The food was amazing and the best daal I ever had. The service was excellent and spot on. I couldn't have wished for a better night, 10 stars out of 5.

Fantastic quality food with outstanding flavour. Always a very warm welcome from the friendly, professional staff. I’ve been to this restaurant a few times now and have always had an exceptional meal, never a good meal, never an average meal, always an exceptional meal. First time visiting for wife's birthday from the minute we entered the Restaurant you could tell the service was going to be above and beyond expectations. We were welcomed by Salaman shown to our table and handed menus had a lovely chat and Salaman talked us through the menu and made recommendations according to our tastes when the food arrived the taste and quality matched the service. We will 100% be visiting again for more great food and friendly chat. There where also solo diners in the Restaurant but with Salamans interaction with all of the diners it felt more like group dining experience without being too intrusive very enjoyable evening.

Babaji is a very welcoming and friendly restaurant. Consistently fantastic - food and service, by far the best Indian restaurant in Sunderland. We have been dining at Babaji since it opened, we’ve tried most dishes on the menu which are always fresh and flavoursome, portions are a good size and excellent quality.

Went here for the first time this month, food was absolutely fantastic and both food and drink was reasonably priced. It was very busy when we went in, so we advise booking in advance to make sure you get a table. Service was at times a little slow, but it was very busy. But once food was ordered it turned up at the table pretty quickly. Special shout out to Salman, nothing was too much of a trouble for him, he was very friendly and came to chat to us while we were there, and always made sure we were enjoying the food. We will definitely be back in the near future.

Took such a long time for drinks and had to ask several times to chase up orders. Food arrived. One main course wrong and we had to wait for our to be made so one member of party ate alone. Amazing food. Very poor service today. Disappointed 😞
