Absolutely outstanding service and delicious food, we arrived late on the night of the queen’s funeral and there was no sit down service but take away was available. The lady was so helpful and absolutely amazing in offering to drive our order and us to our accommodation so it didn’t go cold. Food was lovely; big portions and very tasty. She even threw in a portion of prawn crackers and prawn toast.

We were staying in Edinburgh for a long weekend and foolishly hadn’t booked anywhere to eat on a Saturday night….after too many drinks on a Friday night we were hankering for Chinese food, and came across Shangri-La….. Incredible….quite possibly some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had in the UK. The service was also wonderful and friendly, with regulars constantly coming through the door. Don’t be put off by the decor, the food is simply excellent and the food is brilliant…and great value too

This is without doubt, my favourite restaurant ever! The combination of gorgeous food and a cosy, home-from-home atmosphere are reason enough, but Tina (the proprietor) takes this little place to a whole new level. We have been popping in for dinner regularly for the last 3 months, since we first discovered Shangri-La, and we go as much for her warm and friendly company as we do for the wonderful meals. I couldn't recommend it more highly! : )

Took 1hr 45min for delivery and forgot the soft drink. Starter was good,but the chicken curry was stodgy and poor. Will not be using again.

Lovely meal , just as nice as I remember. 1st time since lockdown that we have eaten in the restaurant. Fab food, great value for money and Tina welcomes you back like an old friend. My favourites are lemon chicken, whilst hubby loves king prawn satay. Highly recommend, have never had a bad meal and we have been visiting and having takeaways for the last 7 years.

Outrageous customer service!!! I phoned up to check that they could accommodate 2 people for a meal that evening. I was told they were opened till 11pm so asked could we book a table for 9pm. We were told we could. We booked and paid for a taxi and arrived at 8.55pm to be told 'we sorry, we close' there was no-one else in the restaurant and they did indeed look closed. Outrageous service. We had to book another taxi to pick us up and he helped us find another restaurant. Furious!!!!!!!!!!!

First time having a take away (delivered) from Shangri-La It was super easy to order online The meal came in about 25 minutes which was brilliant. And it was piping hot! We had lemon chicken - this was good Chips egg friend rice and curry sauce - all superb Also had prawn crackers - these were so good! Nice and light Salt and pepper chips were full of flavour Vegetable spring rolls were great too The price is so reasonable and generous portions Thanks so much! I’ve struggled to find a really good Chinese take away in Edinburgh that delivers - I think this might be my new favourite

Hi we ordered from yous on Tuesday and the food was absolutely beautiful but we both fell terrible unwell from the next day and then was back to normal on Thursday we had a beef curry noodles chicken fried rice barbecue sauce and salt and pepper chips I’m really not happy with paying all the money and becoming very unwell . How are you going to solve this ?

Impressed with this little restaurant. Really friendly staff who were really helpful on this first visit. Ribs were first class and the chicken and peppers in black bean some of the best I have had. Lemon chicken nice but not as good as the Loon Fung just down the road. Rice good and soft noodles excellent. Very competitively priced and portion sizes excellent for the price. Would recommend and will use again.

We went here on Hogmanay. It wasn't busy and they apologised for closing early but many other places nearby weren't open at all. Lovely food and service. Don't be put off by the look of the place.

Small restaurant but superb food. Have visited here several times now and have never been disappointed by the quality and taste of the food. I’m well used to eating spicy and well seasoned food and having sampled many things on the menu I can honestly say this place really delivers. Tina is a great personality and happy to discuss the menu and offer suggestions. A real hidden gem.

This little restaurant is a labor of love by Tina. Don't be in a rush. Ask her for suggestions. You will be pleasantly surprised with the quality of your food.

Just ordered a takeaway for the first time. Shan't be bothering again. Everything was bland and tasteless. Singapore noodles had no heat at all. Boring salt and pepper squid. Dull, grey vegetables. The crispy duck was ok but that's the best I could say.

