What a great start in Edinburgh. Great broth, terrific noodles and lamb flank. It is a very basic place that turns over quick. Staff was helpful to confirm and correct our online order at our table.

The friendliest welcome we have had in our entire stay in Edinburgh at festival time. Our noodles and soups were delicious and fairly priced, but the hit was the staff, who went out of our way to make sure we were served quickly and could make it to our next show on time. Warmly recommended.

We love Noodles Home, live in Edinburgh and been coming for years, the food is authentic Chinese, excellent choice, hand pulled noodles, beef flank, fried chicken in dried chilli and Szechuan peppercorns our fave. Service is quick and very friendly. My son has a peanut allergy and they’re so lovely, double checking, communicating with the chef, making sure everything is okay. So fabulous. Highly recommended!

It’s a simple restaurant that does really authentic cooking, I opted for the lamb ribs hand pulled noodles. Honestly go back every other week because it’s so good.

Whenever you see a restaurant that has Asian cuisine which is flooded with Asian clientel... join the line! If you can ignore the simplistic decor you will eat the best food you have tasted... in your life! We had the beef udom noodles and the spare ribs bowl. The noodles marinated in a hot soup infused with ginger and garlic... WOW. In breezy and cold weather this place warms you up and sends you on your way.

Brilliant options for all the family and various diets. 3 had pulled noodles (1 dumpling noodle ramen, 1 pork rib noodle ramen and 1 chicken chow mein). These were chewy and delicious. Broth was flavoursome and meat plentiful. One vegan had the aubergine, peppers and potatoes. Delicious sauce with a tiny tail end kick. Also got some meat skewers (beef and prawn) and the cumin was delicious. Ages 4-9 all happy, as were parents. We were there pretty early (5.30pmish) and it got pretty busy after 6.

I've been coming here almost every week for the last 18 months or so. It's a hidden gem. The szechuan noodles with pork mince and peanut is my go to and it is absolutely addictive. Especially with added chilli crunch and black vinegar. Superb! Other highlights are the hand pull noodles with pork broth and dumplings, szechuan chilli fried chicken and the kung pao tofu. Always packed but doesn't take long to get a seat.

We stumbled across this eatery by chance during the Fringe festival as we were walking to a venue on Nicholson Street. Returned after our show to have a meal. The decor is simple but the food is deliciously authentic.

To anyone who has travelled to Asia, you will recognise this as 100% the real deal. I read some of the negative comments, utter nonsense. This is very high standard of noodles and Chinese cooking. I would say one of the best in Edinburgh. Noodle houses are famous for great location, great staff and great food. This is exactly what you get here. If you want true Asian Noodle and Chinese cooking experience. This is one of the best.

Noodle Home serves amazing Lanzhou Ramen with rich broth, tender noodles, and fresh toppings. The restaurant is clean and cozy, and the service is friendly and attentive. The waitress even checked on me to see how I liked the food. I highly recommend Noodle Home to anyone who loves authentic and delicious Chinese noodles. It’s one of the best places to eat in Edinburgh!

We read good reviews about this place and thought we'd give it a go. All looked promising as we headed up the stairs to the restaurant as the place was full (on a Tuesday!) and we were the only gweilos in the whole place. Unfortunately, thats were the promise ended. We both had a noodle dish, well that's what it is renowned for, and were both sorely disappointed. Portion size not a problem; huge. We could have easily shared one. It's the taste that's the problem; rather the lack of it. My wife's dish was supposed to be "spicey" and it wasn't. My dish came several minutes later than my wife's and was equally disappointing. We both actually got bored with them and gave up. They made a big deal about the noodles all being hand made...we have our doubts. The place's look is akin to a 1970's transports cafe. It's very much a "get them in/get them out" kind of establishment. This probably suits the clientele who looked all to be asian students from the nearby university, so the cheap price and the speed probably is a boon to them. Oh and the wine list is pretty much non-existent. So, top tip...beware of who leaves the reviews; what's great for students doesn't necessarily mean its any good! Many, many better asian restaurants in Edinburgh

Its easily to by pass this place, just across from the festival theatre. Just a door sits in the street level, which leads you up stairs to the restaurant. Its a casual set up , surprising very spacious with a large number of tables and stools, with restaurant split into three areas. We were greeted by staff as we entered and quickly seated at a table towards the right of the bar. We were given menus. It took as a while to decide what to have as there were many options, some unclear going by the basic descriptions. The menu is in simplyfied Chinese and English. On the table was chilli oil, soy sauce and black vinegar. Decided to order the Chongqing spicy ramen with beef. This had a lovely spicy kick, it contained peanuts a topping. And I think I tasted nuts though the rich broth. The slices of beef was tender. The won ton noodle soup came in a light broth and six won tons. The wontons were pork and found them a bit dry in texture. They also came in chicken. Langzhou ramen with lamb flank was a popular at our table. The lamb was tender and broth flavorful with a few slices of mooli. We preferred the texture of the handed pulled noodles, they had a nice bite to them. The hand cut texture weren't quite to our taste, they were slight thicker. So cooked tasted a bit under. Szechuan ma po tofu with minced pork, was ordered with a side of white rice. This was very spicy not from the dried chillies that were used but from the fresh Szechuan peppercorns . That popped in your mouth as you bit into them, which were slightly numbing. If you have not had them before they have a slight aniseed pepper flavour. The dish it self was very saucey, but not much pork it was very finely minced. The dish consistely mostly of tofu. Had I known the use of the peppercorns I wouldn't have ordered this as a dish for our family with young kids, who like spicy but not that sort of spice. With the menu giving simple descriptions, and not highlighting food allergies. You would need to speak to the waiters for help if you do have any food allergies. Overall the bowls of noodles were as filling as we thought. But at the price point of £10.80 it was ok. The toilets were very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had regarding questions we had to the dishes we ordered. A busy little place with many Chinese students and locals dinning here. I would visit here again if I was in the area. Our total bill came to £55 with three noodle dishes, main dish of ma po tofu , side of rice and four drinks.

We arrived at Noodle Home an hour before closing and the restaurant was packed. We were asked to wait but was seated after 5 mins. The restaurant was buzzing with chatter as people dug into their food. Our order was taken swiftly and the food came out just as fast. The flavors were amazing. We ordered Kung Po Prawns, prawn chow mein, Northern Aubergine and string beans with minced pork. Each dish has a unique flavor and just delicious. As other reviewers have mentioned, their homemade noodles were the best ever. They had a great texture and flavor. Not sure why there are negative reviews as I've been to this restaurant multiple times and everything has been great. Food and service! Highly recommended.

Wide choice of different dishes of homemade noodles, you can even choose the width of them. The food is so great and amazing that they made me come back the following day. It’s quite cheap as well. If you want excellent Asian food, in particular noodles, you have to go nowhere but to the Noodles Home!

Vicino alla stazione di Haymarket. Bisogna prenotare. Locale piccolo, frequentato da pochi turisti e da molti cinesi. Servizio rapido e cortese.

This restaurant was massively hyped on social media sites and we were looking forward to the dining experience. Unfortunately the food was bland and unappetising. It was also priced extortionately. Two soft drinks a starter and three mains was 86 pounds! Also did not like the waitress insisting that two mains was 'not enough' (it was) and the fact that there were four of them in such a tiny place. If you are a hipster and want to believe the 'Emperors New Cuisine' then go for it...
