Fantastic beer garden, spacious, well maintained and surrounded by woodland. The food was great including the kids meals. Plenty of choice for drinks with very helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely be going more often. Well worth a visit.

Visited this place for a meal for the first time since the new landlord, Gary, took over (3 months ago). Unfortunately it hasn't got any better - worse if anything. Still no friendly welcome or smile from any of the staff, including the landlord; the kitchen wanting to close early; and apparently a kids meal isn't a kids meal unless you specifically ask for it. The meal comes with a drink and dessert for an extra £1, but because we didn't specifically ask for that when ordering they wanted to charge us an extra £5 to buy them separately. Given nowhere else operates like this I'd have expected a friendly "would you like the meal option" when ordering, or a friendly "sorry for the confusion, let's sort that out for you". But there's nothing friendly about this place at all! Recommendation - do yourself a favour and frequent the Castle or Crown instead.

After a recent refurbishment inside and out, this pub is the perfect family local. Food has improved vastly and landlord is very attentive. Dog friendly, children friendly, great local

Great local pub with a decent selection of beers and good food. Big beer garden at the back, good parking. The landlord is very friendly and accommodating, going ABCD to make the visit a pleasant experience.

What a fantastic local this is. The new landlord is a pleasure to talk to and always makes time for you. I've left the food at 0** as I've not tried the food yet but if it tastes as good as it looks when it comes out of the kitchen then there'll be no problems here.

We had a family wake and the service - staff - manager - and food were all excellent, kept in touch regarding the arrangements and offered to accommodate anything else we may needed even rang the day before to confirm. Their attentiveness on the day was just perfect. Thank you

Was a very lovely and chilled experience for myself and my girlfriends while having a spot of lunch. Staff were very polite and friendly. And food was so tasty. Will definatley be going back.

Since new management has taken over the Shepley has improved ten folds. Food is great and service is nice and speedy. Would definitely recommend coming on a nice hot day to enjoy the beer garden too!

What can we say we had a party booked to say a final farewell to my mother in law. Every aspect of what was requested had been delivered and more. Gary and his team were fantastic in every way. The spread was out of this world. Fresh, plentiful and superb value for money. Thank you Gary and the team we will see you again soon.

The Shepley has become a fresh looking, warm, and welcoming pub. It's walls are dorned with the pubs history, a smashing new dartboard, beautiful chairs and tables. The food was amazing, fresh, piping hot, and real value for money. Staff were really lovely. Gary was seen wiping tables, chatting to folks, and then he hosted the quiz (every Thursday). Me and my friend have decided the Shepley is now our goto pub for a meal and a catch-up. Nice one Team ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Popped in to nosy at the renovation it's not changed massively as it's always been a nice pub . The garden area is lovely so we sat outside .The barstaff were very friendly and chatty also helpful food was nice all in all worth a visit .

We live locally, and went to check out the improvements, having booked a table . Very disappointed ! We found a table and waited 25 minutes, in which time nobody even came to see if we wanted any drinks. Hardly anyone in , so no buzz . We assumed that the wait for food would be equally slow, and after a few more minutes we left and went to a local Carvery, There used to be some beautiful palms at the entrance , but they were put in a skip, apparently. The outside area looked as if all the money was spent there. We need a good "local ".

Myself and my Partner went a few months ago and were greated very nicely. service was good staff was nice till it came to the food, the food was not at all nice and we said that never again, we then found out that it had a full refurb so my Partner said come on lets try them once more give them a chance so off we went on Friday 24th May 2024. service again good staff good and friendly, but FOOD no still same very POOR and would not recommend to anyone. Partner had Rump steak you didn't even get mushrooms with it or any other trimmings with it the steak was like cutting into RUBBER bands. I had The Pie, Mashed Potatos and broccoli, gravy all was ok until it came to the meat in the pie that was very fatty.

Assistant manager Dean is outstanding, just executed some fantastic customer service! Empty glasses collected and tables kept clean constantly. A great community pub with great staff. Couldn’t ask for more on our doorstep.

Fantastic beer garden, been a couple of times since the refurbishment already. First for a relaxing post work pint & again for their live music event featuring Indigo where it was certainly a more livelier atmosphere. The new landlord, Gary was very welcoming & devilered a great service. Will definitely be going again, especially when the Euros are on!

I stopped by the Shepley Spitfire in Sheffield recently and was impressed by the fresh new look after its refurb! The place is looking great, with a modern and welcoming atmosphere. I tried the brunch sandwich and it was delicious! The food was well-presented and tasted amazing. The service was also friendly and attentive. It’s clear that the team at Shepley Spitfire have put a lot of effort into the refurb and it’s paid off. I’d definitely recommend this spot for a tasty brunch or a casual meet-up with friends. Well done, guys!

