Absolutely amazing food was delicious and staff lovely couldn't fault anything.

Daniil was the best server ever. The atmosphere he brings in this restaurant is unbelievable. The food was quite spicy, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. The rest of the experience was magical. Thank you Tattu team and especially Daniil for such an amazing experience.

Our table was not served together. Our mains came out without rice therefore sat for 10mins before we had to send back because they were cold. Only 3 of the 6 mains were served first. Followed by another 2 15mins later then followed by last one almost 20mins after the first one. Had 4 different servers for our table so they had no idea what was happening- all very unorganised and very stressful when you are forced to eat before others in your party. Our bill was over £500 so it's definitely not the experience I was expecting. The Restaurant is beautiful and the theatrics of some of the presentation is very photo/video worthy however is style over substance and doesn't encourage repeat customer visits. I would definitely not return.

I was there just last night, everything was going smoothly and the food was amazing, we had lobster toast for starters which was very tasty but unfortunately, I burned my palate cause the little ball of lobster was cold from the outside and super hot in the inside, “a little hands up would have been appreciated since every plate was explained to us in details”. Two lovely waitresses were coming and checking on us all the time, until the last two courses two different waiters came with the plates and I don’t know how but they managed to stain my white trousers, I didn’t get an apology or a wet tissue until I had to ask for it, I passed on that as I understand it could happen. We arrive at the dessert very slowly and we were almost last in the restaurant we decided to take a picture to keep it as memory of this beautiful restaurant and while doing this I ask one of the waiters if I could have the bill, quickly the waitress come back which made me understand that it was for us time to go, so for not make him waste time kindly I asked him if we could pay with card with rush the waitress came back not even giving me the time to check the bill, I was going to read and check on how to split with my friend that was here in Edinburgh for hol and I was translating for her, he was visible irritated or at least gave me this impression and when I told him to wait just two seconds as we are checking how to split he quickly said I’ll do that for you on the card machine which was fine if it’s not for the fact that he never asked if the were happy with the service charge or how was everything and so on, he put me in an awkward situation as he was rushing me and not giving me the time to realise or understand how much was the total. I ended up paying £184.50 including over £20 tips and a cleaning service bill for my trousers, not quite sure if I will be back…

Absolutely amazing culinary experience in Edinburgh. Food and atmosphere were unmatched. Keiron was a fantastic server and really made a celebratory evening for us feel that way. We didn't come to Edinburgh for the food but we'd come back for it!

Been looking to go here for a while and it didnt disappoint. Service from start to finish was excellent especially from our waiter Mikey. He was so friendly and helpful and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The location is very central to the train station and the decor is worthy of an instagram pic alone. We had 3 courses for £33 which we found reasonable and the food was served beautifully and tasted great especially the dessert which came with a little bit of magic!!Would definitely recommend if you are in edinburgh

Went to Tattu to have the Imperial Roast on Sunday. Welcoming staff when we arrived and atmosphere was nice. What was disappointing here was the lack of value for money. We opted for the add-on Caramel Soy Bavette, which was an additional £10 per person. When it arrived it was a quite a small portion in our opinion, around half a steak to share between 2 people. Even though the rest of the food was good, paying £20 for such a small portion was a letdown, especially considering that Bavette is usually a cheaper cut of meat. As mentioned, the rest of the food was good, but we paid around £100 in total without drinks which felt expensive for what was quite a basic meal.

This was myself and my wifes first visit and the server made us feel at ease explaining the menu giving us recommendations make it a great experience would definitely go back

Was served by Mickey who was probably the most enthusiastic waiter I have ever met, great restaurant great food, my first ever fine dining and me and my girlfriend were so delighted

We had the tasting menu which was good however what sets the restaurant apart is the attentive service from the minute we arrive until we left. Our server Kieran was attentive, friendly and professional which was a difficult trio to balance in a busy environment. Kieran had great knowledge of the menu and wine and provided recommendations on both.

Smart casual dining - excellent serving from a Kieran. Food was super tasty and good value on the lunch menu. Will come again

Visiting Edinburgh for the weekend and we decided to go to Tattu to eat. We were not disappointed! Our waitress Romana was exceptional, she was extremely knowledgeable regarding the menu, super helpful and attentive. Our evening was made so very special thanks to her and the rest of the team. The meal was like a trip to the theatre, all courses were explained in detail and Romana even explained what to eat first and why! I only wish we lived closer so we could experience her friendliness and knowledge more often! Highly recommend Tattu and thank you for such a memorable experience.

Fabulous restaurant with delicious food. Our server Ramona was wonderful with excellent knowledge of the menu and of the preparation of each dish. Our only niggle was that our table was right under a speaker and the music was too loud which made conversation difficult at times.

Overall extremely poor. Came here for my boyfriends birthday and was told I could not bring a cake to be presented at the table upon arrival due to allergies. I thought fair enough and asked if they could do a birthday plate (working in hospitality myself I make these regularly for customers) and I was told this would be no probelm. Staff overall were not attentive in the slightest. I was constantly looking around to try and find staff. When we had questions on the food it was as if we were inconveniencing the staff. Food was average and not worth the hype at all. And to top it off there was no birthday plate presented while every other table seemed to get one. I think the only reason people come here is because of the cherry blossom trees and even at that it’s nothing to write home about. Seems as though lots of 1 star reviews have had the exact same problems dating back several months.

Food was delicious. Drinks were good and so was the service. One minor irritation is expecting customers to pay £58 for a service charge, (tip). This is just a slippery slope to allow owners to pay staff less as customers will pay bulk of wages, just like USA.

