We come here quite often, for special occasions, birthdays etc. Today, I had quite literally one of the best steaks, I've ever had. Period. The chef deserves a massive raise! It was cooked perfectly. Starters (calamari, koftas and camebert) and drinks all came out hot, promptly and were all scrumptious! Mains (steaks, chicken supreme tagliatelle, pie and burger) were all fantastic! So stuffed, couldn't manage dessert, but thank you so much! Hats off, Palmers Arms has done it again!!

A lovely local english pub! Great access for parking. Outdoor seating is plenty and very comfortable. Playground for the 7+yo kiddies, and chickens for the younger kids. Food was absolutely delicious, and super quick! Service was attentive and friendly. A plate we ordered was forgotten, and they swiftly arranged it and took the cost off the bill! I recommend the Palmer Ale!

Went for a Sunday lunch with the family, 7 of us in total. There was plenty of indoor space. Would recommend booking in advance to guarantee a table and location is very popular. Parking is the only weakness here, there is parking, but it can get full very quick and you may end up parking on the road. There are plenty of accessibility for the place in garden and restaurant. The restaurant space was clean and well presented, the staff are very helpful, polite and professional at all times even during though service was busy. The Sunday roast are must have, reasonable price.for a lot good food and a whopper of Yorkshire pudding. Kids meals are good size too. Didn't have dessert. Bar is small but it is mostly there serve for the restaurant needs however if you do go to bar to get served the wait is never long and service was prompt from what I saw and experience

We arranged a celebration with the pub via email which they confirmed very quickly. When we arrived they had reserved a large area in the garden for us, they were happy for us to put up decorations & balloons and offered lots of help. Gareth the manager on duty was fantastic, answering all our questions & doing his best to help us with queries & constant drinks orders! The entire team were brilliant and I’d highly recommend a visit. Drinks are reasonably priced & the food we ordered was delicious (especially the quesadillas!). Thank you so much for your hospitality - it was much appreciated!

We held a private function in the garden, raising money for Dementia UK, the Pub and staff couldn't do enough to help support us. They made there own donations and went above and beyond collecting around the rest of the pub. The venue is ideal for families and large groups, everyone was friendly and engaging, with an outside space perfect for what we needed, with space for the children to play at the back. Food was delicious which was no easy task considering they catered for over 100 people and still functioned to the highest standards. 10 out of 10, one of the best pubs I have been too. 22nd June 2024 A delightful 15th century pub set in the beautiful Village of Dorney in Windsor. There is a huge rear garden ideal for parties and numerous functions, together with ample seating at the front. The service is excellent and staffed by a friendly and enthusiastic team. Offering a good selection of beers and ciders, this little country gem is a 'must stop' if you're passing through this picturesque village. I've been encouraged to make a return visit to try their Sunday roasts which I'm really looking forward to sometime soon. The pub also offers on site parking which is also adequately suited for disabled Patrons.

A stone’s throw from Eton and Windsor. Quaint villages on the way there from London, if you come off the M4 early at Datchet. Lovely pub garden. Decent Sunday lunch. Good quantities. Bit sparse in the gravy department. Shocking price for a half of cider, though 😱. Very fast and cheery service, despite being quite full. Very dog friendly, even allowing them indoors. Getting my dates wrong meant that my lovely hubby & I enjoyed an impromptu meal at The Palmer Arms. Excellent service, genteel atmosphere, great food. I have an intolerance to wheat & often find that I my menu choices are quite limited. Not so The Palmer Arms, much of their menu is available as gluten-free alternatives. All I'd advise is that even with the Prawn Cocktail, gently toast the bread, the heat prevents the bread from crumbling & further enhances the experience. Thanks for a great evening x x

Went for a light bite on Saturday afternoon with my daughter. We asked for a table for two and the male server (who hardly even acknowledged us) showed us to a table, plonked the menus down and just walked away. There was lettuce all over the floor which he didn't even attempt to clean up, he just left us to it. I had my dog with me and didn't really want him sitting in a pile of lettuce so I asked another server if it could be cleaned up. We ordered two sandwiches, one BLT, and one roast fillet of beef sandwich. When the sandwiches arrived I noticed a slightly funny smell on my beef sandwich. I wasn't too sure if maybe something was slightly off so I opened it up, the meat seemed ok so not wanting to cause a scene in front of my daughter I had a bite. It just didn't taste right, possibly even a little mushy. To be honest, I left it and didn't even bother complaining (even though I should have). I was so annoyed, I just paid up and we left. Looking back however I should have said something because if that was my daughter eating that I would have been furious.

