An amazing pre-dinner meal served by Marta. Really quick, attentive service and beautiful fresh food. Would definitely recommend for friends and family trips!

Honestly average food and great service. Waiter was attentive and explained how the restaurant worked very well. Was disappointed to see an average soft drink or bottled water was £4.75 ! Seeing this we just decided to get some tap water after we made this decision our server seemed quite annoyed we didn't spend any money on drinks. My Mother ordered 2 sets of tacos and I ordered the chicken burrito. The burrito was quite bland and wasn't much too it merely rice and chicken no sauce or veg. The tacos were presented well and tasted great but for £14 (for both sets of tacos) it was neither filling nor worth it. When we wanted the bill it was all online and done by a QR code. The process was quite simple yet to our disgrace there was a 10% tip on and the only way to remove this was to ask the Waiter but we felt too embarrassed and petty to ask. If they really want the money give customers an option. Average food but we will not be coming back. Please get in touch wahaca.

Got a delivery on Deliveroo tonight and got a call to say they sent a wrong item and to say on the app so they could refund, but the food was delicious fair enough needed 30 secs to reheat it, and I didn't complain on the app as it was so good, next time we'll visit the restaurant

Every dish from tacos to quesadillas were fantastic! first time here but won’t be the last. Michael gave amazing service and kept us topped up with drinks the whole time. Great place!

Ehen first greeted by Aleks, ask for a table served by either Noelia or Marina. Such great service by all three. Friendly, warm and knowledgeable. When Aleks tells you that the sauce is hot, believe her lol. Our compliments to the chefs, also. You have to include this establishment on your places to dine at, when visiting Edinburgh.

The lady at the door managed to squeeze me in and I was very happy with my visit. Mara was wonderful and enthusiastic about the food and drink, helping me choose and discover new things. Try the Michelada - such a good find. It’s lovely to see everyone having a nice time at work, the music was good and all the staff were creating a great vibe. Come here!

Food was excellent , no complaints about it . However the staff member who was taking care of our table was so rude . She kept on reminding us about table timings that booking is for 1.30 mins & was giving us really annoying look while serving food . It was quite annoying. If you want to have nice chill time with friends , then avoid this place .

Matheus adapted to me as a solo and showed me which parts of the menu fit my diet. Food came quickly: I had the quac and tortillas- more oniony than expected but moreish. Then the pilbil (highly reviewed) and I took home the beef taco and the cauliflower bites. The beef + pork tasted the same. Not bad, but not brill. The cauliflower bites are okay (as a non-liker of cauliflower) but the aioli is stand out. If the service is as good and the food is as okay as this time, I might visit again. The ‘very good’ is a result of the service.

Do not try here if you have any special requirements We ordered a cocktail and beer before our meal After just having surgery for cancer I cannot tolerate bread / rice I tried to order from the menu and asked could I please have my order with no rice or bread to be told no by a waitress Then a polite manger arrived who explained head office do not allow you to change anything on the menu as it will effect the texture of the meal … ridiculous Staff were polite and friendly although they did go round in circles trying to get me to order things I didn’t want nor could eat We had to give up and say we wouldn’t be eating The manger offered the drinks on the house while that was acceptable considering, we didn’t sit down to drink we were there for food This seriously needs addressing i find it hard enough to eat out without this sort of embarrassing situation that could and should be avoided

Fantastic Menu full of wonderful flavours and great staff always ready to help. Thanks to Tam who serve our table and big applause to the chefs for making every plate a journey to other worlds!

Have ordered delivery a few times previously, but came in for dinner prior to a show. Very pleasantly surprised for a “chain”. Much bigger than it seems from outside, and a really great ambience with current Latin music playing. Restaurant was full and busy, but service very efficient and food served promptly. Waitress was really attentive and took the time to go over menus and specials despite how busy it was. Service very good overall. We ordered a couple of cocktails each which were generously sized and priced, and very tasty - some great house choices, really enjoyed the margaritas especially. Food was all excellent, we ordered a selection of small plates and street food - all very tasty and cooked perfectly. Served tapas styles so arrives as it is made, The quality of the ingredients is really noticeable - the tacos are a favourite. Desserts really good as well and enjoyed some churros (these seem to be very popular).

We have been to a few Mexican restaurants and this one is one that we wouldn't return to. It is in a great location however the menu is very limited compared to other restaurants in the area

The sundae is amazing, the nachos too, and the cauliflower was to die for, crispy, crunchy with a gorgeous garlicky dip. the sweet potato was perfectly cooked too the chicken and avocado wraps came with an oil of some kind that dripped down my arm, do I wouldnt suggest it if you're wearing anything long sleeved that you need to keep clean. Delicious? Definitely. All the food from the street food menu was delicious, and the burrito my friend had looked crispy, cheesy and delicious too.

