Barburrito Forrest Road in Edinburgh, City of

I used to really like this place, but boy oh boy they have taken shrinkflation to the extreme. My california burrito cost £9.75 and was just a bit bigger than an empty toilet roll tube, and about as filling. When I finished it 90 seconds later, I wondered if I had missed my mouth. I'll miss this place, but there is just no value anymore.

Had lunch here with 2 people. Both had Burrito's made fresh at the counter. Flavor was good, the staff was very friendly, pricing was fair so we leave a happy pair! The interior is also very nice to sit and look at, very clever use of older materials for seats etc. Would recommend for a quick lunch in Edinburgh!

Burritos are not something I have much experience of but I’ve really enjoyed the food I’ve had at the Forest Road branch in Edinburgh. I don’t know my way around it as there’s so many fresh options to choose from but Matthew always guides me to make good choices!

We ordered Barburito on a wet and rainy night in Edinburgh…. The food was eventually delivered after an hour and a half…. The food was very tasty, but probably due to the time it took to deliver was lukewarm when it arrived. The place would definitely get 4/5 stars if the food was hotter and arrived sooner

Love this place, I love Mexican food and this place does it really well for a great price. Huge choice and portions are really generous especially the loaded burritos. Been to a couple of different branches but always find the service really fast and friendly in here and food always tastes fresh.

Ordered through Uber eats. My order was missing fries and Coke. The delivery driver informed us that he was only given one bag. When I contacted the restaurant they said they separate hot and cold food into different bags (doesn’t make sense as cold dips arrived with our burritos and that would mean hot chips were with the coke). We asked for the missing items to be delivered and the restaurant refused asking us to collect in person as the only option. The staff member Matt who is apparently the manager, was extremely rude on the phone, he was sexist and condescending and he referred to me as “sweetheart” on the phone. He talked over me and interrupted - every time we put forward a solution of the restaurant sending out the missing items he said to me “so you want me to use my own money to send you your missing items?” Like it was a completely unreasonable request that we asked for the food and drink we paid for. He sarcastically thanked me for making his evening so wonderful. I really hope Matt is okay and that he gets support for personal development, unless he is truly comfortable in how he conducts himself as a manager - all that over a fries and coke. The whole experience was upsetting and I will not recommend anyone giving business to this company. Particularly if you are a woman. No resolution to the situation, they have charged me but will not deliver the order.

During Fringe, we visited this place amidst the crowd! The portions are huge and flavours great. We had the nachos, fries and a burrito with a beer. Overall good place, a bit expensive, but great flavour!

Rico el burrito pero pagar casi cuarenta mil pesos por un par de burritos con unas coca cola me parece increíble. Lo siento no tengo fotos para este local. Rápido y sabroso como toda comida rápida pero no vale el dinero gastado la verdad. Claro: cuando has caminado harto, tienes hambre y quieres ir al baño este puede ser una alternativa para salir de la emergencia.

The first disappointment was no cash only card ( very discriminatory) luckily my friend had a card. The second was the sickly barely warm food - I ate 1/3 and left the rest. Being the heart of Edinburgh's tourist area you would think they would have patience with people whose first language is not English - you would be wrong. On the plus side, it does get one star for the very nice and clean toilets.

Overpriced and blunt in taste. You have to pay for almost any extra topping, which in other places would be included in the price. not worth the price.

We were in Edinburgh for the rugby, and decided to give this place a try. The staff were great at working us through the menu, even tho they were busy.

Possibly one of the most amazing meals I have had in Edinburgh. The customer service at barburrito goes far beyond as staff are not only extremely friendly but also very helpful. When we told the staff that we had never had a burrito before they were more than happy to explain everything to us and let us try certain ingredients. My husband has a nut allergy and the staff very kindly guided us through their allergy booklet and cleaned down the line to acomodate his allegy. The area at the back of the restaurant is very vibrant, spacious and even has a ping pong and foosball table. The food was incredible, from the chicken wing and fries starter we had to the burritos and amazing churros desert. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definitely be returning.

The customer service was beyond par, we weren't sure about some of the meats so the staff let us taste them. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy with our meal and even gave us free guac and a brownie for our little one. We asked to use the baby changing facilities and the staff directed us to it and then once we were done cleaned the whole station. This was very comforting to see! The food and space very great as well as the staff. Will defo be back next time we're in Edinburgh and would highly recommend!

Amazing staff, and great food! The staff were all friendly and even with it being slightly busy did their best to give us an amazing experience. Food was great, and although it looks small from the outsode had a large seating area through the back with ping pong and foosball tables. Tables were all well spaced out for comfort and staff regularly came and sanitised the tables. We didnt realise they did deserts too until someone shouted for churros. Will be back again

The staff is very nice, food is very bad. Possibly some of the worst wraps I have ever had. Soda fountain is not cold and has incorrect ratios of cordial and carbonated water. On the plus side their desserts are delicious.

Really brilliant service. I bought the new quesaritta to try and didn't like it. The serving team very kindly swapped it for my usual superfood burrito without any fuss. I normally hate approaching servers about this kind of thing, but the team on when I visited were super friendly and helpful, and my superfood burrito was excellent. I didn't catch any of their names, but I visited at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday 26th January. 😁

Food was cold/ room temperature and I found cartilage in my chicken, after 3 piece I was so puted off and I didn’t finish the burrito :(

Personally not a fan of Mexican food but the vegan chicken burrito was really good. Didn’t really like the beef burrito on the other hand.