The salt and spicy chips are to die for. The owner Tina is extremely hardwork and she treats all her customers like family. I've been a regular for years and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

My last 2 orders from Sangri-La has been terrible.I didn't enjoy my dinner, chow mein was bland and tasteless...Dissapointing.

The restaurant was not clean, the door didn't close properly so very cold, my spring onion dish did not contain one spring onion, corkage is £5 per bottle which is written in tiny pencil letters below byo sign. Very average food. But......Very friendly staff.

Wow, is all I can say. We stopped off to see if we could have a table for 3 and we were greeted with a really lovely lady who was the owner. We were greeted with smiles and a very warm welcome.

So, we arrived just after 5 o’clock on a Sunday evening, thinking we might be on the road home by 6:30, or 7:00 pm at the latest; but, one should never tempt fate for we left at 10:45pm (just as a couple of guys entered for a rather late supper). Okay, here’s what happened.

Dark n Dingy Caro Bad Food & Rood Staff pidió Chicken Chow main. Tomó menos de 2 minutos para llegar a la mesa. Guau, era rápido. Parecía un nido de pájaros hecho de bandas elásticas. El pollo estaba frío. Sin brotes de frijoles, cebollas, pimientos, etc. cuando el gerente / camarera se quejaba de un torrente de insultos. cuando pagas un buen dinero, esperas comida caliente y si te quejas, no esperas que te griten. Ahórrate a ti mismo Buen dinero y abuso Ve a otro lado. .

Nos pasábamos de la periferia y mis chicas vimos el cartel fuimos en el lugar estaba lleno. A pesar de que estaba lleno el personal donde hasta que fueron rápido profesional y muy amable nos decantamos por el buffet y mi hija quería bolas no en el buffet y no fue un problema, ya que hacen un servicio de menú. No dejes que el ajetreo del lugar. Bien merece una visita.

Mi favorito Chino en Edimburgo tan estupendo para visitar de nuevo en mayo en mi vuelta de vacaciones en el sur. Tina y su chefs nunca me decepcionó, servicio amable y eficiente y la comida muy sabrosa. No puedo ir pasando el pato tortitas de empezar y no me decepcionó. Bien vale la pena visitar para aquellos y ellos seguido de un excelente pollo satay. Partida a Francia en septiembre, volar a/desde Edimburgo, así al menos una visita de planificación

Este restaurante no ganarán premios por su aspecto o decoración, pero debería ganar por la comida y hospitalidad.

No vivimos tan cerca del Shangri-la como quisiéramos, pero cuando lo visitamos para comer o llevarlo a casa, siempre recibimos una cálida bienvenida de la adorable Tina.

Han estado usando este para llevar ya que me cambié de la zona en julio de 2017.

Una fabulosa cena aquí desde el menú que tiene una increíble selección de platos para todos los gustos. Las costillas barbacoa de repuesto eran preciosas, la salsa absolutamente delicioso. En cuanto a la carne de Mongolia, bien es increíble! Sin duda vamos a volver en la primera oportunidad.

This Chinese is delicious. I normally don’t have Chinese as my first choice for takeaway as I feel Chinese restaurants in Edinburgh are not great, but all the food at shangri-la is absolutely delicious and super tasty. Absolutely recommend.

Me and my flatmate have just enjoyed yet another satisfying take away delivery from Shangrila China Kitchen Restaurant in Edinburgh, Scotland. We ordered Roast Duck with Fried Rice and Singapore Fried Noodles. We both enjoyed it so much we rang back the restaurant to pass on our compliments to the chef as well as the ever so friendly owner Tina. She’s always so polite and helpful on the phone. Our food arrived within 20 mins from order. Excellent service and truly delicious food will always be guaranteed! Thank you Tina and the chefs of Shangrila China Kitchen Restaurant of Edinburgh. After deciding a quiet night in with friends we fancied a chinese takeaway and we would definitely recommend Shangri-La. The food came within 45minutes, very hot and tasty! My friends and I were visiting Edinburgh for New Years and we would come to Shangri-La again!

