Great food and drink. Excellent service too

First and last time went with the family not friendly or welcoming waiting well over half hour so expected food to be hot witch it was not chips cold steak over cooked asked for no peas as my son is allergic very disappointed

The pub is nice and always clean with great service from the staff who are very friendly. The pub has good food if you’re in the area and plenty of alcoholic or un- alcoholic beverages, so you won’t be struggling to find what you want to drink. Also a great place for families and dog owners.

We had the valentine offer earlier tonight, 2 steaks and a lovely bottle of Rioja. The steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare and the atmosphere was brilliant, as well as the waiting staff. A candlelit meal and cosy fires all around highly recommend and will definitely be going back!

We go to the Robin frequently for drinks and occasionally eat there. We ate there last night and had 2 sirloin steaks which were cooked to our liking. With our steak we enjoy French mustard, but you only had English mustard. The last time we had to endure Dijon but to have no French mustard when offering steaks is inexcusable. Please, please make French mustard available even if it is in sachets. it isn't a lot to ask!!

We allways enjoy visiting the Robin Hood, an excellent range of beers and the food is very good. We love the cosy atmosphere the fires are brilliant.

Food here was absolutely amazing! You can taste the love, passion, energy and freshness. Definitely eating here again! Service staff are super friendly. Vicky was super and she recommended alcohol free beverages to me (as i was driving) and did not disappoint. The atmosphere is very energetic and clean. Would give more stars but 5 is the limit. 🤩

Came last night for a family meal. We didn't book but Vicki managed to find us a table. She also explained the ember inns app. The atmosphere was great. We was informed of the wait on food which we expected on a busy Friday night. Was worth the wait. Had the grilled seabasd fillets. Amazing dish. Thank you vicki and the team. Visited Robin Hood at Millhouses yesterday, 17th Jan, 2025. We were both served by two of the Staff, Vicky and Harry. Both of them were very polite, helpful and friendly. All in all it made it a pleasure to be there. Lovely pub, clean and tidy.

Came for a meal and a drink tonight and it was pretty busy! Everything was really good and Emma and Sophie were rushed off their feet tonight non stop but still stayed smiley and happy to help!

Went in this pub on the 7th of January. You would think the staff would be jaded from Xmas, quite they opposite they were all very helpful and pleasant, especially Vicky. All round good evening thanks.

I visited the pub on Wednesday evening and it was such a lovely experience! I was served by Sophie who gave me some good recommendations on what to order and was really helpful and friendly ☺️ Would definitely come back again!

Love it here! Came for a meal and a few drinks and Vicky recommended some alcohol free options as I was driving but still wanted to enjoy the pub experience. Vicky was very friendly and approachable and then left us to enjoy our meal in peace.

There is a lovely team working here, our table had been reserved and we arrived earlier than booked but that wasn't an issue. The dinner for all three of us was excellent and my Sea Bass were cooked to perfection

Really good food - something for everyone including a picky little one & gf options on the glass onion app. Rump steaks particularly good - medium was as pink as it should be - and the gravy was incredible. Great service and lunch well priced for the quality. Very chill vibe on a Saturday afternoon - nice fires and not too noisy. Lots of tables reserved but helpfully with the time included - smart! Will definitely be back 👍👍👍

Having had many nice meals at the Robin hood, l was so upset by my Christmas diner ,on christmas day x l didnt complain as my daughter had arranged if and didnt want to upset her . The Christmas diner was awful . I had inedible greens , including 3 sprouts in total that l couldnt even get my fork into the cabbage was raw , The other veg ,little as there was ,was ok , roast potatoes were ,what looked like tinned potatoes that had been put in the roasting tin. I pig in blanket and a measly sliver of stuffing . NOT worth the money x And who gets christmas pudding on a tea plate , having to chase around the custard with a spoon .Maybe that was the Party game . Something l was looking forward to is a bad memory ..

