Carlo's Fish Bar & Restaurant in East Lothian

Bought the best pizzas 🍕, not had a pizza like that in years

The food was not the best! They had run out of gravy and beans! The fish was not the best quite soggy! Only went as we heard they catered for gluten allergies!

Ordered dine in small fish supper (fish and chips) no peas so ordered salad on the side. Found 2 flies alive running through the chips. Food exchanged. Battered fish very soggy not fresh probably frozen hardly any fish. Salt pots were damp asked for replacement. No tartar sauce? Fish shop ???? No apology from the owner/management and Service charge too much for quality of food. This establishment should not be called a fish bar the emphasis on menu is pizza kebab and burgers. Avoid as I feel so cheated abd disappointed. I should have left once I saw the flies!

I do not recommend this place. Small fish supper was frozen food and horrible. Place was dirty. Charged £3 for a side salad that was a bit of shredded lettuce and onion and 3 slices of a tomato. Service charge too much for such poor food. Feel cheated, ripped off and could hardly eat any of it.

We had large fish supper ,small fish supper and single fish to go. The single supper had a different batter from large fish supper which we thought strange .Fish has strange soggy thick batter and the fish was old and dry not quality fish at all. Chips were satisfactory nothing great though. Would avoid this establishment.

Quick, unscheduled visit to Port Seton with my wife resulted in a stop off for a meal.Excellent cuisine, served promptly by a friendly and efficient waitress.Food piping hot and reasonably priced.

Stayed with friends for a weekend had great take away food from here fish was lovely and we really enjoyed it hope to visit again soon

Had the spicy haggis and chips, was very tasty, wasn't expecting two of them so good value, would definitely go back if I am ever back in the area.

Although the place was quiet the staff was super nice,quick and food was delicious.

Mostly a local takeout place but dine in is available with lots of seating. Very reasonable prices and the food was delicious. Our server was great and very helpful. Lots of great options from pizza, to pasta to fish and chips. Everyone was happy! Just bummed that they were out of desserts by the time we arrived.

I can only recommend it, the burgers and pizza were great. Staff was very nice. If you want to eat well and cheaply, go there.

Some of the worst fish and chips we've ever had, soggy fish, hardly cooked chips and jumbo sausages that had clearly been sitting in the warming rack and then put back in the frier. One to avoid

Pizza was amazing, as soon as I walked in I could see the pizzas and bases been made

Choice of large or small fish and chips, we optited for the large and received a very good portion, the taste was very good with a nice crunchy batter, competively priced and better than most

On holiday at Seaton Sands , ordered on the app, great fish and chips , and a white pudding supper, highly recommended

We ordered large kebab to pick up....went in to pick up...all the young staff were eating behind counter.and serving u at same time...for a large kebab...we got one dish of kebab meat...2 sauces...1 pitta bread that you could break a window with...an a box o a sad looking salad.....wish i cld post a pic of what we got...never be back...staff were not very welcoming at all...wont be back

Got a 10 inch cheese and tomato pizza and a large donner kebab and I was not impressed at all tonight the pizza was not even cut up and the cheese was stuck to the inside of the box just looked rushed and the kebab was not worth £9every was done sperate the kebab meat was greasy the pitta was hard there was hardly any salad at all will not be going back

Used this place several times on our visits to the area , dined in and have had take out....never fails to impress.

Really good food, generous portions, with a wide ranging menu from fish and chips to Italian and quite a large dine in area. Not a fancy place but very clean and friendly staff.

Only order a small chips. Most of them were thrown out because they were dreadful. Never again.

Tried our first night at Seton Sands caravan park. Due to be new to area/location wasn't sure on what was around and the sites restaurant was well over priced. The food was average, Donner tasted a little funny, more like a microwave burger but worse. The service could of been better, just a smile would of done and the price for what we ordered seems way to steep, Try Bene's down the road near B&M, you won't be disappointed

Carlo's makes everything you could think of! And does it well. Food was delicious, prepared in a timely manner and customer service was great. Would buy again if we are ever up there!

Really good fish & chips and pizza. Fish was lovely and best chips I’ve tasted in ages- not greasy at all. Pizza v tasty. All in all, way better than same order from Alandas in Prestonpans a few weeks ago! Lovely staff and great service too.

Seating area was partially closed and certainly didn't feel like it was fully open for business. Service was good, food OK. Expensive enough for takeaway served to a table- including bottles of juice it was nearly £40 for 3 people.

Food was horrible. Pizzas were burnt and topping fell off as soon as you picked up a slice. Disgusting

We were staying nearby and fancied a pizza so came across Carlo’s. Great choice. Pizzas were excellent. Recommended.

Food is always excellent. Service is also excellent. Carlo is always happy to see you. We hadn't been on holiday at Seton Sands for three years but he still remembered us.... that's quality of service... can't rate highly enough.