We always refer to this restaurant as 'Tina's' - Tina seems to remember us even if we only go a few times each year, usually at the end of a holiday. The food is good, you can take your own booze (although we never have) and she's always ready for a chat.

Yo sólo hemos utilizado (muchas veces) este pequeño restaurante para una comida para llevar. Pero habiendo dicho que no dudaría en volver a sentarse. Este lugar es barato en comparación con otros, pero no te dejes engañar, la comida es buenísima, con porciones de tamaño razonable.

Después de llevar el pedido a partir de aquí varias veces, seguro que decir esta noche fue la última. La primera vez que tanto la comida como la entrega era genial, la comida especialmente! Desde entonces, hemos tenido que esperar más de 2 horas para...

Siempre me dan un lejos de aquí y lo que diferencia a este lugar es el personal, son más amables que jamás conocerás y muy complaciente. La comida en sí es buena, y el precio es excelente para la zona.

Come here regularly for takeaways. So many good choices! Would recommend shredded chilli chicken, salt and pepper prawns, crispy pork with special sauce, shu mai, Singapore fried rice and the chicken satay starter! Really friendly staff! Love it here!

Great tasting food at a great price. Ordered a takeaway and collected it in half an hour. Would recommend the set menu B for 2. Fantastic value for money, with so much great tasting food. Will definitely be going back.

我们朋友几个到爱丁堡游玩，到了饭点，肚子饿死了，我们就来到香格里拉，歺馆不是太大，但是一进来给你的感觉就佷热情，哇吃到我丛来没有吃过的杏仁下，又好看，又好吃，我们点了梅子鸭，又香又甜，味道很好，还有辣鱼，和招牌饭，量很多，吃得太好太饱，又不贵，我们很怏就回来，还要告诉朋友，这里的服务超好

You can tell something about the management of a business that when you walk in she remembers what you nornally order and its only done once or twice a month.The staff are always friendly and when you order set a realistic expectation of how long it will be so no wasted time.The food is always fresh this is by far the best place for Chinese tale away food in Edinburgh without a doubt and i have tried a few.Cant wait to be back.....

Delicious food happy to cater for my & my friend who are both Veggie with really crispy Tofu and my other friend who is an avid meat eater with the biggest pile of chicken wings I have seen in a long time. Amazing waitress cute accent and so funny and chatty and generous portions of food. Very reasonable priced

My wife and I originally went to order a take away when we saw the sign in the window 'bring your own bottle'. However when inside we noticed that they now have a licence to sell alcohol. So decided to eat in. My wife ordered a Thai vegetable Masaman curry while I had a Chicken Thai Red Curry both with Coconut Rice we also had two bottles of Tsing Tao beer. We both enjoyed our respective curries and with Vanilla ice cream and coffee to follow it made for an enjoyable visit. The two ladies who served us were very pleasant and helpful. The final bill of £43, we felt a tad expensive. One scoop of ice cream was £2. But for the quality of the Thai food we would recommend this restaurant.

I've been getting take-away from the Shangri-la quite regularly over the last couple of months. I'm super busy at work and often too tired to cook at the moment so its become a very regular thing with me going once a week over the last few weeks. Up until today, I've been really happy. The noodles are nice - they're not too oily and don't taste as if they're full of MSG. The meat is quite tasty and they've been happy to accommodate my request for shrimps instead of prawns in my special chow meins. The lady serving front of house has been fun and charming. However, on my last visit, the chef put in the shrimps but nothing else. I told them today and the lady, instead of simply apologising, went and talked to the chef and came back to tell me that he had put all the meat in!! He had not. She then went on to say that she 'couldn't prove it.' I felt pretty annoyed at being challenged and at having my honesty called into question. She continued to labour the point saying that the chef would remember me as I'm the only one who asks for shrimps. I found the whole thing pretty embarrassing and unnecessary. Unfortunately, I'll be looking for a new Chinese takeaway.

