Amazing experience of a full Scottish. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff. The food is fresh and so tasty. Really enjoyed it.

Had the full Scottish breakfast and loved it. The pancakes were also delicious. Listening to 90’s music while enjoying the food was a plus.

The fountain cafe is great the food is fab and it's only 2 minutes walk from staycity Aparthotels apartments the full Scottish breakfast is lovely and my wife loved the eggs on toast great little cafe with friendly staff we ate breakfast here twice on our 2 day stay would highly recommend.

Clean, bright and cosy, with great friendly service and yummy food. Had the Full Scottish with a few substitutions for which the team were happy to oblige. Highly recommend, especially before a conference at EICC

Great city with lots of things going on! It was the fringe festival and the military tattoo show so was busy. Loads of lovely restaurants and cocktail bars. I ended up doing the Edinburgh dungeons that was an experience! Make sure you have comfy shoes as it’s plenty of walking. There is also a hop on hop of bus that takes you around the place. I only stayed 20 minute walk away from the main centre so was perfect! Would definitely go again!

Fountain Cafe has the best comfort breakfast in Edinburgh. Their sausage rolls singlehandedly carried me through the pandemic. The food’s great, the staff are really friendly, and the cafe itself is super cozy. Couldn’t recommend more!

Fountain cafe was just round from the mercure hotel and we found it on trip advisor, we had been out for dinner and drinks so needed a hang over cure. The staff were VERY welcoming and the coffee and food was absolutely unreal , would highly recommend for a proper breakfast will definitely come again next time in Edinburgh

Lovely friendly cafe with a homely atmosphere. I opted for some scrambled eggs on toast with bacon and blackpudding, while my boyfriend went for the full breakfast. WOW what a plate full- delicious!! Staff were friendly and attentive, highly recommend😊

The best pancakes in Edinburgh! Went here a few times on our trip to Edinburgh and never had a bad meal. Friendly service and it felt really safe and clean. Will definitely be back if we visit the city again.

I was part of a stag group who had a couple of nights in Edinburgh. We stayed in the apartments a few doors down and came here after we checked out. The breakfast was fantastic. Bacon, sausage, egg, black pudding, haggis (which was fantastic), toast and beans. Well priced and very very tasty with friendly service.

Nos encanta este lugar excelentes precios y excelente personal. Una pequeña empresa familiar que hace rollos matutinos perfectos. Link y tocino rollos para morir por ti puede hacer 7 días a la semana. ¿Golpeamos casi 5 días a veces? Siempre una buena conversación con el propietario hace que valga la pena comenzar el día, especialmente cuando trabajas con seguridad. Hasta pronto.

Tuvimos que esperar un poco después de llegar para obtener las llaves de nuestras vacaciones y tomar una copa en la cafetería. Muy amablemente nos dieron un poco de leche para que pudiéramos tomar una copa en nuestro piso ya que no sabíamos dónde estaban las tiendas.Luego tomamos el desayuno allí en nuestro último día, buena comida (los haggis y morcilla eran maravillosos), servicio rápido y amable. Uno de los grandes recuerdos de nuestras vacaciones en Edimburgo.

Stayed nearby and went for our breakfast. Very popular with the locals. Had full breakfast and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and a pot of tea. Very nice. Good music taste too.

Been back to the Fountain Cafe and even though the Fringe was on did not have to wait more than ten minutes for my order.One tip on a Sunday visit you can park your vehicle in the street,no wardens.

Descubrimos el Café Fountain mientras nos hospedábamos en los Apartamentos Fountain Court. Fuimos allí para el desayuno en el primer día y lo disfrutamos tanto que volvimos de nuevo en el segundo día. Encantador, comida recién preparada y un personal muy acogedor y amable. ¡No dudes en recomendarlo!

Mi hermana está en una silla de ruedas, así que no estaba segura de comer en este lugar. Los otros clientes se ofrecieron alegremente a mudarse a una mesa diferente para dejar espacio para mi hermana y su silla. Simon y Elizabeth? nos atendió y nos hizo un delicioso desayuno. No podrían haber hecho más para hacernos sentir bienvenidos. Sin duda volveré a comer aquí cuando vuelva a Edimburgo. No usamos el baño, así que no estoy seguro de si es accesible.

