Do not be put off with the queue outside It goes down quick. Fantastic scottish breakfast. Every ingredient perfect. Can not rate it high enough. An Edinburgh must.
Great for a high quality lunch and dinner.
We parked around the back of inn in a sort of residential area just aside thr high street. As a previous resident of Balerno, I can advise that there are two other car parks within walking distance.
Good portion sizes and elegant traditional offerrings.
My wife had the burger and our children had the choice of two types of menus for infants and then slightly older. I had the Sunday lunch which is nice and rich without being obscene.
The waiting staff were very friendly and accomodating to us considering how up and down we were with the kids. There is also the added benefit of an outdoor swing set and climbing frame for the youngsters to use, this is in a closed off area so excludes access to the wider public which is great.
Our kids could not finish their serving so we asked to take it home and they were nicely wrapped for us in foil.
Will be back!
Great food and more importantly beer, served by very funny and polite servers Justyna and Nathan where both great and made a brilliant experience for everyone.
We only spent a couple nights in Edinburgh but had to go back here on 2 consecutive days because we enjoyed the breakfast and coffee so much. Thank you, we hope you get to expand!
Chaskaa is my number 1 curry take away service. Like most Indian curry lovers, I have tasted many curries throughout Edinburgh and Chaskaa Punjabi Murgh - one of their specials is the best I have ever had and will continue to have. Their Chicken Pakoras are the best we have ever had, just as the onion bhajis were delightful. I have recommended this place to work collogues who have visited the restaurant to eat in and loved my recommendation: Karahi, Punjabi Murgh, both dishes they loved. I have been in the restaurant to collect my order and the staff are the best, I mean really could not get nicer people, very friendly and who take the honour of serving you, the same goes for the delivery person , we have seen a few different drivers and every single one of them makes you feel like 5 star service, the food, the packaging, the staff, everything is perfect. I would recommend. Just an FYI, you get money back on each order, its like a points loyalty system, on average we get £2 on each order back into our chaskaa account, it feels great after a few orders you end up with a free curry or even a free meal.
had previously given a good review as when we'd been before it was lovely but our last visit was disappointing. there was only a few people in and our food took forever even though we only ordered 2 pizzas and a garlic bread.
the bread took so long we ended up asking for it to go.. eventually after an hour after finishing the pizza we had to leave as our parking was expiring.. we realised the garlic bread was sitting on the counter in a takeaway box but nobody had given it to us. wonder how long it sat there! proper weird
a shame as pizzas used to be great but this time, it wasn't worth it at all :(
Gracias.
A foodie friend had a milestone birthday and so I decided to book lunch for us to eat here as a belated celebration. We booked without too much of a wait and had the most delicious meal.
As an amuse-bouche, we started with cream of cauliflower soup with ginger and curry with two different home-made breads. We then happened to choose the same menu - cheese soufflé with a pesto and baby tomato base, followed by duck breast with pancetta, seasonal vegetables, potato dauphinoise and a bacon gravy. For dessert, we both had passion fruit mousse with a coulis of mango and chopped mango, orange sorbet and mint and chocolate feuille as decoration. Finally, we were given petit fours of shortbread, dehydrated raspberry on a slice of dark chocolate and tablet. All washed down with wine for one and tomato juice for the other (and water).
The restaurant was full, but not crowded. The ambience was that of a family gathering and it was clear that some were repeat visitors. That in itself underlines the quality of the fare. Keith served with discretion and a gentle smile. We didn't meet Mary, but the team was clearly functioning to its highest level.
We both came away feeling very happy with our experience. Thank you.
Phenomal food, burgers are top teir, great selection of salads and sauce. Service was great as well very polite and welcoming, Lynne even gave me free haggis on the burger which was unreal. Will be there every time I pass the retail park
Owner was so lovely and helpful, first visit tonight. Cakes were absolutely amazing 😍 We came all the way from Fife and will definitely be back soon! ❤️
