The best restaurants serving Italian food in North East

Amazing atmosphere the owner really goes above and beyond I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here . Really friendly service and food was outstanding . The best lobster I’ve ever had and they even gave me extra !!! Cheap aswell really recommend !

We looked online the menu sounded just right for what we wanted,nice cosy feel friendly and efficient service and staff,no question too small.

We visited tonight after reading the Trip Advisor reviews, and were definitely not disappointed! The service was outstanding - we were warmly welcomed and there were constant checks throughout to see if everything was okay. The food was great and plentiful. There is a limited wine list, but the house wine was very good. We shared a couple of starters (calamari and gambas), and then ordered pizza, a caprese salad and a pasta dish. All the food was so good and at very reasonable prices. We felt that visiting Little Nino’s was so much nicer than a city-centre chain. Would I recommend Little Nino’s? Without a doubt - and we’ll definitely be back!

This pub is fantastic! The location is great to explore the Northumberland National Park. The food is well considered with a "rapid" lunch menu, and a full menu with specials. Obviously made from scratch with care. Flavours are exceptional showing great attention to detail. Cosy log burning stove in bar. Friendly service. We only popped in for lunch on a bike ride on a Monday in November, but we'll be coming back as soon as possible to enjoy everything properly with an overnight stay!!

Recently visited Perla Nera for an evening meal. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The Christmas decorations are lovely and tasteful. We had bruschetta which was so tasty. Garlic mushroom and a black pudding and pepper sauce to start. All were cooked to perfection the pepper sauce was stunning. For main course we had a chicken in pepper sauce and a carbonara which again both were beautiful. The chips and veg with the chicken were lovely. Homemade chips and the veg was sautéed in butter and was fresh and crisp so nice. I had a coffee after which was beautiful, you can’t beat Italian coffee and my husband had sticky toffee pudding which was beautiful he said and was convinced was made fresh in the restaurant and not bought in. The staff really are attentive without being overbearing and are extremely friendly. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough and we will definitely be back. Great little spot with lovely food and great service, would recommend as one of the best eats i've tried so far in north shields. Will be back with a bottle of wine next time since it's BYOB

Food amazing, far too much to eat, atmosphere so inviting and relaxed, the young man on the bar knew his stuff, very attentive and informative and will definitely be returning, well recommended

I can't begin to describe how **Utterly Outstanding** this lovely cafe is. If there was ever such a place as a utopia of Italian food, this is it, it is simply perfect. Staff is beyond friendly, food is heaven in your mouth and the coffee is brilliant.