Wonderful full Scottish breakfast and pancakes and bacon with maple syrup. Great music, friendly and funny staff. A great hideaway in backstreet - simple style. Close to Royal Leonardo Hotel and much nicer and better value breakfast. Highly recommend.

Found this place after staying overnight at my nephews on grove street. What a fab little place. Food is excellent and staff happy and super friendly. We had full breakfast and it was deliscious! Definitely be back.

I work in nearby Morrison Street - every Friday we get a roll from one of the nearby shops. This morning - January the 4th, those nearby shops decided to remain closed for another day and that is how fate work because, the next option available to my colleague doing the 'role run' today was the Fountain Café.

Small place with excellent service. I ordered the full breakfast and it was pretty good, but after I deboed some of my sons pancakes I realized this is where it’s at! Trust me, go with the pancakes.

Had a great lunch here with my mum, we were able to bring our small dog inside and the staff even provided water for her. Simon and the rest of the team were awesome. Bacon rolls to die for!

Yo y un grupo de 5 amigos nos alojamos en un lugar en el puente de la fuente en un viaje de fin de semana a Edimburgo. Mañana lunes aparecimos aquí para conseguir un desayuno muy necesario tras la noche antes de salir! Todos ordenados desayunos completos, excepto por una porción de panqueques, y uno solicitado sin un par de ingredientes que no era un problema, y me dio algunos extras de los artículos que no desee. Había dos miembros de personal que nos recibió calurosamente y llevamos nuestros pedidos muy rápidamente, llevando nuestros cafés en pocos minutos. Un ambiente informal y relajado, es un lugar fantástico para pasar una hora o así de la mañana disfrutando de un abundante y delicioso que te prepara para una tarde de hacer turismo. Conversó con nuestro servidor antes de que nos fuéramos, que era un hombre muy agradable!

This is a great little cafe doing a roaring trade with the locals which is always the best endorsement. We stayed in Edinburgh for a few days and chose to go here for breakfast every day. The full breakfast was cooked perfectly to my request, the pancakes with maple syrup were fabulous, and we also had great bacon and sausage rolls to take with us on one day. The people running the place are very friendly and I highly recommend it.

Not my usual take out coffee place however was very few open first week of January. Very good coffee so will come back as not far from where i work near Grove Street.

Small cafe obviously run by local people. Coffees were hot and fresh. Scrambled eggs and salmon was plentiful and very tasty on delicious seeded bread.

This cafe is absolutely fantastic. We had a really lovely breakfast there. My friends had a full breakfast, and i had porridge and scrambled egg. I got so much food i had to take some away. I could not recommend the cafe enough. The staff were phenomal and the cafe had a great vibe. I can't wait to go back.

Went in for breakfast; an unassuming place but great food, hospitable owners and a great breakfast. We had a typical Scottish Breakfast which keeps you going for the whole day. All fresh and well prepared. Bacon is a bit salty for North American tastes, but everything else including the whole grain toast and marmalade was delicious. Ande and Thomas (Tomas?) are warm, hospitable young people who are delightful hosts. We will be back and anyone staying at Staycity serviced apartments will find this Cafe convenient and very reasonable in price. Good value!.

Just been here for a full breakfast with my dad, whilst my brother opted for the pancakes with syrup. Have to say I was well impressed and it was a nice setting with the pictures on the walls, music playing and the retro barbers opposite. Will be back

Have been staying in adjacent Fountain Court apartments for a number of years, and regularly have breakfast in Fountain Cafe. Never been let down. A real Scottish breakfast available, with quality haggis and / or blackpudding available on request.Very friendly, and good music as well. Recommended.

The Fountain Cafe is located just a block away from where we stayed in Edinburgh. We visited for breakfast before taking the train to North Berwick. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and prompt. Not a big, fancy place, but that's why it's called a cafe. We met some very interesting gentlemen there and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The Eggs & Salmon breakfast was yummy. Loved it!

Six of us ate here after overnight stay nearby. we were all in need of a good breakfast and were more then rewarded with a fantastic treat. A good selection of breakfasts we had pancakes maple syrup bacon & eggs. Scrambled eggs & smoked salmon and breakfast rolls with sausage. We didn't realise they closed at noon until we left at 20 mins past and the staff were happy to let us remain and finish our food. will def be back for breakfast next time in area.
