This was our third visit to the restaurant. We were really happy the first two times but this visit was even better than previous ones.
We were celebrating our son‘s birthday with his partner and all four of us ordered different things and tried each other’s dishes.
We loved the sev puri chat pre-starters and then shared 4 starters. All were great but the paneer garlic chilli pepper and gunpowder prawns were particularly good.
For mains we had grilled Marsala fish (sea bass), chingri malai prawn curry, Malabar coastal chicken curry and the chef made a chicken tikka pathia for us despite it not being on the menu. The chef varied the degree of spicing on a couple of the dishes as requested. We also had rice, bread and mixed tarka dal. We enjoyed everything. The dal was particularly good.
We had a really lovely evening and would 100% recommend, just wish we didn’t live over 300 miles away but we’ll definitely be back on our next visit to Newcastle.
Amazing atmosphere the owner really goes above and beyond I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here . Really friendly service and food was outstanding . The best lobster I’ve ever had and they even gave me extra !!! Cheap aswell really recommend !
What a welcoming fabulous cafe, fantastic freshly prepared dishes and amazing cakes and sweet treats, everything thing homemade from locally sourced produce, friendly, professional service from the team. Doggy friendly on another level, our boy McDuff the crazy boxer didn’t want to leave! We will definitely return soon …I WOULD GIVE 10 STARS IF I COULD !
Visited earlier today with a friend & we both enjoyed the buffet immensely, delicious freshly cooked food with a varied choice of dishes, staff here are very attentive & nothing is a problem for them, clearly they care for their customers & are very professional, we will definitely be back & will recommend to friends 😊
Just had to write one final review of this excellent restaurant which is now sadly closed. We were lucky enough to have our second (and now, final) chance to try their tasting menu, and every dish was a delight. Looking forward to seeing whether there will be a new place with Michelin stars to try soon!
Great reviews for previous owners the afternoon tea here was delightful been many times . please note this is not the same place now as previous reviews from 2023… went for afternoon tea and it was disappointing to say the least. Hardly any sandwiches but tasteless hardly any filling, pale scones, cakes seemed possible shop bought..very overpriced and waste of money and not very cozy was cold - owner very pleasant but would not return again
We went on my birthday as a family. We had two boys aged 12 and 10 years old and three adults. We opted for a starter each and a main course each.
The steak I had was very tender and just right for how I had ordered it. It had a nice salad with it and I had a side of chips to go with it. It was very tasty. The other adults enjoyed their choices and the boys liked their choices too.
The food arrived hot and tasty in a reasonable time.
Great experience.
What a lovely place Guiseppe’s is. Small and cosy, the food was delicious, both the Rigatoni and the huge pizza! Service was excellent, so friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked into the restaurant. All for a great price too.
We travelled 40 miles to do a walk from Craster starting from The Piper's Pitch. We checked the evening before the opening times and that it would be open We planned on food there. Not open when we go there. Really disappointing. Spoke to staff in the Jolly Fisherman later and was told the opening is inconsistent .
The meals were as expected, chips were outstanding, lasagne was very good, the stotie bread specials were average. Service was ok but not very attentive. Difficult to move due to proximity of next table. Disappointed overall.
FABULOUS quirky little place to eat 👌❤️ Lovely welcoming, friendly owners and staff. DELICIOUS food and a fabulous selection of freshly baked homemade scones and cakes made by the owners. Lots to choose from the menu & specials board. I had the delightful homemade Pea & Ham soup with a cheese and ham scone.
Doggie friendly with doggie treats on offer. A lovely real fire lit added to our cosy afternoon lunch.
I love my food and would recommend this place. Lots of places offer coffee and food but a great deal on offer unfortunately is bulkmade and very processed. So, if you are looking for a lovely homemade selection visit this place. We will be back when we are next in the area. Thank you Strawberry Lounge 👍
There was 14 us visited on Fri 18/10/24 for my birthday. The food was amazing from the poppadoms and pickle tray, starters and mains. The food was freshly cooked and so tasty. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was fantastic and friendly too. Highly recommend. I love their merg modhu shale it’s delicious, but one of our group really enjoyed the chocolate masala too. Plenty of choice and all tasted delicious. We will be back soon 5 stars from us all star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
