Nice cute local place. Pleasant atmosphere with the regular locals coming and going. We ordered a single pot of tea and a single scone with Jam. Cost £11. The scone was warm and fresh but too crumbly for my liking. Felt the price was a little steep. Judge for yourself based on the picture

Wow, what a charming slow paced tea room. A small, well formed menu of homemade baps, sandwiches and scones. The homemade sourdough baps made using a carefully looked after 8 year old starter are miles above any sourdough we’ve ever tasted. Seating for few, but complete menu can be taken away. The lovely lady who owns the tea room was so friendly. Wish we lived closer, as we would be here every weekend! Ps, every customer who left was praising the quality of their meal on the way out 👍🏼

Such a cute little tea shop! Stopped in for a coffee this morning on our way to see the registrar. The lattes were delicious and we literally had the best flapjack we have ever tasted in our lives. A chewy caramel base with soft buttery oats on top. I’d go back just for that. The nice lady working there was also very welcoming. Thanks for brightening up our morning.

The lady who owns the tea house is friendly and charming . You’ll potentially have to wait @ 20 minutes for food and drinks as there aren’t too many staff here, however, the food is all freshly prepared and is of excellent quality, the cakes and pastries are divine and the sandwiches are well filled. The coffee was outstanding too. This is a place to come when you have some time to relax and enjoy, just don’t expect to be in and out within 15minutes like a chain coffee shop!

Came here to cheer my Nan up on my late grandad's birthday. Unfortunately wish we'd gone elsewhere. Everything had to be paid for as you ordered, so everytime you wanted to add something you had to pay again and that meant waiting each time. There was only a menu board at the front so once we sat down i had to get up again and repeat it all out to my nan. Then other customers were standing in front of it etc, really badly placed! We had 2 pots of tea. I asked for a 3rd cup when my sister joined us so that we wouldn't have to wait for another pot of tea, and the lady practically snapped by head of "No! We don't do that here! If you want another tea you'll have to pay for it" so i bought another pot (which we would have done anyway, I just wanted a cup then for the tea we already had) 10 minutes later, still no cup, or tea. Had to remind lady. "Oh I was going to bring it out with the sandwiches" (which were taking an awful long time) so I was sat there by now for 25 minutes with no drink because she refused to give us an extra cup. Just ridiculous, and no customer service whatsoever. What happened to being polite?!! Was going to have cake but decided to leave and go elsewhere. Slow, unfriendly service on what was an emotional day for us as a family.

We had a bacon with avocado sandwich all sandwiches are served with a small salad and a few crisps on the side but it's more than enough me and my daughter shared this. We had hot chocolate which was really nice with marshmallows and cream and two scones with clotted cream the scones tasted really fresh and the jam tasted homemade. The only thing I would say that needs some attention is the I know it's called the old tea room but still could do a little bit more modernization and comfort.

SHOCKING! Cheap nasty cafe with terrible service, HUGELY over priced basic menu (nothing special) disgusting attitude from young girl who could only communicate in a Neanderthal / grunting / ah-huh "whatever" attitude. Plastic table covers, laminated menus, most tables small and huddled around beams. We were told to sit anywhere but space was limited and the decent sized table reserved "just in case". £6 for a basic bacon sarni. Go to the Green Grocer in old Amersham (I confirm I am not linked to any catering business) where you get deli style food for less with outstanding service and modern not 70s decor. By the way why not call yourself a tea BAG room, dozens of choices of tea bags but only one green, one (cheap but over priced Earl Grey) and Yorkshire tea? REALLY!?!? If you want loose leaf afternoon tea also consider the Lady Grey tea room in Wendover and visit the antiques centre whilst there. WE WALKED OUT IN DISGUST

My Wife and I visited some two weeks ago on a Saturday lunchtime. It was apparent that as soon as we walked through the door the Tea Room was dis-organized and very busy. Young waiting staff who did not appear to have much of an idea of how to take the orders correctly and in order. The owner/Manager was in residence and was not doing a good enough job at sorting out what orders were next and in what sequence. We ordered a toasted sandwich, jacket spud, tea & coffee. We waited 28 minutes for this order to be served and it finally appeared long after other customers who entered the tea room had received their orders Although the waitress apologised for the delay and knew we were unhappy at the way our order had been dealt with the Owner/ Manager did not offer and apology and never came near us to listen to our compliant. We finished our food and drink and approached the owner to discuss the bill and our unhappiness, to her credit she said " have this one on me" but we said we would be prepared to pay a contribution. We were not nasty in any way shape or form, just considered and calm. The owner then took a very robust turn for the worst by saying "get out and don't come back" That is something we were not prepared for and shocked at this course of action. I notice other people seemed to have had a problem with this owner when looking at other reviews people have posted. It is such a shame as we have visited this tea room many times before over the years and not had a problem, but it now seems we will not be setting foot in this tea room ever again. I think the owner needs to learn some manners and what the value of "good customer. service" means. I work in customer service and fully know and understand the importance and value of it. So I hope those of you who decide to venture across the threshold have a better experience and you catch the owner on a good day when they value what business they have.

Lot of potential but a let down. Ordered eggs and bacon and 2 plates of pancakes. That was £32 with tea. That's steep for breakfast. Wanted to share a pot of tea but was told its priced for 1. Ok, fair. Our 4 yo wanted a sip of tea but I had a cold so asked for a fresh cup. Was told I will have to order separate drink for her. Slow service. Not very generous portions considering the price. Shame as the potential is greater. They were turning away customers through lack of space, so should speed up and get more people through the doors. Maybe the increased volume of sales would then mean they could spare more than half a teaspoon of chutney on each jacket potato. Also, why only fried eggs? I asked if scrambled might be possible and got a flat "no" from the unsmiling teenage waiting staff.

Though the food was excellent and well-cooked, to wait 55 minutes for a club sandwich, and a roast beef sandwich was absurd. We popped in today for lunch having not visited for several years. Our sandwiches took over 15 mins- I had checked time when we arrived. The only orders ahead of us seemed to be 2 takeaway sandwiches and a pot of tea. After the wait I had great expectations - sadly not translated into reality. The sandwiches were not impressive ad the 5 crisps (counted as they looked so lonely) and very limp side salad did little to enhance them, not worth the fairly high sandwich price. The table next to us needed clearing when we arrived and was in the same state when we left 40 minutes later by which time two more needed clearing. The owner/manager did very little so no surprise the wait staff followed her lead. I suggest going to the small place on the roundabout where we went yesterday and had great sandwiches at a lower price.

I went there with four other people yesterday to have a quick coffee before going to the Coroners Court nearby. As we walked in it was almost an invasion of a private drinking club and we got the feeling the locals didn't like outsiders in there. We were given a table by the waitress and at the time there was a "Reserved" sign on it. A couple of minutes later we were asked to move by a grumpy old dear who I suspect was the manager. We were moved to a crappy old table with folding leaves and a plastic tablecloth. We went to this restaurant for lunch with some friends. The place is beautiful, with a pleasant atmosphere and excellent service. However, the price-quality ratio of the food is not balanced. The dishes are good, but nothing outstanding, especially considering the high prices. You're paying more for the ambiance than for the quality of the food.

The Toby carvery is going down hill, for the past 3-4wks there hasn't been any lamb. The staff serving the meat all hide in the kitchen, all staff look like that they don't want to be there. Asked for our cutley only to be ignored so we helped ourselves. This is our local Toby carvery but looks like we will have to find somewhere else.

I didn’t try the food, but it looked great. I’ll definitely be returning soon to give it a try