Although it should be called Barrito, this place is great, its a subway-like setup so stand to the back if you want time to figure out your order rather than being consumed by the anxiety of being asked quick-fire what you want. Anyway the vegan chicken is great, definitely recommend, they don't have vegan cheese but there are vegan sauces! Very filling, got a burrito and nachos and had to take the nachos home because the burrito was so filling :)

Ordered through Deliveroo, found a fly stuck in the cheese of cheesy chips. Probably going to avoid in future as it seems like they need to work on their food hygiene at Forrest Road. Side note: incredibly stingy with the guac but considering what we found in the cheese it was perhaps a blessing lol.

Barburrito was as tasty and efficient as it ever was. I used to go pretty frequently and hadn't been in ages so I was feeling nostalgic but the food was good and it was made as quickly as usual.

The food it's normal but the staff, specially the ginger girl, are quite rude. Sometimes is not just about the food so I can't recommend this place at all because of the staff.

It was ok, didn't fill the wraps enough, no soap in the toilets either, and think it is over priced for what you get, food was nice though and the staff though one member was really shouty!

Working in edinburgh outside and walking a lot so worked up an appetite! Needed something quickly made so nipped in after often driving past. Wow!!! I couldnt actually finish it i was so full. The burrito was packed with filing and super tasty, next time i will try the hotter salsa as there will definitely be a next time!

Food was brilliant 👏. The girl who served us was call Kate she was amazing so helpful very professional in her job . We thought she was the manager but she said she was just a worker. I think if this company has any sense they will make her a manager and soon . The shop was clean , toilets could do with work not the best for a shop that size . Had to Q to get into Gents . Usually I love this place. But I just had a burrito and it was a large. Makes no difference toppings are so stingy, Never had rice but still had to pay extra for veg, staff seemed like they just couldn’t be bothered at all. A sprinkle of cheese. Guac is £1. So almost £10 and I’m still hungry.? Miss the one on Lothian road

Was having a bad day, need to cheer myself up with some Mexican food and a beer. My first time at this eatery and find it is like a Mexican Subway - build your own burrito with all the ingredients in front of you, interesting! The staff lady leant that I was having a bad day and offered me a discount and free churro to cheer me up. I was all teared up! This is a happy meal in Barburrito style! I left the shop all good and ready to fight on. Thanks to the staff lady!!! Will definitely eat here again.

La comida no es muy variada, pero hay bastantes toppings para poner en los burritos. Las porciones son generosas y los precios están bien por lo que te dan. El servicio no es de los más rápidos, pero si tienes ganas de burritos relativamente baratos y estas cerca, este lugar es una buena opción.

My girlfriend and I ordered a burrito meal deal. The burritos arrived but not the sprite or the churros. We phoned the restaurant and we were told that we can just phone deliveroo and ask for a refund. When we phoned deliveroo they informed us that actually we can even get the missing items delivered, this was never mentioned by the restaurant. After 40 Minutes we got the churros, this time they forgot our drink… dude…

Chips arrived stone cold and chewy. Burrito was sweaty, sticky and lukewarm. Managed two bites, however it was incredibly bland and the texture made me feel queasy. *delivery

Just ordered from them; a bowl with vegan chicken which was superb, the fries on the other hand were in no way enjoyable, smelled and tastes a lot like they were fried in the same oil as meat. Not very impressed, but will say though that I enjoyed the bowl and will give the place another try as there other mains sounded good.

Bar burrito is by far my favourite burrito restaurant. The fact that they have This isn’t Chicken (which tastes better than actual meat !!) is honestly a game changer. I go there quite often as I tend to crave their burritos. Its a must go if you like burritos 🤤🌯 Service is great, and they also do delivery 🌻 can’t get any better than this burrito bar.

Loved the food, good portion size and really liked the amount of choices. The fresh churros with cinnamon sugar and with a caramel sauce for a dip were the best.

Had a great visit on 23rd of November despite coming quite late and what seemed to be a busy time. We were served by a tattooed girl in a blue tshirt . Queued for a very short time but were still apologised to for the wait which was nice. It was our first time so I didn’t know what to expect but the portions were good for the price. The burrito was still quite hot even though we got it to go and ate at the train station. Even got a student discount which was a bonus. Would come back if in town

Staff at the counter appeared uninterested, rolling their eyes and extremely unwelcoming. We were asked if we wanted to sit in, then told to fill out the track and trace which we were told in a very rude manner. Will not be returning again.

My girlfriend got food poisoned from cross contamination from the mushrooms because they use the same spoon for everything.

Worst customer service ever I've seen!! We went to Barburrito for lunch today at 12pm during our a day trip to Edinburgh. The front staff (tall, blonde lady) was so rude with me while taking order. I am glad that I kept myself calm. I have seen her speaking with two other deliveroo driver very rudely. I wish I could give Zero rating for customer service!! I usually like Burritos but I couldn't enjoy my lunch as I was shocked by her behaviour!!