Attended this pub on Saturday with my elderly parents and two young children (under 6) for something to eat and to also attend their kids Halloween party. What started as a lovely afternoon with guest appearances from Ken and Barbie (which my daughter loved) soon turned to a nightmare firstly a group of teenage girls started screaming foul language at everyone then a couple of tables of adults who’d clearly had too much alcohol started to argue amongst each other with one lady screaming that she will do more than spit in someone’s food, obviously a member of staff as she was seen going behind the bar. This comment was obviously unnerving as we had just eaten there. We left pretty sharp ish and will not be returning 😡

Member of staff threatened to spit in customers food during a disagreement , lots of shouting and screaming. Not professional.

I wish this were our local! Sunday, our son had a football match then we decided to have a pub lunch, the Spitfire was suggested. Everything was to our liking: food, cleanliness, low-level music and friendly hosts. Our choices were steaks and chef's beef stew special + desserts. Ace!

Myself Karen and partner Steve went to Shepley Spitfire Saturday 26th Aug 2023 was greeted by the lovely Kirsty the service was brilliant and was made to feel very welcome. The food was great nice and hot and you got plenty the choice of desserts was good and a generous amount aswell. The place was very clean. It was our 1st time at Shepley and Spitfire but we can't wait to go again. Everything was 1st class service from beginning to end. See you at the weekend Kirsty 😊 (Come everyone give it a try you wont regret it)

We went for my sons birthday so there was quite a large party. Our table was all ready on arrival. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Our waitress was lovely. And the food was lovely too. We all really enjoyed it

Had an extremely busy day so called in for a drink and a bar snack. What a great atmosphere. Decided to go for the mushroom tortellini. I live with a family of vegitarians, vegans and other dilatory needs so mushroom wasn't enough. The Chef dressed it with strips of beef that were cooked to perfection. I am so glad I cancelled the bar snack and I cannot believe that I had an almost Michelin star meal in what, from the outside looks like a really nice run of the mill pub. Thank you guys. Absolutely incredible. After all that food I need to sleep. Not had a meal with so much flavour for many, many years incredible

A great starting point and end for our hike to get a drink. We had asked to book a table and asked if we'd be able to get food and they ensured us that we could but when we arrived after our long hike they'd already stopped serving food due to it being a quiet day! Understandable but a little disappointing when we were looking forward to a pub lunch at the end Dog friendly inside and out though which is a huge bonus!

Brilliant afternoon of music, food & sport.

Nestled a lot closer to Dronfied and Sheffield than I thought this is a great boozer with a good outdoor space and rooms for drinking and dining inside. Whilst we had an issue with our food on the day, this was well dealt with by the manager. Good variety of drinks on offer and the perfect stopping point of a long dog walk (dog friendly, lots of bowls of water visible)

We love dining in the Spitfire, not only is it beautifully decorated, the atmosphere is always so pleasant and the staff are always there to serve you with a smile. The food never fails to be a delicious meal, can’t wait to return again!!

Visited after a walk with friends, was on the way back. Got there around half 1, food was good, we had a few side dishes that were good and I had the 2 course lunch menu, delicious. Manager there was helpful and kind, lad behind the bar smiley. Will definitely return on next months walk 👍

Been 3 times and food poor everytime. Food forgotten to be made, then things missing off plate not in stock but not told when ordering, garlic bread made in microwave and soggy, partially frozen curry, mould on bread, upset stomach after. Front of house staff seemed lovely but definitely a microwave chef.... if that. Been for a quiz before which is good.

This was our first visit. We simply randomly picked the pub on one of our usual car rides. I was quite hungry and I went for lamb's liver and onions served over fluffy potato mash. Actually, I was quite happy that something like this was on the menu as one can get bored with burgers and chips. And when my food arrived, by the look of it I knew straight away that I have made the right choice. It was scrumptious! And the venue itself was very enjoyable and staff made us feel very welcome. We definitely will go to Shepley Spitfire again and we will recommend it to our friends and family. Thank you for having us.

4 of us went on New Year’s Day for lunch. The place is beautifully decorated, nice furniture, felt very clean, very helpful young man who seemed to be doing most of the serving. Food was typical pub grub, very tasty, nicely cooked. Menu very comprehensive lovely view from back room, watched squirrels rushing about. Will def go again.

Fantastic Meal, Great waiter, waitress service, would have been a five star Apart from putting your life at risk with the glass iced up car park. no attempt to put salt down! even after seeing a number of people commented on it. but nothing was done. hope no one fell or falls or your in trouble, Totley Sporting Chatter Group

Last night we went for the first time as my family recommended it. Lovely decor theme etc, then a staff member was shouting at someone for talking to someone else so we left. VERY unprofessional and driving customers away. 🤬 More like a “youth club” than a public house. I’d recommend Cross Sythes where we went instead. Left anxiously and shocked. First time at Shepley and the last. Just being honest.