We have recently moved nearby and had been a couple of times for nice meals, and as our Christmas plans ended up, we decided to go for the Christmas Dinner (promoted for Christmas Eve and Boxing day as well as Christmas Day on their website festive menu as including crackers etc) after our Christmas Eve church service. Booked well in advance, arrived to very busy (of course), terrible table despite well in advance booking, nothing festive on the table or music, no staff acknowledged anything festive like "Merry Christmas" or indeed hardly acknowledged us. Server bought us a regular menu - we said we booked for the festive menu. She said we don't serve the festive menu on Sundays. What? Remember this is promoted on the website and we had booked specifically mentioning this. After some time away, she came back with ONE festive menu for the four of us - didn't have any others. So odd. Certainly no crackers:-) We all chose the festive menu and it was absolutely bland and tasteless in every course and all the variations. Bizarre. They do very good roasts there every Sunday so no idea why the Christmas dinner was so flat. Portions tiny - one small potato cut into two pieces, tiny piece of Christmas pudding. I had apple crumble - literally no flavor in the apple, crumble or custard. Utterly strange. We haven't usually gone out at Christmas but for scheduling reasons we did a Christmas Dinner on Boxing Day at the Wheatsheaf in Lower Woodford a couple of years ago, and it was fantastic in all regards. So it's possible ... I don't know what to make of it because our other experiences there have been very good, but this one was quite unacceptable. I definitely don't recommend for a Christmas family outing.

The ciabatta’s were smaller than before and my wife’s the top didn’t match the bottom. My sausages were well well cooked but had no taste and the sauce was the only pleasing factor. As a whole we think the pub was very very busy so they concentrated on the clientele and takeaways were a side order. Will try again but hope they are not so busy

We had a table booked for 12.30pm and when we were seated we were told that they would need the table back by 3pm, which I don't have a problem with but the way we were told felt like even though we still had 2hrs 30, we needed to hurry up. The young girl who brought us our drinks and the lady who served our food were both very nice and friendly. The food was nice. No complaints there at all. After finishing our meals we were asked if we would like dessert and after looking at the menus we decided not to but we were still drinking. The waitress came over a few minutes later and asked if we wanted more drinks and when we said no she told us she would bring the bill! It was still only about 1.30pm (the food had come out very quickly after we ordered) It gave the impression of 'pay and get out'. We had gone to meet up with family that we hadn't seen for a long time and we probably would have ordered more drinks and stayed a bit longer but instead we felt our time was up and so we left. Other members of staff we were very kind and friendly but unfortunately our waitress wasn't that way.

Visited for the 1st time yesterday. Lovely place, good place for the kids with a play area, however could improve on a few things. One of our drinks was missing and we had to ask 3 different staff members to get if. Then one of the kids meals was missing too. At the end we were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu, to which we said yes and instead we got the bill, so we went for dessert somewhere else. Staff are polite but could be a bit more friendly, but I get it, it was very busy. On one occasion, my husband took our toddler to the rest room, and when asking for the key the staff member looked at him, turned her back and left. Food is OK, not amazing. A little disappointed with the quality of the pork on the Sunday roast, however the Yorkshire pudding was amazing.

Such a busy place. As soon as a table became empty it was promptly filled. The staff were definitely busy but all had a smile on their faces and the service was great. The food was tasty and well presented.

Nice little classic tea rooms. We had sandwiches along with tea and coffee. Followed by a nice peice of cake. Lady serving was very nice and prepared good food in nice time.

Top place for a carvery. We come here frequently. Staff are really lovely and it's a nice atmosphere, unlimited soft drinks are well worth it. Lots on offer but be careful booking a table late in the evening as there's a higher chance they'll run out of meat. Heartbroken you've taken the dauphinoise potato/hot pot dish off the carvery. Please bring it back! My only complaint is needing to get the drinks on the table a bit quicker. We're often still waiting for them after having already started our meals. Lots of discounts and deals available if you sign up to their mailing list or download the app so that's worth doing too.

Many thanks to Elisha for all her help with the reservation and the superb customer service provided by her. Food was delicious and the service in the Astor grill was one of the best we have had."

I didn’t try the food, but it looked great. I’ll definitely be returning soon to give it a try
