My husband and I got married on the 5th and decided to visit this restaurant with my brother and sister-in-law after seeing the beautiful pictures online. I was not disappointed. From setting foot in there we were made to feel really special. We were greeted with glasses of bubbly as a congratulations, food was incredible and then were presented with a congratulations fortune cookie plate and sparklers. Such a lovely touch! Thank you for making our day even more special!

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant in Edinburgh! The ambiance is absolutely lovely, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Mikey, our server, was incredibly friendly and attentive, making our visit even more enjoyable. The Asian cuisine was delicious – every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and excellent service!

Absolutely fantastic food, service and choice of drinks. If you visit Edinburgh Tattu is a must - get it booked. 1 thing to be aware of is a service charge of 10% or your overall bill will be added to the final charge and this can be expensive even for 2 people.

My husband and myself went here for dinner after getting married. Beautiful place. Very anesthetic. Not much variety on the menu. They have a few options for people with dietary restrictions. I must say that the cocktails and mocktails are amazing. We waited quite a while for food however it was very busy.

Given the reviews I was expecting something really good. But I was underwhelmed. The staff and atmosphere were good, but I was underhwhelmed by the food itself. Especially the dessert.

After a long hesitation we went to this well located restaurant with a very nice decor, with some apprehensions about the menu and the prices. On site, the service is very well organized with a very friendly and competent team. Nevertheless, the food was good, but nothing more... Some dishes were sorely lacking in taste, and you had to take several things to really eat if you didn't take the menu offered. To put it simply, the atmosphere and the service are great, the food is really not worth it given the prices, I recommend going to a simple Asian restaurant to eat with real flavors at an affordable price. ! (we were asked if we wanted prawn chips, to which we said yes, so they brought us two small containers with 3 chips, for a total of £11) I was afraid before entering the restaurant that I would be slightly disappointed; I was more than I thought 2/5 just for the service and the location

Lovely decor, vibe and of course the food was exquisite

Beware the £11 sesame crackers! A sneaky cheeky addition, and at that price I’d expect more than 2 inch diameter wee pot holding a child’s handful of crackers. Food was pleasant - overpriced- but pleasant. Visiting Edinburgh for the first time since the demise of Chop Chop I think we will have to do more research on Chinese food in the city. Tattu is a venue, and a churning venue at that.

Our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of a disaster. We saw a free table online at 19:15, arrived at 19:18, only to be told there were no tables available. The hostess suggested we sit at the bar while she “tried to squeeze us in,” making it sound like we’d get a table soon. But after two cocktails and over an hour of waiting, still no word from her. The situation got even more absurd when I noticed I could still make reservations online, including one for 20:00. So, I booked it, thinking this might solve the issue. When I showed her the confirmed reservation, she shrugged it off, saying it must be a “system error.” Despite having a valid reservation from their own website, we were still ignored and ultimately never seated. The level of indifference and complete disregard for our time was shocking. Not only did we never get a table, but there was no apology, no attempt to rectify the situation, just an attitude like we were inconveniencing them. Save yourself the frustration and choose a restaurant that actually cares about its customers.

Lovely meal in a gorgeous venue. The prices are not for those with a weak heart though so be warned. Cocktails are delivered to the table with great flair so a great venue for a special occasion. The roast duck pancakes were out of this world.

The food was really terrible and bland, a total waste of money. I and my friend didn’t enjoy ourselves. Not much effort to celebrate a birthday celebrant. You should look into that, what’s that fortune cookie.? Please do better in that aspect, Too pricey to make little effort to celebrate someone’s birthday at your restaurant. Nah won’t recommend to anyone. If I were to rate you in an exam over 5 can’t give you half mark. This isn’t even the first Tattu I have been to but this one is a terrible one cause I loved the Birmingham restaurant.

A culinary adventure! Loved the ambience and vibe.

We celebrated our first anniversary here, and it was an amazing experience! The decor is stunning, the food presentation is exquisite, and the staff is fabulous. Kieran, our waiter, was lovely and very professional. He explained each part of the experience in detail and clearly knows his stuff. We chose the Tattu Signature, and it was incredible. The entire experience was exceptional!

Very tasty food selection, even though it's quite expensive worth every penny. Highly recommend. ☺️

Generally good, we got charged extra for a drink we didn’t even order that they forgot to take off since they didn’t have it which was annoying, service fee around £16. Felt pretty rushed constantly to order. Food was nice mostly the mains, the drink we had was really good from here!

Overall this was a fabulous setting, food was delicious and well prepared/presented. Staff friendly and engaging. Drinks however were on the pricier side however wine was of a good quality. We hope to be back and have recommended to friends.