I’ve been here a few times now and every time has been a good experience! I’ve been with just my partner and also with a larger group and the food and service is always good. It’s a good choice for larger groups as the menu has a decent variety of food and can cater to many different needs. The cocktails here are also lovely and I haven’t been disappointed with one yet. Highly recommend coming here, but if it’s an evening you’re thinking about I’d book just in case as it can get busy!

We were pleased to find this place for lunch on our last day in Edinburgh and were sad there isn't one closer to our home in West Yorkshire. Great food and very good service.

Nous aurions aimé qu’il y ait une indication claire sur les plats épicés pour permettre à tout le monde d’y trouver son compte. Cependant, tout était très bon sauf peut-être le houmous, très différent de ce que l’on trouve habituellement dans les restaurants.

I love wahaca. Have been a few times and had delivery multiple times over the years. The sweet potato bravas is stunning and my favourite dish on the whole menu. The chorizo quesadilla was amazing too. I will say, they have changed the fish taco to have a fish finger rather than the fish that it used to be. Was pretty disappointing. Please go back to the old way.

Awesome food , service & atmosphere. Matheus our waiter was excellent. We had mixture of tacos & burritos and was as good as I've had anywhere in the UK. Will definitely visit again.

The Mexican place to go to when you are in london we loved to so much that we went here 3 times in the period of 15 days and was feeling it has potential to call us more and more . Loved the ambiance and the food has some fresh ingredients and you can feel in the taste . We have been there around xmas time so the place was super buzzing . Loved the guy waiting on us and he was super friendly. Love the idea and so happy that allergies are taken seriously and they ask you and know you well and do their very best to make sure that it doesn’t trouble you.

They squeezed us in without a reservation, and our waitress Mara was absolutely fantastic.

It wasn't quite as good as it was my first time. They were clearly short-staffed and we waited some time for our reserved table. The staff were apologetic about this. Our server tried his best, but the service wasn't great. The dishes were mixed quality. Some were lovely and others a bit cold and haphazard. I'm not sure we'll be back.

With the run up to Christmas in full swing I can forgive the slow service & confusion with our drink orders. The food was very good & great value, we thought, left feeling full! Can certainly recommend this for casual dining.

My expectations were very high, and they were met with flying colours. My ancho mushroom and jalapeño tacos were particularly spectacular, and my friend raved about her chicken rainbow bowl. The service was professional and non-intrusive, yet cheerful, and lifted our spirits. I loved the atmosphere as well, informal and friendly. The food is not at all too hot, even for somebody who dislikes any hot food. I shall be back very soon.

Decent food, good selection of drinks, services was good, super friendly and helpful. We were in a group with one allergen requirement their meal came out a good 10 mins before everyone else's, so they basically had a choice eat alone or eat it cold. One couple in the group ordered the favourites sharer and one of the dishes was delayed / had to be asked for. Non of this really distracted from decent feed and atmosphere.

The food was amazing, some of the best Mexican food I’ve had. The visit was let down by poor customer service from a specific waitress sadly. I did email Wahaca but got no response, which is a shame as this was our first visit and it’s put a dampener on it.

Visited with a friend. My friend's food was fabulous and they raved about everything. Mine was ok. I had the enchiladas. The sauce was runny and a bit bland. The filling of the enchiladas contained far too much chorizo and very little chicken. Wouldn't order that again. Stick to the tacos - they are fab!

Really disappointed with Wahaca. Turned up with the family for some Mexican food to be told they can't seat us unless we have a booking despite the restaurant not being busy. Realising that i looked round and the place is quiet the lady followed this up with we have a problem in the kitchen and can only accept prebooking. So much for good service. . . Unfortunately becoming the norm these days.

Our experience was great as it was our first visit. The staff were lovely and helpful with explaining the menu, the food was excellent and atmosphere was really nice. We would definitely recommend Wahaca and will return.

My food came very quickly, enchilada shell had almost disintegrated possibly due to it being prepared in advance? Also remove the optional service charge and let patrons tip, nothing like ruining a meal by being made to look cheap because you don't agree with American tipping customs. EDIT: Of course you have missed the point. I don't want to even have to think about needing to deal with a forced social interaction to remove your forced tip. If it really mattered to you then add the option to remove this at checkout or better yet remove it all together and place an add tip function instead. An enchilada that size isn't made fresh from scratch in 10-15 minutes, corners are being cut and it shows in the food. Take this on board instead of arguing.

I could say the meal at this restaurant is really good. I discovered some dishes are very spicy, but the spicy is so nice and sweet. The waitress was really nice with us and she gave us really good attention. I recommend that restaurant.