I cannot believe how welcoming and friendly this restaurant is. Now I know with the takeaway side there has been some negative reviews but you have to remember that with the telephone service you are placing an order within a couple of minutes and unless you are very specific that is when things can be misunderstood. The restaurant service is totally different as when we walked in the door we were greeted by Tina and showed our table. Once again Tina went through the menu and asked if we had any questions regarding it (and also about allergies etc). Our order was taken as we asked and how it would be served. While doing all this Tina multi tasked by keeping an eye on other customers and making sure they were okay. I would highly recommend this to anyone. These places are few and far between a real gem of a place.

I'm not a big fun of Chinese food simply because I find it hard to find a Chinese with good food. This one was amazing (friend recommended) and I enjoyed every single minute of it. The food was fresh, we got lots of attention. It feels like family with your mum looking after you. Hugely impressed. I had a set 3-course menu for £15. Very good deal I would say (+ unlimited rice crackers).

Food is excellent, was here for a visit last week, and back again. Staff are friendly and attentive, drinks always topped up.

Ordered takeaway from Shangri-la... Got duck with plum sauce, crispy pork with special sauce, & vegetables with oyster sauce. The positives were the duck and pork were tasty and had good flavour, BUT they were covered with SO much sauce!! It was total overkill (and a little sickly by the third bite). The "vegetables" we're essentially bean sprouts, onion and a can of water chestnuts floating in a lake of oyster sauce! There was not a single green vegetable in sight! Neither of us could eat it, so it went in the bin. Overall, it was "ok", but the amount of sauce on everything was not pleasant and won't be going back again.

Hi, we were back with friends for the test food, we had special dinner for 6. The food taste so delicious , the crispy beef taste so crispy with the sauce and the salt pepper fish taste crispy and inside taste so juice and the duck plum sauce so good . The special fried rice so taste. Have everything in , and the service was excellent , and always make you feel home . Very relaxing and we are 100% recommend to our friend and family. We will be back soon for the taste food good service

On walking into the Shangri La I was greeted by Tina and sat down. Tina took the time to know us and tell us about the different dishes and how or if you would like them. For myself this is what makes a place when you feel special. The menu is fairly priced and the food we had was very well presented and cooked to out needs. I would recommend to anybody to give this place a visit as its well worth it. The atmosphere is very nice and the only other comment I would say that I just wish it was bigger. We'll defo be back!

A warm welcome when we arrived although rather cold a heater was placed close and soon warmed up. The food was very good and our plates were empty at the finish. The atmosphere was easy going mainly due to Tina who was the perfect hostess. This was a second visit for us and it did not disappoint. Alan and Carole.

Ordered from here for the first time last night, and after reading reviews thought I'd finally found a decent chinese takeaway in Edinburgh. Ordered bog standard lemon chicken & deep fired crispy beef as a tester - if they can't get that right no point in trying them again. Got the food and while ok-ish, there was something a bit not right with the chicken sauce, and the crispy beef was way overcooked & a bit like eating charcoal, and the sauce had some added unnecessary stuff to it and again just didn't taste quite right, so most was left and put in bin. I've had worse, but I've had a lot better, sorry. The quest to find a half decent chinese takeaway in Edinburgh continues. Suggestions welcomed!

My flatmate and I ordered a take away from Shangri-La, we looked at the reviews and saw that it was pretty decent, but some negative comments from people, but we decided to try it out, and was gad we did! Huge portions of food, delivered quicker than estimated time of arrival, very reasonably priced, couldn't fault the service at all.

I'm a student living in the university halls nearby, i come to shangri-la for a takeaway every week as my weekly treat. The food is reasonably cheap and affordable for students, always taste good. Big portions as well. The lady owns the restaurant is really friendly and chatty. Definitely recommend it to everyone. Planing to go sit in with friends next month for Chinese new year.