I was disappointed by Tattu. Some of the food we had was really tasty, but for us it was not worth the high prices. You really pay for the atmosphere in this place, but I can understand why some people like it. If you're the type that wants to Instagram your dining experiences, Tattu may be a good option for you. My biggest complaint is for our waiter. We tried to order a variety of dishes (starters, several small plates, and sides), but he insisted that we needed to also order a main plate, so in the end we had more food than we needed. I don't appreciate the over-selling. We enjoyed most of what we ate, but it felt like we were taken advantage of.

Myself and my daughter visited here on Thursday to check out their 'Taste of Tattu' menu which finishes at 6:30pm. The decor is absolutely beautiful, although it was quite quiet so not much atmosphere. I have visited before with my husband for dinner so thought this would be a nice treat for my daughter. Once seated (seats are far too low for the tables) we were given the al a carte menus. I asked for the 'Taste of Tattu' menu and the waitress checked her watch (it was 4:30pm) and proceeded to get the menus for us. All menus should be presented to diners and we should not have to ask. She then asked if we would like some crackers for the table. I said yes please. These crackers, i'm sorry, were so dry and were accompanied with some crushed edamame beans. Tasteless and dry and £5 each for a small portion. The starter of squid was nice but the main course of angry bird was cold! We did say to the waiter who said he can change it over, we were half way through it by this time and couldn't wait for another as we had an event at 5:30pm. So we said it was fine we would just proceed but to perhaps let the cooks know that the food is cold. He took the service charge off the bill but I didn't think that was fair as he was a nice waiter. We left him a tip and left with our dinners in tubs so we could take them home to heat up after the event we had to attend. All in all, I think perhaps style over substance.

Such a cool vibe. Prefer this location to Manchester, great customer service too. Recommend prepaying for the celestial dragon, always a game changer.

Always have a brilliant time here. When my family come to visit Edinburgh, this is the place I take them. Kieron looked after all out needs. Can't recommend enough. Have the kung po tofu!

Very hip vibe...scrumptious chinese food...unusual prawn crunchies with asian guac, short ribs, sesame salad, spicy honey chicken, fried rice, pear sticky pudding -- all superb... Also delicious unique tropical drinks... Server christine a real pro..

Incredible. Probably the best meal I’ve ever had, so many different and unique flavours unlike anything else I’ve ever tasted before. Our server Christine was more than accommodating and lovely, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Gonna have to save up big time to come back here soon (hahaha)

Good atmosphere, hugely overpriced food. Also the menu is a pick and mix - I would rather the chef just chose a few cohesive dishes that work, rather than letting customers pick what should go with what. Great deserts though.

Didn't have a reservation, but the ladies at the front desk were very helpful and kindly got us a table. Mariusz(sorry if spelling is not correct) our server, was excellent and spoke us through the menu with recommendations. Great venue and food as was the atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Too much hype but not really worth that much. Pricey. The pork duo dish was just very sweet and super sweet. The chicken dish was OK, sugar wise. The girl at the door needs to be taught how to behave in hospitality instead of acting like she owned the place and is annoyed by us coming in there when she "offered" to take our coats. Cool looking interior but nothing special if youve been around. We spent over £200 for 2 people. Not really that much of an experience, esp when you're met by a snooty young nobody at the door.

Tonight was our first visit to Tattu, it had been recommended to us by friends and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a beautifully decorated place with fantastic food and brilliant service, with a special mention to Keiron who was an absolutely fantastic host, friendly personality, we asked for some recommendations on the food and what he suggested to us was some of the most delicious food we have had. He checked on us regularly without it being over bearing and made sure we had drinks when we wanted them, that we understood the menu and how it worked. Kieran asked us if we were celebrating anything and when we told him we had recently got engaged we were surprised with a sparkler and a congratulations message within the fortune cookie we were given. From start to finish our experience was amazing and Kieran played a huge part in that.

The atmosphere was beautiful. The staff was very attentive. Our waiter Lewis was very helpful when we asked about the various dishes. Drinks were very good and unique. The food was fantastic.

Our server Claire was great as was the food. The only thing that wasn’t excellent was the rice. The rice was fine and honestly i don’t know how one would make rice match the level of the other dishes. Left full and happy.

Im really not one to write a review but I felt I needed to. The atmosphere and service was great. However the food was not great at all most of it came out cold as well. Also, the prices are absolutely outrageous it’s crazy what they charge for a 1/5 star meal.

