We had a fantastic evening! The waiters were excellent—very attentive and friendly. We really liked the concept of small plates: smaller portions where you order two or three, making it easy to try different dishes. And the churros at the end were absolutely delicious—definitely the best dessert ever! Highly recommended!

The waiters here are really helpful! They suggest great food and make sure you have a good experience. They’re also patient and don’t mind answering any questions you have. Overall, the service is excellent!

It is a nice, modern restaurant with good food and service. The service was good, the food came quickly and well, as well as the drinks. One thing that could be improved would be the music, which should be more Mexican in style and with a better atmosphere, but the decor is still good. I recommend the restaurant for a delicious meal with friends or family.

Great food, good price, friendly staff

Food was amazing and staff (specially Matteo) very friendly ;-). Personally I think it was a bit cold were we sat and music a bit too loud, but overall great experience. I will definitely go back whenever I am in town again.

Wahaca Edinburgh never disappoints, the Mexican food is authentic, the margaritas are properly mixed & delicious; the service is super friendly and just a lovely place to eat. Totally recommend!

I’m surprised by the rating—it deserves to be higher! I came in for the meats but was blown away by the vegan options—so flavorful and satisfying. The food was fresh, vibrant, and delicious. Best Mexican restaurant in Edinburgh

Staff were friendly and took time to explain the menu. There is a nice selection on the menu, we chose the small plates - choose 2 or 3 and they're sharable. If you have room for more then, you can order another cheeky small plate! A great place for lunch lively atmosphere.

I was visiting from Phoenix, AZ, known for its Mexican food and this place did not disappoint! The staff was wonderful, the food was delicious with high quality products at a reasonable price. A fun spot to grab dinner with friends, great atmosphere.

Visited the Edinburgh restaurant. Absolutely delicious and very authentic!! We will be coming back. Wish they had another one in Glasgow.

We had no idea that in the total amount payed we would have to pay an extra 20% Tax and Service was included in price. And I would pass that if the food was good. Guess what? It wasn’t! Taco Bell is a 5 star restaurant compared to that! Don’t waste your money!

I hadn’t been to a Wahaca in years. It was good. Plenty of vegetarian options. I had the plantain taco, which was good, with a smoky sauce. The guacamole was lacking chilli for my personal taste, but I understand. I was surprised that only Tabasco was offered as the spicy sauce. The staff were kind. The ambiance was nice, with high ceilings and yellow lights.

Lovely wee spot. My Husband enjoyed the food more than I did, but only because I like spice. Despite the mild offerings, the food was tasty. Would have gotten 5stars if my spicy margarita had been spicy.

I think I've had the worse @wahaca EVER the server tried to explain it's Mexican so spicy !!! That doesn't account for chilli, vinegar burn & soggy falling apart taco. Then tried to clear my unfinished drink, I think this has possibly cured me of my 12 year addiction 😳 oh and if I want a dessert I have to move as they need my table for a party!

We hebben hier op oudjaarsavond gegeten. Het is een restaurant met verschillende soorten. Wij hadden gekozen voor soort tapas gerechten. Mijn vriendin is vegetarisch en voor haar waren er meer dan voldoende keuzes. Het eten was echt super lekker en de prijs/kwaliteit is goed.

I wasn't impressed with wahaca at all. I felt like the portion size to price ratio wasn't great. The tacos themselves had a texture as if the whole thing had been cooked in the microwave. Garnish was overpowering to the point where you couldn't taste the meat. I left hungry and unsatisfied. As a footnote, I will say that all the people I was with seemed to enjoy their meal. Maybe it's just not to my taste, but I definitely won't be back.

Relaxed, friendly atmosphere, tasteful themed decor, lighting and background music - we sat upstairs. Great staff - helpful, attentive, and knowledgable. Divine Picante Margaritas and wonderful dishes packed with exquisite flavours - traditional guacamole with tortilla chips, Frijoles Chorizo, Plantain Tacos, Ancho Mushroom Tacos and Beet Tartare Tostadas. Perfect for two - our taste buds were singing. Rounded the meal off with excellent coffee.

