Caffè Rustico in Newcastle upon Tyne

I can't begin to describe how **Utterly Outstanding** this lovely cafe is. If there was ever such a place as a utopia of Italian food, this is it, it is simply perfect. Staff is beyond friendly, food is heaven in your mouth and the coffee is brilliant.

La mejor pizza para llevar en Newcastle. Sabores increíbles y corteza perfecta. El arancini es el mejor que he probado. Muy recomendable.

¡Joya escondida justo al lado de la carretera costera! Las pizzas, pastas, paninis y fritis son excepcionales, la calidad de los ingredientes es increíble! Sin duda la comida italiana más fresca, deliciosa y auténtica que encontrarás en el noreste (y probablemente que he probado en todo el Reino Unido). Los propietarios son tan acogedores y siempre hacen un esfuerzo para asegurarse de que tenga todo lo que pueda necesitar. Realmente es la mejor experiencia de ir a Caffe Rustico!

Some of the best pizza and tiramisu in Newcastle! Prices are reasonable and the staff are all very friendly. Plus it's dog friendly too!

Takeaway pasta 😍. Even though I live far, it only took 30 mins from placing my order to the food arriving, the delivery driver was very friendly and the bolognese!!! I chose pecorino cheese and it came in a separate pot so I could decide how much I wanted. Will have to come in soon with my family and try the restaurant!

Coffee is the best in the area. Pizza and Arranchina (rice ball with bolognaise or spinach) are fresh and delicious. We live on the estate and it’s a real gem. Highly recommend.

Local authentic Italian cafe which doesn’t disappoint. Shared a beautifully cooked vegetariana pizza and Orto salad. My friend and I drank Chinotto, a typically Italian drink which is impossible to find in most Italian places in Newcastle. Good coffee too. Felt like we’d been on a weekend break to Milan. Downside is lack of wheelchair accessibility which we discussed with the owner who would love to provide a portable ramp. Please support him in his efforts to get council approval!

Visited recently with a group of friends - authentically Italian 🙌 which is just what we wanted, staff super friendly and attentive. The food is freshly made and absolutely delicious. We had various pizza's and each one was lovely, with lovely light crust's and very tasty toppings. Lovely coffee and cakes and the staff are really friendly and attentive. A great addition to the area. Small, intimate and very family friendly.

Simply brilliant I have been many times with colleagues and by myself the food is fantastic it is only eclipsed by the fantastic customer service. Could not recommend high enough please do yourself a favour and eat here I recommend the ham and mozzarella extra mayonnaise simply stunning.

Shout out to this lovely little gem in Benton, very delicious food with very warm atmosphere and very nice staff. Even the simplest standard food tastes different here. Just go and give yourself a treat, you wouldn’t regret it.

Amazing, authentic Italian food and drinks. Unlike other Italian pizza restaurants the staff here are very accommodating and happy to advice or amend if necessary. Food is made fresh and is one of our favourite places to go. A real hidden gem, can’t recommend enough!

After a rough week we really fancied a well cooked pizza. The vegetarian pizza really hit the mark. Loads of topping and the usual thin and authentic base. Loved it - thanks.

Davide has a lovely little place here. He makes his own Italian food and it's delicious. Everything. Honestly. It's become my 'go-to' for a good reason. Find it and try it!

This has become our favourite go to place. When we arrived today it had a great buzz about it. An hour and a half and a couple of flat whites each with a sneaky breakfast panini whilst we had a great catch up. You know that Italian food is authentic when a place is frequented by lots of the ex-pat from Italy. There is alway that friendly energetic conversation in this cafe that you get when Italians are enjoying themselves. Thanks for a lovely morning Davide.

Amazing food. Everything was fresh, made to order. Very reasonable and the pizzas are gorgeous. The service was great. We all felt like we were on holiday! Please open one in Gosforth!

This place has only been open a few months but boy is it a firm favourite. Davide is am authentic Italian foodie. He has an amazing passion for the food he creates. His pizza has 48 hour matured dough with minimal yeast so it is light, crisp and quite simply some of the best pizza I have had outside of Italy. The pizzas here are not the over flavoured Anglicised pizza with too many topping with doughy bready bases so common in most pizza takeaways. These are simple, fresh and lovely in flavour. A Margarita pizza from most places is bland and drowned in cheap cheese. Cafffe Rustico's is fresh and balanced in flavour. Davide's Arancini are to die for (made by hand in house), the other snacks and starters are also great. This is now go to local coffee spot and I intend to make visits late in the morning so I can justify stopping for lunch.

This place is a real hidden gem. Lovely chap owns it, who is always friendly and chatty and more than happy to help. The coffee is perfect (as you'd expect), and the food is authentic and most importantly - home made. Delicious. Go here - honestly.
