I came to Edinburgh for a couple of days as a solo traveler and was looking for a place to have tea near my hostel. That’s when I found this wonderful spot. Indira is incredibly kind. The first time, I had a simple avocado toast, but it had a green sauce that gave it a delightful Latin twist. Plus, there are plenty of vegan 🌱 and vegetarian options. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for solo travelers. The pastries are really good, and the scones are just as delicious. I really recommend this place.

We loved this cafe. The vibe was chill with good music and the food was lovely. I had an amazing leek and fennel soup ( just the thing for a cold day) and my husband had the bowl with chicken, rice, avocado, and salsa. It was delicious! And a very pleasant resort from the crowds on the Royal Mile - definitely worth the small side trip- only a block of two!

We popped into Guajira Cafe hungry after exploring Holyrood Park and Arthur's Seat on a whim - so glad we did! What a delightful, charming, tasty positive experience! The Cuban sandwich was delicious as was the cookie we had for dessert, and the ambiance couldn't have been better. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Indihra, who made me feel like I'd done a favor by spilling my water across the floor (Water is a blessing, she said.) We highly recommend!!

My favourite place in Edinburgh, and easily one of my favourite cafés in Scotland. It is very conveniently placed, but it offer a great escape from busyness and crowds of the royal mile. It has fantastic atmosphere, amazing food and coffees, (and at reasonable prices), and the service is exceptionally friendly and truly excellent. In short, this place is a credit to Edinburgh, and you owe it to yourself to visit it.

Fantastic place for some good food at any time of the day. Nutritious food and made with care as well as generous portion makes it value for money. A place where you can chat away from all the hustle and bustle of the Royal Mile next door.

We stopped by for lunch after spending our morning in Dynamic Earth. Indhira is a lovely host - she recommended we try her Spicy Moroccan soup with a wrap or roll. That huge bowl of soup tasted gorgeous - full of flavour, spice, heat, pulses and vegetables. I had a Vegana wrap (also huge) which was crammed with veggies and pulses and washed down with Passion fruit and orange tea. My partner enjoyed his Cuban roll (massive) washed down with Sanpellegrino Lemonade. The only minor downside was I didn't leave any room for cake! The upside was that it only cost £25 for the two of us, which is incredible value for money. Nice cosy place surrounded by arty decor and Latin American music. Makes a change from bagpipes or cheesy Christmas tunes. It wasn't very busy either especially with it being lunchtime, so it's good for those who aren't keen on massively packed big pubs and restaurant chains in the Royal Mile.

My friends organised my baby shower at the Guajira cafe. The place and the atmosphere was amazing, colourful, and comfortable. The cakes and coffee were delicious and Aerodi, the owner of the place, made my time there so special. I would recommend this place to friends and families for a small event and cosy.

Right when you get to Edinburgh by train, go left on Jeffrey Street and rather than going straight to the Royal Mile stop here at Guajira, you won't be disappointed! Indhira is very kind and welcoming, and prepares delicious sandwiches, smoothies, and Caribbean-inspired fresh cakes. It's a nice drift away to Latin America right in the heart of Scotland. Indhira, muchas gracias por la charla y la gentileza!

Called in after chatting outside to the lovely Virgina to be welcomed inside by the equally lovely owner/chef/cocktail maestro Indhira. Nothing is too much trouble for these ladies and the food and drinks are delightful. A real gem of a cafe in the heart of Edinburgh. Beautiful decor and music with a distinct Caribbean feel. You instantly feel like part of a ‘family’ within these walls as the ladies take time to speak to every single customer. Rest assured I will be back on every trip to Edinburgh.

Amazing little place, injection of café dominicano (moka was delicious) and salsa music just off the Royal Mile to warm the bones after a day out in the Edinburgh rain and mist. Make sure to have a chat with the lovely owner from the Dominican Republic!

There's better options for mexican food on Leith walk. Really disappointing tacos, lacking flavour and not enough filling for the price (8-9 pounds for two small tacos). The snacks and sharing platters are better, but still not worth the money

In Newhaven port we found this restaurant not far from where the tender leaves the cruisers. The restaurant was well presented and it had free tables and we were tempted by the fish & chips on the menu. The restaurant serves a variety of foods (mexican, indian plus some fish and meat dishes). So glad that we chose the fish & chips because It was a good portion, the fish was very fresh, well cooked and the batter was done well. The place is nicely decorated and was well heated for the cold day. The bill was very reasonable but we recommend checking it carefully.

Guys who ran the place were very creepy, kept talking dirty about customers in their own language (Turkish), food tasted really bad as if it was expired. The owners of the restaurant are Turkish, and they are the ones who run the place all the time, cursing the customers in their language, thinking that no one understands the Arabs in particular, far from their racism. The food was the most disgusting and smelled like garbage that honors grace.

Delicious quesadillas and empanadas! The restaurant has a lot of charm, with its beautiful, immersive Venezuelan-themed decoration. The servers are also very courteous and efficient. Top cocktails too.