My fav Mexican restaurant of all time. Maybe favourite restaurant. Great food, great cocktails, vegetarians are spoiled for choice too. Staff are always friendly too! Love it!

Wonderful spot for a bite near St. Andrews square! I got coffee and a burrito. My wife got tacos and hot chocolate. The food and drinks were fantastic! Even the chips had an excellent mix of sauces that really popped. The coffee and my wife's hot chocolate really surprised. Both were fantastic. Would visit again!

Always a pleasure going to Wahaca. Located just off Princes St close to Waverly St. Good atmosphere with lovely Xmas decorations. Good service but sum of the choices were out early in the evening which is disappointing. Good Veg choices available but some of it was not available.

You can’t go wrong with Wahaca and on a cold Sunday night in Edinburgh this was just the right spot to visit. We had not booked a table in advance but the team were very accommodating and food was quick to roll out. It’s a nice venue and a great atmosphere and they did have a few new dishes as part of their Xmas menu. Always worth a visit!

Our server was lovely, efficient, professional and friendly, as was the server in the bar area. It’s a pity that the man on the door wasn’t paying attention to our table being ready, we had to ask again.

I recently came with my partner for some dinner whilst in the city. I had head many great things about this restaurant from friends and thought I might give it a go. We took our chances and came without a booking however much to my delight we are able to secure a table. We were seated by our server an Australian girl however her name escapes me. She was lovely explained the menu well ensured we had plenty of knowledge round our likes and dislikes. She was very polite and friendly so thank you to her. We opted for a couple of burritos one beef one chicken both were gorgeous. Our food was very quick out which is always a bonus. I felt the bill was very reasonable we left a tip on top of our bill also for the staff as we had a fantastic time. We definitely are planning our return visit the next time we come to Edinburgh

Very friendly and helpful staff. Talked us through how to order from the menu, what they recommend and gave advice on drinks. Food came very quick and was very tasty. I think we were in and out in under an hour!

Can’t complain, turned up at 7pm on a busy night, they had 24 covers coming in at that time too. They asked us to wait just 15 minutes. We were seated, eated and out in 60 mins. Food excellent and very speedy too. Alisha B was a great waiter too too marks.

We were squeezed in happily at short notice and although we waited a good while for service we were delighted with our meals and drinks, the food was delicious and portions were good .

It was my first time dining at Wahaca and it went really well. Good, strong margaritas, our server Nico (I hope I remember his name correctly, young lad with tattoos and dark hair) was such a delight and the restaurant environment is warm and welcoming. Food was really fresh and well seasoned! Loved the use micro coriander. The highlighs for me were beef gringa tacos and nachos - vegetarian and chorizo. They packed a punch of flavour! Will definitely be back.

My favourite! Their chicken is flame grilled so you have a smokey-ness to their burritos that are a stand out!

Went here for Christmas night out, there was a large number of us and a few vegans (including me!) Tomas looked after us all and was very informative and a great host! We felt very welcome. Food was great, amazing atmosphere :)

We went for a work dinner party, several people and a few vegetarian and vegan. The service was very efficient, the staff was super polite and Tomas really looked like had everything under control and was very professional and helpful. It was a lovely experience.

Very friendly staff and big space! It was raining outside and we had no reservation but they managed to find us a table :) Food was amazing and not as expensive as other mexican restaurants in Edinburgh. We tried the burritos/churros/cocktails and all everything was great!

Want to say thanks to Nick A who was so friendly as he looked after us for my first trip to the restaurant. He gave us some great recommendations and the food was brilliant. The place in general is really nice and has a laidback atmosphere. Will be back!

The front of house server was abrupt and impolite, I think he was also the manager as he took my order (due to the fact I have an allergy). He barely said a word, and when he did it was dry. All other staff were so lovely and attentive - I like that they added on be service charge and that it all goes to the workers. Food was decent; but just not warm enough for me. Honestly, outstanding. Our food was fantastic and we were able to get a lot for the low price of the Wahaca Solo platter, and Matteo’s service was lovely. Our food came quickly and tasted incredible. I also loved that we got recipes for the pork! Truly, only good things.

The food was amazing and the service superb! Special thanks to Lisa and Jordan for their recommendations! We will definitely come back!