I'm a student living locally and go to the restaurant for take away regularly. The food tastes amazing here with me regularly ordering Chicken Chow Mein or shredded beef in chilli sauce. The food for a student is so affordable but at the same time is of a high quality. Food is always ready for my collection within 15 minutes of me ordering. I love getting my food from here and Tina who serves is always chatty and friendly! The restaurant itself looks very clean and there are always customers eating in whenever I go.

My partner and I were visiting Edinburgh for a long weekend and wanted a sit-down Chinese meal one evening (you can only eat haggis for so many nights!). After looking on TripAdvisor and seeing that the restaurants in the top ten all looked quite pricey, we decided to make a reservation at the Shangri-La for 7pm on a Friday.We arrived late to the restaurant and were worried we might lose our reservation, however we needn't have been concerned as there were only two other tables in use. Ordinarily this would start alarm bells, however Tina (the loveliest waitress we've ever met) instantly made us feel at home and comfortable, assuring us that if we needed anything at all or had any allergies that the kitchen could alter our meal accordingly. We ordered a bottle of wine for £15 which I felt was pretty standard, however if this is too expensive or you'd prefer to BYOB you're more than welcome to as there is NO corkage charge! For dinner we ordered 2 appetizers and 5 main dishes which came to about £45 excluding the wine (mid-range price).The food was incredible and was genuinely some of the nicest Chinese food we've ever had - all the dishes came out freshly cooked and hot and were extremely flavorsome. Although the restaurant was empty, there was a constant stream of phone calls for take-away orders which is always a good sign and it in no way affected the service we received from Tina or the kitchen staff.Perhaps the most charming thing about our meal out was the relationship between Tina and her customers. The other two tables were occupied by regulars who clearly return for the great food and service and it was lovely to be included in conversation with everyone as it made us feel as though we were at our local Chinese even though we were hundreds of miles from home. A special mention must go out to Stuart, the most irregular regular who went behind the bar and started up some music midway through our meal!At the end of our meal, Tina bought my partner and I drinks on the house as a thank you for our custom as well as some Celebrations (good ones too, not just the left over Bounties from Christmas!). We talked to her about her family and it was really lovely that we were able to connect with her on a personal level.If we lived locally, my partner and I would dine at the Shangi-La all the time. It's early on a Saturday night, only a few tables were taken, so we chanced our arm and enquired if we could have a table for 2. Was not a problem, so we sat and perused the extensive menu. It became apparent that the lady serving us was on her own (as she later told us, one other staff member was off sick and the other on holiday). There was a severe lack of atmosphere - it's a cold-looking dining area, no music playing, therefore due to the small size of the dining area, this led to quite a quiet eating experience, so much so, that we just ate our meals as quickly as possible just to get out of there. The phone was ringing with orders every couple of minutes and there was a steady stream of customers coming in to collect their take-aways. This felt more like a café atmosphere rather than a restaurant but the prices were sky-high for what was not a great experience. There seemed to be quite a lot of regular customers collecting meals, and the phone did not stop for delivery orders, so that's a good sign that at least the food is good. We would not return for a sit-in meal and did not enjoy the experience at all. We paid almost £40 for 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 soft drinks. Some of the folk collecting their meals were offered free drinks etc for being kept waiting whereas the diners were offered nothing. I dread to think what this place is like when they have a full-house as I don't thing the staff or the kitchen could cope. We won't be making a return visit to this one.

We were back shangri-la , the food still so good, we ordered some Thai dishes this time , wow what surprise for us , the Thai green king prawns curry so taste and the coconut rice so delicious , the chef special duck plum sauce and salt pepper Tofu so so good . We so much enjoyed and the service excellent and made us very comfortable and we 100% come back and pass on to our friends and the price was reasonable , the restaurant made you very welcome

I visited this wee germ place with my partner last week and we had absolutely an amazing welcome. The owner Tina is such a friendly person and made our visit extra special. The food was amazing with some unique taste. My partner loves fish pot and we order that he said was the best fish pot he had for a long time. The owner also gave us opportunity to choose anything we like and she can ask the cheif to make it, so we asked for crab as a starter and was absolutely delicious. This is such a nice wee hidded place with all the fresh flavour of Chinese food with excellent atmosphere.

