on the website to tell you this. So waste of time. Tonight we booked a table for 7:20pm. Arrived to a guest outside saying the mash potatoes were dreadful and to avoid. Got to the reception to find they only had gammon. We don’t eat pigs as we had them as pets for years. We were told the chefs/staff had not cooked any more meat when told it was all running low. We went to look at the carvery before paying as advised; an almost finished dry looking gammon and the veg was all mostly empty or almost empty except for the full tub of mummified looking peas. A few horrid looking roast potatoes. Just all looked disgusting. We left and won’t be returning. I think ‘The Roast’ has lost its home!

My family went today (3 of us) today Saturday 8th March for Breakfast @ 09:30am. Very little selection available, no beans when I asked if they were coming out I was told by a cook that they had sold out. No scrabbled eggs. Only a few mushrooms and sausages in the pot. Hash browns hard. When we went to cook toast one side was barely cooked & they other nothing, turned over & put in again it came out burnt. All the food was cold, we barely ate it. Wish we hadn’t gone there, not only a waste of our time but also money £££. I would expect this sort of selection & colder food towards the end of the breakfast service but not at 09:30am. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, only people on 4 tables. Won’t go there again for breakfast, terrible.

No meet available for over an hour at the carving station. Over 3 hours for a family meal. Was the worst experience I’ve ever had eating out felt so understaffed.

Lovely breakfast, bacon was amazing

We booked a table, arrived 15 minutes early and walked out after nearly 2 hours having not eaten any food! The people in front of us had been queuing for 45 minutes. They prioritise take away orders and left the carving station unmanned constantly for 10 minutes or longer. Queues for the carvery were snaking through the restaurant and the waiting staff were constantly having to ask people to move. You are making enough money, employ another carver… Never again!

Came here for Sunday roast. Can't much complain. Food could be bitore hot (including my apple pie) coffe was just warm as well. But maybe is just me, liking my food piping hot 😅 Pancakes was a bit disappointing as we were expecting something bit bigger. Place was pretty busy, but people working around nice and polite .

Staff were wonderful we really enjoyed our time. My husband had a dizzy spell almost blacked out which was quite scary so we had to leave early but the staff were so accommodating, assisted me in calling an ambulance etc they were so nice. Last minute Toby Carvery dinner, we got seated quickly, one of our party had allergies, the waitress Nicky explained they have introduced new approach for people with allergies. They now cook everything separately and fresh for any guests with allergies she explained it would take longer so she sorted this first to ensure we could all eat at the same time. They were quite busy but it was organised however, no cutlery or napkins were on the table. The Carvery was well stocked however, it was not clear how the process worked there were 2 guys serving, were both preparing take away delivery orders at the same time as serving the main Carvery. I didn't have an issue with witing just not clear what the process was as they did not acknowledge we were waiting to be served. The slices of meat served on the plate were very thin, it appeared the guy was trying his best to ration the meat not sure why, I asked for more beef then changed my mind as the blood trickled down as he was carving the joint of beef, he was not happy and proceeded to remove the meat from my plate I asked for more Pork but this was an awkward request although granted. The meal was pleasant and most importantly hot. waitress checked that everything was okay with our meal, she was very busy but was very cheerful and helpful during our visit, we had desert chocolate orange sponge with custard and apple and plumb crumble one with ice cream and one with vegan custard they were ok. We were able to get 25% off our mains as they have a promotion this was helpful. 😊 Overall a pleasant evening.👌

Arrived here and our table wasn't ready the staff was friendly and the carvery was decent not the best Toby's I've visited by far

Righteous! Really lives up to its name. 3 different meats to choose from and also as much crackling as you can stomach. The food itself is great quality and cooked to perfection, but doesn't really stay hot under those lights. Staff are great, so helpful and courteous. Server on the carvery is witty, waiting staff are observant and vigilant. I'll defo be back again. Don't forget to register your car if you park there. The machines are right next to the Maitre d' so you can't avoid it and the signage is everywhere. If you're passing by and feeling hungry you won't be disappointed.

As soon as you enter the 'vibes' are of a warm cosy atmosphere, even though it is quite a large place. Families, children, and friends can be seen having a relaxed, fun time. The brightness of the place and not forgetting the excellent food and service add up to a very pleasant experience all round. Well done.

The bartender wearing the bolo tie and styling himself a mullet that served me on Saturday was absolutely incredible. He poured the best Guinness pints I’ve seen from any bartender that has served me before. Had a great laugh with him for the several hours I was there. This staff member was definitely worthy of Tobey. His customer service was amazing and I would definitely come again in the future. Gave him the tip he deserved.

Very busy carvery. I enjoyed a scrumptious dinner. Plenty to eat on your plate, it was stacked high like the Eiffel Tower. I ate cherry Bakewell pudding for dessert with custard. Loved the indulgence. Friendly staff. Free parking. Swift service. No complaints.

Useless place. After driving 30 minutes I arrive (by myself) at 5:45pm on a Thursday evening as a walk in to be told they’re “low on meat” and only accepting people who have booked. That’s like going to KFC and being told “there’s no chicken” or Pret and being told “we’ve run out of coffee”.

Food and service was excellent. Always impressed with their mid-week offers.

We travel 45-60 mins to this Toby for a reason. It’s the best one out of the 3 close to London. We were served by Charlie C during our recent visit and he was great! Impeccable customer service and a lovely lad! Food is great, staff are always lovely and everything always perfect!

Service with a smile from the waitress. Carvery...diabolical! Food was cold throughout with hints of warmth. Gravy, poor. Mashed potato, watery. Cauliflower cheese, watery. Carrots, dried out. Sadly had to call waitress to collect and remove from the table. Explained the above. Was offered to reheat it. Uh...no thanks because it tastes awful also. Was offered to choose an alternative from the menu. Refused. Not wasting time or money here based on what I just tried. Very disappointing

Poor choice very basic breakfast. No one there on arrival had to hunt around for staff. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. What was served taste good. Advised free drinks for kids online not it restaurant.

Visited for breakfast and have zero complaints. Food was hot and delicious, I went up twice and it was refreshed in between, both servings tasted equally as good. Bacon and eggs were done just right and seasoned perfectly, not all dry, hard or crispy which is often a fault I find with places that serve breakfast. 5 out of 5!

Good service. The lady that served us was great. Not the best atmosphere, untidy car park, beer glasses left outside, general mess in the car park. The chef that served us was nice too. Food was good.