Fish suppers were absolutely delicious- batter on the fish was light and crispy, proper chips too! Just be aware if you are ordering for delivery to Haven the campsite itself doesn't allow delivery drivers onto the site any longer so you need to go the entrance to collect your food.

Disappointed with the quality it’s normally excellent.

Thoroughly enjoyed our take away, we had two pizzas and a kebab and it was delicious. Kebab was flavourful and both pizzas had generous toppings and cheese and the base was excellent. I recommend Carlo's and service was quick and friendly!

Called in for tea tonight with my brother...2 fish suppers...really nice place ..friendly staff food was first class and at a great price...will be going back in the future that's for sure..

Amazing pizza, really fresh, perfect amount of toppings, could include donna meat on meat feast. Great kebab wraps not drowned in sauce like other takeaways. Absolutely stuffed with meat. Burger was on top form as well. Well recommended 👌

We had breaded fish and chips which we ate at the harbour. As always very tasty and well presented - - - Of course we'll be back!!

Mixed emotions on this one.. They had no fish! And it was only 18:30 so very disappointed 😞, staff were friendly and the food we did order was lovely. Shame about the fish because they would of definitely got a 5*

Food was lovely, we paid and our party left to get a seat on the front, so I stayed to get our order and meet them. I had spent in excess of £30 and it was a stack of box's and too much for me to carry , I asked please could i have a bag and was asked for 10p. I had no money on me and said sorry they have all gone and I don't have any money on me . I was met with a blank look and the girl repeated 10p. So I gathered my stack (yes I dropped 2 lots). So no I won't go back, most bloody unhelpful.

Amazing portion sizes, definitely a large kebab would be okay to share, proper chip shop chips too! Only issue is the salad was lacking, a lot of lettuce and a single slice of tomato? Overall all the meats in the mixed kebab were amazing, also the pizzas looked amazing from the proper pizza oven too, if you're stopping at the haven site, go here and not the on site fish and chip shop! If we come here again we'll definitely go to Carlos! Thanks!!

Lovely staff, unfortunately the food wasn't too great. The fish was really soggy and the chips were hard. My son got a battered sausage supper and sausage was really small, not like one you'd usually get.

Great fish and chips, ate them on the promenade across the road, best way to eat them. Would go again.

Normally order via deliver foods always nice but call up to make a collection @9pm to be told by the lady on the phone she would need to check if grills are still on to then hear "Carlos" shouted repeatedly and then hear an argument about some one else order to do with missing sauces and then who I assume is Carlos tell them no so I ended the call for some one to try call me back but I was busy making an order to collect from another chippy so swiped off the call a big hint if you ask me to then get another call back from a guy saying I think we got cut off..... nah grills should be on till closing and shouldn't need to be told to wait to see if things are on so I can make my order very disappointed tonight

One of the better Fish and chips in the Edinburgh area. I was here for the second time and I will probably come back. The staff tries not to wait long for the order to be fulfilled. This is a very big plus, as are the friendly employees. The girl who took the order was very nice and helpful. I don't know about other dishes, but I recommend Fish and chips. Thank you.

Good fish and chips - really fresh. The only complaint I have was the brown sauce was a little thin. The young lady on the door ( due to COVID restrictions) was excellent - happy, friendly, chirpy, acknowledging the queue and apologising to those waiting. She was the perfect person to have front of house.

Ordered doner kebab wrap chips curry chips staying caravan up here must say the food was good.

Excellent chippy, nice servers, and very clean restaurant/kitchen. Visiting the area from England and I always love trying the different food available this side of the border and everything I’ve had here has been very tasty. Special mention to the white pudding supper which was delicious and cheap.

I drive by this establishment quite often while out cycling or driving and on a warm summer evening, I just had to nip in for a fish supper to scoff while watching the sunset along the sea shore. I wasn't disappointed. The selection on offer is very good. The only annoying thing is the teenagers that hang about outside the shop and think it's cool to slag off a young girl who was physically disabled and had trouble getting by the group that had gathered. Shame on you for the barrage of hurtful comments most of you made! I would have given a higher rating but for the group that I continually see gathered on my travels.

Not too bad, relatively new and the food is pretty decent.

Stopped off at Carlos on Fish and Chips day and i was not disappointed. Both my husband and i had Special fish and it had the most beautiful white flesh. Cooked to perfection and we will certainly return.

Visit carlo's everytime im up caravan, wouldn't go anywhere else food is to die for.

Decent fish and chips place in port Seton. Value for money is good. Chicken and fish suppers are good here, however pastas and pizzas are a hit or miss. Good service and friendly staff.

Best fish supper I've had in years kebabs and pakora are great too,nothing was greasy. Was served quickly by a friendly young girl with blonde hair. We will definitely be back.