Been to this restaurant so many times. The owner and chef are so nice. Made something I like especially I am kind of fussy about my food. I already booked my Chinese New Year party there. Can not wait!

Hi, we were in Shanghai-la had birthday party , we were so much enjoyed the taste food, the crispy duck so delicious and taste. The Schuzan beef tast so good. And we had chef special I can't believe some the dishes I have never see it , the crispy almond prawns looking so beautiful and taste soooogood, also the staff servi is excellent and a little warm restaurant made all us so happy and relaxed, the food very fresh and good quality and price very reasonable and I can say quite cheap, and lots take way order and we will be back soon, we will 100% recommend to our friends, we had best birthday night in shangri-la , thanks again

I was putting up my Christmas decorations up and didn't have time to cook something so thought I'd order a Chinese from here, I was £45 and everything I purchased went in the bin. The chicken curry was too sweet, 2 chicken chow meins so dry it sticks in your throat, a beef sheuzan which was too watery and beef was rubbery, salt & chilli chips which where burnt and no chillis what so ever. Worst Chinese ever & would not feed this food to my pet animal!

Having been previously introduced to this fabulous little Chinese restaurant by a friend I took the opportunity to introduce another friend. Visited on Wednesday night and had a delicious meal. The duck pancakes to start are a dream and my friend is still enthusing about her crispy beef main!! I equally enjoyed my crispy chicken. We were very late arriving but Tina couldn't have been more welcoming and a huge thanks to the kitchen for working on and producing such delicious food. Two men came in quite some time after us and also got the same friendly welcome despite the fact it was almost closing time. We were assured there was no rush and were able to enjoy a lovely relaxed meal with great conversation with Tina. Wish this was my local Chinese!!

We visited The Shangri-La based solely on other Trip Adviser reviews and we where not disappointed.Our hostess, Tina, was absolutely lovely and couldn't have made us feel more welcome and I'd have to say it was the best Chinese food we have had in a very long time and very reasonably priced too. I wouldn't fault it at all and it has an amazing selection for Vegetarians

Went looking for excellent Chinese in Edinburgh & found it at Shangri-La!!The service was outstanding, where it felt like I was being welcomed by an old family friend. The food was delicious, and I can recommend the wonton soup as well as the salt and pepper pork ribs. Thank you for an excellent night!!

I ordered the takeaway from shangri-la, the staff very helpful with some dishes, and the crispy duck taste so good and prawn satay sauce taste so delicious, the fried jiao Zi so nice , I feel I can have this kind food every day , the services is excellent and the food quality so fresh and the price was very reasonable , and the restaurant made you are welcome , I can't wait next time , I will 100% recommended to our friends

I was visiting Edinburgh with a friend who discovered this fabulous Chinese restaurant ages ago and swears by it. Having heard so much about it from Jean I just had to go. Well I wasn't disappointed and actually insisted we eat there for the three nights we were in Edinburgh!! This isn't a fancy restaurant, quite homely surroundings but the most delicious Chinese food I've tasted, London included. Tina Tan the manager deserves a special mention - so friendly and welcoming and full of advice on what to choose. For me this is the nearest you'd get to eating with a Chinese family. Go, you won't be disappointed!!

Having visited this restaurant early evening on my own as my husband could'nt make it, my first impression was the friendly welcoming atmosphere, the food was of excellent quality and tasted delicious , the service was so relaxing and friendly by the cheerful lassie who I believe is called ying, I would highly recommend the shangri -la. And look forward to visiting again.