We went in for lunch after a walk in the country, the pub is lovely the staff are friendly but the food was not good at all. We all felt rubbish after we had eaten.

Great service, this place does not deserve 3.5 reviews, the staff are really attentive , Jo was amazing and for the price the food was fab, we had, 3 adult meals including a steak, 4 rounds of drinks and 1 desert, £53, which I think is amazing, this pub maybe a chain, but its run by locals and loved by locals, it was on a downer some years back, but it's certainly on its way up again, xxx

I've known about this pub for a while now and has been on my to do list for a while. So what better time to visit than on Spitfire day the 5th March when the Spitfire first took flight in 1936. This was my Birthday today and was the final destination of the day and to finish the day with a nice drink and evening meal. The feel was modern with lots of nice hints of the connections to the famous plane. The food menu was good and catered for most people's tastes. I just went for a starter and main meal which arrived quickly and alot of attention to detail from the staff to make sure you were happy. Spent a couple of hours there enjoying the evening atmosphere from the locals and finishing my Birthday on a worth while high.

3 real ales on offer, plus the usual supply of beers from the keg tap. A smart eatery pub with plenty of space and smart a decor. Clean and friendly. The staff are friendly and helpful too. A little quiet on this Saturday afternoon. But during this recent heat wave everywhere seamed quiet. A limited food menu today, but I'm sure this is just temporary. Still a good selection of food though and of a good quality. 3 of us enjoyed it today. Worth a visit for both food and beers.

Surprisingly spacious Greene King pub. My first visit in over a decade. Bright and clean and with a carvery on the Sunday we visited. Large beer terrace round the back. Friendly staff too. It was quiet for a Sunday lunchtime.

Had the mixed grill, came out exactly as ordered, in-laws and fiancé had the carvery And they said it was very nice. The beer garden is a great feature and really relaxing. The meals have improved so much since the end of the pandemic and service as always was amazing.

On Sunday 3/4/22 my wife and myself held our Diamond Wedding Anniversary celebration for family and friends in the separate function room of this establishment. We had a hot & cold buffet for 22 people . The food was excellent & plentiful & the service from the pubs staff was attentive &efficient they certainly went 'the extra mile '. A special mention goes to the 'supervisor ' on duty on the day.nothing was too much trouble for her to make sure we had a PERFECT DAY which we certainly did. I would strongly recommend this venue.

We were able to use the WiFi for The Green Party conference, while eating great home cooked food in a spacious and interesting setting, while being looked after by a lovely group of staff. Very reasonable pricing too. We will be back.

Got my order wrong.white bread instead of brown sandwich that I ordered.didn't make much effort to offer a replacement, didn't seem to be bothered very much. Bad customer service. Can't recommend really.

We hadn't been there for ages and just happened to go nearby whilst on a good walk. It is dog friendly and on Monday's there's 25% off everything. Staff were helpful and friendly, food and service was excellent. Definitely going again soon.

Great food. Lovely setting. Thank you. (This was from Sept 2020 and a few visits during covid). Came back July 2021 after calling ahead to reserve a table. When we arrived at 1900 the kitchen was closed....."they forgot to tell us when we called ahead". The five stars we gave the first time around still stand...but post covid look after your customers better than this!

Went in today for a treat for my autistic son and was met with such warmth and the staff are amazing and my son is extremely picky with food but nothing with too much for them I would definitely go again brilliant place and the food omg amazing

The food was great including the kids meals (aged 2 & 4). We had chilli burgers, nachos, kids fish and chips plus kids fries and nuggets. All really nice. Plenty of choice for drinks with very helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely be going more often. Clean and respectful of Covid rules also.

Our first meal out after the closures...but not such a warm welcome. The restaurant was not busy but we still had to wait to order food and it didn’t get any better. No drinks menu to see (and of course not allowed at the bar) and the waitress had little knowledge of the drinks available and no willingness to find out. We were overcharged twice by the waitress serving us for drink and food items, fortunately after bringing it to the waiters attention he corrected on both occasions (the waitress had said she could do nothing about it, she alleged it was a problem with the till although her proposal seemed like a trades description infringement). We ordered more drinks when our food arrived, which were repeatedly forgotten despite asking 3 times and having finished our meal and some. The food was average but the food was better than the service. Discussed the issues with the waitress who said “I am just the runner” and bizarrely went on to blame other staff and the pandemic for repeated delays and mistakes. Even after we waited 20 mins for drinks she didn’t apologise for the delay, she just blamed the bar. Would have asked to speak to the manager had it not been for the waiter who was much more helpful. Not the pleasant tea out we were looking forward to, it was supposed to be a treat for us, however we couldn’t wait to leave.

It looked a very nice setting in the sunshine. Plenty of tables outside. Unfortunately didn't have any cask beer. Look forward to returning after May 17th when they will.

The best ever fish&chips I ate. Nice location. The perfect stop after 6 km hill climbing.