Keiron was our waiter and he was absolutely lovely. He was very accommodating. I have a tree nut allergy and the menu was plentiful for me. Everything was so tasty I would absolutely come back. The atmosphere is very cool and chic and clean. We had the Chinese green beans, scallop skewers, wagyu Goyza, pork belly skewers, mushroom spring rolls, and short ribs. These are severed tapas style and were perfect for 2 people to feel full but not stuffed. Only bummer was all the desserts have nuts in them. Keiron did offer to get me sherbet if I wanted dessert though which was very thoughtful.

Gorgeous restaurant with wonderful service and fantastic food! We ordered several small plates including the prawn, truffle spring rolls and the shredded duck fried rice. Alas the cherry and chocolate candy floss was finished 🙁. Everything was so flavourful and fresh with an exquisitely displayed. And the white tea was delightful - beautifully fragrant

After my “LAST” visit to Tattu I was compelled to leave a review, upon arriving we were told our table would be a little delayed and to wait in the bar, someone would come a take your drinks orders, after ten minutes no one had come so I had to go and ask myself. When they finally arrived and were placed on the table only to be immediately taken away again as our table was ready. We were given menus and told our server would take our order shortly, another 10-minute wait. Then usual any allergies, “no but I don’t want any carrots”, we have chosen ones with no carrots listed on the menu. The first course arrive and it was described by the waiter “pork dumplings with papaya “, “That looks like carrot”, “Well yes sir it is” ,“I asked for no carrot”, “sorry sir Company Policy we are not allowed change the dish in any way, we don’t want you to miss out on the experience “, “what about my experience, is that not important”, “sorry sir company policy!”. Sadly, this dish was also not cooked well, and the dumping was doughy and under flavoured. The others were very good as expected I have been to Tattu in Manchester many times. The waiter was slow in clearing the plates, he did not wipe down the table or remove the empty glasses, I had to ask him to take them away when the next course came. And then another issue the noodle dish was cold it looked grey and old, not fresh and crisp as it should, I asked to speak to the manage and sent it back, he said he would have a fresh one prepared, a little later a different waiter came out with Duck fried rice, which we didn’t order, Finally a new noddle disk was presented, yes it was warmer than the first (just) but still looked grey and old, clearly it was from the same batch as before just reheated. WHY does a restaurant of this standing think they can get away with that, why did the manager not take it on himself to ensure the new one was perfect! I have one thing to thank them for I have now decided I will were possible avoid these “Corporate Chain” restaurants and eat at local one were hopefully the staff have some pride in there work and our not bound by stupid “Company Policies”. TATTU – trust in your staff and given them some opportunity to apply common sense to their work! Go to this restaurant to take your Instagram photos but if you want anything else go elsewhere.

Kieron was absolutely amazing, we went for dinner before seeing a show at the fringe and he was so knowledgeable and explained every dish and ordering system to us so well. All the food was DELICIOUS and worth every penny (especially the wagyu). We’ll definitely be back!

It was an excellent restaurant. We had Claire as the waiter and she was amazing she had the energy and was fantastic. The food was amazing and tasteful.

Good atmosphere and the service was great. However I didn’t think the food was worth the price honestly, far too overpriced. Cocktails were dull and way overpriced, and can’t recommend anything from the menu that we tried. Also wish I knew the reviews were incentivised for the staff. Can’t really trust reviews from places like that.

First time at Tattu and deffinatly wasnt disapointed. The food and cocktails were amazing. Kieran really looked after us through our hoke experience, explaing everything and going above and beyond for us.

I will start the review by talking about the positive points, the service was very good, the treatment with the waiters was excellent. The place is very nice and the cocktails were very good. We ordered the £85 menu and I really can't recommend it. The dishes are very simple and not very tasty, none of them stand out except for the dessert. It seems excessively expensive for the quality of the dish. The bill was £230 (€270!!) simply for two menus, two cocktails and the obligatory tip included. I would not go again nor would I recommend it to any friends.

Disappointing food, most dishes came out lukewarm and were heavily seasoned. Sent two back unfortunately. Not cheap, expected better. Will not be going back.

We booked for the Taste of Tattu menu promoted on the website, however we weren’t presented with this menu when we arrived (presumably an attempt to upsell us to a la carte) - we had to ask for the set menu. The food was definitely high quality but we found the service was a little cold. Additionally our side dish wasn’t delivered to the table. When it did finally arrive after we chased it up, it was twice the price on the final bill. Overall we found the restaurant to lack atmosphere but we would definitely recommend the food which was very tasty. Glad we tried it but we probably won’t return.

Lily was our server and she was fantastic explaining the different dishes. We sent for the taster menu as it gave us a good range of dishes to try. I would highly recommend the cod dish and the skull candy cocktail.