We visited on a weekday without knowing what to expect as we usually eat out only on weekends. It was early evening, but a very friendly lady instantaneously created a cosy and welcoming atmosphere for us. We told her that we're not big meat eaters and were recommended a potato dish, fried noodles together with Mabo Tofu, especially made for my spouse's mild preference. Knowing that we are not big meat eaters, the hostess kindly prepared some vegetarian appetizers. We liked all the dishes served and ate very well, though there was so much we couldn't finish everything (unusual for me).During our relaxed meal, it was interesting to watch the hostess interact with the customers; she was unfailingly cheerful, talking with everyone, in English or Chinese (quite a few Chinese people actually, so that's a good sign) It was obvious that she has good rapport with customers, especially those who are regulars. Quite a number of folk called, or came in, for take-away orders. We noticed that many asked for some personalisation; the cook was apparently very flexible, and arranged dishes according to customer preferences. We don't eat Chinese food very often, but it was a very pleasant experience dining at Shangri La. In fact, when we left, were amazed to realise that we had been there for over 2 hours

Went last night. I received the best services ever and the most delicious food. Love hot sour soup!! Everything tasted so fresh and not too salty or spicy. Had great evening and felt as comfortable as home. The price was reasonable as well. I will definitely recommend to my friends!!! Thank you.

Ordered from here a few times loved it the first but the last couple of times have been disappointing. This time I ordered a Thai red curry. When it came it didn't look much like a red curry and was quite bland in all honesty. I ordered a can of irn bru that didn't show up. I know it's a small thing but when you're paying for something you expect it to be there. Mixed starter was nice and so was my partners dish which was the mixed seafood. I don't think I will order a curry from here again.

We were groups in Shangri-la Saturday night , we were had special meal 7 , The soup tast so good, and crispy duck taste crispy and very fresh,and feel can have every day . And all our main course tast so delicious. and never tast crispy almond prawns, wow looking good and taste so good, and duck plum sauce so nice . And we had good time and services excellent , so comfortable and restaurant made you are welcome and the high quality food. reasonble price can't wait next time we back, we are 100% to recommend our friends, we will be back soon

Small Chinese Restaurant in northern suburb of Edinburgh. Much like any small place. We were attracted by high TA ratings. We found service was poor. Decor old and shabby. Food quality reasonable. Prices quite high for a low quality location and experience. Overall disappointed.

Excellent food and very friendly service. Extra special fuss made when Tina found out we were there to celebrate a birthday. BYOB for wine & fizz, very reasonable corkage charges.

Hi, we we're back with our friends , we ordered the special meal for 4 people , the salt pepper scallops taste so good and duck in plum sauce so delicious . Every time I have ordered food from here it has been delicious, always promptly made and a varied menu to choose from with a lot of choice! Usually I get a takeaway however I have sat in for food once. The restaurant itself is small and plain, but the staff are very friendly.

Read the excellent reviews of here so ordered expecting greatness but in the end it was all pretty straightforward with nothing bad but nothing exceptional. Would probably be better if you were in the restaurant itself which I may well try. So, decent, straight up and down Chinese food. You'll definitely have worse in a city blighted by poor restaurants in this particular cuisine and you may find better. I'll continue my search for better.

Hi. First time went this small restaurant. Put my take away order. And serviced by satff ,so friendly and helpful with all my order. And made me very welcome this restaurant and let me sitting down have free prawn crackers for waiting my order. And not take long get my food. Taste 100% fresh and good quality vaulm for money also 100% coming back for my next order

The food was good especially spare ribs tast so good and stuffed beef roll very tasty, the staff were very friendly and the service excellent, we will 100% recommended to our friends, we will back soon shangri-la

Very friendly staff. Good portions of good size prawns and lemon chicken great. Crispy aromatic duck good value as a starter. Good service Will come again.

Having grown up in Hong Kong as an ex-pat I can highly recommend Shangri la. The staff are always very friendly and the food is excellent and reminiscent of food I have had in Hong Kong. My favourite dish is the duck Cantonese style and my king prawn fried rice! Always a treat!

We went there for dinner after reviewing the good comments and we will not go there again! Food was tasteless! We have had much better chinese food elsewhere!!!
