My wife and I thought we would give this place a wee go as we only live a few miles away and it was a sunny Saturday morning. We ordered a bacon roll and a link sausage roll, my wife tries to order a fresh orange, then an apple juice and then a smoothie to which they were all sold out, at 10.30 on a Saturday morning 😳. She opted for a fruit based kids juice and I ordered a latte. Now the two rolls were £4.40 each and what we got after 20-20 minutes of waiting were burnt sausages and bacon on a cheap dry roll, disappointing is an understatement but there was absolutely no point in complaining as the cafes front of house is run by 2 girls that couldn’t be more disinterested if they tried. Definitely won’t be back!!!

I decided to order a child’s cheese and ham toastie for my lunch, which was 5.50. Already quite expensive for a CHILDS sandwhich, they originally were supposed to hand me a buzzer however they just handed me the receipt so I just waited a the pickup as I thought it would only take about 5-10 minutes and was happy to just stand there. 15 minutes pass and I still don’t have a buzzer or my toastie, the people I was with had to get back so they all went to the bus leaving only 2 of us waiting for our food. More and more people order and get there food will I’m still standing there waiting. 40 minutes pass since I ordered and I decided to just ask if they have even started as it’s a CHILDS MEAL which I thought would only take about 10 minutes maximum. They tell me they have started and give me a buzzer and try to tell me I can go and come back when it buzzes. I told them I was in a rush and needed to grab it and go. Eventually after around 45 after I’ve ordered and many people who have ordered after me and have been served, I am handed my tiny child’s toastie which is the WRONG ORDER. I was given a cheese toastie instead of the ham and cheese I had waited for for about and hour. Absolutely awful experience would never recommend. Foxlake in general (all the activities) is absolutely lovely and would recommend to a friend

Website said open from 9am. Turned up at 09:23 board said opens at 09:30. Left at 10am and it was never open. Lovely food but this is about the 4th time they’ve not been open when their media says they are. Too unreliable

This is a great cafe within Foxlake Adventure Park. Whether to have a coffee whilst watching the kids, or having some lunch, there is a short but tasty menu, I particularly enjoy there nachos!

Yesterday we held a 50th birthday party at Foxlake. Jacquie and her wonderful team did all the catering for 26 of us. We chose to have burgers and hot dogs and a selection of sides. Everything was delicious, the burgers and hotdogs were huge. We had huge bowls of homemade coleslaw and potato salad, spicy and normal potato wedges and bowls of crisps and salad with all the trimmings. Jacquie catered for my vegan, vegetarian and gluten free family with everything clearly labelled and everything served for us. We were then treated to strawberries and cream, chocolate brownies and my husbands favourite millionaire shortbread. The children had ice cream and loads of juice. We were given gallons of tea and coffee which was very welcomed after the freezing water at Foxfall. We all sat in the shack, it was really cosy with heaters and blankets supplied for us. We were looked after all afternoon and every request was met with a smile. Hot water bottles were even offered to keep my Mum and Father-In- law cosy. Jane and her daughter were so kind even bringing water out for Otter our dog.I can not recommend The Boardside Cafe enough for everything they did to make our day so special.

Fox lake has great activities for all the family, we however just went for lunch and were very happy with the choice and quality of fare whilst being entertained by people enjoying themselves on the water. Plenty tables and seats both inside and out.

Jacquie and team were happy to open up out with regular hours to accommodate our football team after an end of season activity on the foxfall. Great value food package was provided at the requested time. Food was tasty and fresh and the hot chocolates went down well with everyone. The team also provided us with a separate area to host a short trophy presentation. Communication was great before, during and after event. Staff were friendly and helpful. A good night had by all. Thank you.

Boardside cafe are introducing some new lovely dishes to their menu, me and my mate shared the beef tacos and chicken tacos, they were amazing, slow cooked meat, Siracha mayo and pickled red onions. The coffee and cakes were brilliant too. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!

Have always been a fan of the boardside cafe at Foxlake, especially on a nice day, as you can sit and look out over the lake whilst indulging in some great food. They are currently rolling out the new menu, and can thoroughly recommend the soft tacos.

The Boardside has to be on my list of best places to eat. I keep recommending it to friends because it's not an obvious one! You might think an adventure centre could get away with offering very average or even mediocre food, but this place does it in style. A fantastic menu of delicious home made dishes and home-baking, all presented in a really quirky style and set in a great location on the boardwalk next to the lake. They're open every day throughout the summer and I've spent a few afternoons there, basking in the sunshine, tucking into some of the delicious cakes, but they're also opening through the winter at weekends only, with rugs to keep you warm and piping hot bowls of soup and mugs of hot chocolate! Foxlake Wakeboarding Park has just been awarded 5 Stars for Excellence from the Scottish Tourist Board and you can really see why - the activities on offer, the location, the way it's run and most importantly the fantastic customer service across the board. You have to go!

Had a great lunch with family and dog at the lakeside. Does the sun always shine in Dunbar?! Been to this interesting cafe many times. Worth the drive on a weekend for an outdoor dinning experience in a fab location.

This is a little gem and put together with great care. Firstly the context, this is a small cafe attached to a wake park trying to do something a bit different and with a quality twist, it is not an inside venue with lots of room. They clearly make a lot of the products locally and have a great range of products for what they are working in a 'big shed' with a hatch. Very nice staff who care about what they are doing and who bring everything to you. Ok it can be a bit pricier than some but that's probably a price you have to pay for home baking and quality food and coffees. (Try Hillend for cheap!) As you are sitting out to eat the ideas of the boxes for food stop it blowing into the water is clever. We have eaten here all across this summer and it's great to have a quality operation in what is a challenging venue, partly due to its seasonality and space issues, so thanks for making it different. Recommend the nachos and the smoothies.....with a bacon roll on the side! with Pretzel and Almond Crossant to finish.

All beautiful home baking. Haven't tried their hot snacks but they look fab and are beautifully presented in little crates. They even have fresh lemon for my tea! Staff are really pleasant. A real find. Not the cheapest but definitely value for money.

We had a delightful lunch at East Coast Musselburgh today, choosing from their set menu. The restaurant is clean, contemporary, and tastefully decorated, which created a welcoming atmosphere. We both started with the mussels in a spicy tomato sauce that also served as a flavorful broth. The sauce had the perfect balance of heat and richness, complementing the fresh mussels. For mains, I opted for the Spaghetti Harbour, which was generously portioned and packed with clams and mussels. The seafood was cooked perfectly, and the dish was hearty yet refined. My wife had the King Prawn Calamari, which was served with a light, perfectly cooked batter, accompanied by crispy skinny fries, a fresh salad, and tartare sauce. She loved the combination of flavors and textures. We washed everything down with a refreshing Leith draught beer, which rounded off our meal perfectly. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and we felt well taken care of throughout our visit. The facilities were well-maintained, including spotless toilets, which is always a good sign. Overall, the meal was excellent value for money, and we left feeling satisfied and eager to return. I highly recommend East Coast for anyone looking for fresh seafood and a great dining experience in Musselburgh.

Literally just got up and walked out after reading the menu prices. We were here last summer for lunch, had one of the best bowls of Cullen skink soup to date, came back specifically for that today as in the area, only to find that for one bowl of soup as a starter was £9.95 or for a large bowl of the same is now priced at £15.95! FOR A BOWL OF SOUP! I know it’s a tourist hotspot, but take off your Dick Turpin masks No 12!!
