The best restaurants in South East

Sorry it has taken me so long to review. Visited a couple of times in October 2024. This is a hidden gem, as are all the lovely friendly staff. Booked for Sunday lunch and the restaurant was packed out, rightly so, the food was amazing and there was so much of it. Just when we thought we’d have to be airlifted out the crumble and custard arrived, wow!!! Such good value and tasty original food. Needless to say we didn’t need to eat again that day. As a vegan it’s a joy to visit such a wonderful restaurant. Even if you’re not vegan give it a go for the tasty food and friendly service.

We followed all the great reviews and decided to visit Vital ingredients for some Caribbean food . Guys give it a go , you won’t regret it . I had oxtails and my family went for jerk chicken . The portions were really generous and the food super yummy . Great hospitality and friendly staff . We don’t live in the area and they all made us feel so welcome and to top it up the price was really good . Many thanks to all of you . Keep up the good quality . Hannah

Don't be put off by the drinks thing. This is a delightful and well-appointed cafe in what I imagine was (and still is) the local Post Office. We were greeted by a cheery lady who asked if we wanted the Post Office or breakfast! Imagine our surprise when she announced that full English is half-price for October weekdays. Well, that made choosing very easy and it was delicious and more than either of us could manage. Good coffee and friendly servers so an all-around 5* from us.

We really enjoyed our lunch in this little place. A wee gem in Ramsgate. I was with a polish person who loved it. Great food and lovely service.

Good food, very friendly staff, this restaurant even made me like eggplant, which was not a given, I highly recommend!

We visited Veeno today for lunch. We had the best meal and we’ll certainly be back. I can’t believe we haven’t discovered this gem before. We had garlic bread and pizza, both of which were the best we’ve ever tasted. They came with olive oil and balsamic dip which was gorgeous. They also gave us some truffle oil to dip the pizza crusts in which was soooo good and different. They had a huge selection of wines and their house red was delicious. I had to have a second glass 😋. Can’t wait to return to try more of their menu. Thank you for a fanatic relaxing lunch x

Thank you so much for baking such a beautiful cake for my nieces’s baby shower. It not only looked amazing but tasted delicious too. Will definitely be coming back for more bakes and so will family and friends! xx Rizwana

Really friendly, welcoming people run this coffee bar. The coffee is brewed to perfection. The tea is strong and flavoursome. The toasted sandwiches are filled to the brim and very tasty. The cakes are moist and delicious. The outlook is pleasant due to the flowers and plants. The atmosphere, cosy and inviting. They also serve ice cream, toasties, waffles, and smoothies. The ice creams in waffle cones are amazing. The ice cream goes right down to the bottom, so every bite is a delight. This is a place we visit time and again. It comes very highly recommended indeed.

Delicious and independent veggy and vegan cafe in the heart of Guildford run by very friendly owners. Just what Guildford needs. To start I had yummy homemade mushroom and leek quiche accompanied with fresh tasty mix of different salads. I stayed to write my Christmas cards being so behind with Christmas, they didn’t mind at all. All that Christmas card writing made me hungry, good excuse to enjoy a lunch of mushroom stroganoff, salads , followed by Fruit Crumble and cream. Yum. Set in a lovely, atmospheric, historic building. Good value too.

Had a el Chapo with fries and spicy chicken wings, absolutely delicious, the only problem was, not enough chicken wings, so moorish, went down lovely with a cold beer. Will definitely be using again

Fantastic place for coffee, spanakopita, baklava (and patisserie if that's your thing). It's always my first stop on a day in Margate. Friendly staff, authentic food all made on the premises I think, great value for money. A little bit of Greece on the Kent coast.

I actually can’t sing your praises enough!! The service was outstanding the food was incredible!! Absolutely authentic Italian pizza!! Delicious!! We sat outside in the sunshine!! Just perfect!! Even Schnitzel was well looked after…..🐶 service 10/10 food 12 /10 Atmosphere 10/10 thank you