We were here for a wake unfortunately, found the decor very pleasant service time for being served was slow and not very friendly and there wasn’t and information on allergies for the buffet. The daughter of the deceased wanted to get everyone attention to raise a toast for her Dad, and in doing so a member of the staff unnecessarily shouted at her I’m a manager that was not justified and was rude and and cold. This was unpleasant and quite shocking considering the nature of the event taking place and had a profound impact on a grieving family

My third Festive Meal here, sadly at lunchtime on the 18th December 2024 staffing was clearly an issue. Just 2 staff covering the bar and service of food, needed 3 minimum, preferable 4 and because of this service was slow. Dried onion on the Prawn Cocktail was vile and ruin the flavour of the prawns, the portion was also smaller than on my previous visit which didn't have the dried onions on it. Why do it?? The Turkey Dinner was lovely but lukewarm on arrival because of the slow service. We had 3 non matching crackers, one was a reusable one which contained nothing and no snap?? I overheard the waitress say to another customer that they had run out of crackers!!!! Sadly from my 1st to the 3rd meal, standards have slipped.

Had the 3 course for £21.99. The food was tasty and a great price. Nice clean venue.

I visit regularly with my friend, usually Friday night and it is always exceptional. We receive great, friendly service, even if we're only in for Friday Fizz!! The food is good with great choice. The decor is very nice and looking forward to the new outdoor area. Also enjoy the quiz on Sunday.

20 of us went for a meal last night and it was smashing. The staff were very friendly, food was hot with warm plates and very good. We would highly recommend for a Christmas party/ meal.

Favourite place in Millhouses Best menu, service, atmosphere, beer, decor, prices of all pubs in this area. Also nice to sit outside on a summer’s day. Always popular for lunch (I haven’t been in later than that to be honest). As yet!

This was our first time eating here having previously been in once for drinks. We all (4) had a Sunday dinner and dessert using their 2 course offer. The food was delicious and decent portions. We had seats by the fire on a wet, chilly day which was nice and ordering through the app meant we didn't need to leave the table. Service was friendly and quick. Everywhere was clean and inviting. Love the fact that they allow dogs in too! 🐶🧡 Will definitely be back another day.

Just popped in to see my niece who works there. Never been in there before, looks lovely inside ,warm ,cosy, a great place for a catch up with friends and family. I saw some of the meals coming out from the kitchen, wow...looked really appealing. Looking forward to trying g it out soon. Can't rate it yet otherwise. But when I've been and sampled their fair, I'll do it.

Been coming here for several years now, the staff are so welcoming and helpful. Love spending our Wednesday evenings here having a meal and doing the quiz, even though we fail to win most weeks.

The food they serve is simply disgusting. No other way to put it. If anyone from Robin Hood is reading this please look up felafel on YouTube. What you serve is not felafel, it's a sticky snut. Otherwise it's a nice place, but please stop serving food

Friendly staff, great pints if busy the food can take a little while (no massive shock but be prepared) but good solid pub grub .

It's okay. But it seemed odd that my 16 year old wasn't allowed a alcoholic drink with a meal in here, yet everywhere else its fine and the law....👎🏼

Haven't been in here in 20 years but it's typical Ember Inns to the point you could be in The Rising Sun on Abbey Lane or The Sportsman on Benty Lane. And I like both of those pubs. The Robin Hood is warm, welcoming and reliable for food and drink. About to relocate to Millhouses so I'll be paying more visits. I like familiarity. UPDATE 22.06.24 It's even nice following the recent refurb. Cracking little beer garden to the rear.

Tomé una ensalada de tocino de pollo y aguacate por alrededor de £ 11. 50 ; el pollo estaba seco y frío; el tocino era sabroso pero seco y frío. El aguacate era agradable y maduro, pero toda la ensalada era muy sosa y decepcionante. El bocadillo de filete abierto de mi compañero (alrededor de £ 10 ) , filete estaba frío que no se podía masticar, como un trozo de cuero. Punto brillante sus papas estaban sabrosas. ¿Es pedir demasiado para obtener buena comida a un precio razonable?