Nuestra primera vez en esta cadena de restaurantes, no hablamos muy bien inglés, por lo que cuando nos sentaron nos dijeron que nos mandarían a alguien que hablase español, llegó Noelia, muy agradable y profesional nos informó de los platos, nos hizo un par de recomendaciones, y a comer! A giudicare dalle recensioni la brutta esperienza è stata un colpo di sfortuna. Eravamo in cinque,burrito con aggiunta di guacamole (regolarmente addebitata),guacamole inesistente e burrito con pollo asciutto e secco,dal sapore estremamente carico di spezie. Il problema è stato a partire dal rientro in albergo,durante la notte ed il giorno dopo siamo stati malissimo tutti e cinque. Per quanto ci riguarda pessima esperienza e se si è trattato di un caso (che fortunati!),consiglierei ai titolari di controllare meglio quello che viene conservato o servito.

We walked in without a reservation and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. They found us a spot and the server Mara was especially lovely as she explained to us how everything works, and even gave us recommendations. The food was incredible!! We each had 3 street food dishes which we shared. Lots of variation and enough to fill you up without feeling you’re going to explode. The right amount of fullness. They have main dishes but thanks to the street food platters you can experience a variety of different food. Food wasn’t too spicy as well! The atmosphere is lovely. A lot of Dia de los Muertos decorations, very vibrant, a lot of plants to give you that Mexican feel. Highly recommend :-)

I would come back to Edinburgh just to eat here again. Honestly. We went for the Veggie set menu and it was amazing. A lot of food to share, great taste, smell, colours.. the whole decoration as well, everything spotless and well made. Cheers for the staff, specially one of the waitress and the gentleman at the door.

Some of the best enchiladas I’ve ever had! We went on a weekday afternoon so the restaurant was very quiet but I imagine on a weekend it’s very lively as the place is huge. Our server explained the menu to us very well and we felt like we were being taken care of. You can also pay your bill through the QR code which is genius as it means you can avoid waiting to pay at the end! They also do free refills of tortilla chips so you can share with your friends! I’ll definitely come back as this would be a great place to spend a birthday or special occasion.

Quick Google maps search and I found this place. Food was amazing especially the guacamole which the waitress suggested (think her name was nicola) Great Service. Big fan of Mexican and this was one of the best places I've been to. I will be back. Definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Mexican street food

Generally food and service is very good as is their menu choices with regard to allergens. There is a separate menu for Gluten allergy which further highlights food that has no gluten and food which has potential for cross contamination. As I have coeliac disease took care to order from the selection which is totally gluten free. The policy is further safeguarded by the server calling for the manager to take the order who then informed that my food would arrive with a red flag to denote that it was gluten free and that dishes may arrive at different times as a result. The first dish arrived with a red flag with a W written on it and was put down in front of me which I started to eat whilst awaiting the remaining dishes. When the next dish arrived it also had a red flag, however it had the word allergen, it was at this point that it became apparent that I had started to eat the wrong dish. Upon further questioning it would appear that all dishes come with a flag of some description. There was minimal difference between the one for "normal" food and the allergens- one one being slightly pinker in colour but both essentially are red. I assume that there may be others to denote vegan etc. The manager apologised profusely and at the time I played it down as a result of the otherwise good service and food. Today I am however extremely unwell with the aftereffects of exposure to gluten which I have no tolerance at all. I feel that is so unfortunate that despite all the clear awareness this company has to allergens it was completely let down by something as simple as their flags and indeed the server that brought the food to the table not sufficiently aware enough to ensure that the right food went to the right person.

Marta is an incredible server! She was friendly, outgoing, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind. The food and drinks were amazing and there were MANY vegan options, but overall I would return again just to see Marta!!! Thank you for making our trip to Edinburgh special, you are a gem 🤩

Came in for some churros and was not disappointed! Instantly directed to 'click and collect' which provided speedy service and some very tasty churros and the staff are so lovely and accommodating - 10/10 and a hug 🫂🩶

Went for the lunch date for the first time. Noelia explained everything very well and recommended everything in detail not like other restaurants not considering their customers. Had some yummy veg Burito and Tacos. It is not even expensive. Had a really nice experience.

Basically fast food. Served too quickly, too many dishes at once, most of it was lukewarm and began to taste the same after a couple of dishes. (Hardly surprising since the table booking was only good for an hour or so). Better off at mcdonalds, where at least I expect to be in and out in an hour and to have kids screeching all around. EDIT: Also got a really cheeky reply from Scott to my review. Can't respond directly to him, so here we go... We had the process explained to us and were not advised we could stagger dishes, they just arrived. Even when there was no room on the table, food was piled on dirty plates. Being a teacher who lives in edinburgh, I am well aware of both holidays and festivals. No other restaurants I've been to have had this problem, but Scott seems to be struggling. Go to El Cartel or La Toppa la Bamba and give the Wahaca staff a break. Poor wee lambs.

Simply amazingly good, the tacos are great and the tortilla chips with refills are incredible as well. The churros are very tasty as well and a must if you go here and have space for a dessert.

Excellent food, good service. Only issue was 1 dish for a table of 6 took a good bit longer than the rest, seems like an unusual occurrence. Staff are friendly and welcoming, most seem to be of the Spanish speaking persuasion which adds to the authentic atmosphere. Would definitely come back.
