The best restaurants serving Chinese food in Edinburgh and Lothian

Incredible authentic Chinese food at an amazing price. So glad that Chop Chop have been able to bring their amazing food back after closing their restaurant a few years ago. Highly recommend the unlimited banquet to enjoy all their delicious dishes.

We stumbled across this place whilst trying to find somewhere to eat on a Saturday night. They had one last table and we dived in. The owner was so so welcoming and super helpful, recommending what to try and explaining how the menu worked. We’ve done countless Chinese/Japanese/Korean BBQs but never one combined with a hot pot. Fabulous food! Lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and would absolutely come back next time we’re in Edinburgh

Deliciosa. Podríamos haber sido un poco más aventureros con nuestras opciones del pequeño menú. . . Podría haber escuchado mejor los consejos. Los platos principales eran geniales. Excelente comida china auténtica, tuvimos Char Sui, huevo y arroz hervido. me recuerda el tipo de comida que solía tener en Hong Kong.

I almost want to gatekeep this place but it wouldn’t be fair! It is so delicious, reasonably priced and the staff are lovely. Highly recommended.

Worst dining experience in Edinburgh. The pig's feet were too salty, and the waiter said, "I don't know, I didn't make them." Finally, she was asked to report back to the chef and owner. She turned around and said loudly that the whole hotel could hear, "They said the pig's feet are too idle." The waiter came back and said, "He said he added too much salt when making it." I asked "What then? What's the solution?". She replied, "That's what he said." Didn’t I say it was too salty?” She began to deny that the chef said more salt was added and said, “He only said it was good.” Then she said, “Maybe it’s salty, maybe there are other reasons? ". I asked "What's the reason? If it's salty, you can take it to the chef to taste it." She continued to deny that it was salty, and repeated that the chef only replied "ok". The call ended. Excuse me, the chef and owner, why didn't you deal with it after you admitted that it was salty? Ask the waiter, you said "maybe it is salty or there may be other reasons", what is the reason? Is it because the customer has a tongue problem? Such rude and unreasonable waiters and chef-owners are shocking!

An absolutely amazing experience. Organised lunch for my fiance on his birthday, the staff has been so wonderful. Keiron was delightful and checked on us at the perfect times.

Mi parter y yo visitamos después de ver las grandes críticas. ¡No nos decepcionaron! Cada elemento en el menú era fantástico. Tuvimos las ollas calientes picantes y calientes y nos quedamos muy impresionados. If the restaurant actually existed, it may have been the best ever place we’ve eaten at. As it turns out Shangri La is probably an apt name for a restaurant which is imaginary. Unfortunately we walked for about a mile and half to discover its been repurposed as a shop.

Nice food but extremely expensive. You pay for quality here. Unforgettable and lovely taste.