Conocí a un amigo para almorzar el lunes. Pedí sopa que dejó mucho que desear. Un Oxo habría sido mejor. Tuve Calamari. Batter estuvo genial. Calamari no era descriptiva. Un mal día pensé ya que he disfrutado de las comidas allí durante muchos años. Luego recordé que tenía pescado con papas fritas, no lo disfruté. Lubina a la parrilla con papa y lanzas de espárragos. Ahora cambió los espárragos por lanzas de brócoli. Esta noche he pedido salchichas y puré de patatas con salsa de cebolla. Comí 2 salchichas que no sabían a nada más que la salsa que no tenía cebolla en ella y ninguna verdura en absoluto. Obviamente no me gusta comer en su establecimiento de nuevo, pero seguiré yendo como el ambiente, el personal es excelente. Me aseguraré de comer antes de venir

Today, the pub finds itself as part of the Embers Inns chain. As such its former character and charm have been swept away in favor of bland, generic decor and mediocre service. The biggest crime perhaps is that the equivalent has been allowed to take place in the kitchen. In previous iterations of this establishment, diners could have been assured that the Sunday Roast would be an experience to be savoured with high quality ingredients, well-cooked and served alongside fresh Yorkshire Puddings being the order of the day. The Roast I was served recently, however, fell short of this high bar. The meats were okay, but that is as close as I can come to a compliment. The microwaved veg was bland and served too hot. The "crispy" roast potatoes were dry, cold, and hard on the inside yet soft on the outside. The frozen Yorkshire Pudding was an insult to the county where the pub is located and served cold. I'd comment on the gravy if I'd been given enough to taste it. My criticism does not go quite so far as to say I wouldn't have served the meal to a dog. However, I easily could have as our table was surrounded by these animals straying from close-by groups and barking and yapping sufficiently to annihilate what little was left of the atmosphere. In all, a poor experience I do not recommend and one that I will not be repeating.

First time in this pub today and I’ll definitely be back. We were met by our lovely server Vicky, who helped us find a seat and went through the whole menu with us, was nice to be helped by someone so cheerful she made us all smile. We went with posh fish and chips this time but will be exploring more of the menu next time as we will be frequent visitors now. The pub also looks amazing and welcoming exactly what you’re wanting when going into a pub setting. 10/10 from us.

Have been coming to the Robin Hood for over 20 years now and have to say the place the best it has ever been. The refit looks wonderful and seating much more accommodating and has a really lovely feel to it. I visit with my adult son every Thursday night and the service is always impeccable. Most weeks we have been served by Ruth. What a fantastic example of someone who loves their job and really cares about the customers and her service. She is non stop and a real gem for any workplace team to be lucky enough to have. To be honest - all the staff are knowledgeable, friendly efficient and work hard. Watching them up and down the restaurant serving they must do thousands of steps a day! The two lovely younger ladies with blonde hair are also fabulous. A really great team who obviously work well together and it really shows. This will always be my favourite “go to” pub for good classic pub food, value for money, lovely atmosphere and superb service all round. First time I've been to this pub, the staff where lovely, the decor was perfect for my taste, the food was the best I have ever had in a pub and most restaurants, more remarkable the gents toilets smelt fresh and clean 😁

Called for Sunday lunch - walked past many times - sadly all food was frozen potatoes cold , but very tasty still didn’t feel it was fault to complain as it was just so for £12 feely light on gravy and gravy also cold although wasn’t very busy so maybe that’s why ! Gammon very good 👍🏻 service was good some staff better than others drinks good too and good music playing , very clean juts a shame about the food being frozen when it does state fresh veg.

Great pub friendly staff with good service and I can take my dogs - Prosecco great price at £14 and pub grub very reasonable prices - I enjoyed the chicken bacon and avocado salad!

Great place, lovely staff. I must say I consider myself to be quite a connoisseur when it comes to full English breakfast. I’ve tried most places but this always comes out tops. The taste is so fresh, the sausages and bacon nicely grilled, eggs perfect and the butter is second to none. Why 4 stars?? Only because it’s usually barely warm, so ask for it to be hot or at least warm the plates, maybe would be a good idea to go back to pots for the beans. Saying that you would have to go far to get something as nice and so reasonably priced although I wish they would do a small breakfast as 2 of everything is a bit much for some people.