Fabulous ambiance, superb food and great service make this one of Edinburghs finest Asian restaurants. From the warm welcome to the cheery farewell, the whole experience is well worth the high price (£165 for 2). The Duck pancakes were gorgeous - fresh roasted duck breast with a spicy chilli dressing. The standout course for me was the King Prawns - delicious. Slightly disappointed with the mandatory 12.5% service charge with an optional tip on top of that.

Lovely place and brilliant table service. Been looking forward to going here for years. What a let down. It's not authentic Chinese or Asian. Just another food chain. Saw the passe and seemed to be Easten European cooks. Starters for me fine, then 20 min wait for my Mums after mine was finished. Every dish was lukewarm. I don't believe anything is prepped, but bought in and made to look fancy. Authentic Asian it is not. Fancy menu attracts. Style over substance. Over priced and overrated. The stars are only for the staff and decor.

This place is simply amazing. The decor is gorgeous, the food, thr presentation and the staff are fabulous. Kieran was our waiter. He was lovely and very professional. He explained what every experience was and really knows his stuff. The whole experience was excellent. The dessert and cocktails....wow. Blown away. I have recommended to everyone I know.

I usually don’t bother writing reviews, but this time I felt I had to. The food here is just okay and definitely not worth the high prices they charge. For example, they charge £40 for black cod, which is just too much. But what really made me write this review was how bad the service was at the end of our meal. The waiter just dropped our desserts on the table without caring who ordered what. Even after we pointed it out, he didn’t bother to fix it properly and just added water to the dry ice for show, then finally swapped the plates around. He was super rude, didn’t even say sorry, and just walked off. It completely ruined our night. We paid £170 and it was not worth it at all. After that terrible service, I’m never going back.

Had seen the beautiful interior online and booked for mine and my partner's anniversary. Unfortunately it really is style over substance, portions are small and highly priced for what they are. Food is good but nothing revolutionary to write home about, a lot of dry ice cocktails and sparklers going to tables at the end of the meal. Service was poor in that the waitress appeared to be speaking off a script and couldn't wait to get away from the table. All in all we had 1 starter, 2 mains, 2 sides of rice, 2 bottles of water, 1 alcoholic drink and 1 mocktail for £120. Glad I tried it but wouldn't go back.

I booked the Tattu as a surprise for my partners birthday along with his family and I was so impressed as soon as we walked in - the decor is so beautiful !! From the amazing food , delightful cocktails to the exceptional service and surroundings we were given a night to remember for a long time. Thankyou !!

What an experience! We started with sitting down to review the menu and enjoyed the fun that came with the cocktails. The environment is something special and the food was lovely. We had the first sharing menu and for 2 of us it was more than enough food. We’ve never had duck wraps like they do at Tattu and they were great, even the sides like the broccoli dish were wonderful. Our waiter Lewis was very attentive and helpful and so added to our whole positive experience.

This was junk food, dressed up like oriental dishes. Deep fried prawns were particularly bad and the sauces were foul. We were left waiting for 25 minutes after our table booking which didn’t help. They’re trying hard to emulate (say) Chaophyra, but that restaurant, at least appears, to use fresh ingredients in an authentic way. Not recommended

So good! Highly recommend the tattu tasting menu. 65 per person but you get soooo much food! The dessert was probably the best dessert ive had in my life. This restaurant is the best for dates or business dinners. Loved it

First time visiting with my sis and took advantage of the Eat Out Edinburgh deal (3 courses for £28!). We were seated in a booth (ideal) and served by Mikey who was super friendly and attentive. Great experience, great food and beautiful surroundings. Cannot recommend enough!

A shocking experience and our table of 9 had to leave without eating. The service was far from attentive and the food simply didn’t arrive after almost an hour of waiting. It didn’t look like they were lacking staff and maybe they couldn’t handle a larger table. It reminds me of ah Ivy Asia without the sleek management.

This is an Instagramers paradise and cocktail bar that also serves some very underwhelming and over-priced food. I’d leave it at that but I’ll explain. Service - wait staff were all super nice but the hostess showed us to our table, never asked to take out coats, then dumped the menus and walked away. Not the best start. Atmosphere - the restaurant was rammed busy and noisy plus it had loud music playing. It was a total sensory overload and it was really difficult to have a conversation. Tables were also packed together so no privacy. Why do places need to play music so loudly? Cocktails - they are delicious and strong and really enjoyed these. Had 4 between us - China Rose, Zang Fu Punch, Koko Tattu and the Eastern Dragon. But that lot came to £56.50 before service charge. Ouch! Food - only 2 dishes get a high score from us - the pork belly skewers and the sticky beef rib. Both delightful. The rest were just bland. Rice was dry over cooked. The lobster toast flavourless. The sea bass tom yum was just poor and cost £26.90 on its own, and the angry bird was basically a chicken kung po but not all that great. Honestly felt the overall food was really poor. The bill with service was just short of £190 for 2 people. I know it’s Edinburgh city centre and all but that was a lot for underwhelming food. My test as always is “would I go back” and honestly it’s a hard no.

Love this restaurant- this is our 3rd time here. Randomly Mikey has been our waiter every time - he’s amazing!!!! Friendly, relaxed and beautiful food. Our fav restaurant by far. And thanks again Mikey for being awesome.

The hype, the cost completely is not worth it. The food was basic, the service was below par and it felt more like a fast food place. The quality of produce was good though many items were cold and I hate to say my local Chinese is much better.

Beautiful décor, setting a relaxed yet sophisticated tone for the meal ahead. The food lives up to the ambiance in every way. The cocktails too are served with a touch of flair, yet everything feels understated in the best way.

The food, atmosphere and service in this resturant are amazing. Came in for a midweek dinner with no reservation and we managed to get a table. We were looked after by Sammi who walked us through each of the menu options along with recommendations for both wine and dishes. She's a star! Food was excellent- highly recommended the crispy duck and the prawn and lobster prawn toast!
