Ela's Coffee Bar in South Oxfordshire

Really friendly, welcoming people run this coffee bar. The coffee is brewed to perfection. The tea is strong and flavoursome. The toasted sandwiches are filled to the brim and very tasty. The cakes are moist and delicious. The outlook is pleasant due to the flowers and plants. The atmosphere, cosy and inviting. They also serve ice cream, toasties, waffles, and smoothies. The ice creams in waffle cones are amazing. The ice cream goes right down to the bottom, so every bite is a delight. This is a place we visit time and again. It comes very highly recommended indeed.

Delicious coffee, made quickly by some lovely folks. The cafe has chairs and tables, a little library section with colouring for kids and a selection of cakes (and gingerbread men)

Great value for money, I ordered three smoothies from Ela's Coffee Bar which looked like a set of Traffic lights! Always enjoy coming here because both Ela and Cliff provide top quality catering, and a very colourful dining area surrounded by beautiful plants! Really enjoy the cheese and bacon toasties, always leave us wanting another! Very friendly couple, highly recommended!

Visited the cafe for the first time today, we ordered 2 bacon sandwiches and 2 caramel lattes and 2 almond croissants to take away, and they were absolutely amazing.

Still our fave local coffee haunt. Absolutely love! Excellent flat whites, smoothies, toasties... Divine to sit amongst the garden centre's flowers.

Wow, what a little gem! Visited with two friends, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The toasted sandwiches were the best I've had, and I was very happy to see smoothies available... many cafes just don't offer them, and I'm a smoothie fanatic. 😋 The carrot cake was divine - topped with chopped nuts and delicate flower petals. The quality of the food was faultless, and the service both friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking with easy access for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and baby buggies. Situated next to the fabulous Playhatch Garden Centre. Can't recommend Ela's highly enough. We'll definitely be returning. Many thanks to the lovely staff for a great lunch.

Really like Ela’s - well made coffee, good pastries and bakes, friendly service. I think this is a great addition to the garden centre, and I hope that people will pop in and make it a regular stop. For me, it is top of the coffee spots in the local area.

Had a pit stop with my sister. What a delight. We had a coffee and a strawberry shake with some delicious cake. Polenta lemon cake tasted so fresh and the carrot cake was gorgeous. The owners are lovely people offering service with a smile. Thoroughly recommend.

Amazing coffee venue and cheeky snacks. Both of the members of the team are insightful and a pleasure to talk to. Always full of the news of the park and the comings and goings. Shame the council is opening a venue which means that this place will no longer be allowed to run. I need the recipe for the crunchy honey nut bite as it is amazing. Really sad to see the place go.

Best coffee place in Reading. Serve by it owners. Cakes are delicious. They have uplifted the park. So happy when they arrived.

Now I know what heaven on earth tastes like - beetroot coffee from Ela's coffe bar is an amazing diamond 💎 in Prospect Park. This is one of the very special places in Reading, offering a wonderful selection of coffee and tea, iced drinks and smooties. Delicious fresh pastry every morning is a culinary delight for the palate. It's wonderful to see a couple Ela and Cliff working so well, who have passion, a talent for this wonderful business. I will always go back there.

Having the coffee cart where it is provides a valuable asset to Prospect Park. Great range of fabulous tasting coffees, teas, hot chocolates (the flavoured ones are fabulous in winter), coolers, fruit smoothies and soft drinks as well as a mouth-watering array of sweet and savoury pastries and bakes. Even though trading conditions are tough with the rising cost of living and the impact of this heatwave having a knock-on effect of opening hours, I hope this little gem continues on and on. It's the little indies like this which keep Reading going (and that's been so evident during these last couple of years with the pandemic and so on).

We are big fans of this van! Had a kids birthday party at Prospect Park today and the coffee van crew were so accommodating to our large group. Super friendly. The coffee here is fantastic, the vegan offerings are plentiful and delicious. I used to go to another park further away because they had a coffee shop and now we just go here which is great as it’s our local.

Welcome Elas - a much needed addition to a large park. Fabulous coffee, shakes, smoothies and snacks. Great location, great services. Prices may be a little dearer than some other places, but it’s all good quality and supporting local! You get what you pay for and people keep going back so it’s worth it 😊

The best coffee, the most delicious cakes and a truly lovely couple who run it. It's in a great location and perfect for getting that coffee fix on a morning stroll. Best coffee I've had and they also do a wide range of drinks such as smoothies, shakes and cold drinks so whatever mood you're in, they've got it covered. So pleased Ela and Cliff came to this park, not sure what we would do without them!

Cliff & Ela are a great asset to the park with their coffee bar. It is always lovely to say hi to them and they have some delicious treats available as well as warming hot drinks and tasty cold beverages. I live across the road from the park so have been a few times and definitely recommend! 🥰

Can’t recommend Ela’s enough! They’re the best place for coffee and a cake and always happy to try something new (iced turmeric latte). The cakes are divine! The coffee is delicious! The people that work there are so SO lovely! So please please please just have coffee and cake there forever and ever because I can’t rate it more!

This is such an amazing coffee van and a feature so needed in Prospect Park 💚 The coffee is amazing, so are freshly baked goodies 🤤 Service is very friendly and quick, they definitely know what they are doing! The van looks very retro and unique. Highly recommend Ela’s Coffee Bar!
