The Bay Vegan Deli & Coffee House in Isle of Wight

We hired The Bay Vegan Deli to cater for our wedding in September as it was really important to us that, not only was the food vegan, but that it was delicious and kept everyone full. It's safe to say Mel and her team blew us away with the incredible spread they put on. We were absolutely gobsmacked by the beautiful presentation, and all of our guests were wowed. Every single person we spoke to on the day (and since) complimented the food, saying it was absolutely delicious and they all went back for seconds (and some, thirds!) - what an amazing claim, considering the wedding of 50 guests had less than 5 vegans in attendance. Mel was professional, polite, calm, and just perfect to deal with from start to finish. Although she had another event to attend to after setting up, she left her very capable staff in charge of the buffet and they kept it topped up, tidy, and all cleaned down afterwards without a crumb left behind - the venue even complimented us the next day on how clean everything had been left! We ordered a picnic a few days in advance for collection and what a treat it was. So very tasty and just perfect. Sadly the weather didn’t follow the bays lead! Thankyou so much, will definitely be back.

Had a wonderful vegan breakfast here consisting of sausages , bacon , baked beans, sourdough toast,mushrooms,tomatoes , smashed avocado and ordered a portion of scrambled tofu. The staff are brilliant and remembered us from a visit earlier in the year. Felt very at home and welcome, great place to catch up with friends

I am so pleased that I went to The Bay. There are many to choose from in Sandown. Very friendly and professional service and my grilled tofu salad was delicious. A very decent tea blend for my cup of tea too. I didn’t take a picture, it was wonderfully presented.

By far the best vegan meal I have ever tasted. Excellent value for money as the portion size was huge. Alongside this a really friendly owner who is clearly passionate about vegan cooking and wanting to give her clients the best vegan experience. I will definitely be returning.

Wow the food was incredible. I had a garlicky mushroom dish and I can’t stop thinking about it since yesterday! So delicious! My friend had another type of dish. The friendly helpful staff were amazing too! Definitely recommend

We went to The Bay on a previous visit to the Isle of Wight and made it a priority to go back next time we were on the island. The food is lovely, with a good variety of options. The friends we went with had a freshly baked pudding, which was divine! You get service with a smile. We’ll definitely go back. Again.

We often call into this lovely cafe for a coffee and decided to try one of their Tapas evenings for a Birthday treat. Lovely atmosphere, cosy and friendly and the food was excellent, very varied and extremely tasty. Also a great wine selection. Would definitely recommend for Vegans and non Vegans who are looking to try something different.

We were given a Tacos and Tipples Voucher for a Christmas present, so this was an outing to use this. The greeting we received on entry was friendly and welcoming, the menu options for this voucher were explained to us in a helpful manner, with suggestions to help us get the best out of our experience. The food was very tasty and portions were generous without being too much. We would recommend this venue, as we thoroughly enjoyed our meal there, especially as we did not know this little gem even existed until receiving this present. Will look to return soon.

Had Sunday roast here and wow it was so lovely. TEN different veg, mushroom and leek gravy and four choices of meat free accompaniment. I had the sweet potato roulade (yum). Very friendly service and home and all home cooked. Small and basic but well worth a visit - very reasonable prices too.

Have been here many times for breakfast and coffee (always 10/10) but this is only the second time I’ve been for tapas and it did not disappoint! Absolutely beautiful food, great atmosphere, will absolutely be coming back for tapas. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Lovely friendly accomodating staff. Food was amazing, had the cheese burger with fries and coleslaw and partner had the garlic mushrooms which was delicious too. Fully rcommend to anyone.

Fantastic little gem tucked away on Sandown high street, this cafe gives you everything you want and more. The owner was so friendly and welcoming, stayed open longer for us when we arrived after closing time & didn’t hurry us along at all when choosing. Gorgeous vegan food & drinks and a great conversation with the lovely owner, definitely a highlight of our holiday & only wish we could take her back with us. Thanks so much ❤️

Happened upon The Bay by accident walking back to the car but had to pop in for coffee and cake treat as not often we find vegan coffee shops. We were served by a lovely lady who took time you find out what we’d like and customised the coffee for each of our tastes. A lovely place and delicious cake! Great to find somewhere like this so unexpectedly and whilst on holiday. Thoroughly recommend. If we were staying longer we’d be back again for sure!

We needed to plan our wedding in 4 weeks, we wanted vegan food and had met Mel a couple of times before and ate at her lovely restaurant. We enquired if it would be something she could do. We were met with great enthusiasm for the food she could do for us, flexibility on meeting up and discussing it further, and a wonderful, calm, can-do attitude. Mel is a positive, professional lady with incredible organisational skills. She quickly not only organised our catering to our taste but also arranged for me to have my lashes and nails done at short notice, she organised an incredible band last minute and put us in touch with Marquees IOW who were amazing. She also put us in touch with a lady to do our wedding cake. All within a weeks notice. Mel really surpassed our expectations, and we will be forever grateful for her and her amazing team for looking after us on our special day. Our wedding reception was at my parents' house, and Mel prepared a cold buffet for lunch. Then, cooked for 60 people for dinner, she used the kitchen and kept it clean and tidy. Everyone enjoyed the food so much and commented how tasty it was. Thank you, Mel, and your amazing team for your organisation, wonderful food, smiles ,laughter ,attention to detail, enthusiasm, and calm❤️

We went here on the spur of the moment for a late Sunday lunch. Wow! It was sublime. Delicious, perfectly cooked and plentiful with heavenly gravy. It was also very dog friendly which pleased Banjo, our Kokoni.
