I came to Edinburgh for a couple of days as a solo traveler and was looking for a place to have tea near my hostel. That’s when I found this wonderful spot. Indira is incredibly kind. The first time, I had a simple avocado toast, but it had a green sauce that gave it a delightful Latin twist. Plus, there are plenty of vegan 🌱 and vegetarian options. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for solo travelers. The pastries are really good, and the scones are just as delicious. I really recommend this place.

The food was great but I'm not interested in going back. The service was perfunctory, until we had finished eating. When I booked online I was given an hour and a half table slot. Half an hour before this was up, we were told they'd need the table back in 10 minutes, right after we ordered more drinks. Our bill arrived before the drinks, and the waiter kept looking at us as if to hurry us away. There was no one waiting for a table so we didn't understand why, and it was a bit of an uncomfortable end to our meal.

In Newhaven port we found this restaurant not far from where the tender leaves the cruisers. The restaurant was well presented and it had free tables and we were tempted by the fish & chips on the menu. The restaurant serves a variety of foods (mexican, indian plus some fish and meat dishes). So glad that we chose the fish & chips because It was a good portion, the fish was very fresh, well cooked and the batter was done well. The place is nicely decorated and was well heated for the cold day. The bill was very reasonable but we recommend checking it carefully.

My wife and I thought we would give this place a wee go as we only live a few miles away and it was a sunny Saturday morning. We ordered a bacon roll and a link sausage roll, my wife tries to order a fresh orange, then an apple juice and then a smoothie to which they were all sold out, at 10.30 on a Saturday morning 😳. She opted for a fruit based kids juice and I ordered a latte. Now the two rolls were £4.40 each and what we got after 20-20 minutes of waiting were burnt sausages and bacon on a cheap dry roll, disappointing is an understatement but there was absolutely no point in complaining as the cafes front of house is run by 2 girls that couldn’t be more disinterested if they tried. Definitely won’t be back!!!

Guys who ran the place were very creepy, kept talking dirty about customers in their own language (Turkish), food tasted really bad as if it was expired. The owners of the restaurant are Turkish, and they are the ones who run the place all the time, cursing the customers in their language, thinking that no one understands the Arabs in particular, far from their racism. The food was the most disgusting and smelled like garbage that honors grace.

Really nice mexican street food - an interesting short but varied menu, well flavoured and spiced. A special mention for the absolutely delicious berenjena tacos, and the jalapeno and coriander buck soft drink (which is fabulous and has a proper chilli kick). This aging goth loved the decor - make sure to check out the corridor to the bathrooms! Excellent, thoughtful and efficient service.

A lovely spot but limited options on the menu. We enjoyed a few starters and a cheese sharing plate. Unfortunately the staff were not unwelcoming, not in a rude way just not engaging or bothered. They lost at least 8 guests by not trying to get them to sit down or talking through the menu. A real shame as the food was tasty and offered good value. The downstairs loo is shared with the restaurant next door which meant a few people, from next door, got confused with which venue there were in. Quite funny to watch. In my view, the restaurant could have been fuller if the staff had interacted with people coming in. A real shame as service was good once the staff made an effort.
