The best restaurants serving African food in Edinburgh and Lothian

Precioso y acogedor café con la comida fresca, nutritiva y sabrosa más increíble. Definitivamente vale la pena una visita. Nunca había probado la comida de África Oriental antes, el personal era muy paciente en ayudarme a elegir y la comida salió muy rápido, caliente y delicioso.

This place is a hidden city centre gem and a legendary lunch / dinner spot amongst UoE students. The best wrap in Edinburgh 100%. It’s very affordable and the portions are HUGE and full of flavour. Their falafel is incredible - I would definately recommend trying it. There’s a cute dining area downstairs but most of the customers get it take out. It gets very busy there especially during lunch time but the queue moves very fast - no longer than a couple of minute wait. The staff are very friendly:)

I went for dinner with a friend and was really looking forward to the meal (the reviews seemed great and so did the website and menu). We booked a slot for a la carte menu without realising that if we would like go for the “sharing experience” we should have booked a different time slot (perhaps if this could be better clarified in the website it would have been useful). We were immediately told that changing the slot was not possible as we didn’t have time. We felt rushed during our meal, and although we were finished our main courses within our 1h30 slot, we were not asked for desserts and we were just asked to finish our drinks in the hall because the table was booked for other people…so we felt rushed to pay…Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy the food as I hoped, as I was stressed with the time pressure…

Amazing food with rich, authentic flavors! The Jollof rice, fried rice and grilled chicken were perfect. Warm hospitality made it feel like home. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed an excellent meal at Indaba, supplemented by faultless service. I had tapas on holiday in Seville last year, but this definitely topped it. This was the best meal I have had in five years of living in Edinburgh. We will definitely be back!