The restaurant is beautiful, food is great and staff are lovely. BUT it's ridiculously overpriced, and not worth the money if I'm being honest. We were annoyed to realise, after we left, that a 'service charge' had been auto added to our bill despite no mention of this when we asked if they had availability, or when we made the booking online (staff told us to do it online). At the prices Tattu charge, this additional service charge is a blatent rip off. The food prices are more than enough to pay staff fairly! It's rude to auto add additional charges. Clearly you're relying on people not noticing, or feeling too embarrassed to ask to have it removed. Quite frankly, I want it refunded.

Tattu was an incredible dining experience! We went for the Emperor's Tasting Menu and it exceeded all expectations. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect, adding to the overall experience. Special mention to Lily, who provided top-notch service throughout our meal. She was attentive, friendly, and made our night even more enjoyable. The vibe, the food, and the service were all fantastic. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Manchester! Highly recommend!

When I tell you, this is a must visit restaurant…believe me!! They have amazing food (my favorite is the pineapple tofu dish), beautiful atmosphere, and some of the best service I received in all of Edinburgh. Huge shout out to Claire, who spent the night being an absolute delight and the funniest individual I’ve ever met. I’m not from Edinburgh, however best believe I will be telling anyone that is coming to this beautiful city that this is the place to go!

Beautifully presented food in a lovely restaurant. We had the new Dim Sum Sunday menu and it was superb.

You can have world class chefs and an amazing venue but if you don’t treat your customers well and have such rude staff who are unaware of the policies of the restaurant, I don’t think it adds up well. If your staff member can tell a mother to leave the 18month old baby outside the restaurant to have ur dinner inside so that other guests are not disturbed, I think you can stoop lower to any level. Disappointing and disgusting behaviour. Such a blot to the warmth of Scotland and Edinburgh.

The staff was utterly rude and I think you must speak to the person at the reception Hannah - to atleast learn some courtesy of welcoming guests. A very bad experience and I won’t go again nor would i recommend any of my friends and family.

Had a fantastic experience here to celebrate our anniversary, amazing food that is served in a way for everyone to try as the plates come out from the kitchen. Highlights of the plates were definitely the Pan Seared Pork Dumplings and the Asian Pear Sticky Toffee Pudding that both packed a lot of flavour! The staff were very attentive making sure our glasses were always full and had a bunch of banter with the table. Would definitely recommend this place to a friend and the Taste of Tattu menu is a great way to try a range of dishes they have on offer for the restaurants á la carte menu!

Signature drinks were fun and delicious. The food was perfectly described by our server, Kieran, and did not disappoint. And the cherry blossom dessert was super fresh and amazing. Not sure the next time I will make it back to Scotland, but Tattu will definitely be on the menu for one night if I do.

Our waiter keirnan was very rude not at all helpful.As we had told him we had never been here before we thought he would explain what each dish was and give us recommendations but instead he was very condescending and almost pretended we could not read the menu.He was very horrible for the entire evening going so far as to ignore us a couple of times.We spent a lot of money but it was just not worth it at all and the service was the worst thing about the restaurant.

I’d been looking forward to dining at Tattu in Edinburgh, and it did not disappoint! Everything about my experience was fabulous. They graciously seated me at a table for one on a Friday evening upon my arrival. Keiron served me, was so friendly and helpful, and recommended the best dishes and dessert. And the Cherry Blossom Negroni was one of the best cocktails I’ve had. Highly recommend Tattu in Edinburgh. Thank you for an excellent experience.

as for me a chef .. the food is expensive .. but it's worth the disappointment .. a friend comes once a week regularly, they didn't want to let us in because he was wearing short shorts .. there was a gentleman at the reception, I thought he was from Mexico .. not a nice gentleman .. but the waitresses and the food were great... come on, overcooked noodles, we wanted to pay for it anyway... they deducted it from the bill... lunch was £314 + 50 tip... it's not about the price... because it was great... the only thing we heard when we entered was no. let's get in... The guys' shorts were too short for lunch... it was very hot and I was in a hurry to get to the airport... if this gentleman thinks that he will select me, he is very wrong... we go somewhere for lunch every day..: but daddy, once a week... best regards Sir, I felt unsure... until he told us that we were there regularly... there are many restaurants we go to (sushi samba) no problem, they always have a table for us without a reservation... still 5 stars... don't treat people by their shorts .. the boy had a watch worth 150,000 pounds and he treated us like garbage at the entrance…/ I still recommend it… come and eat something once a week

They ran out of bottled still water. They ran out of noodles. The service was beyond slow. It’s actually a shame because the food was quite good. Service was horrible.

We were shocked and disgusted to see the staff picking off the plates with their fingers and eating the dishes before they came out. Our waiter was weird too, but possibly because he saw us clocking the staff eating the dishes and taking pictures. Absolute disgrace of a place.
